Oops, I Did It Again – Chapter 50

"Ma, I don't need to spend the night somewhere else. We are already married." Jane tried to reason with her mother. "Constance, instead of laughing can you help me out here?"

"But Jane darling, I think it is funny. I have never seen you two act like this. I am so happy Maura and I do not act like this." Constance said as she laughed at the situation.

"Mother, I want Jane with me please do something." Maura asked her mother.

"Well, with Nicky and Giana here, I doubt the two of you are going to get to do anything anyways as you know they will come to your room sometime during the night, they always do. They love you and have missed you." Angela replied.

"Well, that is another reason we should be in the same bed. They are used to us being together in the same bed." Jane continued her reasoning with her mother.

"Oh, I guess you have a point." Angela said.

"Aunt Angela, the children love to share a bed with Jane and Maura and now that I know that they are already married I have no problem with it." Arianna stated.

"Thank you, Arianna." Jane said as she smiled at her cousin.

"Oh, don't thank me cousin you are so on my list. You got married and didn't tell me. I thought we were the best of friends not just cousins. We normally told each other everything. I guess I have been replaced. Out of sight out of mind." Arianna faked tears and Jane laughed at her.

"Come on Ari, I already said we didn't tell anyone, not even my coworkers knew. We had to tell HR and Maura's lawyer but that was it until recently." Jane explained to her cousin. "And you haven't been replaced. I love you, but I am in love with Maura. She is my person, she is my everything." Jane said as she smiled at Maura, who snuggled into her side.

"And I am not your best man, what's up with that? Like I said I have been replaced." Arianna was not letting Jane off of the hook, she was going to keep edging her on, she enjoyed doing this to her favorite cousin.

"Can we just go to bed. I would like to snuggle up with my wife. We have a big day tomorrow in case you forgot." Jane was getting tired she really did want to go to bed. She didn't want to be a grumpy person in the morning.

Angela and Constance had already left the room and retreated to their respective rooms. They would let the younger folks handle this conversation. They knew that Arianna wasn't upset she was just having some fun with her cousin.

Eventually Arianna gave up and went to bed. She knew the children would get up at some point during the night and sneak into Jane and Maura's room. They loved Jane and Maura. They knew that Jane and Maura were coming to Italy to spend some time with them but they also knew that it was just a few days so they would spend every minute they could with them while they were in the states.

Jane and Maura finally made their way up to their room they were both tired. They snuggled up and kissed and did some heavy petting but were too tired to do anything else. They had their pajamas on as they knew the children would be in sometime during the night. They were actually looking forward to it. They hadn't got to spend too much time with them since they arrived as their flight was delayed a few hours.

Within an hour of laying down they were both sound asleep. Around 5 AM Nicky and Giana climbed in bed with them. They just snuggled up and fell back to sleep. Maura had an alarm set for 7 AM as they needed to get up and have breakfast before getting dressed for their 11 AM wedding.

They hugged the children when the alarm went off at 7 AM within ten minutes they were all up and headed downstairs for breakfast. The chef had cooked Belgium waffles with strawberries and whip cream. The children were so happy they loved Belgium waffles. They were eating and barely acknowledged their mother, Arianna, when she entered the room. Arianna was used to this as she didn't exist when the children were with Jane and Maura.

Constance loved that the children liked the Belgium waffles she had asked the chef to prepare them as they were Maura's favorite also and she wanted this morning to be special for Maura.

At precisely 8 AM Rick arrived in a supped-up golf cart to take Jane over to his house to change and get ready. Maura would be getting ready in her room. The hairdresser and make-up artist were due to arrive a little after 8 AM to begin getting her ready for her wedding. Arianna and Nicky went with Jane. Arianna was going to do Jane's hair and make-up with the help of Kate, Olivia and Alex. Rick was going to play games with Nicky on one of his gaming systems while the ladies had their hair and make-up done.

At 10:30 AM Rick and Nicky got dressed and went to check on Jane. They knocked on the door and Rick asked, "Is everyone decent in there?"

Kate just shook her head, "Yes, Castle we are decent and we are dressed. You guys can come in."

Jane was putting on her Boston Red Sox cuff links and Rick just smiled at Jane when he said her cuff links. "Had to get the Red Sox in there eh?"

"Yeah, I wouldn't be me if I didn't." Jane said as she smiled back at him. "Besides my co-workers gave them to me as an early wedding present. They knew I wanted to wear my Boston Red Sox jersey and they knew I couldn't exactly do that when marrying Maura so they thought I could get away with these. I love them."

"Does Maura know you will be wearing those?" Rick asked. He was curious, he didn't dare do anything like that when he married Kate. Of course, he didn't think about it either.

"No, she doesn't know that I have these. If she did, she would probably protest but once we are at the altar she won't care. She doesn't even know what I will be wearing. She told me I could wear a dress or a tux, whatever I was comfortable in so long as I was at the altar to marry her." Jane stated, she knew her wife well enough to know that she will be so excited about the wedding that a pair of cuff links will not deter her. Now if she had chosen to wear her jersey that would be a different matter.

"Those are Jane's something new." Kate stated. "Arianna had presented her with an antique hair barrette that she is letting her borrow. She has one of her mother-in-law's handkerchief as something old that Maura presented her with this morning at breakfast. She has her badge on that has blue on it that she is using as her something blue."

At 10:45 everyone made their way over to the Isles' house. Jane hung back out of sight so no one would see her, especially her mother. She didn't want Angela fussing over her. Arthur approached Frost and let him know that he would like to speak to Jane before the wedding.

Frost escorted Arthur over to where Jane was and let them speak. Arthur smiled when he saw Jane. He presented Jane with a very nice Cuban cigar and told her to put it in her pocket. He told her they would smoke it together later and that it was a tradition in his family for the groom to carry one in his vest pocket.

He knew that Jane was not a groom but being as she was marrying his little girl, he found it fitting to share the tradition with her just as if Maura was marrying a man. He didn't want to treat her any different and he wanted to share the tradition with her as he only had the one daughter and he knew this marriage would last. Jane and Maura loved each other too much for it not to last.

Jane appreciated the tradition and was glad that Arthur was sharing it with her and she understood how difficult this conversation was for Arthur. He gave her a big hug and then Frankie appeared to walk his sister down the aisle. Once Jane was in place, Arthur went to find Maura and get ready to walk her down the aisle.

At 10:30 Maura was going over everything to make sure she was truly ready. She had her something old, a beautiful rose broach that belong to Jane's nonna that Jane had given to her at breakfast when they had agreed to exchange something old with each other.

Giana had given her a nice pair of hair clips to wear in her hair that match what she would be wearing today. Maura thought that was so sweet. She loved them and thought that Arianna might have had a hand in picking them out. They were very stylish. Arianna had told Maura months ago that they would handle her 'something new.'

Angela had let her borrow a beautiful necklace that had belonged to her mother. She had checked with Constance to make sure it would fit in with Maura's look for the day. Prior to the wedding Constance was the only one to see Maura's dress.

Constance had helped her pick at a garter and they made sure it had blue in it so it would count as her something blue. With everything in place Maura was ready to marry Jane (again).

At 10:55 AM Maura and her entourage made their way to the aisle. Maura hung back out of sight with her father until it was time for her to walk down the aisle. Maura was getting so nervous. She just wanted to run down the aisle to Jane.

Nicky and Giana were so cute walking down the aisle side-by-side. They loved their Aunt Jane and Aunt Maura and were so happy that they had asked them to be a part of their wedding. They were the last ones to walk down the aisle before the wedding march started to play.

Everyone stood up as Maura who was escorted by her father started to walk down the aisle. Maura was wearing a silk charmeuse wedding dress with an empire waist and a 20-foot train. She had a huge smile on her face and when she saw Jane she started tearing up.

Jane was dressed in a light gray tuxedo with a white shirt and a darker gray cummerbund. She thought about wearing a dress but she wanted Maura to stand out with her dress. Plus, she knew that she would be more comfortable in a tuxedo. Her tux was custom fit to her body so she looked sharp in it. Frankie and Frost were wearing matching tuxedos.

Jane's smile was as large as Maura's. they were both so happy to be going through this ceremony. They wanted to share their marriage ceremony with their family and friends. Only a handful of people knew that they were already married.

Arthur presented Maura's hand to Jane and then gave Maura a kiss and then leaned over and gave Jane a kiss. That was not part of the rehearsal so Jane was surprised by his action. They both smiled at him as he turned and walked to his seat next to Constance.

Korsak made a little noise to get their attention, they both turned and looked at him still holding hands. Korsak then started, "Family and friends, we are gathered here today to witness the union of Jane and Maura. They have declared their love for one another and wish to enter into a life commitment to each other."

"Jane, do you take Maura to be your life partner and cherish her always in good times and bad, in sickness and health, for richer and poorer for all the days of your life?"

Jane quickly replied, "Yes, I do."

"Maura, do you take Jane to be your life partner and cherish her always in good times and bad, in sickness and health, for richer and poorer for all the days of your life?"

Maura quickly replied, "I do. I do."

"Jane would you please recite your vows that you wish to share with Maura."

"Maura, I'm not a person with big words. I'm not a mushy talking person either. It is not my style. I can tell you here in front of our family and friends that I love you more than I have loved anyone in my life. Since I first met you, I knew that I wanted to spend time with you. You have a calming nature and put me at ease so fast. A simple touch from you can calm me down."

"My Ma is probably wondering why I didn't meet you earlier in my life so she would have fewer gray hairs. We met when we were supposed to meet. We brought our life experiences with us. We shared our experiences, good and bad with each other and made each other better versions of ourselves. I want to please you to make you happy. I want to love you and make love to you. I want to shelter and protect you from harm. I want to spend all of my time with you."

"I love my job but I love you more. I promise to love and cherish you for the rest of my days on this earth. I don't know how long that will be but I do know that as long as you are by my side, they will be happy times. Thank you for loving me, Maura." Jane quickly leaned over and kissed Maura. Then she turned and just smiled at Korsak.

He smiled back at Jane and then turned to Maura and asked her, "Maura, would you please recite your vows that you wish to share with Jane."

"Jane, that very first Wednesday that you walked into my office, I knew there was something special about you. It took me a few more weeks to figure out what that was exactly. I felt so at home with you, at peace. You were a comforting presence for me. I haven't felt that way with very many people."

"You asked for me to meet with you outside of our normal setting and normally I wouldn't do that but with you I automatically felt like it was the right thing to do. I made accommodations for you, for us. I say us, because it allowed me to get out of the office also. To sit and talk with you on a park bench was so refreshing. It allowed you to be more open with me and me with you. Our friendship started on that park bench and it continued."

"I was scared when you first asked me out, but at the same time I was comfortable going out with you. I wanted to spend all of my spare time with you. The more time I spent with you the more I fell in love with you. I love you Jane Rizzoli and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

"I am your life-long best friend forever and I am going to love you and comfort you. I might even laugh occasionally at some of your silly jokes. I promise to let you eat cheeseburgers once in a while and most of all I promise to love you as long as I breathe." Maura leaned over and kissed Jane, she knew she wasn't supposed to but what was Korsak going to do? He wouldn't stop the wedding.

"May I have the rings please?" Korsak stated as he looked over at Nicky. Nicky and Giana walked over and placed the ring pillow in front of Korsak. Nicky and Giana each took a ring off of the pillow and handed them to Korsak and then they walked back to their seats.

Korsak held both rings in his clasped hand and held them in front of Jane and Maura and said, "These rings are a token of your love and your pledge to each other. Do you give this ring as a sign of your love and devotion?"

Jane and Maura said, "I do" in unison. As you place the ring on each other's fingers please state, 'With this ring I thee wed. Jane, please go first."

Jane picked up Maura's ring and placed it on her left ring finger and said, "With this ring I thee wed."

Without being instructed Maura immediately picked up Jane's ring and placed in on her left ring finger and said, "With this ring I thee wed."

Korsak then continued, "You have pledged your love and devotion to each other and have given each other tokens of your love and devotion. I now declare that you are married. You may kiss each other to seal your union."

Jane and Maura shared a very passionate kiss and Korsak then said, "I would like to introduce Dr. and Mrs. Rizzoli-Isles." With that Jane and Maura walked hand in hand down the aisle and into the reception area.

They posed for pictures while everybody found their seats and lunch was served. Constance and Angela had decided to have the lunch catered and used the same catering service that they had used for the rehearsal dinner the night before.

The wedding coordinator welcomes everyone and then announced that there were going to start the toasts, "Will the best man like to speak at this time?"

Frost walks over to the microphone and said, "Thank you. I guess I am the best man here today." He paused and raised his hands up and down encouraging everyone to laugh.

"Well, I am. We have two beautiful ladies here who just committed their lives to one another. For those of you who don't know, Jane is my work partner and my friend. I was so honored when she introduced me to Maura. I thought she was really hot and I told Jane that. Jane was so afraid I was going to try and make a move on her, but I sensed something between them and knew better than to mess with my partner's woman, even though she wasn't her woman at the time. I knew she would figure it out sooner or later."

"Maura, I would like to welcome you officially to the crazy Rizzoli family. Don't laugh, you know as well as I do that, they are crazy, but the kind of good crazy. You will never be without laughter. Jane loves to laugh and to make people laugh. I wish the both of you love and laughter and the most happiness that this world can bestow upon you. To Jane and Maura, especially Maura." Frost raised his glass and everyone took a drink.

Susie stepped up next, "Maura, thank you so much for asking me to be your maid of honor today. I am truly honored. The first time I saw you and Jane together I also could see something special between the two of you. It also allowed me to see a softer side of Detective Rizzoli. She always scared me when she came into the lab before she met you. I hurried up and helped her hoping that she would exit the morgue quickly." Jane just looked at Susie with a questioning look on her face.

"I know that you are not mean Jane. But before Maura you had a very tough exterior and I was intimidated by you. I wanted my friend to be happy and if you made her happy then I was all for you dating her. As the months went on, I noticed the softer side of you and you were nicer to me and I was not as intimidated anymore. I hope that you truly do spend the rest of your life making my friend Maura happy."

Susie raised her glass and said, "To Jane and Maura, may you have a lifetime of love and happiness." Everyone repeated to 'Jane and Maura' and drank.

Arthur stood up and began his toast. "Maura, at first when you told your mother and I about Jane I didn't really know what to expect. When I met her for the first time, I thought she was so demanding telling your mother and I how we should treat you better. That you deserved so much and that parents should love their children no matter what."

"Your mother and I reflected on her words when we went back home to Paris and we came to the conclusion that she was right. We changed around some things and came out for another visit a few months later. We got to really meet Jane on the second visit she was more relaxed with us. We started having fun with her and joking around. Meeting Jane has given you back to us. We are so thankful that Jane has come into your life and that she makes you so very happy. Thank you, Jane for brightening up our daughter's life and welcome to the Isles family."

Arthur raised his glass and said, "To Jane and Maura may they have a life of love and happiness." 'To Jane and Maura' was repeated as everyone drank from their glass.

Frankie rose and walked up to the microphone. "At this time normally Jane's father would speak. However, I am filling in for him tonight and I would like to welcome Maura to the Rizzoli family. We have gotten to know you first as Jane's new friend and later as her best friend. The two of you were almost inseparable. We expected that when we saw Jane, we would see you."

"We watched as your love for one another grew over time. Jane, we were not surprised when we found out that you were dating and then later that you had asked Maura to marry you and right away Maura asked you to marry her as she had already purchased a ring and had planned to ask you but you beat her to it. Once again Maura welcome to the family."

Frankie raised his glass and offer his toast, "To our happy couple may they continue to find love and happiness for the rest of their lives."

Everyone raised their glasses and repeated, "To the happy couple."

Toasts were not opened up to the crowd. They immediately went into the first dance. Jane and Maura walked out onto the dance floor as 'Thinking Out Loud' by Ed Sheeran started playing. They swayed back and forth. Jane was singing to Maura. It wasn't long before they were kissing as they continued to sway to the song. When the kiss broke, they had huge smiles on their faces.

Before the song ended Nicky and Giana ran out onto the dance floor and danced with them. Jane and Maura didn't mind at all. They love Nicky and Giana. Arianna was slightly upset. She had told them that it was a special dance just for them. Nicky whispered in Giana's ear and that is when they ran to Jane and Maura. Arianna whispered 'Sorry' to them when they looked over at her.

Frankie and Arthur came out to dance the Father/Daughter dance with Jane and Maura. Jane made sure earlier that Frankie would be okay dancing with her and he said he would. So it was with such pride that he took his older sister's hand and asked her to dance with him. Arthur had taken Maura's hand and started dancing as soon as 'I Loved Her First' by Heartland started playing.

Maura wasn't surprised at all when her father dipped her down and gave her a kiss on the cheek when he pulled her back up when the song ended. She had seen him do this with her mother on multiple occasions.

The mother's were next up to dance with their daughters. Frost, who had selected the songs for the wedding, motioned for the DJ to hit play. 'What I Never Knew I Always Wanted' by Carrie Underwood began and Angela danced with Jane and Constance danced with Maura. About half way through the song they switched.

Angela whispered in Maura's ear, "Welcome to the family, sweetheart. I am so happy for you and Janie."

"Thank you, Angela." Maura said as they continued to dance. Maura glanced over at her wife and mother. Jane and Constance were laughing. They were whispering in each other's ears and having a great time. Maura smiled. She loved seeing her wife and mother having a great time.

The dancing continued for over and hour. Jane and Maura had several dances with Nicky and Giana who were enjoying dancing with everybody. Arianna was having a great time and even danced with Jane and Maura. It was quite the sight when they were shaking their bodies and snapping their fingers as they danced around the dance floor to Justin Timberlake's 'Can't Stop The Feeling.'

They took a break from dancing to throw the garter. Jane very seductively removed the garter from Maura's leg with her teeth. Angela was hoping that Jane would remember that they were not alone and that there were children present. Jane stood with a huge smile as she held up the garter and pulled Maura up into her arms.

The DJ asked for all of the single men to come forward. They all acted shy as they moved to the center of the dance floor and stood so Jane could shoot the garter over her shoulder. Her partner, Frost caught the garter as Frankie almost knocked him over trying to get to it.

The DJ then asked all the single women to come forward. They were not as shy as they approached the center of the dance floor. Jane kissed Maura and turned her around so that her back was to all the single ladies. Arianna caught the bouquet as Maura tossed it over her shoulder.

The photographer took a picture of Frost and Arianna with the garter and bouquet and then they cut the cake. Maura was a little scared that Jane was going to smash the cake into her face as Jane told her that is what she was going to do.

They cut the cake together and each held a small piece they snaked their arm through each other and slowly fed each other the cake. Jane did manage to smash a little bit of the cake into Maura's face but then she proceeded to lick it off of her face. Maura was laughing and Jane had a huge smile on her face. Maura had expected the experience to be so much worse. When they finished chewing on their small piece of cake they went back to dancing.

Jane grabbed Maura and held her tight and dragged her out to the dance floor when she heard 'When A Man Loves A Woman' by Bill Withers starting to play. She loved that song and although it said 'when a man,' that is how she felt, she would give up anything and everything to be with and protect Maura because she loved her.

They danced for a few more songs and then made their departure. They drove back to Boston and caught a flight to Italy the next morning. They were going to spend two weeks in Italy.

Arianna, Nicky and Giana flew out two days later. There was a huge family party three days after Jane and Maura arrived. Arianna had brought with her the video of the wedding. The video was shown to the family and then they had a huge Italian dinner. So many aunts, uncles, and cousins came up and congratulated them. Some of them Maura had never met.

Aunt Sophie, Frank's sister, was so happy to see Maura again. She knew that Maura was good for her niece. She was so happy that they got married. Sophie made sure to take Jane and Maura to her photo wall in her house and show them that their wedding picture was already hanging up on the wall.

Maura smiled, it was a beautiful picture of her and Jane looking at each other almost chin to chin. Maura remembered that picture being taken, they were just about to kiss and the flash went off blinding them momentarily but they were close enough that it didn't stop their kiss from happening.

Sophie took the time to pull them aside so she could talk privately with them. "My brother is a stupid man. Janie, you are so happy with Maura. Maura, I can see how much you love our Janie. Don't worry about that man. You have plenty of Rizzoli family members that love you two and love that you have found each other. Your mother is concerned though."

Jane and Maura looked at each other and Jane asked, "Why is my mother concerned, Aunt Sophie?"

"She wants to know which of you is going to carry her grandchildren or are both of you going to carry a baby." Sophie explained and Jane and Maura both shook their heads.

"Aunt Sophie, we just got married, we would like some time before we bring children into this world." Jane offered as an explanation to her aunt.

"Well, don't wait too long. I am not getting any younger." Aunt Sophie said and they all laughed.

After visiting with family for a few more hours, they left and went with Arianna, Nicky and Giana and spent the night with them. They left in the morning and flew to Sicily where they would spend the rest of their honeymoon. They stayed in Palermo and visited art galleries, museums and churches and of course the beaches.

Maura had done her homework, she had read on numerous websites that you needed at least seven evenings to take in all of Sicily so with that in mind, they had eight evenings and nine days to enjoy Sicily and take in all the sights and nightlife.

When their time in Sicily came to an end and they arrived back in Boston they had an important appointment to attend. They were meeting with their fertility doctor and they were going to start going through the process of starting a family. They wanted to have children and figured there was no time like the present. They had both been tested and they were both healthy enough to carry a baby but they agreed that Maura would carry their baby.

It took them several attempts and after six months Maura was pregnant. They waited until the first trimester was over before they told anyone that she was pregnant. It was hard sometimes as Maura had morning sickness. Certain chemicals in the lab made her sick.

They decided that they had to tell Susie that Maura was pregnant so that she could help keep their secret until it was time to reveal that she was pregnant. Susie was so excited for her friends. She told them she would do whatever she needed to do to help them out. Because Maura was so sick sometimes, they also had to tell Lieutenant Cavanaugh and Frost and Korsak.

After the first trimester was over, they announced to the family at the next family dinner that Maura was pregnant. Angela started crying she was so happy, she was going to be a grandma.

The next few months were terrifying for Jane and Maura at times. Maura was so sick somedays and other days she was just fine. The doctor said this is normal for some women. Every woman is different. She assured them that Maura and the baby were just fine. Maura was thirty-seven weeks into her pregnancy when the baby decided it was time.

Up to this point in time, they had not told anybody that Maura was having twins. Twins had a mind of their own the doctor told them. The doctor measured the babies to make sure that they were developed enough to make their entry into this world.

And that they did, the next day Maura's water had broke and Jane rushed her to the hospital. Seven hours later they had a little boy and a little girl. Mom and babies were doing great. Maura was exhausted and so happy.

Jane was there by her side the entire time helping her breathe and trying to keep her calm even when Maura swore at her that this was all her fault and she hated her. Jane knew that Maura loved her with all of her heart and that she was just doing what so many other expected mothers did, yell at their spouse.

They named their son, Marcus James and their daughter Katherine Maria Rizzoli Isles. Constance and Arthur were at the hospital to see the babies shortly after Jane called them. They arrived about five minutes after Angela. Angela called dibs on holding the grandbabies first. Constance just gave her a look and said, "Angela there are two of them we can take turns and each hold one at the same time." Angela just smiled and knew everything was going to be okay in the world, she was after all a nonna now.
