"See, I told you, he can never be loyal," Dad said as he read a blog involving Edward.

"I could never have guessed that he was such crazy for money!" Mom said.

"I told you... He's always been very ambitious!" Dad said proudly, "He's capable of doing anything!"

I wasn't listening to anything they were saying.

I was thinking about all the things Edward had told me and how they were getting mapped to the mess he was in right now.

"But it's going to get dirty, and I don't want to involve you. You don't deserve any of that."

"I've been thinking about everything… It's not going to be easy to fight Tanya and her family. I need to think from every perspective... But one thing is very clear - It's for the best if you stay away from me."

"You had a relationship with me while working with me in the same company. They can misuse this and harm you in worse ways than you can even imagine. Actually you know what? We should not even be talking to each other on the phone about this from this point."

"You've dodged a bullet, Bella," Dad said.

"Exactly!" Mom said, "Mike is such a nice guy."

"I broke up with him," I said.

"Why would you break up with him?" she asked incredulously, "He seemed such a nice guy!"

Because he's not Edward! I wanted to say.

"Because he's not Edward!" I said.

"For Edward?" she said, "Really? Are you mad? Can't you see the mess he's in right now?"

"I shouldn't have listened to you all!" I shouted.

I didn't know why I was shouting, but I've had enough! I was tired of keeping everything in my heart!

"I should have gone with my gut feeling... I shouldn't have listened to both of you and Alice! I knew he was lying that he didn't want me... But then I saw him with Tanya and... I should have tried to talk to him instead of listening to you all! I'm an idiot!"

I was blabbering, but I was going crazy.

"He's battling all alone, and I..." I felt like crying.

They were questioning every single thing about him.

They had attributed all his success and hard work just to Tanya's family money.

He didn't deserve that!

I was an idiot to listen to all these people!

Edward was a bigger idiot, but he was my idiot!

I had decided to go against my gut feeling once.

I needed to talk to him urgently!

I called him, but he disconnected it.

"Edward, can we please talk?" I sent the message.

I waited for his response, but nothing happened.

"Please, I want to talk to you... Please!"

"It's urgent!"

Then I realized my messages weren't getting delivered anymore!

Wait... Did he actually block me?
