Landing safely on the ground after having gone skydiving towards the Eggman base in Chun-nan, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles looked up at the base. "Alright, we made it down here safe and sound! Now how about we find a way in, little buddy?" Sonic asked Tails as he looked at the yellow fox.
Tails nodded to Sonic as he pulled out his Miles Electric as he brought up a holographic map of the Eggman base the boys were currently at. After carefully looking over the map, Tails pointed at one spot on the map. "Okay, up here on the roof, there's a ventilation shaft we can use to get inside the base. It will lead to a storage room, though the door is locked, so we're gonna need to pick the lock once we get inside the storage room.
"Screw that! Why waste our time trying to pick the lock when I can just punch open the door and get us out of that storage room faster?" Knuckles spoke up.
"Knuckles got a point, Tails. It'll save us time if we just have him punch open the door." Sonic agreed with Knuckles' reasoning.
Tails nodded again as he put his Miles Electric away again. "Very true. Well, hold on tight, and I'll get you guys up onto the roof." The yellow fox said as he began to fly with his two tails and grabbed Sonic hands as they began to take off into the air, with Knuckles jumping into the air and grabbing Sonic's legs. The boys then flew up onto the roof and once they were up there, Tails let go of Sonic and Knuckles as the boys safely landed on the roof. They then began to make their way towards the ventilation shaft Tails was talking about.
"This is it. We're going in." Sonic said as the boys went into the ventilation shaft and ended up inside the storage room Tails was talking about. The storage room was mostly filled with cardboard boxes that likely just held office supplies and the like.
"Well, this room is pretty dry and stuffy. Just like the Eggster himself." Knuckles remarked.
"No kidding. Now how about you get us out of this dry and stuffy room, Knux?" Sonic suggested, to which Knuckles responded with a nod and walked up to the door of the room, hitting it with his fists about 5 times before it broke open, hitting a nearby wall as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles left the room.
"Well, looks like we're in. What's the next part of the plan, Tails?" Sonic asked Tails as the yellow fox pulled out his Miles Electric again, looking over the map of the base once again.
"There's a large reactor inside the engine room of the base. If we wanna take down this base, I suggest we make our way over to the engine room and destroy the reactor. We gotta be careful though, because Eggman has robots patrolling all over the base." Tails explained.
"No killer robots are too tough for me to handle! Let's go kick some ass!" Sonic cheered as he began to speed down the hallway.
"Sonic! Wait for us!" Tails called out to Sonic before him and Knuckles began to follow after the cobalt blue hedgehog.
Meanwhile, the Chaotix had arrived at the Station Square Docks, because a discarded note at Shinji's Japanese Grill adressed to a person named Mascalzone demanded him to bring 50,000 Rings to this location. Hopefully the Chaotix would be able to find more evidence to aid them in their investigation.
"Here we are, guys! The Station Square Docks! Let's have a look around here and see if there's any evidence that could give us a new lead in our investigation! Be sure to check every nook and cranny of the place, because the evidence could be lurking around every turn!" Vector told his friends and colleagues, who nodded as they all split up to go look for evidence.
"Hm...What kind of evidence could be waiting for us here...?" Espio muttered out loud before he saw something lying in a pile of trash. "Wait, what's this?" The purple chameleon wondered before he pulled the object from the pile of trash and wiped any trash off the object. The object was an empty camera with the initial "P" engraved on it.
"Guys, I found something!" Espio called to the rest of the Chaotix as they made their way over to him. Espio then showed the camera to the group.
"Hm...There's a P engraved onto the camera...I wonder who P could be?" Mighty wondered out loud.
Vector let out an inquisitive hum as he thought about it. "Perhaps it could be referring to the local sensation singer Patricia Circumference? We could try and ask her if she knows anything about the theft in the museum." The green crocodile suggested.
The rest of the group nodded in agreement. "That sounds like a good idea, Vector. Let's go find Patricia Circumference right away." Espio agreed as the group began to leave the Station Square Docks before seeing another car take off.
"Gah! They followed us again!" Vector exclaimed.
"Leave it to me, Vector! I'll take them out with my stinger!" Charmy said as he flew after the car, firing his stinger at the car tires multiple times, causing the tires to deflate and the car to spin out of control before crashing into a street lamp.
Vector and the others then made their way over to the car and pulled out the driver, who was a human man wearing a brown leather coat. "Looks like we found our next suspect in the case!" Vector grinned.
"Let's take him over to the closest police station for interrogation." Mighty suggested as the Chaotix began to head towards the closest police station to interrogate their new suspect.
Meanwhile, Amy had regained consciousness in a prison cell somewhere inside one of Eggman's bases. "Ugh...What happened...? Where am I...?" The pink hedgehog groggily muttered as she proceeded to sit up and saw that she was inside one of Eggman's prison cells.
"Ugh! That piece of scrap metal took me to one of Eggman's bases and locked me up here! The nerve!" Amy huffed before finding that Buck was missing from her possession, and she gasped in shock. "Oh no! What happened to Buck?! I hope that soulless machine didn't do anything harmful to him...I'll have to get out of this cell as quickly as possible! I'll just use my trusty Piko Piko Hammer and get out of here in a jiffy!" Amy declared as she reached for her Piko Piko Hammer, but was unable to find it.
Amy gasped once again. "Oh no, where's my Piko Piko Hammer?! Did that soulless machine take that as well?!" The pink hedgehog growled in frustration. "Such a fine pickle I've gotten myself into here..." She huffed as she looked around to find a way out of her cell, finding that one of Eggman's subjects had left behind a meal and something to drink for her.
"Well, what do you know? Looks like Eggman ordered one of his subjects to feed me while I'm locked up here! Guess not even Eggman's so cruel that he doesn't feed his prisoners! I'll quickly scarf this down and then use this to my advantage to get out of here!" Amy got an idea as she began to quickly eat her meal and drink her drink before using the empty cup and throwing it at a nearby big red button that proceeded to open her cell door.
"Oh, Amy. You're so smart." Amy told herself with a light giggle before proceeding to leave the cell block, finding herself in a hallway. "Okay, first thing's first. I gotta get my Piko Piko Hammer back. Then I gotta find Buck and get out of this base and get back to freeing Buck's friends. Time to get to work." The pink hedgehog once again told herself before heading off to find her Piko Piko Hammer.
In the next part, Sonic and Company will be going after the reactor of Eggman's Chun-nan base, the Chaotix will be looking for Patricia Circumference and Amy will be trying to get her Piko Piko Hammer back and find Buck!
