"I've a question for you," I took a deep breath, "Let's say if we reverse our roles, and let's assume that I'm in your situation, would you have left me to fight all alone?"
"I'd have run as fast as I could and never looked back," he said.
I sighed with frustration.
"I'd have run so fast, I might have ended up winning the Olympic Gold," he said with a straight face, but it made me smile. This was better than 'Just leave', 'Just leave'!
"Don't smile! I'm not kidding," he said, again with a straight face.
"Sure," I said.
"Bella..." he sighed, "What are you going to achieve by being with me?"
"I'm not trying to achieve anything," I said.
"Then you should think twice," he said, "Just think about it. What are you going to get by being with me?"
"Okay, tell me. What were you trying to achieve when we got together first? Just tell me! Because I honestly wasn't trying to achieve anything even at that time, but apparently that's an important criteria, so tell me what were you trying to achieve?" I said. I guess I had to play these stupid game now!
"I..." he said, and then stopped.
Good! He should shut up!
"Edward..." I went closer to him and took his hand in mine. He didn't shrug it away, so that was a good point!
"Tell me what are you going to achieve by pushing me away?" I asked.
"Mental peace... About the fact that you're not part of this whole mess!" he said immediately and I shook my head with frustration.
"Well, I don't get any mental peace when I'm away from you," I said, "I will be happier with you, however bad the mess is."
"I've not seen anyone so stupid in my whole life," he sighed.
"Why? Have you never seen the mirror?" I joked.
He snorted, "Do you think everything is a joke?"
"It's not," I said, "That's why I'm begging you to stop treating it as a joke."
"What is the point of all this?" he asked, "Everything is way worse than before... I'm sure you'd end up telling me I'm the worst mistake of my life one more time. And I will also end up telling you the same in frustration, even if I don't mean it," he said while looking into my eyes. His eyes were filled with unspoken apologies!
"You're not the only one to regret everything said and done in anger and frustration, you know?" I said.
He thought about it for sometime and then said, "No... There's no point!"
