About a month after what had become known as "The World of Light Incident," Pit went up to Palutena to seek an audience with her. She allowed him to speak with her.

"Lady Palutena," Pit said, "I'm going to ask Rosalina to marry me."

Palutena looked down at Pit. "I see. You understand that relationships such as these are generally frowned upon?"

"Yes. And I love Rosalina so much that I don't care what anyone else thinks. As long as I'm with her, I know I'll be happy. The same way that Marth and Peach are so happy together."

"Have you come to ask for my blessing?"

"Yes, my lady."

Palutena stared at Pit for what felt like forever to him. "Okay. It's fine," she said.

"Wait, that's it?"

"Yeah. I think you two make a cute couple. I'm not gonna stop you from asking her to marry you."

"Then what was all that about the 'frowning upon' and stuff?"

"Oh, I was just teasing you."

Pit sighed. "You'd think after hundreds of years, I'd know when she's doing that…"

A few days later, Palutena noticed Pit working at one of the computers. He was copying a large number of files onto his music player.

"What are you doing, Pit?" she asked.

"I'm making a playlist of the different songs I want playing when I propose to Rosalina."

"Why?"

"Well, I wanted to go with one song, but there's so many songs I thought would work for it and it got too hard to pick just one."

"Why do you need a song, let alone a whole playlist, just to ask her to marry you?"

"To go with the light show I have planned."

"Pit, I think you might be going overboard with this. If Rosalina loves you, and I know she does, she'll be happy with a simple proposal."

"But Rosalina deserves more than just that. She deserves a proposal that she'll remember for the rest of eternity. She deserves a proposal that is legendary."

Palutena sighed. "He really needs to know when to play it cool…"

The next night, Pit was sitting on the balcony outside his room. He had set up a few speakers and his music player. It had been loaded with the most romantic songs he could find. He tested everything and rehearsed his proposal to make it the best it could be.

Rosalina soon joined him. "Pit?" she asked, "You said you wanted to talk to me?"

Pit put his script away. "Rosalina, when we were killed by Galeem, in the last few seconds before I died, I was thinking about how much I wanted to be with you in my last few seconds. And when I was freed from Galeem's control, I realized that I didn't want to ever spend another day where we weren't together in some way." He got down on one knee and pulled out a small box. "Rosalina, my galactic goddess…"

"Pit, I think I know where you're going with this."

"You do?"

"Yes. And my answer is no."

Pit's heart sank. "Wh-why?"

Rosalina pulled out a ring. "Because I wanted to propose to you."

"Oh. Okay." He pointed to his music player. "You want to borrow my playlist?"

Rosalina chuckled. "No. I'll propose in silence." She got down on her knee. "Pit, will you marry me?"

Pit opened up his box. He took out his ring. "I will if you will."

Rosalina chuckled. He slipped the ring onto her left ring finger, and she slipped the ring onto his left ring finger.

"You wanna listen to music?" he asked, "I have about an hour's worth of songs."

"How long were you planning to make your proposal?" she asked.

"Let's just said I had a hard time deciding on the best song to go with…"
