Jaune Arc was an ordinary child, or well as ordinary as he can be with seven sisters and being from a long line of famous heroes. But outside of that slight discrepancy, Jaune was still just a normal kid. He liked playing games, hanging out with friends, trying new things, and learning as much as possible. So when he finds a small secluded spot in his family's library, nothing too fancy, just a few books and a couple of scrolls. It immediately caught his attention, and he grabbed the first book he could grab. "The Book of Spinjitzu," he read aloud.
"Long before time had a name, The First Spinjitzu Master created the Realm of Reamnent using the six elemental weapons of Spinjitzu. The Scythe of Quakes. The Shurikens of Ice. The Nunchucks of Lightning. The Sword of Fire. The Trident of Waves. And the Fans of Wind. Weapons so powerful no mortal could wield all six at once. After his passing, he entrusted the weapons to his two sons, who swore to protect them. believing that the best way to protect the weapons they chose was to hide them in six locations and have a guardian to look after them."
"Wow, that's so cool," a ten-year-old Jaune voiced aloud after reading the first chapter of his new book.
'I wonder why this is hidden back here,' he thought, looking at the hidden room's mess.
"I know. I'll ask dad!" he exclaims before rushing off to his father.
Jonathan Arc is a large man, easily six foot six, with long blond hair and blue eyes. He's a well-known figure and respected huntsman, a father of eight, and a married man.
Because of these details, he's always busy, but not today. His wife and daughters were out on a girl's day; no Grimm was near the town, and his son was busy reading something he could do all day. "Finally, nothing to do but lay back an-"
"DAD!" Jaune yells at him to get his attention.
"Well, there goes that train of thought." John sighed with a smile. Looking down at his son, "What is it, son?"
"I found this hidden room in the library," Jaune tells him.
"A hidden room?" John asked.
"Yeah, it has all these dusty books and old scrolls," June tells him, describing the room.
"Show me," and Jaune leads his father to the library.
The room was underneath one of the bookshelves in the back of the library, a section most don't go. It looked like what most thought of when they thought of a hidden room. There were cobwebs, everything had at least an inch of dust on it, the walls were covered with strange symbols, and the lighting was almost nonexistent.
After grabbing a flashlight, the two investigate the hidden room; there are many books and at least a hundred scrolls.
"I found it while looking for a book I haven't already read," Jaune tells him.
'of course, you were,' John thought his son was a bundle of uncontrollable energy whenever it came to learning. His son wouldn't be able to sit still and preferred to learn by action for everything but would be able to sit still for hours on end when reading a good book. And in the years his son has been alive, he's read almost every book in the library.
"The books here are really cool. Can I keep them?" Jaune pleaded.
"Hmm, let me look over everything here first, but we own them since they are on our property and in our library," John responded while looking over the older books.
"OK. Can I keep reading this one I've already started?" Jaune asked while holding up the book.
"The Book of Spinjitzu," John read aloud after grabbing the book from Jaune. Flipping through the pages and skimming, "Alright, it doesn't seem bad. I guess you can keep reading it." John conceded, handing the book back to an excited Jaune.
Time Skip
John was sitting in a cleaner, better-lit hidden room with reading glasses. No, he isn't old. It's just that the room's lighting wasn't as good as it should have; yeah, that's it. He was looking over the books. They all mainly focused on a thing called Spinjitzu. Some mention individuals called Elemental Masters, some even given the moniker Spinjitzu masters but outside of that, none of the books he's looked at seem dangerous.
But he hadn't looked over them all, so that could change. He still needed to look over the scrolls. Sighing while rubbing his hand on his face, "How long have I been here" John questions. "Dear Oum, it's already ten pm. I can finish tomorrow," he exclaimed after looking at his watch, getting up, going to his room for some sleep, and hopefully finishing tomorrow.
"So, can I read them now?" Jaune asked his father, waiting outside the room for his father.
"Aaah!" John yelled, frightened by his son's sudden appearance. "I mean, Jaune, what are you doing here?" John asked, trying to save face, not that his son noticed the sudden yelp.
"Oh, I was waiting for you to finish so I could ask if I could read them now," Jaune replied.
"Of course, you did well. I haven't finished looking over them, but the pile closer to the exit are the ones I've checked already. You can start with those, but you can do that tomorrow. It's already late." John told Jaune.
"OK," Jaune replied, heading off to bed.
'What am I going to do with that boy?' John knew of his son's dream of being a hero. He would make sure that that wouldn't happen. He's already lost too many because of his career. He won't let his son go down that road no matter what.
