Random Q: Which Cullen family member would you like as a sibling?

Chapter 3

I rolled my eyes at the message. You usually don't meet every person that gets to work for you, and a CEO doesn't have time for that.

Searching for his office in the phone book, I dialed the number through the work phone.

"Mister Cullen's office, Heidi speaking." This was the voice of a big-titted blonde; she basically moaned the words through the phone. "Hi, this is Bella Swan from the financial department; Mister Cullen asked me to call to set up a meeting," I said without any confidence.

"Miss Swan, yes, I just saw the note passing that Mr. Cullen made. Thank you for calling. Are you all setup?" Oké, maybe she wasn't that bad...

"Yes, thank you, I'm going out for lunch now with Laurent, so definitely a warm welcome," I replied.

"That's good. How about 4 PM tomorrow?" She said quickly, clearly not having time for small talk.

"That works for me, so far I'm just settling in, so no appoin-"

"Oké, good, I'll send you an email with the confirmation," She interrupted me loudly. I moved the phone slightly from my ear, bitch.

One click, and the call ended. I changed my mind again about Heidi, clearly the typical CEO secretary. Probably just Edward's type, I already assumed.

The day ended up going by pretty quickly. Laurent and I had lunch in a lovely bistro just around the corner. Which had the most fantastic cinnamon rolls.

We discussed my working schedule and meetings that were coming up. Laurent explained some of the charities the company was working with, which was why I applied for this particular company.

I knew I wanted to work in finance and resources since I was young and good with numbers. But working for a company that set up many charities for poverty in foreign countries felt much better.

Once at home, Jacob was nowhere to be found. He said he would be earlier than me, so I quickly texted him asking about his whereabouts as I got ready for the shower.

After enjoying like 30 minutes in the shower and setting up dinner, Jacob finally slurred in. On the weekends, Jacob was this lit-up fire, but from Monday till Thursday, he was like this bear ready for hibernation.

"Hello, sunshine." I greeted him, and I got half a grin back. "Hello, Bells; how was your first day?" He kicked off his boots and sat at the dinner table, probably ready for the food I was preparing.

"It was good," I said casually. " Had a nice lunch break with my supervisor," I continued as I put the vegetables on the plate. "He explained some of the work I was doing." Jacob nodded in reply as he laid down his head on the table.

"Got a lovely email from the CEO to welcome me to the business." He gave me a thumbs up; Jacob never liked the small talk. " Even though I already met him in the elevator that morning." I think he fell asleep on me...

"I was changing my Niké's to my heels when he entered the elevator. He knew my name and everything." I continued slowly. "I wonder if he knew my name when we were dancing at the club Saturday." I paused, waiting for a reaction.

It took him a few seconds, but finally, his face perked up with surprise written on his face. "Wait, you, he?" I nodded, confirming his confusion.

"Your CEO is the guy you danced with Saturday?!" He shouted through the apartment. I nodded slowly, which got his attention.

"OMG, Bells, tell me everything!" It was like I gave him five cups of coffee, and his energy was suddenly all over the place. We talked for what seemed like hours, there wasn't much to the story, but Jacob wanted every detail. After that, Jacob had some work to finish on his laptop, so I turned the TV on.

I clicked through some channels and stopped on a familiar face on a showbiz network. There was Edward, his golden hair, green eyes, and strong jawline, wrapped up in an Armani suit. "JAKE!" I called out to him; if he missed out, he would kill me.

Jake ran out of the room and sat down right next to me. "Isn't that your CEO of desire?" I rolled my eyes; my mouth was in a firm line. As my mind was wrapping around the idea of him being my CEO, my body was more than ready for anything, CEO or not; my body wanted him.

I huffed. Some blonde was next to Edward. I recognized her from the internet, she was the current model of Gucci or something, her name is Tanya Denali. I guess his type is blondes.

He looked at her, eyes filled with emotion; I couldn't quite make out what it was, affection? Maybe he wasn't doing the secretary; I mean, in the end, what did I really know about the guy other than the assumptions I made? Somehow I felt somewhat jealous; I wished those verdant green eyes would pierce me.

I slept my own face a little more forcefully than necessary. Why was I stripping my boss with my own eyes? Jacob looked at me and laughed deeply. "Bells has the hots for CEO balls." I slapped his upper arm playfully.

"I do not. We had a moment, but now that I know Edward is my boss, it's all gone." He wiggled his eyebrows. "He's not directly your boss tho." I bit my lip, holding in a laugh. Jacob was trying to change my mind. But CEO or boss feels like the same to me; he is above me. In a figure of speech, unfortunately.

"It is a quick way to get a promotion, Bella." I shot him a grossed-out look. "You know that's not me, Jake." He giggled and nodded. "I know, babe, just teasing you. I wouldn't judge you if you'd jump his bones; neither would I judge you if you didn't." He kissed my cheek quickly, and my heart warmed up. I had never met anyone more genuine than Jacob in my entire life.

When I entered the office and walked up to the elevator, I saw a familiar face waiting in front of it.

"Alice, right?" I questioned as I took in the short woman in front of me. She turned with graze, and a big smile crossed her face. "Bella!" Her excitement was abundant.

"So good to see you! What are you doing here?" She questioned me with her brows furrowed together.

"I work here; I had my first day yesterday; what about you?" She looked surprised and chuckled, "You never looked at my card, did you?" I frowned, confused. "I work here, Bella. I manage the HR department; Edward, the CEO, is my brother; I'm a Cullen." She continued.

I suddenly remember her at the club, Edward whispering something in her ear as our eyes locked. Did they both then know who I was back in the club? "I see," I said quietly, not knowing how to respond.

"I thought you looked familiar, but it's probably from your application; I'm sorry I didn't recognize you sooner!" She then added as the elevator opened. I stepped inside, following her, and she pressed six for me and ten for herself. "Thanks," I muttered, still baffled about the situation. If she only knew the unholy thoughts I had about her brother... My cheeks flushed red with the idea.

"You okay, Bella?" She suddenly asked with a charming smile. I nodded, "Yes, just problems getting used to waking up this early." I quickly lied. She smiled and nodded, accepting my answer.

We got to the sixth floor; I walked past her and gave her a smile. "See you later, Alice." "Bye, Bella, enjoy your day!" She exclaimed.
