New story! Lets look at what happens to Harry and Ginny between the last chapter in DH and the epilogue.

I will try to upload new chapters regularly but the chapters may be short because of this.

Disclaimer: I do not own the Harry Pooter series. JK Rowling does.

After leaving the Headmaster's office - Headmistress, Harry mentally corrected himself, his two best friends left to join the Weasleys. Harry didn't think he would be able to face Mrs. Weasley or George or Ginny after seeing Fred die no matter how much he wanted to see her-them. Maybe he could have finished this thing quicker, not spent as much time wondering about the Hallows…

Lost in thought, Harry walked to the Gryffindor tower just wanting to go to bed and sleep. It was then that he came across Ginny, she was looking right at him, her eyes still puffy and her hair looking incredibly tangled.

Suddenly, he found himself engulfed in a hug and the everpresent smell of the wildflowers overwhelmed him so much that the months spent worrying about her, remembering the flash of green as the killing curse missed her made him bury his face into her hair and circle his arms around Ginny's waist almost automatically. He could feel her shaking in his arms even if she wasn't making a sound. The fact that he didn't like crying females didn't even register to him when it was Ginny who was crying, it just hurt to see his tough Gin struggling to keep hold of her emotions. Instinctively, he knew what to do, his hand came up to pat and rub her back while he softly spoke in her ear, murmuring reassurances and promises to her even if doubted she was paying attention.

It was several minutes before Ginny finally sniffled and pulled back to discreetly wipe at her eyes. He allowed her the space, knowing how much she hated to cry. He was still holding her loosely, her arms on her sides.

Despite her red-rimmed eyes, he thought that he had never seen her look so beautiful. He wondered how she was the past year at Hogwarts, if she had moved on to someone else and he knew he wouldn't begrudge her for doing so, not when he broke up with her and brought her to danger time and again. But then again, he also knew Ginny, she was never someone to shy away because of danger, she was also one to kept her word and he could still remember the wonderful kiss she bestowed on his 17th birthday -something to remember me by she had said- and he hoped he didn't read the signs wrong when he saw her in the Room of Requirement earlier and she beamed at him and then drove Cho away. The fact that he trusted him enough to break down in front of him looked like a positive sign too.

Suddenly she pulled away from him, hitting him lightly on the shoulder, anger filling her face, "You stupid berk! What were you thinking walking to the forest alone? Did you really think I wouldn't know you were there?"

Harry immediately felt a great relief upon hearing her voice, even though he was faced with rage-filled Ginny.

"I am sorry Gin, I needed to. I promise I will tell you the whole story. I-I did see you but I couldn't stop, I wouldn't have been able to continue otherwise", he said mumbling the last part. His mind filled with the guilt of how many people died because he didn't give himself up before.

"Stop", she said, the anger melting from her face, replaced with the blazing look he had come to love over the last year. "You can't blame yourself for everything, okay? You defeated Voldemort, who knows how long the war would have lasted without you fighting for it?"

Harry was unsurprised that she knew exactly what he was thinking, she had always been like that. He remembered that this was exactly what she did after Sirius died too, she knew he was blaming himself and she got him out of his funk and mostly got him to blame who was actually responsible - Bellatrix, Voldemort and Dumbledore on some level too. He knew really that she was right again but he couldn't help blaming himself though, people always died around him, that's why he broke up with her too.

"I am sorry, I can't help blaming myself though. If only I finished my quest from Dumbledore earlier, he would have gone away sooner. Maybe all these people wouldn't have to die."

Ginny's face twisted in a pain-filled grimace and he wanted to smack himself for reminding her of Fred. She sounded angry when she said, "You don't get to blame yourself for this. All the people who fought knew what they were getting into. They fought for their way of life, for a better future for the future generations. You can't demean their sacrifice by blaming yourself."

She was fully standing, speaking to him in an angry whisper and before he could stop her, ask her to take him back, agree or disagree with her, she just walked away in an angry huff.

She had already disappeared by the time he turned the corner to follow her.
