Author's Note:
Wanted to take a crack at an original villain in this arc. I'd say it went pretty well and made for a very different story. Hope everyone enjoys the finale!

—-Eddie and Gwen met up at Radman's apartment.
Eddie turned the keys and walked Gwen in.
"Whatever is going on has to do with Delilah. There's gotta be some kind of clue here." said Eddie.
They entered Delilah's room.
"Isn't Peter the problem right now? Maybe we should be ransacking his house instead." Gwen fired back.
"No, this girl is missing for a reason, and Pete's hiding it from us. He's probably home right now anyway."
Gwen searched under the bed and found a diary.
"It's locked." She sighed.
Eddie was looking through her closet.
"Maybe not, look at this." Eddie said, picking up some kind of blueprint.
The key was attached. Eddie gave it to Gwen while opening the blueprints.
She began to read the notes.
"This doesn't make any sense." Gwen thought aloud.
"Then you aren't going to want to see this.." Eddie said fearfully.
"Super-powered Possession Enhancer?" she read.
Eddie described, "The image is of some kind of superconductor. I think she was going to use it on Peter."
"Not quite." Gwen proclaimed.
"The notes kept going on and on. 'I want to be accepted, I want to have a life, I want to be the hero.' But she kept mentioning how scared she was of… purgatory."
Eddie thought for a moment, then had his explanation.
"She's some kind of spirit. And she built this device to steal Pete's life. She's controlling him."
He took a few minutes to convince Gwen, and then they found an address on the last page of the diary.
"This must be where she did it, come on let's go."
After arriving at an abandoned movie theater, they discover the device on the blueprint.
This thing had clearly been used already, and with Delilah's uninhabited body lying nearby, their theory was confirmed.
"Okay, this is bad." Eddie exclaimed looking at all of it.
"So she left her own body to take Peters'?!"
"We'll fix this." said Eddie. "We just have to get her back here and reactivate the device."
"And how are we going to do that?" Gwen asked profoundly.
Eddie responded while handing her the custom taser he manufactured previously.
"Take this and get ready. I'll be back in a half hour."
Eddie went back to Radman's lab. He was still knocked out.
"Sorry Doc." Eddie said while opening the containment chamber.
He reached out his hand as Carnage began to bond with him.
An hour later, Eddie and Carnage busted through the theater doors with 'Peter' in their arms.
They slammed Delilah against the device.
"Turn it on Gwen!" Eddie yelled while exhausting himself holding Delilah down.
She activated the machine, and it sucked Delilah's soul back into the device while returning Peter's to it.
The room visually glowed with his soul energy, restoring him to his former self.
"Peter!" Gwen hugged him as he woke up.
"Whoa, where am I?" Peter said as he regained consciousness.
Everything was still a blur.
"You're back to normal, right?"
Eddie was still bonded with Carnage.
"Now Gwen, the taser!"
She quickly turned around and fired it at him, stunning the both of them. Eddie screamed. Peter webbed Eddie out, separating him from X-38.
Eddie caught his breath as Carnage reformed itself, then pulled out a lighter.
"What are you doing?" Peter called out.
"Guiding it home." Eddie flickered the lighter on and Carnage became transfixed in front of
the flame. "Stay down!" Eddie commanded. It followed him like a dog.
"Uhhh, guys…" Gwen said nervously looking at the body transfer device.
It soon exploded, letting out Carmine's spirit.
She repossessed her previous victim, another body that was lying behind the curtains to become the villainous Hyperdrive again.
"Surrender Delilah, we've got you." Peter said confidently.
"That's where you're wrong." She responded, re-enabling her Oscorp weapons for the final fight.
Peter was still out of costume, but had his web shooters.
Hyperdrive began to fire energy blasts at Gwen and Eddie.
Spider-Man got up and quickly swung them to safety.
"Eddie, keep Carnage under control. Gwen, get out of here. I've got this."
"I'm not just going to leave you!" Gwen called out.
"I need you to stay safe!" He called back while preparing to swing kick Hyperdrive.
She jetpacked out of the way and activated her time disruptor, speeding to hit Spidey back.
Gwen observed the fighting, whispering to herself, "She's only winning because of her technology…"
Spider-Man continued to fight Hyperdrive. His spider sense repeatedly went off, but he was barely fast enough to block the barrage of attacks sent his way. Hyperdrive eventually landed an uppercut and, in a moment, blasted Peter with a dozen energy gauntlet shots.
Gwen ran back to the device and shot the taser at it. This overcharged the thing and caused a massive electromagnetic pulse.
Spidey got up slowly, being incredibly hurt from the blasts. Hyperdrive's technology was shut down, but not Peter's webs. He rapidly webbed the living hell out of her, sticking her up against the wall. "Looks like the old web shooters are resistant after all, thanks Gwen."
They walked over the defeated Hyperdrive, when Delilah exited her host once more.
She then took over Gwen's body, but her spirit was clearly visible now.
Peter looked over angrily at her.
'Gwen' said, "Wait! It's really me!"
Peter hesitated as she got closer.
Behind the both of them, Eddie's voice became clear.
"Vita tua praeturbetur et relegetur in aeternum!"
Gwen shrieked and Delilah's spirit flew out of her and disappeared into the air.
"Oh my god! I can't believe she did that!" Gwen exclaimed.
"Eddie, what was that?" Peter tried to understand what just happened.
"An exorcism. Had a little time to plan this thing out. Glad it worked." Eddie smirked.
"And Carnage?" Gwen asked.
"Taken care of." Eddie pointed to it on the ground next to the lighter.
"One last thing then.." Peter walked up to the possession device and backfisted it.
"There, destroyed. Good riddance."
They took Carnage back to the lab and put it into the cell once more.
"What do you think happened to her?" Gwen asked.
Eddie responded, "The exorcism was supposed to take her out of this world. Whether it takes her to another one is anyone's guess."
"It's almost sad really. " Gwen said.
"What do you mean?" Peter asked.
"She just wanted to fit in. Even though she was completely homicidal about it, she wanted to be like you. Accepted."
Peter sighed, and said, "Maybe under different circumstances that could happen to anyone."
"I'm just happy it didn't happen to us." Gwen said thoughtfully.
"Well all I know is I'm ready to get some rest." Peter said, then continued,
"Thanks for getting me out of this guys."
"Any time." said Eddie as they fistbumped.
"But what do we do about the Doc?"
Radman woke up at his house later that evening.
The police were at his door, and informed him of Delilah's body that was found at the theater.
He was not pleased to hear that news.
Elsewhere…
Miles Warren watched the news from his lab.
"What a shame Delilah. I should have known Radman was too
incompetent to keep you out of harm's way.
No matter. She's gotten me enough DNA. It's time to initiate the jackal splicing."
Gwen and Peter met back up on a skyscraper thereafter.
It was cold and windy, late at night. Peter was in his suit with the mask off.
"Are you feeling any better?" Gwen asked Peter.
"I'll be alright, those energy beams really burned for awhile though.
Good thing I heal fast. " Peter responded.
"How many of these guys are going to keep coming after you? I mean, when does it stop? This is ridiculous."
"I couldn't tell you Gwen. No matter how much I fight, there will always be another opponent. But there will also always be another life to save, and that's what makes it all worth it in the end."
"Well let's enjoy the ride then, yeah?" Gwen proclaimed. They leaned over to kiss before getting interrupted by a police siren.
He looked over, and she knew that he had to leave.
"Hey… I love you."
"I love you too Gwen."
He put on his mask and leaped off the building.
