Chapter 3

Hermione felt the eyes of the students directed at her. She hadn't thought about her move. What she didn't realize was that the appearance of her Harry could reveal one of her greatest secrets. To the boys, she was just their Calla. She was the girl they decided to defend and decided to join their unusual patchwork family.

"And this is our Calla. Calliope Nott."

She closed her eyes at the sound of Albert's voice. She felt her body tremble. She looked up and looked into the eyes of the man she treated as her father. - "Hermione Granger. The day I was adopted I stopped being Calliope Nott. At least officially. Staying at school is an official situation."

She knew her voice was laced with a mixture of fear, nervousness, and embarrassment. She wasn't afraid of where she would go if her true heritage were revealed. She was afraid that her heritage would make someone who should not know about her remember about her further existence.

After a while, she felt Thomas's fingers begin to intertwine with her own. She knew how much he looked like his father. And she knew it would be a bloody surreal situation for Albus Dumbledore who was sitting at the head table.

The Triwizard Tournament was supposed to be a surprise for students from all three schools. He had known about the attempts to revive the organization of this tournament for several months. He didn't expect that the biggest surprise would come from a tiny Gryffindor. Hermione Granger had surprised him since she first entered the walls of Hogwarts. Tough, fierce, cunning, intelligent…. Above all, she is ambitious. As headmaster of the school, he had the opportunity to talk to her many times and he didn't understand why she was assigned to Gryffindor.

He understood now. She was ambitious as a typical Slytherin, but she wasn't afraid to lose her trump card just to help her friend.

Albus Dumbledore closed his eyes and tried to calm down. After a while he looked again at the children standing next to Gellert's descendant and asked in a trembling voice. - "Calliope Nott?"

He hoped that the situation would be explained to him by Miss Granger, but the director of Ignite Academy took the floor. - "Our school takes care of orphaned children. Orphaned and abused. Our Calla came to us in a state that indicates that she is on the verge of life and death." - The older wizard couldn't help but notice the gentle look that the young wizard sent their apprentices. - "We named her after her mother. It was the only thing she could give her as a result of signing a strict engagement contract."

Albus felt shivering down his body. He knew who the daughter of Harry Potter's friend was. Their Harry Potter. Thorus Nott. During the First Wizarding War, rumors were circulating about the extreme brutality of this wizard. No charges were brought against him because there was no evidence. No charges were brought against him because there were no witnesses.

"I see. And the rest of the students?"

"That's something we can discuss later. I shared some of the circumstances of my meeting with this curly brunette just because a certain boy would realize how he treated his sister. Maybe it will reach him..."

Dumbledore saw a boy who looked like a walking copy of Tom Riddle put a hand on his Headmaster's forearm. - "IT'S NOT WORTH IT." - his voice was firm. - "It's a past. Now we must focus on keeping our sister and her friend safe. Someone is clearly trying to get rid of him and I wouldn't be surprised if it was my… mentally unbalanced father."

"You're right." - Albert Grindelwald turned to him and, with a soft smile on his face, asked, "Where can we sit?"

"At the Gryffindor table. If that's okay with you, of course."

He looked surprised as relief appeared on the faces of the newly arrived children. Then he looked at Severus Snape sitting next to Minerva. He got scared. The last time he saw such an expression on this wizard's face was the day he swept the incident with the werewolf under the rug. He was furious. It was evident that he needed an answer. If he was honest with himself, he wasn't surprised at all.

Lucius Snape. Severus stared at the child that was what he always dreamed of. His family. He used to think he would make a family with Lily Evans. That was before he discovered that his feelings for her were brother's for his sister, not boyfriend's for girlfriend. Then he fell in love with the sister of his friend from school. Leta. Leta Lestrange went missing shortly after...

He couldn't think about it. It was the loss of her smile and understanding that made him bitter. He didn't understand why he couldn't stop remembering her.

"Are you okay?" - the Potions Master heard Minerva whisper. They had long left behind the resentment of his time as a student at Hogwarts, and managed to form a fragile friendship. - "You're paler than usual."

"Are you surprised? There are kids in front of us, whose existence no one suspected. Son of the Dark Lord. Probably Narcissa Malfoy's son. Another Harry Potter, as if the existence of one wasn't enough. My son…"

"He's very handsome. Do you know who his mother might be?"

"I know."

He thanked Minerva for not elaborating on this topic. One of her best qualities was the ability to leave a topic that interested her. She waited for someone to feel like confiding himself.

"Don't forget Grindelwald's grandson. We have descendants of two dark wizards in one room." - The old witch sighed. - "Miss Granger..."

"And Miss Granger is, of course, if I'm not mistaken, Theodore Nott's sister." - Severus thought about the reaction of the quiet boy who, like him, always dreamed of a family - "And pure-blooded witch."

"What do you mean boy?" - A characteristic wrinkle appeared between Minerva's eyebrows, which appeared when the Scot was irritated with something.

"My godson has a crush on Miss Granger. Lucius vehemently opposes Draco's attempt to establish a positive relationship with her because of her heritage. What do you think will happen when Lord Malfoy finds out that Hermione Granger isn't only pureblood, but she also comes from a closely related family?"

"I understand your point, Severus. I will have to watch her."

"And this is our Calla. Calliope Nott."

Theodore Nott began to choke at the sound of these words. His mother was called Calliope Nott. Thorus Nott wasn't aware that Theo had known about his sister's existence for a long time. While his father spent his time traveling or visiting his many businesses and even more numerous "friends", house elves took care of him. And that's what they said that before him there was a little girl in their house who had died. Could it be her? Was Hermione Granger his sister? He knew he couldn't take it. On the one hand, he would like it to be true, and on the other… He would have had to come to terms with the fact that for the past three years he and his friends had been harassing someone he should be caring for.

He sighed and looked at his friend. - "Don't even think about it." - he growled as soon as he saw the sparks in Draco's eyes.

"What do you mean? Now is different. I don't have to…" - He interrupted him, hitting him on the shoulder.

"I'm telling you, don't even think about it. Hermione is out of your reach. Even if she really is my sister."

He knew he wouldn't let Malfoy get near her. Not if it was enough to change her blood status to make him want to talk to her. He would have to prove he cares about her for her not for her status.

He couldn't help but smile on his face. When he first saw Hermione sitting at the Gryffindor table, she didn't catch his attention. Back then, he felt as if she was looking at him like any other witch who is looking at him not as Victor Krum - a boy, but Victor Krum - a Quidditch player. Only later did he change his mind about her. With each conversation they had, he felt he wanted to be closer to her. This is why it flattered him that she decided to share her secret with him. He was intrigued with how cautious she was about things that, judging from her friends' reactions, only he knew at this school.

"Did you know?" - he heard Mikhail whisper across the table, speaking Bulgarian. - "Did you know who she is?"

"Da. She told me everything. We talked about Grindelwald's history and his expulsion from school. She was worried. It was obvious that she wasn't sure whether to tell me about it, but she decided to do it. I had to make a decision if I still wanted to talk to her."

"She trusted you." - A wide smile appeared on his friend's face, they both believed that trust is very important - "What will you do with him?" - Mikhail nodded at the blonde who sat near them.

"I don't know yet. However, I certainly won't give up without a fight. Especially that not only the blonde has romantic intentions towards Hermione."

Victor's jaw clenched at the thought of a boy named Ronald Weasley. A redhead who hasn't yet realized why he so often looks at this extraordinary witch stealthily. The Bulgarian sighed and relaxed as he saw Hermione looking at him with a smile on her face. He wanted to talk to her. And he won't hide it anymore.

How did you like this chapter? I thought I'd include Victor's POV here, which is one of my favorites. The next chapter will be about how Lucius Snape ended up in Albert's hands. Regards, katie-krum
