Hey guys! It's me Ember. I guess u have already read the summary, so I'll just let u know the main reasons why I'm writing this Fic :
1. I felt that I couldn't do the yaoi part enough justice in my last story.
2. I've decided to make KaixTala my official pairing! so thought it would be fun to write about how I imagined their relationship to develop.
The major events in this story will follow the original Beyblade plot, but it will revolve around the lives of the Blitzkrieg boys. Basically my take on their life and relationship.
Disclaimer: I don't own Beyblade or any of Its characters.
Warnings: There will be swearing, mentions of violence, and some innuendos in later chapters.
That's it. So here is the Fic. Kai and Tala are 6 and 7 [respectively] in this chapter.
Refulgence
The chilly wind rattled the windows of the long corridor. It was just 4 in the morning, and on an icy day like this most people would be curled up in bed covered with blankets. Yet, the young boys were up before sunrise and making their way towards the training room. One of them seemed comfortable in the cold, while the other followed him covered in layers of sweaters. "Tala, are you sure you don't need your coat?" The shorter boy asked with concern. "Nah, I love this weather. It's you that needs heating, fire boy." The redhead teased his friend and received a playful punch in return. Tala cursed and ran behind his 'assailant' who looked comical running with his little feet, looking like a snowman due to the fluffy jackets he wore.
They raced to the lower levels of the abbey and were unconcerned when the lights started to fade off. The sun was out, but the rays never penetrated this deep into the building. It was like a maze of concrete and this caused the kids to stand out. They were like little specs of color that added life to this dull place. It was only a matter of time, before even their cheery spirits would be crushed and their eyes would become as dull as their surroundings.
Regardless of all this, Kai and Tala kept running and messing with each other. They laughed and joked, till they reached a dead-end. The sight of the metal door transformed their mood completely. The were terrified of what would happen if the people at the other side heard their laughs. In this place enjoying was a sin. The only emotion they were expected to relish was victory. No matter what the method was...
Tala placed his palm on a detector and opened the door. They entered and were shocked at what they saw.
There was nothing.
The room usually buzzed with activity, but today it was at a total standstill. The training room was empty and dark. The exhaust was also turned off, which caused the room to reek of rot.
A beam of light cut through the shadow and the door at the other end of the room opened. The light illuminated the silhouette of a man. Kai tensed and moved closer to Tala. They stood back to back, ready to face anything together.
Boris walked in. He had a pleased expression and he was clapping. "Very well my boys. Ready as always." Kai wasn't in a mood for pleasantries, so he gathered the courage to ask, "Where are the others?"
Boris faked a smile. "I felt that the world's best bladers deserved a little fun. The rest of the team is waiting outside. We are going out today." The abbey director walked out of the room and motioned for the boys to follow. Kai and Tala had gotten used to their master's mood swings. He was the most unpredictable person they had ever met. They followed him out.
Their outing was going greater than expected. Boris had taken them to the Russian wilderness. The white frost-covered plains and a clear sky gave the surroundings a heavenly look. Kai was sitting in front of the carriage, along with Boris. Tala was seated with Bryan and behind them were Spencer and Ian. Kai was on good terms with his other 'comrades' but none of them had managed to get as close to him as Tala had. The weather had lightened up his mood to the point of Making the trip slightly enjoyable. He started at the snow and wondered how beautiful it would be if he and his redhead friend could get off this carriage and play in the snow. Tala's skill in sculpting ice was remarkable!
Meanwhile, Tala was wondering why his director had planned this outing. It just wasn't like him. Suddenly the carriage came to a halt. Tala looked up and saw an arctic fox.
It was followed by 2 cubs. The family was making the best use of the sun, and the mother was probably teaching the young ones to hunt. The sight made him happy. He suddenly felt a cold hand on his shoulder. "Shoot," Boris said while extending a small gun towards him. Tala wasn't shocked. This was to test their loyalty. When he didn't accept the gun, Boris placed it in the middle of the carriage and looked each of them right in the eye. His cold gaze finally came to rest on Kai. A smirk formed on his face. " why don't you do the honors, young Kai?" He asked in a threatening tone. Kai looked like he had been slapped. "I won't" he dared to defy Boris. "It's wrong," he said firmly. " So are you saying I will ever make my students do something wrong? Don't you trust me, Kai?"
There was a short pause, but Kai signed his own death sentence by saying, " I don't trust you, sir."
The shrill sound of gunshot pierced their ears. Boris had fired on the nearest guard. The sound had caused the fox family to scramble off. "Take us back. Now" Boris yelled at the driver. The ride back was a silent one. All the while, Boris's eyes never left Kai.
The day was almost over, and the boys were supposed to shower and go to sleep. But Tala kept restlessly fidgeting in his room. It had been 4 hours since he had last seen Kai. He could imagine the pain his Phoenix was going through now. He felt like a worthless friend for letting this happen to Kai. He was about to go investigating when Kai walked in. He had a broken lip, and his hand was bent in a weird angle. He also had a whip mark at the corner of his cheek. Tala knew that there were numerous such marks beneath his top. He went to his friend and helped him clean up. He also went to the kitchen to steal some food for Kai since dinner was already over. All the while Kai didn't say anything and kept staring at the ceiling with a vacant expression. "Heyo!" Tala waved his hands in front of the Kai and blocked his view. He wanted to cheer Kai up. They had had worse beatings before, so he couldn't grasp why Kai was acting so different. "I think Ian is still in the showers. Let's go and lock him in!" Tala was being his usual 'sadistic angel' self. This got Kai to get to his feet. Tala pushed him back. "We aren't going anywhere unless you tell me what you were thinking, fire boy"
" You don't want to know, " Kai said in defiance.
"Yes, I do" Tala countered with equal stubbornness.
"Fine. I was thinking how Boris beats me up but always bows before my granddad and treats him well. I... I wish I was as powerful as him. Then Boris and everyone would fear me and we could be happy."
"That's going to happen soon. You are the best blader in here. Once Boris starts to let us train along with the other kids, they will make you their boss"
Tala assured his friend, But Kai frowned. "I want it now Tala, and I want to be stronger than Boris... S-she can help me do it! Even Boris fears her!" Kai finally let his true intentions out. Tala knew exactly who Kai was talking about. That dark Phoenix had bewitched his friend from the moment he had set his eyes on her. "But first let's give Ian a surprise," Kai said with a devious expression and Tala ran to the 'target spot' with his 'accomplice'. Kai had begun to act normal again, but Tala was getting a very bad feeling about all this...

All of us know what's gonna happen next right [original Beyblade story]? So the next chap is going to be Kai returning to the abbey as a teen. The 'fluff' and 'humor' have boarded the bus, and must reach here by chap 3 [unless they get caught in traffic] ;)
So please review!
