Gumball viewed his surroundings in terror, trying to feel for anything other than air. Was this just like that time everyone disappeared? Wait. Why was it like that memory?

He suddenly found himself falling to the floor, his mask falling from his grip alongside him.

"This is all we could ever want Gumball. All YOU could ever want."

The cat looked up, greeted with the voice's menacing glare. He let out a small scream, as he scooted back from it. "I-I'm sorry I won't do it again I promise! Just stop this d-darkness thingy!"

"It's too late now! You ruined it!" The voice did not show sympathy, only floating closer with anger. "We would've gotten away but you just HAD to get all emotional again, didn't you?! It's no wonder you keep getting caught no matter what timeline you're in!"

Gumball could only feel utter fear, as he began to sob, sounds of pounding on a door growing louder. "S-Stop please.. It's not my fault.."

"Shifting the blame huh? How original."

He couldn't contain it anymore. His sorrow shifted into anger, as he began to glare back. "You're the one that decided to show up in my head that day in class! If anything it's YOUR fault for all this!"

"I WAS HERE FROM THE VERY BEGINNING YOU IDIOT!"

"Wait.." Gumball thought to himself for a moment, before he could feel the pieces clicking back to place. The conversation from class had played back in his mind. "YOU'RE THAT STUPID VOICE THAT MADE ME KILL ANAIS THAT ONE TIME!"

"Oh grow up! You knew you were going down that road in that moment back then!"

"THAT WAS MY OWN SIBLING YOU JERK!"

"IT DOESN'T MATTER! DO YOU REALLY THINK ANYONE IN THIS LOUSY TOWN WOULD HAVE A HINT OF CARE TOWARDS YOU?! YOU'RE ONLY A LOSER! AN OUTCAST!"

The cat was about to defend himself, but gasped, as his gray eyes reflected off the voice's eyes. Tears poured harder. "N-No.. Nonononono.."

"Look at you! You're not like them! Never will be!"

"SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP STOP IT! STOP IT!" He sobbed horribly, trying to block it out. "I DON'T WANNA HURT ANYONE ANYMORE JUST STOP! STOP!"

Nicole by now was practically punching at the door, the wood now splintered where her fists were. "OPEN UP!"

"What on Earth is he going on about?.." Anais had been listening as best as she could, her eyes wide with alarm. She felt rather stupid not realizing before, feeling as though her threat to snitch were only hollow words now. "Killing me?.."

"Anais don't listen to it, it's nonsense!" The older cat replied angrily, as she repeatedly pounded. "I SAID OPEN UP YOUNG MAN DON'T MAKE ME COME IN THERE-"

"M-Mrs. Mom wait!" Darwin got between her and the door, making her quickly cease her punches. He held his fins out with utmost urgency, with a look of fear yet, hope. "It's not him! It's just that voice in his head, honest!"

He paused, taking in his words. "..Uh.. Oops.."

Nicole gently grabbed him by the shoulders, her anger now more like worry. "Darwin what have you two not been telling me? What is going on?"

Darwin hesitated. He hated having to break his brother's promise, but what choice did he have? It was now or never. He knew better than anyone that it had to said. "..Gumball was the one that murdered Tobias! Everyone at school let it slide 'cause we knew he'd change and they were all too afraid to deal with him directly! A week later I heard him in the bathroom so I checked up on him and he told me there was this weird voice that appeared in his head and I tried to help him out and then that Rocky stuff happened! I promised not to tell anyone I didn't want him hurt honest!"

"And then what?" She raised an eyebrow. She knew there was more.

He took a breath and exhaled shakily. "I didn't hear much after that besides one horrible nightmare he had but then.. Um.. No I can't I promised.."

"Darwin, honey, I know this is really stressful right now but we need full context." Nicole said. "Promises or not."

"..Okay.." He continued. "..He had a breakdown at school. The kids were making stupid rumors about him and he yelled at them and his eyes changed to that weird gray thingy.. Penny and I found him crying so we hugged him.."

Darwin felt himself nearly tear up at the memory, which pained him to recollect. "..That night... I heard noises in the bathroom... So I came in and.. He broke the mirror.. He was trying to shove the glass into his hands.. I stopped him and we promised not to tell anyone 'cause we didn't want anyone worrying.."

The other family members only listened, hanging on every word. Screaming and crying could still be heard from inside the bedroom.

"Then this fight broke out at school.. I'm not sure what it was but I had to stop him from pummeling this guy and he started crying.. So I took him to the closet to feel safer and he told me how he felt about everything at school.. I was trying to comfort him and at one point he was really torn up that he started thinking he was the..."

He stopped.

No.

Oh no.

Darwin's eyes widened, the memory replaying like a broken reel. "...H-He tried to tell me.. I-I didn't listen... I could've prevented this but I only pushed him away!"

Nicole bent down and hugged him, as the fish sobbed into her shirt. "It's okay, it's okay, we're going to get this sorted out.."

She stood up, handing over Darwin to Richard. "Kids, stay behind me, okay? On the count of three, I'm going to kick the door down and try to get him to calm down."

Each family member nodded in response.

The voice only scowled, as Gumball sobbed where he sat, trembling with dread. "Fine then. You know what? You lost me. Not like I was ever your friend anyways."

"W-What-" Before the cat could finish, it disappeared, leaving him alone in the darkness. His panic grew, as he tried to find anything, anyone nearby. "W-Wait no don't leave me here!"

Suddenly, a horribly mutilated, dirt covered Tobias appears in front of him, scaring the living daylights out of him. Gumball looked up at him with utter horror, unable to find any words coming to his throat.

"You're just a sick twisted freak!" Zombie Tobias pointed at him with anger, his arm bloodied and exposing bone.

"I-I'm not!" The feline screamed, as he discovered more of the dead greeting him, each he recognized. Victims. He felt petrified, as they only came closer.

Anais stood before him now, angry and glaring. Her chest had a hideous wound, showing her insides as blood covered her dress. "You killed your own sister! You should be the one dead!"

"Anais I-I didn't mean to it was an a-accident-"

"You're a monster Watterson. You're no hero." Rob appeared, blood running down his face as a gash was seen in his head. He only stood there watching him.

A headless policeman suddenly came from behind, freaking out Gumball worse. "Killing another innocent person.. Do you even care if you murder your own loved ones too? Or are they just another pawn in this sick game of yours?..."

"S-Stop! Stop it! P-Please just stop! JUST STOP!" Gumball held his paws against his ears, crying as he saw more victims, each a haunting reminder. The hairy costumed man with his gory stab wounds. Mr. Allards, discombobulated head held in the body's arms. The frozen look of terror etched through the dry gray concrete the cube man had stuck to his face. Students split in half. The broken tablet shards sticking out from the mutilated throat of the other mailman. The twisted neck of the convenience store shopper. The murdered corpses of Tobias's parents.

A backstabbed police officer reached out his cold dead hand, angry and menacing.

Panicked, Gumball scratched the man across the face, and pushed him away as fast as he could. He soon screamed as the dead victims suddenly threw him to the ground, surrounding him with all their scars and wounds, faces terrifying. The feline tried so hard to block out their words, but it proved inevitable. He couldn't escape them.

The victims only got closer, some with hands outstretched in ill intent.

"N-No.. No stop.. STOP IT STOP IT GET AWAY FROM ME!" He yelled, tears streaming down his face, as he hid his face under his arms. The feline trembled terribly, dreadful as silence remained. Where had they gone? Confused, yet cautiously, he slowly lifted his head, opening his eyes.

He was back in the bedroom, sitting before his horrified family, who looked at him without a word.

Gumball sat there for a moment, utterly shocked and in fright, as his eyes remained their gray state. It wasn't real. None of it was real. He glanced around the room warily, eventually landing on Darwin, whom had been standing there. The goldfish had a bleeding mark across his face, as he slightly hid behind the family.

The cat couldn't feel himself crying, but he knew he was. No. He didn't hurt him, did he? He couldn't. He couldn't have. Finally, he spoke, his words shaky and with fright. "I-I can explain.. H-He made me do it honest! It was the dumb voice that set this all up! I-It's not my fault.. It's not my fault.."

He began practically uttering the last sentence to himself, but it wouldn't comfort him.

Nobody had moved yet. If anything, it seemed like none of them even WANTED to move. Nicole had been silently moving her mouth, in deep thought as she took in the situation before her. Soon, after a few minutes of dead silence, she moved closer, and swiftly grabbed the younger cat by the arm.

Gumball instantly went into flight or fight mode, bewildered by such sudden decision, as he struggled in her grip. "Mom w-what are you doing?.."

She did not answer, and stormed out of the room, taking him with her.

"W-Wait let me explain, please! Mom let me go please I-I'm sorry!" His cries went ignored, as he was dragged down the steps, the other family members following, just as confused as him. Before he knew it, the basement door creaked open, and he was suddenly shoved in the back, sent crashing down the first few steps.

"Mom! Wait!" The cat painfully got up, but the door slammed behind him, locking in place. He desperately ran up to it, trying to get it open, to no avail. "NO WAIT PLEASE! MOM!"

Dialing of the phone could be heard.

Tears poured heavily down his face, as the feline banged his fists on the basement door, letting out a loud ironically blood curdling scream. All he could do was scream now, trying to get out. Sounds of alarm could be heard from the outside. Had it scared his family? Or were they only scared.. Of him?

"Well, well, well, what have we done here?"

Gumball paused, his expression darkening. He knew it was there. Mocking him. He couldn't take any of it anymore. It was then that rage took over, as he let out another scream, this time not of fear. The cat then turned around, and nearly flew down the steps, lunging at the voice with the utmost look of murder in his eyes.

The voice only laughed. It swirled around, making him crash into several boxes, things breaking in the process.

He didn't want to stop. He had to catch him. The cat followed it no matter where, trying to claw and punch at it, jumping over junk and shelves, destroying photo frames and breaking glassware.

A pair of boxes gave way in his step, as the decaying rotted corpse of the mailman slumped over into view, dead eyed and still just as horrific as the day he killed him. The cat had forgotten he hid him there, as he grew startled, losing his footing. He fell to the floor, crying out in pain as one of his paws gets cut by broken glass.

For a moment, he sat there, in agony. Rage was still very on his mind, but devastation was trying to break through. The only sound he made was sobbing.

"You really think it's that easy, don't you?" The voice stood before him, crossing its arms, as it looked disappointed, rather impatient even. "Watterson, I think we both know that it's not entirely my fault here. You were the one that chose to murder that Tobias boy, and look what happened."

He couldn't find a response.

"Freeze!"

A pair of policemen appeared at the basement stairs, taking notice of the destroyed wreck of the basement. Fabrics ripped, various shards everywhere, the dead body in the corner, all of it.

Gumball, tiredness setting in, as well as feeling frightened, slowly turned and grabbed the nearest object beside him. A baseball bat. He lifted it up. "D-Don't get any closer! I-I'm warning you!"

His grip shook, as the feline weakly backed away, soon feeling his back bumping into the concrete wall.

"Drop the weapon kid, don't make us use force against you!"

"Stop..." He staggered in his place, wincing as he held his head in pain. The voice shouted at him once more, repeating its several points. His anger soon came barreling back. He wanted them to leave. He didn't want them here. "I SAID STOP!"

He ran forward, bat in hand, as he whacked one officer straight across the head, cracking the neck easily. He didn't stop. He repeatedly smashed the cop's face in, over and over, as blood began to pour.

The other man tried to grab him from behind, only to get hit in the knees, buckling to the floor in shock. Before the policeman could say a word, he suffered the same, as the bat came full force and smacked him directly to the eyes.

Gumball felt himself sob, weapon clattering to the ground. Dark red blood covered his hands. He could hear Rob's words echo through his head, paining him to even think of, as he trembled horribly, surroundings getting blurry. He couldn't stop. Nobody would be safe.

He had to run.

The cat jumped up and fled up the stairs, slamming the basement door open as he sprinted for the front door. He had to get away. He can't hurt. However, his rapid terrified thoughts were interrupted, as Nicole suddenly grabbed him by the wrists and pinned him down, her grip tightening uncomfortably. Screaming could be heard from the others.

All he could think of was panic, as he struggled and fought to escape her, his eyes dilating wildly. She would not let go. In a sudden spur of the moment, he bit her.

Nicole let out a slight cry of startled pain, as the nasty wound bled onto the carpet. For a moment, her grip released, as she briefly turned to her arm.

Seeing this chance, the younger feline began to reach out for the door, standing up and quickly about to approach it. Just as he was going to grasp the knob, his leg was suddenly grabbed, and he fell to the floor with a thud. Turning around, he screamed, as his mother was dragging him back over. He tried desperately to pry her hands off, screaming and crying in such fear.

He was no match for her. She had pinned him once again, keeping his arms behind his back. "Don't move."

Her words were cold and terrifying, full of anger. Gumball had no choice but to listen, sobbing as he laid there on the carpet. He could see three backup officers had arrived, bursting through the door a few minutes later. He couldn't even get himself to care.

Was this how it ends? Was this what the voice wanted all along? His life utterly wrecked?

He soon felt a sudden shock ring through his body, like a jolting pain. Slowly, his eyes trailed up to see an officer jabbing a taser in the cat's side. He couldn't even scream. All he could feel was an utter sorrow, and tiredness. So much tiredness.

Before he knew it, he passed out right there, Nicole and the officers still holding him in their grip.
