Authoress Note: Welcome to the second part of Vampire Hunter's Granddaughter series. Thank you to all who have followed me this far into this series. It really does mean a lot to me. This season is going to be full of ups and downs and the question remains will she stay with the Winchesters or will she leave and meet up with them again at some point? Well that will be revealed in this story. You will find out maybe just who Aeron will be with in this story. Without further ado Chapter 1 of Temporary Home.

Chapter 1

The truck driver that had hit them got out of his truck and walked over.

Sam heard a groan from the backseat. He could tell that it was Aeron and she was in pain. Damn. He hadn't even seen that truck coming. He swallowed hard. Hell he was not even coherent enough to know what had happened. He could only hope that he didn't kill his father or brother. Hell he hoped that Aeron wasn't that hurt from this. He didn't want her to be hurt because of his family.

The demon pulled the driver's side door off.

Sam pointed the Colt at him. "Back. Or I'll kill you, I swear to god." Sam said softly in pain.

"You won't. You're saving that bullet for someone else." The demon stated.

Sam cocked the gun. "You wanna bet?"

The demon smiled and left the man causing him to fall to the ground.

Sam uncocks the gun. He dropped his head back in relief. He was thankful that he didn't have to fire the gun.

The man looked at the accident. "Oh my god!"

"Dad?" Sam asked softly.

"Did I do this?"

"Dad! Aeron?"

Aeron groaned from the back seat. At least she made a noise and was alerting him that she was somewhat coherent in the back.

"Dean? Dean!"

SNSNSN

A rescue helicopter had come and the four of them were being loaded up.

John and Dean were unconscious due to the wounds that they already had.

Aeron and Sam were awake.

"Significant passenger side intrusion. Unresponsive. BP is 180 over 60, heart rate is 95, 95."

"Tell me if they're okay!" Sam asked the fighting to look at his brother and father.

"You have to stay still!" The woman told Sam.

"Sam please…" Aeron said softly. "Please…"

"Are they even alive?"

"Sam… They'll be fine." Aeron said softly, remaining still like she was supposed to. "Please… just stay still…"

Sam stopped moving as Aeron asked. It wouldn't get him to see his brother or even see his father. He knew that he was going to have to be looked over.

SNSNSN

Dean sat up and got up out of bed. He walked into the hallway. Where were Sam, his dad, and that strawberry blonde firecracker Aeron at? "Sam? Dad? Aeron? Anybody?" Dean went down the stairs to the front of the hospital. He found a nurse's station. This was freaky. Where were they? "Excuse me. Hi. I, uh, I think I was in a car accident, my dad and my brother, and my friend. I just need to find them."

The nurse didn't even notice that he was there.

"Hello?" Dean snapped his fingers. She still didn't even look at him. "Ok… this is freaky." He went back up the stairs back to the room that he had come out of beforehand. He looked in shock when he found his body on the bed intubated.

Sam entered the room with Aeron behind him.

Dean looked over and smiled seeing the two of them. They were looking at his body. He saw that Sam was worse for wear, but he didn't break any bones. He looked over at Aeron and saw that her forehead had a gauze pad on it and her left arm was in a cast meaning she had broken it. "Sammy! You look good. Considering."

"Oh, no." Sam whispered softly.

Aeron put her hand on his arm. She rubbed it lightly. "It will be alright." She said softly.

Dean looked at the two of them. "Man, tell me you can hear me." They didn't even answer him. Dean closed his eyes. "How's dad? Is he okay? Come on, you're psychic. Give me some ghost whispering or something!"

The Doctor came into the room causing the two young hunters to look at him. "You're father's awake." The Doctor told Sam. "You can go and see if you like. You and your… girlfriend."

Aeron's cheeks flushed. "I'm just his friend." Aeron corrected the Doctor.

Dean let out a sigh of relief. "Thank god."

Sam took a deep breath putting his hands into the pockets of his jeans. "Doc, what about my brother?"

"Well, he sustained serious injury. Blood loss, contusions to his liver and kidney. But it's the head trauma I'm worried about. There's early signs of cerebral edema."

"Well, what can we do?"

"Well, we won't know his full condition until he wakes up. If he wakes up."

"If?"

"I have to be honest…"

"Oh screw you, Doc, I'm waking up."

"Most people with this degree of injury wouldn't have survived this long."

"Oh thanks Doc." Aeron said softly, too soft for the doctor to even hear her, looking at him.

Sam looked over at Aeron. He saw the look of worry on her face. He could see the tears being held back. He knew why. She tried to save Dean's life. Hearing that was tearing her apart. He reached around her and rubbed her right arm in a soothing motion.

"He's fighting very hard. But you need to have realistic expectations."

"Come on, Sam. Go find some hoodoo priest to lay some mojo on me. Sam?" Dean said, looking towards his brother and Aeron.

Aeron looked up at Sam. "We should go and see your dad." She said softly.

Sam nodded his head.

Dean watched the two of them leave. He knew why the Doctor thought that they were together. Just by how close they were. But Dean even knew that they didn't trust each other. Just long enough to go on a hunt together.

SNSNSN

John pulled out a card out of his wallet and held it out to Sam with the hand that wasn't being held by a sling. "Here. Give them my insurance."

Sam took the card and looked at it. A small smile came to his lips. "Elroy McGillicutty?"

"And his two loving sons. So, what else did the doctor say about Dean?"

"Nothing. Look. The Doctors won't do anything, then we'll have to, that's all." Sam said softly.

Aeron shook her head. "How Sam?"

"I don't know. You and I can find some hoodoo priest and lay some mojo on him."

Aeron crossed her arms the best that she could with having a big bulky cast on her arm. "Oh yeah that just sounds like a perfect thing to do."

"We'll look for someone." John told the two of them.

"Yeah…"

"But Sam, I don't know if we're gonna find anyone."

"Why not? I found that faith healer before."

"Right, that was, that was one in a million."

"So what? Do we just sit here with our thumbs up our ass?"

"No, I said we'd look. Alright? I'll check under every stone. Where's the Colt."

"Your son is dying and you're worried about the Colt?" Sam hissed.

"Sam…" Aeron said softly.

"We're hunting this demon, and maybe it's hunting us too. That gun may be our only card."

"It's in the trunk. They dragged the car to a yard off of I-83."

"Alright. You've gotta clean out that trunk before some junk man sees what's inside."

"I already called Bobby. He's like an hour out, he's gonna tow the Impala back to his place."

"Alright. You two go and meet up with Bobby. You get the Colt and bring it back to me. And you watch out for hospital security."

"I think I've got it covered." Sam said, moving towards the door.

John picked up a sheet of paper. "Hey here. I made a list of things I need, have Bobby pick them up for me."

Sam took it from his dad. He read over. "Acacia? Oil of Abramelin? What's this stuff for?"

Aeron's eyes widened with the one. Acacia it was used to summon demons. She looked at John as he lied to Sam.

"Protection."

The two of them walked out of the room.

Dean looked at his father after the door closed. "Well, you sure know something."

SPNSPN

The two of them had met up with Bobby at the junkyard.

Sam looked at the car. "Oh man, Dean is gonna be pissed."

Aeron looked at him with wide eyes. "Pissed oh no I don't think that will be the proper word for how he will feel when he sees his baby." Aeron shook her head. "Hell if this was my car I would be murdering the person that hit into us."

Sam looked at her with wide eyes. She owned a classic car as well so that was the reason why she was saying it and he knew that it was true. She probably would murder the person that would have hit the car.

"Look, Sam. This… this just ain't worth a tow. I say we empty the trunk, sell the rest for scrap." Bobby said to Sam with a sad look.

Aeron and Sam looked at Bobby like he had grown another head.

"No." Sam said, looking back at the car. "Dean would kill me if we did that. When he gets better he's gonna want to fix this."

"There's nothing to fix. The frame's a pretzel, and the engine's ruined. There's barely any parts worth salvaging."

"Bobby…" Aeron shook her head. She loved the man as a father figure but damn it he was going to have to get it through his head of what Sam was telling him.

"Listen to me, Bobby. If there's only one working part, that's enough. We're not just going to give up on…"

"Okay…" Bobby said quietly. "You got it."

"Here, uh, dad asked for you to get this stuff for him." Sam said, handing him the list.

Bobby looked at it frowning. "What's John want with this?"

"Protection from the demon." Sam said in confusion.

Bobby gave him a look.

"What?"

"Nothing, it's just um…"

"Bobby? What's going on?"

Aeron cleared her throat. "Hey Bobby."

"What is it Anne?" Bobby asked, looking at the young female hunter.

"Wondering if you could drop us off at your place so we can get my car."

"Of course."

Aeron looked at Sam and reached into her jacket pocket pulling out the keys. She held them out to Sam.

"What?" He asked in confusion of why she was giving him her keys to her car.

"Well I won't be able to drive like I normally would." She let out a soft sigh. "I don't think I'm gonna regret this, but can you drive my challenger?"

Sam took the keys from her small hand. "Of course…"

"Thanks Sam."

SNSNSN

John sat next to Dean's bed.

Dean looked at his father. "Come on, dad. You've gotta help me. I've gotta get better, I've gotta get back in there. I mean, you haven't called a soul for help. You haven't even tried. Aren't you going to do anything? Aren't you even going to say anything?" Dean walked around the bed. Why wasn't his father doing something? Anything? "I've done everything you've ever asked me. Everything. I have given everything I've ever had. Including trusting that little firecracker Aeron. Which you know ain't easy because she is a stubborn pistol. And you're just going to sit there and you're going to watch me die? I mean, what the hell kind of father are you?" Dean shouted. "What was that?" He asked himself moving towards the hallway. He jumped back when a spirit rushed past him. He looked back at his dad who was still sitting with him. "I take it you didn't see that." Dean ran out of the room.

SNSNSN

Sam pulled Aeron's purple challenger into the parking lot of the hospital. He was pissed. No, that wasn't even the word. He had snapped at Aeron on the way there. Because she knew that the one thing that he had said to his dad before they had left was about the first thing that was on his father's list and then he finds out that it was to summon a demon.

Aeron got out of the car and grabbed the bag as Sam got out of the car as well. She handed him the bag. "I can't believe that your dad is thinking of doing this."

"You and me both." Sam said as they walked into the hospital.

"Summoning such a thing… that's opening the gates to hell so to speak."

Sam looked at her. "You know more than what you let on."

Aeron chuckled a little bit. "Well… it comes with being a hunter. With how many things I have hunted over the years."

Sam shook his head. He should've known. She had been a hunter for a while now and probably hunting things a lot more than he did when he decided to go to college at 18. So perhaps she really did have more hunting years under her belt.

The two of them walked into the room that John was in.

"Sammy! Aeron. Tell me one of you two can hear me. There's something in the hospital. Now, you've got to bring me back and we've got to hunt this thing." Dean pleaded, hoping that one or the other would hear him. He touched Aeron's arm.

Aeron turned her head when she felt someone touch her. Her pale brows furrowed together. What the hell was that? She shook it off.

"You're quiet." John said, looking at the two of them.

Sam turned and hurled the bag onto the bed. He was angry with John. Well that was an understatement. He was pissed. "Did you think I wouldn't find out?" He hissed at his father.

"What are you talking about?" John asked, his brows furrowed in confusion.

"Oh don't play coy John." Aeron said, putting her right hand on her hip. She narrowed her eyes on the older man.

"That stuff from Bobby, you don't use it to ward off a demon, you use it to summon one. You're planning on bringing the demon here, aren't you? Having some stupid macho showdown?!"

"I have a plan Sam."

"That's exactly my point! Dean is dying and you have a plan! You know what, you care more about killing this demon than you do saving your own son."

"Sam." Aeron said with wide eyes. Granted she knew that Sam and Dean were kind of close, but damn him going off like this when Dean was in bed dying.

"No, no, no guys don't do this!" Dean yelled.

"Do not tell me how I feel! I am doing this for Dean." John said, narrowing his eyes at his youngest son.

"How? How is revenge going to help him? You're not thinking about anybody but yourself, it's the same selfish obsession!"

"Come on guys, don't do this!" Dean yelled. But he knew that no one would hear him.

"You know, it's funny. I thought it was your obsession too! This demon killed your mother, killed your girlfriend. You begged me to be part of this hunt. Now if you'd kill that damn thing when you had the chance none of this would have happened. Hell Ron would have done it."

"It was possessing you, dad. I would have killed you too. Aeron wouldn't have done it. Shoot you with rock salt, yes, but not a real bullet." Sam said, narrowing his eyes at his father.

"Yeah, and your brother will be awake right now."

"Shut up the both of you!" Dean yelled.

"Go to hell." Sam hissed.

"I should have never taken you along in the first place. I knew it was a mistake. I knew it was wrong…."

"I said shut up!" Dean hit the glass of water that was on the table causing it to hit Aeron and crumple to the floor.

"What the hell…" Aeron said looking down at her clothes that were now soaked with water.

Sam and John looked at one another.

Dean's eyes widened. "Dude. I full on Swayzed that mother." He crumpled in pain and began to flicker. "What is it?"

"Something's going on out there." John jerked his head telling the two of them to go and check it out.

Aeron and Sam ran out of the room to go and find out what was going on. The two of them gasped. It was Dean.

"No…" Sam said softly as tears came to his eyes.

Aeron turned away from what was going on in the room and turned into Sam.

"Still no pulse."

"Okay, let's go again. 360."

"Charging."

Sam allowed the tears to fall.

Aeron wrapped her arms around him, rubbing his back. It was hard to do so when he was still looking in the room as they tried to save his brother.

Dean came in behind the two of them and saw a ghostly figure floating above him. "You get the hell away from me." He ran to the bed and faced the thing to get it off of his body. "I said get back!" He yelled.

Sam blinked in confusion.

Aeron's eyes went wide.

Dean grabbed onto the spirit only to be hurled off and it's gone.

"We have a pulse. We're back into sinus rhythm." The nurse said.

Dean ran into the hallway looking for the spirit that was over his body.

Sam let out a sigh of relief.

Aeron looked at Sam. She patted him lightly on the arm.

"Don't worry Sammy. I'm not going anywhere. I'm getting that thing before it gets me. It's some kind of spirit, but I could grab it. And if I can grab it, I can kill it." Dean said coming back to his brother's side.

Sam looked over to where Dean was still fairly confused. What the hell happened?

SPNSPN

Sam looked at Aeron and saw the look of confusion on her face as well. "Did you feel that?"

"Yeah." She said, nodding her head.

Sam grabbed her arm. "Come on. We're going to tell my dad."

"Right."

The two of them left Dean's room. They walked into John's room.

John looked at the two of them. He saw that they were pale in the face. Something happened. "What happened?"

Sam cleared his throat. "It was Dean." Sam said softly. "They brought him back… but dad… we felt something in there."

"What do you mean, you two felt something?" John asked, looking at the two of them like they had grown two heads.

"I mean it felt like, like Dean. Like he was there, just out of eyeshot or something. I don't know if it's my psychic thing or what, it… but do you think it's even possible? I mean do you think his spirit could be around?" Sam asked, looking at his father.

"Anything's possible. But that wouldn't explain Ron."

"I can feel things from time to time. I never knew what John was. I always pushed it aside when I felt things." Aeron told John. "I didn't want people to see me as a damn freak."

"Well, there's one way to find out." Sam said, tucking his hands into his pockets. He had an idea. He wasn't sure if Aeron would go along for it or not.

"Where are you going?"

"I gotta pick something up, I'll be back."

"Wait, Sam. I promise I won't hunt this demon. Not until we know Dean's okay."

Sam nodded his head and left the room.

"You aren't leaving without me Sam. That's my car that you're taking mister and I am not having you drive it without me in it." Aeron said following him out of the room.

John shook his head. Perhaps with what he was going to do his boys would be fine with Aeron with them. He could only hope that Aeron would stay with his boys. Aeron was the missing piece. Someone to keep his two sons together and perhaps they would be able to work together with no problems. That was something that he was hoping for, that was for sure.

SNSNSN

Aeron looked at the ouija boards. She looked back at Sam. "Are you certain about this?"

"It's the only way that I can think of to talk to Dean."

Aeron ran her good hand through her hair. "Alright." She said softly picking up the board that would work the best for Sam.

"That board?" He questioned looking at her.

"It will be the easiest to work with Sam." She said, handing it to him. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her wallet. She awkwardly took some money out of her wallet. She handed it to him. "Come on, we have major work to do."

Sam nodded his head.

SNSNSN

The two of them entered Dean's room. Sam was clutching a brown paper bag in his arms.

"Hey. I think maybe you're around. And if you are, don't make fun of us for this, but um, well there's one way we can talk." Sam said, pulling out the box that Aeron had picked up that was called the Mystical Talking Board.

Dean folded his arms and groaned when he saw. "Oh, you two gotta be kidding me."

Sam circled around the bed and sat down on the floor cross legged on the floor. He opened the box up and pulled out the board. He set it up. "Dean? Dean, are you here?"

Aeron came around the bed and stood behind Sam.

"God, I feel like I'm at a slumber party." Dean complained as he sat down across from Sam. "Alright Sam. This isn't going to work."

Sam placed his hands on the pointer.

Dean placed his fingers on it and he concentrated. It slid to yes. "I'll be damned."

Sam laughed in relief.

Aeron smiled and patted Sam on the shoulder. "This is good."

"It's good to hear from you, man. It hasn't been the same without you, Dean."

"Damn straight." Dean said as he placed his fingers back onto the pointer and it slid across the board.

"Dean, what? H? U? Hunt? Hunting? What? Are you hunting?"

The pointer slid to yes.

"It's in the hospital. What are you hunting? Do you know what it is?"

"One question at a time, dude." Dean complained.

"What is it?"

The pointer begins to slid P.

"I don't think it's killing people. I think it's taking them. You know, when their time's just up."

"A reaper. Dean. Is it after you?"

The pointer slid to yes.

"Well that isn't good news." Aeron said, shaking her head.

Sam looked up at her and nodded his head. He swallowed the lump in his throat. "If it's here naturally, there's no way to stop it."

"Yeah, you can't kill death."

"Man, you're, um,"

Aeron put her hand on his shoulder giving it a light squeeze.

"I'm screwed, Sam."

"No. No, no, no, um, there's gotta be another way." He quickly stood up.

Aeron backed away from him.

Sam began to pace back and forth.

"Sam there's no way to stop the reaper." Aeron said, looking at him in concern.

Sam looked at her. "There's gotta be a way. Dad'll know what to do, Aeron." He grabbed her arm and dragged her out of the room.

"And I am telling you Sam there is no way to protect Dean from that reaper."

"Dad will know something about Aeron , I am sure of it."

"Well try not to dislocate my shoulder there Sam by pulling me."

"Sorry." He told her to move a bit slower so he didn't hurt her. That was the last thing that he wanted to do because she was helping him the best that she could and knew how.

The two of them went into John's room and saw that he was gone.

"Dammit." Aeron said with a groan. "I am really going to have to shoot him the next time that I see him."

Sam looked at her.

Aeron rolled her eyes. "With rock salt."

Sam picked up his father's journal. "Dad."

"Come on. Let's get back to Dean's room."

The two of them left John's room and walked back towards Dean's room with Sam carrying the book in his hand. They walked back into Dean's room.

Sam sat down on the edge of Dean's bed and Aeron sat down in the empty chair. "Hey. So dad wasn't in his room."

"Where is he?" Dead asked. Where the hell could his father have gone?

"But I got dad's journal, so who knows? Maybe there's something here." He said flipping through the pages.

Aeron got up from her seat and moved over to where Sam was.

Sam looked over at his brother's form every once and awhile.

"We will figure something out, Sam." She said softly. "There has to be something. Granted I am a bit skeptical."

Sam nodded his head.

"Thanks for not giving up on me, you two." Dean said softly.

Sam turned the page to reapers.

Dean leaned over and read what it said. "Son of a bitch." Dean ran out of the room.

Aeron looked at the page. "Well… it looks like there is nothing there." She said, shaking her head.

"There has to be something in here. Anything." Sam told her.

Aeron put her uncasted hand on his. "I am sure that we will find something. Anything to help your brother. I don't want you to go through what I have for a long time." She admitted.

Sam looked at her with wide eyes.

Aeron cleared her throat and moved away from him. "I'll…" She swallowed the lump that formed in her throat and ran her hand through her hair. "I'll leave ya to it." She moved away from him. She went by the window and looked out. She crossed her arms. She closed her eyes. Painful memories swam back into her mind. She clutched her upper arm with her good hand. No the past was done, it caused her to be who she was now. There was no point in dwelling on the past. Not any more. She couldn't. Not now. Not trying to save Dean.

Sam looked over at Aeron. Something was wrong with her, but what was it? She said she didn't want him to go through the same thing that she was going through. What did that mean? He didn't want to push her though. He moved towards the window after shutting the book. He ran a hand through his hair.

Aeron looked at him. "Anything?" She asked softly. She was hoping that Sam had found something. Anything to help his brother. If not then this was going to turn more and more like her life and she didn't want Sam to go through that. Not these dangers. Always hunting and becoming reckless. Very reckless. Not giving a damn about his own life. Hell that was were she was now and she was beginning to heal all thanks to the Winchesters.

Sam shook his head. "No." He slipped his hands into his pockets. "Dean, are you here?" Sam looked around. "I couldn't find anything in the book. I don't know how to help you. But I'll keep trying alright? As long as you keep fighting. I mean, come on you can't, you can't leave me here alone with dad, we'll kill each other, you know that."

Areon patted his arm lightly and then held it for a minute giving it a light squeeze.

"Dean, you've got to hold on. You can't go, man, not now. We were just starting to be brothers again. Can you hear me?"

"Sam…"

He looked down into Aeron's blue gray eyes. "What?" He asked, swallowing the lump that formed in his throat.

"We will find a way."

SNSNSN

Dean looked out a dark window. "Look, I'm sure you've heard this before, but… you've gotta make an exception, you've gotta cut me a break."

"Stage three. Bargaining." The reaper said, looking at him.

"I'm serious. My family's in danger. See, we're kind of in the middle of this, um war, and they need me."

"The fight's over."

"No, it isn't."

"It is for you. Dean. You're not the first soldier I've plucked from the field. They all feel the same. They can't leave. Victory hangs in the balance. But they're wrong. The battle goes on without them."

"My brother. He could die without me."

"Maybe he will, maybe he won't. Nothing you can do about it. It's an honorable death. A warrior's death."

"I think I'll pass on the seventy two virgins, thanks. I'm not that into prude chicks anyway."

"That's funny. You're very cute."

"There's no such thing as an honorable death. My corpse is going to rot in the ground and my family is going to die! Hell a girl that my dad brought in Aeron is going to die! No. I'm not going with you, I don't care what you do."

"Well, like you said. There's always a choice. I can't make you come with me. But you're not getting back in your body. And that's just facts. So yes, you can stay. You'll stay here for years. Disembodied, scared, and over the decades it'll probably drive you mad. Maybe you'll even get violent."

"What are you saying?"

"Dean. How do you think angry spirits are born? They can't let go and they can't move on. And you're about to become one. The same thing you hunt."

SNSNSN

John, the demon he had summoned and his two minions were a circle around the circle that John had made to summon the demon.

"It's very unseemly, making deals with devils. How do I know this isn't just another trick?" The demon asked, looking at John.

"It's no trick. I will give you the Colt and the bullet, but you've got to help Dean. You've got to bring him back." John bargained. He was going to do anything to save his son.

"Why, John, you're a sentimentalist. If only your boys knew how much their daddy loved them."

"It's a good trade. You care a hell of a lot more about this gun than you do Dean."

"Don't be so sure. He killed some people very special to me. But still, you're right, he isn't much of a treat. And neither is your other son. Or that simpering little girl that is with them."

John lowered his head and looked at him.

"You know the truth, right? About Sammy? And the other children?"

"Yeah. I've known for a while."

"But Sam doesn't, does he? You've been playing dumb."

John swallowed the lump in his throat. Sam didn't know and yes he was playing dumb. "Can you bring Dean back? Yes or no?"

"No. But I know someone who can. It's not a problem."

"Good." John said, looking slightly relieved. "Before I give you the gun, I'm going to want to make sure that Dean's okay. With my own eyes."

"Oh, John, I'm offended. Don't you trust me?"

John shook his head.

"Fine."

"So we have a deal?"

"No, John, not yet. You still need to sweeten the pot."

"With what?"

"There's something else I want, as much as that gun. Maybe more."

SNSNSN

Dean was sitting down on the bed in the room.

The reaper was behind him. She stroked his hair tenderly. "It's time to put the pain behind you."

"And where?" Dean asked, his voice broken. He didn't want to leave. Sam needed him. His dad needed him. He was pretty sure that Aeron needed him as well.

"Sorry. I can't give away the big punchline. Moment of truth. No changing your mind later. So what's it going to be?"

Dean looked at her.

The lights began to flicker.

"What are you doing that for?"

"I'm not doing it."

They both turned and saw black smoke pouring out of the vent on the floor.

"What the hell?"

"You can't do this! Get away!" The reaper yelled.

"What's happening?!"

The reaper screamed as the demon went into her. She turns and her eyes are yellow. "Today's your lucky day kid." The demon put her hand on Dean's forehead.

Dean began to convulse.

SNSNSN

Sam was sitting on the edge of Dean's bed.

Dean gasped, waking up choking on the tube.

"Dean?" Sam jumped up off of the bed. He moved quickly to the hallway. "Help! I need help!"

Aeron ran her fingers through Dean's hair. "Sh… Sh… Dean, it will be okay."

"I can't explain it. The edema vanished. The internal contusions are healed. Your vitals are good. You have some kind of angel watching over you." The Doctor told Dean.

"Thanks, doc." Dean said softly.

The Doctor left the three of them alone.

"So you said a reaper was after me?"

"Yeah."

"How'd I ditch it?"

"You got me."

"Have no clue." Aeron said, shaking her head.

"Dean, you really don't remember anything?"

"No. Except this pit in my stomach. Sam, something's wrong."

A knock on the door and John was there.

Aeron looked over at the door. "Hello John."

John nodded his head. "How are you feeling, dude?" John asked Dean softly.

"Fine, I guess. I'm alive."

"That's what matters."

"Where were you last night?" Sam asked John angrily.

Aeron's eyes widened. "Sam."

"I had some things to take care of." John told Sam.

"Well, that's specific."

"Come on, Sam." Dean said, looking at his little brother.

"Did you go after the demon?"

"No."

"You know, why don't I believe you right now?"

Aeron put her hand on his arm. "Sam… not here."

John swallowed the lump in his throat. "Can we not fight? You know, half the time we're fighting, I don't know what we're fighting about. We're just butting heads. Sammy, I, I've made some mistakes. But I've always done the best I could. I just don't want to fight anymore, okay?"

"Dad, are you alright?"

"Yeah. Yah, I'm just a little tired. Hey, son, would you, uh, would you mind getting me a cup of caffeine? Take Iron with you?"

"Yeah. Yeah, sure."

"John…"

"Go with him Aeron." He said using her real name.

Aeron nodded her head and followed Sam out of the room.

Sam looked over at her and saw the look that she had on her face. "What is it?"

Aeron looked up at him. "Well… your dad…"

"What?"

"He has never called me Aeron." She admitted. Never in the time that they had known each other he never called her Aeron.

Sam's eyes widened. "You think my dad did something."

Aeron ran a hand through her hair. "I don't know, Sam. But if he did then…" She shook her head. "Nah. He just might have wanted to talk to Dean."

Sam nodded his head.

Sam walked back to the room with coffee in his hands with Aeron walking behind him. Sam looked into a room and saw his dad on the floor. "Dad?!"

Aeron gasped and saw Sam running into the room. She saw Sam next to his father. Aeron felt tears stinging her eyes. No! No she couldn't see this. She ran the other way.

"HELP!" Sam yelled for help for his father.

Aeron ran out of the hospital. She felt her walls crumbling down. She bit her lip. She couldn't believe it. John did the unthinkable. John had done something. And she was wrong thinking that he didn't do something like sell his soul to have Dean back.

The Doctors and nurses attempted to save John's life.

Dean and Sam stood in the doorway.

A nurse tries to push them out of the room.

"No, no, no, it's our dad!" Dean said softly. "Come on." He pleaded. He wanted his father to come back.

"Okay, stop compressions." The doctor said,

"Come on, come on."

"Still no pulse." The nurse said check.

"Okay, that's it everybody. I'll call it. Time of death 10:41 am."

"Where the hell is she?" Dean yelled.

"I have no idea Dean. She was with me. I have no idea where she went." Sam told his brother looking at him.

Dean messed his hair up with both of his hands. "Damn it. Where the hell could she have gone."

"We will find her, Dean. Her car is still sitting in the parking lot. I checked." Sam said, shaking his head. "Plus I have the keys."

"You have the keys to her baby?"

"Yes."

"How the hell did you manage that one?"

"Aeron can't drive. Not with a cast on her arm."

Dean nodded his head.

They walked into the waiting room and saw Aeron on one of the chairs with her knees to her chest and her head buried.

"Huh I guess we found her." Dean said, shaking his head.

Sam shoved his brother a little bit and walked over to Aeron. "Aeron…"

Aeron looked up. Her blue gray eyes were red and puffy. She had been crying.

"Aeron are you alright?" He asked softly.

"I'm fine."

He could tell that she wasn't. But he wouldn't press the matter. Not in the least bit. He didn't want to hurt her any more than he could tell that she was hurting.

She stood shakily up on her feet. "I take it you boys are ready to go?" She said softly. Her voice cracked a little bit.

"Yeah…"

"Shall I alert Bobby?"

"No, I'll call him." Sam said, offering her a small smile.

"Okay…"
