Chapter 21
→ Re-Estize / Litzelot and his group ←
Litzelot, his group and Climb moved through Re-Estize, since Climb wanted Litzelot to meet someone. Climb was adamant not to tell Litzelot who asked for a meeting.
Once they reached a mansion a bit outside of the main part of the city, Litzelot became a bit more caucus.
"There are two beings stronger than your average human" Litzelot thought. The group looked at him and he simply and reassuringly shrugged with his shoulders.
The mansion had a front garden with a fence on a wall. It then had a pathway. The door looked a bit like a temple of classical greece. There were many windows protruding from the ceiling. It had a white color with black elements.
"Looks nice." Litzelot thought.
The group got closer and Climb then went towards the door and knocked. A man with a white beard opened and nodded.
"I am Sebas Tian. I wanted to speak with Sir Litzelot on behalf of my master, Ainz Ooal Gown." Sebas said.
"Then we shall speak." Litzelot replied and they moved in. Once inside the mansion had wooden floors and white tapestry. Sebas led them to a living room and signaled them to seat each other.
"Master Ainz Ooal Gown asks to speak to you, when it will be convenient for you." Sebas stated.
"I will be on a quest. Sadly I can't say when exactly I will be back. But I would place it around one and a half weeks from now." Litzelot replied.
"That sounds good. I will contact lord Ainz Ooal Gown." Sebas smiled.
"Please do." Litzelot replied. The group looked at them both like they were aliens.
"What are they talking about?'' Lore asked Climb.
"I don't know. But I remember that the name "Ainz Ooal Gown" is not new to Litzelot." Climb answered.
"Now. We will be going, but please answer me a question. How many of Nazarick appeared with you? I don't mean the base, I mean the big ones, to send my regard" Litzelot asked.
"Please only one or two. And please let it only be roleplayer like Arachama and Genjiro. Please don't let Touch-me be in this new world" Litzelot thought.
"Our Lord is the last to remain. He was once Lord Momonga and now uses the name Ainz Ooal Gown." Sebas said. Litzelot became stiff.
"I understand. We will move out now." Litzelot nodded and his group moved out.
"Why him? But if managed to keep his emotions and his personality he could be nice. On the other hand, he could easily destroy me, since he has his tomb with him." Litzelot thought.
The group walked to the palace and then departed from Climb. They moved outside of the capital. Once outside Litzelot took his bicorn and summoned more for his new group. Once that was done they were riding extremely fast.
"With that speed we might cut it down to a week." Litzelot smiled.
→ Nazarick / Ainz ←
Ainz sat in his office and was working on documents, when he got a message from Sebas.
"Lord Ainz, I bring good news" Ainz heard the butler.
"What good news?" Ainz asked.
"I managed to make an appointment with Sir Litzelot. It will be around a week and a half. I could contact you again when it happens." Sebas reported.
"That is good. What is going about on the other front?" Ainz asked.
"We sent the report earlier. The influx of information is slightly lower now, since the kingdom is not fast in changes." Sebas reported.
"I hope all goes well with Litzelot." Aiz thought.
"All right, contact me when he's back at your place, I will prepare," Ainz ordered.
"Understood." Sebas replied.
→ Between Re-Estize capital and border / Litzelot and his group ←
The group was traveling at enormous speed and did not rest much, this meant that they already closed in on the borders of the Baharut Empire. Zesshi rode up to Litzelot and looked at him in deep thoughts.
"Naah? What was this with the butler?" She asked him soothingly.
"He works for someone I knew a while back." Litzelot replied.
"I see. Is that someone of your kin?" She asked.
"In some ways yes, in others no. We are both undead and from similar origins. But that's it. He is an Overlord while I am a Dullahan." Litzelot answered.
"I see. So the master of Sebas is also a player? Who do you think would win, me or him? And what about you and him?" Zesshi asked curiously.
"If we take this group it would be a challenge. If you face him he would kill you instantly. Me and him have advantages and big disadvantages.
We are built more about ourselves than what would be fought. I might defeat him in a 1-on-1 melee. But in terms of magic he would destroy me in seconds. The biggest disadvantage from me against him is that he has his tomb, while I can only work with what I get in this new world." Litzelot tried to explain.
"I see. Do you think we will face him someday?" Zesshi asked.
"I don't know. If his personality resembles what I know perhaps no. He was once more shy and reserved. But his undead nature and his minions might turn that around. Aside from that we don't know how the kingdom would try to treat him." Litzelot shudders.
"I understand. Thank you for your answers darling." Zesshi soothed and tried to cuddle with him.
They got closer to the borders and prepared the papers needed for their mission. They decided to cross the border the next day, since the three humans of the party were tired and sore. They set up camp and relaxed a bit, until Opal fell asleep, and nearly into the fire. Litzelot brought her to her tent and then the rest of the group went to sleep.
Only Zesshi slept in his lap while Lore went into her own tent.
"I wish I could sleep. Nights alone are boring" Litzelot thought.
The night was long and Litzelot decided to read while everyone else rested. He had a few books in his inventory." Lord of the Rings", "A Song of Ice and Fire" were just a few of them.
"God thanks I just threw them inside my inventory for another time to read." Litzelot was quite thankful to his past self and smirked.
→ Re-Estize Palace / Renner ←
Renner sat in her room and smirked. She had fulfilled her plans and the best part was that her oaf of a family didn't register it yet. Her brother Zanac thought he had her under his thumb, since he had marquise Raeven on his side, but still failed to see the potential of her retinue.
Her father was long since ignored in the dance of power. He was weak and broken, a destroyed puppet. Even though he had shown his biggest use today, it will be for a long time.
Her oldest brother on the other hand will prove the tastiest revelation. She had gotten the strongest warriors of this kingdom on her side, some more loyal than others but still. Litzelot, Zesshi, Opal, Lore and Gazef could be their own army. Sadly Barbo would never get control over them since she had gotten her retinue for life.
"This will be part of my revenge dear brother. You may have the kingdom, but I will do as I please." Renner grinned and thought about the possibilities.
Renner walked around the capital's orphanages and inspected them. She knew that this wasn't much, it didn't intend to be much, but it did the most important thing to her. It improved her standing in the view of Climb.
"What can I do, after I destroy eight fingers? I could try to get far away when the kingdom falls. That sounds good. But where? This is a tough question." Renner thought. More and more these days.
She saw Climb looking at her and nearly melted. Luckily she could keep her composure and simply smiled back.
"Princess Renner, if I might ask a question?" Climb asked.
"Yes Climb?" Renner asked back.
"Why did you give them retinueship?" Climb asked.
"I want them to help me. I need strong people to correct the people of the kingdom. These four are not only strong but are mighty in their own right." Renner explained and then looked at her "puppy".
"I see. Thank you Princess." Climb said.
Once they were back in the Palace she heard her oldest brother boast and fume and simply walked to her room as fast as possible. She didn't want any time with her brother and certainly knew why her brother was fuming.
"MMhmm. I like to know that my brother fumes, but I don't want to be close to it or he sees me gloating." Renner smiled to herself.
She then prepared tea for herself and read. It didn't take long until she heard heavy steps on the floor. It didn't take long for her to guess who it was.
"RENNER" the voice of her brother boomed through the floor. The door barged open and there he stood. His face showed anger and fury.
"What is it you want to ask of me dear brother?" Renner asked, showing her "innocent-Princess"-smile.
"I heard you took a few individuals as retinue?" Barbo said, obviously trying to not show his anger, and miserably failing.
"Ahh yes. I remember. Good people and mighty strong. What about them?" Renner smiled and looked at her brother innocently.
"I want to conscript them into the royal army." Barbo fumed.
"And you will do no such thing." Renner replied, holding down the urge to grinn into his face.
"I will. You will relinquish that they are your retinue." Barbo fumed, anger slightly making cracks in his facade.
"I will do no such things, as they wouldn't listen to you." Renner said.
"What makes you so sure about that?" Barbo smiled angrily.
"Even if you think about using Gazef Stronoff to force compliance. Lakyus and Gagaran were able to team up on Gazef and go toe to toe against him. Litzelot, one of my retinue, was able to defeat the whole adamantite team "blue roses" without much trouble. My money would be that Litzelot and his group would simply move out of the country." Renner smiled, showing a bit of gloating.
"Then why should they listen to you?" Barbo said, obviously thinking that he had her.
"Isn't it obvious? Blue roses, the group around Litzelot and I have a similar goal. Therefore we work together. I also didn't insult any of them or tried to force myself upon one of them. But what do I know, I am only a simple girl." Renner grinned.
"Yes, you are a stupid girl. You should think about the good of the kingdom. Once we conquer the empire the kingdom can serve me better." Barbo shouted.
"You oaf. You should know that walls have ears" Renner mused in her head.
"Nah. I think I will keep them as a retinue, since I feel like they are good protection. Especially against boastful and annoying oafs." Renner smiled
"Who threatened you?" Barbo asked.
"No one you would do something about. Now leave me alone, please." Renner smiled.
"This idiot, not even realizing I mean him" Renner thought.
"I will go, but you will relinquish the retinueship." Barbo reiterated.
"Nah. I will cling to it. It proved valuable to me. You can have all of the kingdom, aside from a few things, which belong to me." Renner misled and waved her brother out.
"Puuh. I hate him. He always wants everything. Sadly for him I will keep my new resources close by for the future." Renner grinned her evil smile.
The rest of the day would prove quiet.
→ Border to Baharut Empire / Litzelot and his group ←
Litzelot had waited all night and bored caressed Zesshis head. Zesshi meanwhile in her sleep grinned and whispered his name. Once the first rays of sunshine went into their camp, Zesshi woke up and upon realizing where she was and where she slept smiled like the sun herself.
"Looks kinda cute," Litzelot thought.
"Mornin`Litzelot" Zesshi grumbled and cuddled against him.
"Morning. How did you sleep?" He asked.
"I slept well. Sadly I can't go without sleep." She purred and smiled.
"That's normal. Nearly everything needs to rest." He replied.
"I will wake the others." Zesshi said and stood up. Litzelot meanwhile prepared the bicorn.
"Stand up you lazy butts." Zesshi shouted and threw the sleeping Opal and Lore out of their tent. They grumbled and made themselves fresh.
"Morning. Zesshi, why so rough with them?" Litzelot asked.
"Opal would sleep all day and Lore is slow." Zesshi smiled and walked over to him with a bit more sway in her hips.
"I see." Litzelot replied.
After more time passed and the group, except Litzelot, ate breakfast, the group continued. They managed to get close to Valwintar, which was quite an accomplishment. They made camp and Litzelot told them how he met an arachne which counted as "extreme good" and how that happened.
"So she threw money around to help her friends?" Lore facepalmed.
"Yes. And now she counts as good." Litzelot smiled and Zesshi cuddled against him.
"I know something that would count as good to me" She soothed and he simply smiled.
"You should simply enjoy it, since she will not stop until she has her will." Opal said in a monotone voice.
"We could also have more fun with the other two" Zesshi smiled and nibbled Litzelots ear.
Lore and Opal shuddered and looked into each other's eyes and then at Litzelot pleading.
"I think we should rest. Tomorrow we will deal with the rest of the trip and our quest. Then we start heading back." Litzelot said. Opal and Lore were fast enough that a normal human would have thought that they teleported.
"I know something that will help me rest" Zesshi suggested and Litzelots last resolve broke down. They went to her tent and the night would have counted as sportly activity. Opal and Lore meanwhile tried to sleep, with little success.
→ Valwintar / Leinas Rockbruise ←
Leinas was riding her horse to the local lord's mansion. She got orders from her emperor Jircniv to go here and get the treatment from that Litzelot. She also knew that this Litzelot wouldn't be aware of her hidden orders.
She reached Valwintar, a small city with an outer wall. It was a city used as a fortress. It also had an inner wall for the family of the lord. She rode to the mansion, a big building made out of white marble and blue patterns.
She got to the entrance and jumped from the horse, signaling a guard to bring her horse to the stables. She walked to the door and knocked. An old butler opened and led her through the doors. The interior was the same coloring as outside with a blue carpet on the floor.
They reached a study and Leinas waited a bit. After a short while the Lord of the mansion came in. He had white pants, a red overcoat and red beard and hair. He bore a visible scar on his left eye and cheek, which ran down to his neck.
"Good evening Lord, General Ferreus Potestas Ferro Dolor." Leinas greeted and bowed a bit. She remembered him being a war hero after holding the lines during the war of succession, which emperor Jircniv one. It is said he held the line of a bridge by himself, killing 500 enemies and afterwards destroying the bridge with his martial arts.
"Good evening Leinas Rockbruise. I heard of your orders and will help you to carry them out. I will also help this Litzelot to carry out his orders." He said and then prepared tea for them both.
"Now, let me hear how it went for you." Lord Dolor asked Leinas.
"After I killed that monster and got cursed by it my family and friends turned on me. I got help from Emperor Jircniv and he will help me to find a cure for the curse." Leinas told Lord Dolor in a grim voice.
"I am sorry for that. I hoped, with the letter, they would see reason. Seems that they didn't. Why didn't you come to me? You could have married my son after your service to me. We both know I owe you a life debt." General Dolor asked.
"I know that you see it that way and I hoped that my circle would see reason. Sadly they didn't and I didnt want to impede you." Dolor smiled sadly.
"It wouldn't have been a problem. But I will help you." Dolor smiled and they continued to exchange details about their lives.
Deep in the night Leinas was shown to her quarters and she read a book she borrowed from the library. She tried to sleep multiple times, but she simply couldn't, the hope simply burning in her chest and keeping her awake.
AN: Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed and please review.
A shorter chaperter, but many private problems in my circle of friends. I will now start college from tomorrow onwards. I hope to keep a rhythm of an update every two weeks, but I sadly don't know how hard it will be and how much time I will have.
