Slayer Compound

Mid Afternoon

"I can't track Lucien, Amy must be cloaking him somehow," Willow said in frustration as she, Buffy, Faith and Dawn stood around the map of New York. "But I did find two more of our dimension hoppers if that's what we're calling them."

"Seems as good as anything else. Where are they?" Buffy asked eager to catch them so they could focus on Lucien and Amy.

"In a magic shop in Brooklyn. They're together. After Lucien, I don't think you should go alone," Willow said and Buffy nodded.

"Yeah, I'm not taking any chances. Faith and I will meet Giles and Xander there," Buffy ordered, her sister slayer nodding as Buffy turned to Dawn, who looked ready to protest. "Dawnie, we don't know what we're dealing with and after Lucien and Kai, I'm not risking you."

Dawn looked like she wanted to protest but, realizing Buffy wasn't changing her mind, sighed and sat next to Willow. Buffy, relieved Dawn wasn't going to fight her on this, turned to Faith.

"You ready F?"

"You know me B, I'm always up for a fight," Faith said with a smirk.

Brooklyn

Later in the afternoon

"That is quite a story," the woman, who had introduced herself as Kate mused once Elijah and Klaus had finished explaining what had happened.

"It is difficult to believe, I understand," Elijah said.

"Oh no, I believe you. No one could come up with a lie that crazy," Kate assured him.

"Do you have any idea what's happening to us?" Klaus inquired and Kate was silent for a long moment.

"What do you two know about the multiverse?" Kate finally asked and the two brothers shot her odd looks.

"The theory that there are multiple worlds?" Elijah asked and Kate nodded.

"It's not so much a theory. There are in fact other worlds out there, different dimensions. I believe whatever happened, you were dragged from yours to ours," Kate explained.

"What makes you say that?" Klaus asked suspiciously.

"Because I sense your souls. Vampires here don't have them. And I've certainly never heard of a Vampire/Werewolf hybrid. It's the only thing that makes sense," Kate explained as the brothers exchanged weary glances.

"Who could have brought us here?" Elijah inquired and Kate shrugged.

"I don't know. But it had to be a very powerful witch," Kate explained.

"Then we'll have to find her and make her send us back," Klaus growled, his eyes narrowing and his eyes turning the slightest shade of blue.

Outside the shop, two cars and a motorcycle drove up. Faith got off her motorcycle as Buffy got out of one car and Giles and Xander got out of the other.

"You sure we're in the right place Buff?" Xander asked as he looked around, finding no signs of trouble.

"This is where Willow said they were, and I've learned to trust her at this kind of thing," Buffy said as she eyed the shop wearily. "Although I guess we should take it as a good sign that no one's dead yet. Kai left dozens of people dead."

"Sounds like he'd get along great with Angelus," Faith muttered and Buffy grimaced, not disagreeing.

"We should still be very cautious. We don't know what we may be dealing with," Giles cautioned them.

Inside the shop, Klaus and Elijah had paused; listening to what was going on outside before the two brothers exchanged a dark look.

"Something wrong?" Kate asked as she saw the exchange.

"It appears the ones who brought us here may be outside," Elijah mused. "At any rate, they seem to know we do not belong here."

"I agreed to help you, but I don't want any violence in my shop," Kate said firmly and Klaus smiled.

"You need not worry. I think it's time we give them a proper greeting," Klaus said darkly.

Outside, everyone had grabbed their crossbows when someone had sped behind Xander. Xander yelped as Klaus knocked the crossbow out of his hands. The others whirled around as Xander pulled out a stake but Klaus easily grabbed it out of his hand before speeding behind the human, grabbing him around his neck with his free hand.

"Very impressive system, if you're a newly turned vampire," Klaus said sarcastically, glancing at the stake before tossing it aside. "But I'm a little passed that."

"Let him go," Buffy demanded as she, Giles and Faith aimed their crossbows at him.

"You're in no position to make demands. Do you realize the danger you have brought by bringing me here?" Klaus snarled, taking them all back.

"You know?" Xander asked in shock.

"You should be careful what you say," the others looked over their shoulder as Elijah approached. "You never know who might be listening."

"Where's the stake? What did you do with it?!" Klaus snarled, his eyes starting to glow blue.

"Uh, you just threw it away," Xander supplied unhelpfully.

"Come now, deceit will get you nowhere. My brother means the White Oak Stake," Elijah said calmly.

"What do you want with it? Leverage, power?" Klaus demanded.

"We don't know what you're talking about, okay?" Faith said as the Scoobies exchanged bewildered glances.

"They lie," Klaus stiffened as Mikael appeared over his shoulder. "They brought you here, put your daughter and everyone you love at risk, and now they would make a fool of you. Show them how we deal with enemies in our family."

"Were you not the ones who brought us here?" Elijah asked, oblivious to the visions that taunted his brother.

"We were, but it was kind of an accident," Buffy said as she glanced back and for the between the two. "There was this ritual that got disrupted and it sort of dragged you guys here."

"You expect us to believe this was all a mistake?" Klaus almost growled and Elijah frowned, sensing his brother was close to lashing out.

"My brother is correct, the idea that you brought us here by mistake is hard to believe," Elijah noted.

"Well it's true. We've been going from one end of the city to the other trying to track down everyone else we brought here. And is no one else noticing the glowing eye thing your brother has going on?" Faith asked as she glanced at Klaus.

Elijah whipped his head towards Klaus, seeing his brother's eyes were indeed glowing.

"Niklaus, whatever you are seeing, you cannot let it control you," Elijah told him cautiously as the Scoobies looked torn between curiosity and worry for Xander.

"Listen to him," Cami said as she appeared behind Klaus. "If you want a chance to get a get out of this, you can't go on one of your benders of violence. You need to stay calm Klaus."

Klaus almost growled but knew his brother and Cami were right. So, before he changed his mind, he shoved Xander towards the Scoobies, the glow fading from his eyes.

"Explain. Now," Klaus demanded.

"Well, like I said, there was a ritual. There was a witch who was trying to rewrite our reality. We tried to stop the ritual, but we brought you here by mistake," Buffy said apologetically.

"You expect us to believe that madness?" Klaus snarled, feeling the Hollow try to make him lash out.

"Niklaus, even you could not think up such a mad tale," Elijah pointed out, walking over to his brother. "You'll have to forgive my brother. He is not himself."

"Can we take five for a minute? I need to…talk to my friends," Buffy said lamely, not certain they would allow it, but the one in the suit seemed reasonable enough.

"My brother and I need to speak as well," Elijah said, glancing at Klaus.

"Oh good. We'll just…be right over here," Buffy said before she dragged the others a little away.

"Buff, maybe we shouldn't be talking while the demons are a few feet away," Xander said uneasily, his hand on his throat where Klaus had grabbed him.

"They don't seem violent. Just confused and scared," Buffy argued.

"You sure about that, because the blond guy seemed ready to rip my throat out," Xander protested.

"I think he's being influenced by something," Buffy argued, reminded of Spike while he was under the influence of The First. "The other one said he was seeing things."

"Would explain the glowing eyes," Faith shrugged.

"Does it truly matter? They seem to be a different breed of vampire," Giles said, glancing at Elijah and Klaus wearily.

"They don't seem like ours. Or at least not the ones we've had so far," Buffy added, thinking of Kai.

"Either way, they're demons, let's put them in a cage," Xander urged.

"We can't beat evil by doing evil Xander," Buffy said, looking over at him before glancing at Giles. "Either way, there's something wrong with the blond one. We need to help him."

"Buff, he's a demon, or at least a vampire," Xander argued feeling agitated that Buffy wasn't seeing things the way he was.

"Perhaps Buffy is right. The vampire we encountered did only attack once he knew we were after him," Giles mused. "These vampires might be different."

"Not all demons are monsters Xand-Man," Faith told the frustrated Xander.

"Demon, vampire or whatever, I just can't turn my back on these guys. Besides, if we don't help, he might lash out and hurt someone," Buffy said firmly before noticing Giles looking at her. "What?"

"Forgive me. I just…sometimes, I still see the young girl who walked into the library. I'm so proud of how far you've come," Giles said with a proud smile.

"Giles," Buffy said touched.

A few feet away, Elijah placed a hand on Klaus's shoulder.

"The Hollow, it's affecting you worse than me," Elijah noted worriedly.

"We both know I was never the most restrained brother. It keeps taunting me. I see father…and Camille," Klaus said, a wounded look in his eyes. "We need to find the stake, soon."

Before Elijah could respond, Buffy walked over.

"Hey. I know you two are confused and need help. So we're gonna take you back to our HQ and see if we can figure out how to get you home," Buffy said.

"And we're just supposed to trust you? Did you not come here with the intention of capturing us?" Klaus said, almost laughing at the absurdity of the situation.

"You're only other option here is to wonder around, hoping you can figure out how to get home on your own. And no offense, but I've got the most powerful witch in the world on my team," Buffy said snarkily.

"She's snarky, I like her," Cami said as she once more appeared over Klaus's shoulder. "Come on, are you really gonna turn down your best option to get home?"

"She makes a valid point Niklaus," Elijah unknowingly added to Cami's argument. "And a witch would be helpful."

Klaus almost growled but, reluctantly, he did see the logic in this movie.

"Very well," Klaus said, looking like he'd just swallowed acid. "We will come with you. I hope your witch has some answers."

"Gee, you threaten everyone you meet?" Buffy asked sarcastically, hearing the implied threat in Klaus's voice.

"Only those I like," Klaus said with a smirk.

Buffy stared at him for a long moment, briefly reminded of Spike. Then, she turned towards their cars.

"Come on, you and I'll take my car. Your brother can ride with Faith."

Slayer Compound

Later in the afternoon

"Okay, that's great. I'll see you then," Willow said before hanging up.

"They found those two dimension hoppers?" Dawn asked as she looked up from where she was staring at the map.

"Yeah, and she's bringing them back here," Willow said and Dawn frowned.

"Why didn't she just shoot them with the crossbow?" Dawn wondered.

"She says they're different than the others, she wants to them," Willow said, smiling at Dawn's dumbfounded look.

"We're sure we're talking about the same Buffy here?" Dawn asked skeptically.

"Maybe she's growing up," Willow said with a shrug.

Car, en route to Slayer Compound

Night

Buffy was driving her car, Klaus sitting in the passenger seat. It had been quiet since they'd taken off for the Compound and Buffy couldn't take it anymore.

"So, read any good books lately?" Buffy asked lamely and Klaus looked at her oddly.

"I've been busy," Klaus said gruffly.

"Being influenced by whatever you're seeing, right?" Buffy asked and Klaus was surprised she'd figured it out. "I had a friend who went through something similar, I know the signs. Plus, your brother did say you were seeing things."

"Elijah talks too much," Klaus said with a slight chuckle.

"So what is it exactly?" Buffy asked curiously and Klaus was silent for a long moment.

"It's hard to explain. It's a spirit of a witch, one that takes delight in the chaos it causes. It sought to possess my daughter, so I took it all into me," Klaus explained, seeing no point in hiding the truth.

"So it could possess you instead?" Buffy asked in disbelief.

"No, so I could end it. I planned to stake myself with the White Oak Stake the moment I absorbed it," Klaus declared to her shock. "Only fate intervened. And now I am here, listening to it taunt me as it risks everyone I love."

Buffy was silent as she absorbed this. She didn't understand a lot of what was going on with Klaus, but she knew she had to help him. And she hoped Willow could find a way to do just that.

The rest of the car ride was silent until they pulled up in front of the Compound. Klaus and Buffy got out just as the second car pulled up behind them. It stopped and Giles, Xander, Faith and Elijah got out.

"You owe me if someone takes my bike B," Faith joked.

"I'll put it on my tab F," Buffy joked back.

"Shall we go in?" Giles asked as he gestured to the building.

Klaus and Elijah looked at it, Klaus unimpressed. It was a decent building, but it was nothing compared to some of the places he'd lived.

"Yes. Thank you for hospitality," Elijah said gratefully.

"Okay, can we just get this over with?" Xander asked annoyed, still not believing that they were helping Vampires.

Angel and Spike were one thing, but this was getting too much for Xander to handle.

The group headed inside, where they met Willow and Dawn on the ground floor.

"Boys, this is Willow, the witch I was talking about, and my sister Dawn. Will, Dawn, this is Klaus and Elijah," Buffy made the introductions.

"A pleasure," Elijah said politely as Klaus looked towards Willow.

"You can get us home?" Klaus inquired.

"I'm working on it. But we still one more of you we need to find before we do," Willow explained.

"Then we shall help you do so," Elijah promised.

"Well it's not gonna be easy, Lucien's strong," Faith mentioned and the brothers looked towards her sharply. "What?"

"English accent, dark hair and eyes?" Klaus asked hurriedly and the Scoobies noticed the fear and shock on his and Elijah's faces.

"Yeah, and a real creep to," Faith confirmed, looking at them oddly. "You know him?"

"Yes, Niklaus and Lucien have quite a history that begins with turning Lucien into a vampire and ends with Lucien dead at his hand," Elijah mentioned to the shock of the Scoobies.

"You're saying you killed Lucien," Buffy said as she turned to Klaus.

"I made sure he was dead. It's not possible for him to still be alive," Klaus said in denial.

"It is if he was dragged from an earlier point in time than you two," Willow said as the realization washed over her. "Amy's ritual was meant to rewrite reality but I disrupted it. It dragged you each from different points in time."

"That Vamp I captured before Lucien showed up did mention Rayna was supposed to be dead," Faith mused.

"Rayna, Rayna Cruz?" Klaus asked as he and Elijah looked alarmed.

"She never gave me a last name, but she's strong, brunette with an attitude. You know her to?" Faith asked.

"Merely by reputation. She's an immortal vampire huntress, one who does not discriminate about which vampire she may kill," Elijah explained. "Nor does she care about collateral damage."

"Great, so we have a vampire version of a serial killer," Buffy rolled her eyes annoyed.

"Not seeing the downside. It's vamps against humans guys," Xander tried to reason.

Buffy glared at him and Xander gulped as she walked up to him.

"With that kind of attitude, no wonder Tara didn't feel she could come to us when her family came to town," Buffy said coolly.

Xander looked wounded while Willow looked down with a flinch at the name of her lost love. Faith almost went to her but paused, knowing Giles and Xander didn't know yet. And it wasn't the time to oust their relationship.

"You said you'd captured others. Where are they?" Elijah inquired.

"Ugg, can someone get us out of here yet?" Kai whined from his cell.

"I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I wish someone would kill me," Rayna groaned in annoyance.

"You offering?" Stefan asked dryly.

"Don't touch her," Enzo snapped at him, knowing Bonnie still needed her last life.

"How about I kill you instead?" Stefan said with a dark smile.

"I'm surrounded by vampires, males at that. Is this Hell?" Rayna wondered.

"Hell would be where someone like you would end up," Buffy snapped as the group walked down into the basement.

The four prisoners looked over as the Scoobies and Mikaelsons walked into the room. As Klaus and Elijah glanced at the cells, they paused as they saw Stefan.

"Stefan," Klaus said in surprise.

"Hey Klaus," Stefan greeted with a sarcastic smile.

"You know him to?" Xander asked dryly.

"Mr. Salvatore goes back quite a bit with my family," Elijah confirmed. "And it also confirms Willow's theory that we were taken from different times."

"What on earth are you talking about Elijah?" Stefan asked bored.

"You died Stefan, years ago," Klaus announced, to the shock of everyone.

"What?" Stefan asked the barest hint of emotion on his face.

"The way we heard the story, you sacrificed yourself to save Mystic Falls, on your and Caroline's wedding day," Klaus explained.

"Oh great, so I go back to being that guy," Stefan rolled his eyes.

"You have your humanity off," Elijah noted and Stefan smiled darkly.

"What gave it away?"

"Humanity off?" Giles asked curiously.

"Vampires from our world have the ability to flip a switch you might say, shut out all feelings of regret, right or wrong, all emotion. Mr. Salvatore has flipped his," Elijah noted. "Although why, I cannot say."

"He made a Devil's Bargain, literally, to save Caroline's daughters," Enzo supplied and Stefan rolled his eyes.

"I really wish I had been able to kill you before I was dragged here," Stefan said annoyed. "I only wish I could see Bonnie's face when I killed you."

"You mean she's still alive in your time? Damn," Kai groaned. "How though? I mean, Damon just walked out on her as she was dying."

"You clearly don't know my brother very well. Bonnie Bennett has him wrapped around her little finger," Stefan grumbled.

"I know right? It's kind of nauseating. I mean, he once threatened me just for talking to her," Kai agreed before the truth sunk in. "Shit. Damon was about to kill me and then save her, wasn't he?"

"And the prize goes to the idiot," Rayna grumbled.

"So wait, all of them died?" Dawn asked as the realization sunk in.

"If we send them back, we're as good as killing them," Buffy said, conflicted.

"I wouldn't worry about that Buffy."

Startled, the group turned around. Amy was walking down the steps, Lucien right behind her.

"You won't be getting that far," Amy said with a smirk.

"Oh great, another one. Who the Hell is she?" Stefan asked bored.

"The witch who brought you all here," Willow said evenly as she eyed Amy. "How'd you find us?"

"Come on Willow, you honestly didn't think I didn't know about this place? Please," Amy laughed mockingly.

"Lucien," Klaus growled as he glared at Lucien.

"Hello Nik. It's the strangest thing really; I was on my way to pay a visit to your precious Cami when I found myself in this new world. I thought I'd make you suffer by killing the woman you love. But here you are, as if delivered to me on a silver platter. Why kill Cami, when I can kill you and your brother?" Lucien said with a dark smile.

"No one is killing anyone," Buffy said as she stepped forward.

"I'm afraid that's not up to you Buffy," Amy said, smiling as several Shadowkhan rose out of the ground.

"You tried to help them. Do you have any idea that amount of blood on their hands? Niklaus killed his own mother and father. And Elijah? He puts up a civilized front, the noble brother they call him. But he's every bit the monster Niklaus is. And it will be an honor to kill them both," Lucien said sadistically.

"Looks it's been fun and all, but I've learned enough. I don't really feel like going back home just to get killed," Kai spoke up. "So, I think it's time to blow this joint."

Kai then placed his hands towards the edge of the magical barrier. Even as it began shocking him, Kai's palms began glowing red. Enzo, seeing this, immediately realized what was happening.

"He's siphoning the magic!" he shouted out a warning.

Willow turned towards Kai's cell but, before she could do anything, dark lightning shot out from Amy's left hand and struck her, sending Willow flying across the room.

"I don't think so," Amy said gleefully.

As Willow hit a wall, trying to recover from Amy's attack, the magical barrier around the cells faded. Kai stepped out, immediately sending a powerful gust of wind that sent all humans in the room flying across the room and falling on their backs.

"Thanks for all the information about me dying and everything, but I think I'm gonna bail. See ya soon," Kai said cheerfully before, to the shock of everyone else, he seemed to vanish right in front of their eyes.

Lucien then sped over to Klaus, delivering a punch to his chest and that sent him crashing into the side of a wall. Elijah moved to intervene but found himself surrounded by Shadowkhan.

"I don't think Elijah will be coming to your rescue this time Klaus," Lucien said smugly as he approached the Hybrid. "I have been waiting a very long time for this."

Klaus lifted his head, his eyes now glowing blue before he jumped to his feet, rushing and tackling Lucien.

Elijah began battling the Shadowkhan with ease as the Scoobies began pulling themselves to their feet. More Shadowkhan began appearing, rushing the Scoobies, who began fighting them off. While Xander and Dawn struggled a bit, Buffy, Faith and Giles fought them off with a bit more ease. Dawn was tackled to the ground by one before a hand suddenly burst through its chest. Dawn watched in shock as the Shadowkhan disintegrated, leaving Enzo standing over her with a hand stretched out.

"Are you alright?" Enzo asked as he offered a hand to help her up.

Before Dawn could respond, they found themselves surrounded by more Shadowkhan. Enzo began attacking them at vampire speed while Dawn began fighting them off as best she could, realizing that at the very least, Enzo was an ally.

Lucien kicked Klaus with enough force that it sent him flying into the wall and Klaus could hear the stone crack behind him.

"Well look at this. A former stable boy, besting a tyrannical king. You must admit, it's a Hell of a story," Lucien said gleefully as he approached Klaus.

Klaus got to his feet and once more tried to rush Lucien but Lucien punched him, sending Klaus flying back.

Seeing this, Elijah sent all the Shadowkhan he was fighting flying before rushing towards Lucien. But Lucien turned around, grabbed Elijah by the throat and slammed him into the ground.

"Now now Elijah, wait your turn. I'll deal with you later," Lucien said darkly.

Willow was managing to pull herself to her feet when another blast of lightning hit her, sending her down to the floor, close to unconscious.

"You're all worn out, aren't you?" Amy noted as she approached with two Shadowkhans. "Maintaining that prison and locating all the people dragged over here must have taken a lot of power. Poor thing, you must be exhausted. But don't worry; you'll be getting plenty of rest where you're going."

Faith was fighting off some Shadowkhan when she saw Willow being lifted into the air by two Shadowkhan. Seeing Faith watching, Amy smirked.

"Sorry, I have need of Willow. Later," Amy said mockingly.

Amy then laughed as she, Willow and the Shadowkhan disappeared into the shadows.

Enraged, Faith punched the Shadowkhan she was finding hard enough to disintegrate them. But it did nothing to make her feel better, because her girl was still gone.

Enzo had just killed another Shadowkhan when he was tackled from behind. Enzo tried to fight them off but was punched, landing on his back before Rayna jumped on top of him.

"Not the vampire I wanted to kill, but you'll do," Rayna sneered, beginning to try and dig her way into Enzo's chest with her bare hands.

Before she could get far, Dawn jumped on Rayna's back, clawing at her face. Rayna growled before letting go of Enzo, grabbing Dawn and throwing her into a nearby wall. Dawn went down on her side, grimacing in pain as Rayna began to approach her before Enzo rushed her, kicking her and sending her crashing into one of the cells.

"Don't touch the girl," Enzo said firmly.

"Fine, how about I touch you instead?" Rayna sneered before she jumped up and rushed him again.

From a corner outside his cell, Stefan watched as Enzo and Rayna fought before smirking.

"Really takes care of my 'kill Enzo' problem. And don't really feel like dying. Later," Stefan chuckled before speeding out of the room.

Lucien slammed Klaus against a wall before kicking him. The wall shattered as Klaus crashed through it. Klaus was sent crashing onto the ground, gasping weakly as Lucien approached him. But before Lucien could do anything, Buffy jumped onto his back, grabbing him by the back of his shirt and throwing him into a nearby wall.

"Where did Amy take Willow?" Buffy demanded and Lucien laughed.

"You think you can make demands of me? The Slayer, too used to having people listen to her orders. You'll find I am not one of your lackeys," Lucien chuckled.

Angrily, Buffy rushed him, attempting to slug Lucien. But, to her shock, Lucien easily caught her fist before throwing her down onto the ground. The stone beneath Buffy's back cracked as she gasped in pain.

Lucien wasn't as strong as Glory, Buffy realized. But he was still pretty powerful.

"I wonder, how does the blood of a Slayer taste?" Lucien asked menacingly as he approached Buffy.

Before he could find out, Klaus had risen to his feet and tackled Lucien away from Buffy. They strummed through the broken wall before Lucian laughed, grabbing Klaus by his throat and slamming him down to the ground.

"I could kill you right here Niklaus. But I won't. Because I want to make you suffer first. This was only the opening act. I can't wait for you to see the main event," Lucien chuckled darkly. "But first, I'm going to make you feel as helpless as I did when Elijah's compulsion wore off."

Lucien got to his feet, beginning to head back through the broken wall. Buffy was beginning to pull herself to her feet when Lucien sped over, punching her and sending her crashing into another part of the underground chamber.

"You tried to help Klaus and Elijah. Part of me admires that, but they do not deserve your help. I wanted to kill his beloved Camille, but I think killing the only person here who was trying to help Klaus will do just as well," Lucien said menacingly.

Lucien than punched Buffy in the abdomen, sending her to her knees before he grabbed her by her throat, slamming her down to the floor.

"Careful now Slayer, don't choke on your efforts," Lucien said mockingly, gleefully watching as Buffy struggled with his hand around her throat.

Someone then jumped on his back, plunging a stake into Lucien's heart. But Lucien let go of Buffy and yanked them off before standing up, yanking the bloodied stake out of his chest. He dropped it to the ground and turned to Giles, who stared at him in disbelief.

"Stakes do work on me anymore. I am beyond any vampire you have ever encountered," Lucien boasted before a thought occurred to him. "You know, I don't need to kill you after all Slayer. I just need to make you suffer."

Lucien then sped over to Giles, making sure Buffy was watching, and grabbed Giles's head. Buffy could only watched in horror as Lucien twisted his neck and a sickening crack was heard.

"NO!" Buffy wailed in horror as Lucien let Giles drop to the floor.

"How many people are you willing to lose Slayer? Because you will lose all of them if you continue on this path," Lucien warned her.

Without another word, Lucien sped out of the room, grabbed Rayna and sped out, leaving the Compound. The others all looked around as the remaining Shadowkhan all disappeared into the shadow.

"Giles! Giles!" Buffy cried as she made her way over to her mentor's side as quickly as she could.

His head was bent at an odd angle as his eyes stared lifelessly, his glasses having fallen when Lucien snapped his neck. Klaus managed to pull himself to his feet, watching sadly as Buffy collapsed onto her mentor's chest, sobbing in wails of despair. And he couldn't help but feel that he was to blame for all this.

Elijah stood up, watching with his brother as Xander and Faith watched with disbelief. Dawn fell to her knees, tears falling from her eyes, barely aware of Enzo placing a hand on her shoulder.

The Scoobies had lost their friend, mentor and, to many of them, the closest thing they had ever had to a father. None of them could ever see how this was going to be okay ever again.

Well that was difficult to write, for obvious reasons, but hope you guys enjoyed it.

Hope Buffy's reasons for wanting to help Klaus and Elijah made sense.

I went back and forth on whether to have Lucien kill Giles or not, but Lucien has proved he's not above making someone who has done him no wrong suffer or killing innocent people.
