This will function as a chapter 0 of a sort.
Here I am going to establish some character information that varies from the canon.
Sally met Gabe shortly after Percy was born.
When Percy was around the age of 4. Gabe began abusing him, threatening to beat Sally should Percy ever mention it to anyone. Percy, being a young, scared child believed him and never said a word. Not to Annabeth, not to his mother, not even to Poseidon himself (Though Percy suspects that Poseidon knows anyway due to him being a god).
Percy has many scars along his chest, upper arms and back that he feels ashamed of/embarrassed about.
Percy, on rare occasions has panic attacks
Percy also has horrific nightmares every night, (Not the typical demigod dreams) where Gabe beats him.
Sally never met Paul.
Gabe has the same death as in canon, Sally turns him to stone with Medusa's decapitated head.
Percy will be considered of average intelligence at the beginning, but he will become far smarter later on. I'm generally quite a fan of smart Percy.
Now to establish exactly what I aim to achieve with this story:
I would like to write a classic, typical "Percy gets betrayed by camp and becomes guardian of the hunt" story, but with some twists (some mentioned above). I would also like to ensure that the story will at least have decent grammar, spelling and punctuation... nothing bothers me more than seeing the wrong your/you're.
