Season Five – 'Adjustment'

Premise:

The crew of Destiny exited stasis only to discover two new passengers from another universe, which have spent their time fixing the ship. After some deliberations, they choose the keep them onboard as their newest allies.

Not long after, an Ancient seed ship nearly killed them all forcing them to start exploring the reason for that. Some of the discoveries they made shook them to their core and beliefs but much mystery remains. And one of the biggest ones is another powerful being that keeps obstructing Diablo in his quest for the truth.

Unsatisfied with the lack of progress of the SGC, Diablo leaves the ship and returns to the Milky Way Galaxy to dig up the history of the Ancients. Meanwhile on the Destiny life continues as the crew adjusts to the new realities.

Chapter 10

Unusual stormy clouds covered the entirety of the Nevada state. No rain just thunders. The climate experts were at a loss as they couldn't explain this anomalous weather. The wind was also an unpredictable variable. At times it was as strong as a hurricane while most of the time there was just a slight breeze.

Its greatest concentration however lied above Area 51. The clouds there were the darkest and the sound of thunder was pretty much all the sound one could hear. The scariest part was the constant bombardment of pure lightning bolts. Some made impact with the ground leaving nothing but a polished like glass asphalt and the rest stood in an eerie suspended version of falling streaks of snow or rain.

In a way, there was beauty in it though not for the people on the base. Their number was reduced to a bare minimum in order to avoid any unwanted incidents. And incidents there were at least in the first few days. People had started to admire the beauty of it but some were unfortunate to touch the suspended lightning bolts. They quickly discovered that to be a mistake as they were no illusion and very much the real thing.

Since then no one was allowed anywhere near them. Of course some did not listen and were now in the local hospital where the doctors were trying to revive them. But it appeared that their nervous system was simply overrun with energy. They were still alive but not really living.

"Colonel Carter, this is intolerable. My base is completely shut down because of this man's mood swings." The newly appointed leader of Area 51 General Dorchester said at the briefing.

"I understand your concern, General. But until we can get Viz here from Destiny, you will have to live with it."

General Bill Dorchester had been briefed about the reality of many things including Destiny and Diablo. He had difficulty with the concept of alien life let alone one from another universe. He was a straight up military officer. He counted enemies that he could reach not ones that lived in science fiction.

"How long would that take – another millennium?"

"Getting to a recently deceased body in time has proven difficult. It arises all sort of weird questions we are trying to avoid."

"I see. No brain dead walking around either I take it?"

"Sadly no,"

"Can't you built some robot body and transfer him this way?"

"If he was android maybe, but he's a living being. It doesn't work that way."

"I can't be held hostage in my own base."

Colonel Carter chose not to answer that. Her team and she had been in worse situations. Of course, she realized that the good general was quite new to all this.

"Such passion, mon generale." Diablo's voice cut the awkward silence in the general's room.

"Who said that?" The general started looking around and then he froze as Diablo materialized inside the room.

"General Dorchester may I present Lord Diablo." Carter presented.

"Mon generale," Diablo bowed in courtesy. "It is a pleasure to meet such a stuck up and principled general."

"Stuck up?"

"Well, yes, I read your file. It is most impressive but yes you are stuck up – narrow minded. I imagine that's why they punished you with this posting here."

"You read my file?"

"Well, yes, I do have access to the world wide web. And your DoD's cyber defences are for shit. A third grader can get in with blunt ease."

General Dorchester opened and closed his mouth. This alien, this thing, had to audacity to...

"Don't be so stump, mon generale. I do that all the time. It is always prudent to know who you are addressing. I am sure you will agree that being prepared is the thing to do."

"On that we agree though not the methodology."

"Well, didn't you tell your superiors that the ends justify the means?"

"I...well... I did but that's out of context."

"Ah, and context is for kings." Diablo smiled. "Still had it not been so narrow minded, it would have been already third star general."

"I am not, narrow minded!"

"Yeah, so gays, left or right, middle, blacks, yellow, short, fat, uneducated villagers, and women are not part of that?"

Colonel Carter had heard of such behaviour but never met anyone that thought that way recently or at all. She couldn't believe the Brass will appoint such a person to a post as important as Area 51.

"Weirdly enough you have no prejudices." Diablo added. "But you still think that the armed forces should be stalwart, straight up guys, and mostly white. Of course nowadays views will see you as racist and sexist, among other things."

"There is nothing wrong with the purity of forces."

"So you do not believe that differences unite us?"

"Soldiers are there to obey orders not express opinions in the middle of a battle."

"I do agree with that but to a point. Not all strategies go according to plan and then you may want your troops to be able to improvise, to adapt, otherwise they will perish and you with them."

"My plans do not go awry."

"Ah, now we get to the core of the issue. But I can prove to you general that the mixed troops will beat your straight white formation any time just because they are capable of improvisation and yours are not."

"I accept this challenge."

"From diversity the purity of thought is born not from stagnation. But yeah sure, let's joust."

"When and where?"

"How about here – in the base of hell?"

"Ah, what's going on?" Carter interjected.

"Just a friendly competition, mon colonel." Diablo replied with a smile. "Get the general's troops here."

"I don't have such authority."

"Oh, just tell them to do it otherwise they might start seeing lightning bolts all over the state."

"That's blackmail."

"No, that is the end justifies the means."

Carter left and headed back to the SGC to relay the request. On the way, she wondered what that was about. She had some reading to do about this general. Diablo's unusual interest in him had to have a base.

"Your performance is worthy of an Oscar, Bill." Diablo said as Carter left.

"Did you have to tell her that I hate everyone?"

"Oh, don't be such a sissy! Did you acquire it?"

"It is all you care about, right? I do not enjoy the role you have given me. I was liked before, now, everyone hates me."

"I have given you an edge. Hatred brings people to ignore you and that gives you freedom of movement. And that is the greatest tool – ignorance. No one pays a serious attention to what you do unless directly linked to your hatred. "

"Oh gee thank you." Bill said and sat down. "Yes, I got it for you. My troops will bring it in."

"Good,"

"What do you need that thing for anyway?"

"That thing is a key, an important one."

"A key to what?"

"They did brief on everything yes?"

"Yeah,"

"You happen to remember something called 'Clava Thessara Infinitas'? "

"Vaguely,"

"That is the something they looked for when Adria of ORI was around and they believe that they have found it but they haven't, not really. "

"The San Graal? The holy grail that is not it?"

"Not even close."

"Why me?"

"For one very simple reason, you were not part of those with the knowledge of the Stargate program. Also you ask straight up questions, the kind of questions that are found to be inconvenient as you pursue truth. You are not afraid to step on toes when necessary. You are not afraid to muddy the waters."

"But people were not paying attention to me."

"No, they were not taking you seriously until I gave you an edge."

"It did not change much."

"On the contrary, it changed everything. Hatred is a powerful tool and when directed properly produces unbelievable results. You have now access to everything as people are giving it to you just to prove you wrong."

"And then I bow out humiliated."

"That is part of the strategy. Anyone capable of seeing a pattern would have investigated you but having that edge in your hands prevented all that. And that is because no one wants to be associated with the likes of you, simple but beautiful plan."

"And they say you have no sense of politics."

"Well, just because I don't like them doesn't mean I do not know how to use them."

"I take it they are not aware of your extracurricular activities?"

"No, they are not."

"They won't like it."

"They don't have to know about it unless utterly necessary."

"You do know that they are monitoring everything you do, yes?"

"It is part of the game. But they have a lot to learn before levelling the playfield at my level."

"And that storm that you have created out of nothing?"

"Out of nothing? Were you not paying attention in class, Bill? Nothing is created out of nothing. Tell me, at this time of year; shouldn't there be more storms around the coast?"

Bill looked incredulously at him. He sought the information on the internet. Weirdly enough there were no storms in the Pacific – no hurricanes, and no tornadoes in the Mid West.

"That's impossible!"

Diablo only smiled. "Impossible? Humans, you will never learn. Impossible is just a word in the dictionary. You could say it is highly improbable that would be more accurate. "

"How?"

"Well, let's just say, that the mass of climate obligations for this time of year are focused over Nevada."

"In one giant storm?"

"It is not a storm more like a concentration of particles. They were supposed to be all over the coast and on the ground in the mid states but I wanted them here."

"The suspended lightning bolts...?"

"Yes, different systems of hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, and so on,"

"You are insane. Is this why my people are in hospital right now?"

"Don't worry about them; they will be fine in a few days."

Avatar appeared among the two. Bill was still not used to him.

"I am sorry to interrupt this little chat, gentlemen."

"Yes, Avatar, what is it?"

"You may be pleased to know that Ashlar group 4 has found something interesting on the Dakara ring 8."

"The – what?" Bill asked.

"Systems around the planet Dakara, we call them rings. It confuses whoever might be listening."

"How far out is that?"

"Well, that's not entirely accurate Avatar, now is it?" Diablo interjected. "A ring is a set of star clusters. Let me show you."

The light in the room vanished. It was replaced with a map of stars. "This is Dakara. And this is the first ring." He showed him the expanding ring of stars around it. "Now, the eighth ring would be somewhere here." And the map shifted again.

"Ok, I understand better now."

"I guess Carter will find out soon that the two of you are kin." Diablo said.

"If she digs in the correct folder yes she would."

General Bill Dorchester was not your average Joe. He had completed the West Point Academy with full honours and had 4 degrees in Astrophysics, Quantum Mechanics, Applied Physics, and Space Archaeology.

"So what did they find?" He asked.

Avatar stepped aside and the images appeared. It resembled some kind of building though very, very old, almost ancient. It bore the same symbols as the ones Diablo had him hunting for in old archives and storages filled with Nazi seized artefacts.

"It is the language of the Ancients in case you were wondering." Diablo said. "Their language is the base for Latin."

"WHAT?"

"I guess you weren't much paying attention to Dr. Jackson's explanations."

"Well, he is the laughing stock of the community."

"But he was right – one hundred percent."

"I guess I should review everything again."

"Yes, you should." Avatar said. "For a human, Jackson is somewhat interesting."

"And that is the biggest compliment he could give to your race, Bill. "

"I can dig that for a machine that has been all over the universe." Bill said but quickly corrected himself. "AI."

They continued to observe the building. It was ridiculously well preserved. The tests suggested it was at least a million years old. And the tech inside was still intact, more or less, which was a miracle in itself.

"They do build things to last, don't they?" Avatar commented.

"That's remarkable. " Bill observed. "What is that?" He pointed at something that could best be described as an alcove. But it was not the alcove itself that was interesting. It was something in it. "Looks like a nervous system cluster..."

Diablo did not answer but rather expanded the images so they had a view of the entire chamber. There were alcoves all around the surrounding walls. It appeared that Bill's comment was not without merit. But Diablo did not believe those were nervous system clusters. It was something else entirely.

Diablo studied their positioning in retrospect of their position around where the building was and what at the time the ground layout would have looked like.

"Not nerve clusters, Bill. Those would be engine sparkles. The layout of the terrain has changed over the years. They were much closer to each other back then."

"Candles, you mean? For what, a giant engine?"

"You are both wrong." Avatar said. "Wireless electricity receivers. But there was something between them that is no longer there."

Diablo swirled the image of the chamber. It shifted position. Avatar was not entirely wrong either. It was a very clever design but not that of the Ancients. It was disguised to look that way but it wasn't.

"Well, you are wrong too though not completely." He said. "This design is disguised to look like one of the Ancients but it isn't. But if you would notice the letters all over the building are random. They do not form coherent sentences. Someone wanted to make it look like a child had been playing here while learning how to spell."

Diablo continued his observation. There was something eerily familiar about it. He noticed the pillars that held the building together. They were a combination of organic and non organic tech. That was a sign the Ancients did not build that.

Such substance meant that the pillars can withstand any change of terrain other than complete collapse. But as they were not seeing the pillars from underneath the floor, it was impossible to speculate if that is a wrong assumption or not. It was possible the pillars had reinforced base that could survive even a complete collapse.

The building was cleverly disguised as a grassy hill. Spotting it from the front would be impossible. The only reason the survey team found it was because of a partial failure of one of the pillars that exposed part of the building, and that collapse was visible only from above. It was very cleverly covered.

As he pulled the image away from the grassy hill, it became evident that all the greenness was made to grow in and around the building. Such growth would have taken less than four hundred years if not less time.

He pushed the observation back inside the building. He observed the alcoves and the weird receivers in them. He looked at the walls and noticed little furrows spreading from each alcove like veins. What was weird was the position of the receivers. They were perched in different angles.

He started tracing the imaginary lines between them. It formed a dimensional web of intersecting lines but nothing coherent. He shifted the view again. Perhaps something would fit eventually.

"Ok, that would take time to figure out. " Diablo said after several hours of trying. "Store it and I look into it later."

"Yes, it is getting late. Carter will be back tomorrow." Bill said checking his computer. "And the test will be what? And do you want me to fail?"

"Just be yourself and play fair." Diablo said. "It is a competition after all. It has to look legit so Carter doesn't get any more suspicious than she already is."

"Why would she be suspicious at all?" Avatar asked.

"I think showing unusual interest in a newly appointed general might do the trick." Bill replied.

"He has a point but contact had to be made." Diablo said. "Well, see you tomorrow, general."

Diablo returned to his hangar. There was much information to sift through. Other teams have also made discoveries. He had to go through them and then figure out a way to make it look like the SGC's teams were responsible for their discovery even if indirectly.

Samantha Carter returned to the SGC and relayed Diablo's request. The Brass' reaction was not what she expected. The troops of General Dorchester were redirected to Area 51. It seemed that the Brass wanted to see him humiliated again but on the other hand they wanted him to succeed to cool off a bit Diablo's smug superiority. Hence the reason they agreed to it rather quickly.

Sam spent some time studying the general's fitness file. Everything she had been hearing about him seemed to be on point. He was indeed sexist and racist enough to make everyone hate him. And everyone in the Forces had taken him on a duel just to prove him wrong. While he had suffered humiliating losses, his troops were mostly successful. And that's what she found as strange.

The other strange thing she found was when she dug further back in time. It appears at first he was not that douchebag that he was now. She wondered what made him change. She started tracing as much as she could where the change occurred. Strangely enough, it was exposed less than three years ago. It had completely changed how people perceive him. Hence the reason, the files about him have been redacted and changed.

His family was the other strange part. His wife had divorced him but did not file any charges or asked for all he had, and the man came from a rich background. Her origins were somewhat humble and poor. Whenever such behaviour is exposed, the closest to you people either stick their guns for you all the way or they take advantage it. But she has done neither. It was like she expected it to happen and let it.

In fact, she had completely gone off grid as Sam was unable to find anything about her after the divorce. It was as though she had vanished from the face of the Earth. There was only one airline ticket found in her apartment for flight to Seattle. She checked the flights to it but there was no record of her arriving there at least not under her name. It was possible she changed it or never boarded.

Sam refocused her efforts on the General and his postings after the exposure. He was posted in the worst places for a decorated general. The general stayed there for a time before commencing his degrading comments that forced confrontation, and then he was relocated again. And again, he spent some time in that base before starting all over again.

Sam began to see a pattern: time off and time for confrontation, and relocation. It made her wonder why wait before starting a confrontation.

"What's in these bases?" it was a question she started pondering after exhausting other possibilities. She looked at the manifest for the inventory and found something interesting. All the bases, the general had been posted to, were either archives with century's old information about everything or storages filled with artefacts seized from Nazi Germany.

What kind of information in those places would the general need or for what purpose? He is armed forces general. True the value of things in such places would sell high on the black market but the man was rich. He doesn't need money so what is he after. He could be a collector. Still he has not taken anything out of there as nothing was reported as missing.

"What is your game, General?" Sam pondered aloud. "And what is your link to Diablo?"

She was certain Diablo had some interest in the general, not some; he had a peculiarly high interest. There had to be a reason.

Something caught her eyes. It was the movement of the general's troops. They were somewhat irregular and in different corners of the planet. She checked the flight records and saw that they made stops only in sea ports around the world. Only a part of them stayed in the ports. The rest went in country to various archaeological sites, mostly on guided tours. While the way people choose to spend their vacation time was not strange what was strange that they all enjoyed going.

That in itself was not odd but she found it peculiar as she did not think that so many people could have so identical interests. And all of these people served in the same units, the general's troops. That could not be a coincidence.

She checked the sites visited. Some of them had connections to the Goa'uld, some to the Ancients and others to the Asgard. Now that could not be a coincidence. But the problem was that the general was briefed about the Stargate program only a few days before he became the leader of Area 51. So he couldn't have known about these specific details at the time (unless he did know. Nah, she discarded that thought. The general was perfectly surprised like any other before him).

Still, there was too much coincidence. A thought came to her. What if Diablo hired him to look for something while not telling him anything or how it is related? But that would imply that Diablo had been on Earth for far longer than they originally thought. And it was just a theory for which she had no proof.

Meanwhile in the hangar in Area 51, Avatar disrupted his boss's concentration.

"What?"

"She's figuring it out rather well." He showed Sam's searches.

Diablo took a look. He had to admit that Carter was far more suspicious that he thought and considerably more resourceful than he gave her credit. She was unravelling the general's and his troops' movements with unnerving ease. As she was not touched by the bias that eased the general's freedom, she was able to uncover a lot of his actions.

"That is problematic."Avatar shared. "You have to do something about it."

"What do you suggest - killing her?"

"No, but something, before she uncovers the link between you and the general,"

"I think she has already reached that conclusion. She won't be able to prove it but she knows." Diablo was pensive.

"Unless you want her to know how long indeed you have been on Earth!"

"There are other ways of dealing with that."

"Such as?"

"I will deal with this."

Back to Carter, her thought process took her in new directions about Diablo's true arrival time on Earth. The implications for such a revelation were profound. What has he been doing all this time before making contact with the SGC?

For a man capable of such deception, namely the one he pulled while pretending to be onboard Destiny while he was making his way to Earth. She still had trouble with the way he said he had reached them. But then again, the deception was pulled by everyone onboard the Destiny. But it was all for him. The SGC had noted that shift of loyalty.

She knew that a man with such influence will be a problem to work with. And so far, the SGC had abided to all his little requests without getting anything of real value in return. And then there were the uncanny guesses he made when determining the locations of Ancient bases.

The credit for that went to the SGC teams but she started to wonder if that was actually true. What if he had other means of obtaining information? If he had spent an entire year on Earth before making contact with them then he may have developed his own means. And that changed their relationship.

"On the other hand, Colonel, that makes you rather petty. That is the reason none of your alliances have held. You asked too much of your allies and you haven't done much to earn their trust."

Diablo's voice startled her quite a lot. She noticed him on the opposite side of her desk. She hated when he did that – appear out of nowhere, not to mention the invasion of her personal space.

"Oh, please, you shout your thoughts so loudly, I would have heard you if I were on Dakara."

"Stop that! Stay out of my head."

"I would gladly abide when you manage to control your head noise."

"It is not petty. It is what an alliance is..."

"Colonel, your people have no notion of what an alliance is. It is two or more parties coming together for a common cause where they share what is necessary to achieve a goal. That doesn't include everything you do. That is why you have different countries with different agencies and different laws otherwise it would have a central government for the entire world and one country, one planet.

When you meet with other teams from allied countries do you share everything that you intend to do especially when you have secret orders? Do you, really? Yeah, I did not think so. So, why do you expect your allies to share their secrets with you while you do not share yours? "

"Hiding your intentions is good? Is that what you are saying?"

"I am not hiding my intentions. That is the reason I travelled across the universe. I came to find as much as possible of your precious Ancients so I can gain the necessary knowledge to help you and go home.

I know how pretentious it sounds when I said that the universe never sends me anywhere where my help is not needed. It is not my first rodeo. It is not the first time this has happened and it won't be the last.

But if you are so suspicious of your allies then it is no wonder you have none. You must have faith in people. Both sides sacrifice something to make an alliance work much like two people get together to live an entire live with each other and each of them makes a sacrifice, a compromise be that a dream or desire.

So, why can't you accept that we have a common cause? And have faith."

"I do have it..."

"If that were true then you wouldn't be here doing this little research of yours. You want to know the reason I did not tell you when I truly arrived here or what resources I have?"

"Yes, I do."

"The reason is very simple. While I may trust the word of the SGC or the IOA, I do not trust the word of a politician. And your politicians like any other really have a tendency to shift priorities whenever it suits them, and especially on Election Day."

"That's it?"

"You never suffered because of it? Really? Yeah, I did not think so."

"Well..."

"You are a soldier, Samantha. You may not agree with the changes imposed by a politician but you will obey the orders given by the Brass. That is the way things work. And I did not want to involve that in their decision making. I still don't.

And the reason, I have not told you about my resources, is because I don't want you to take them over. You have gained resources on your own and they are more than enough. But greed is a dangerous tool.

That is also one of the main reason you are at odds with the Lucian Alliance. I am not saying they are the best the galaxy could provide but they do have a point. You have hoarded all the tech and the moment anyone discovers anything you are there to collect it under the pretence that you are best suited to yield it. And that is horseshit.

In the beginning when you started your knowledge of any of this was that of a beginner. Why do you think that the others will not fare as well as you? Is it because you are the US of A and you never screw up? You think the others – what stupid, not capable of doing a job as good as you. Now that is petty. Are you all so full of you that you can't fathom the possibility that someone might do as good a job as you? "

Samantha reluctantly had to agree with him. All their choices when it came to keeping an alliance work have led to disaster. They expected too much of their allies without actually reciprocating. They gave them resources and expected absolute obedience and cooperation.

"Buying and trust are two different things."Diablo said. "Sorry, I couldn't help myself."

"No, you are right. But the Brass is not going to react well when they learn that you have resources of your own and one that you do not share. We have done everything you have asked and received nothing in return."

"Nothing in return?" Diablo looked at her incredulously. "Wow. You are full of yourselves. If I have a developed an ego, you have gotten the job."

"Nothing of real value."

"Real value – and what do you understand under that? Oh, I haven't led you to a stash of super weapons. Yeah, sorry, couldn't find any that bloody old. You are being ridiculous, Colonel. You have gained more knowledge about your Ancients than you have for the entire existence of the Stargate program. "

Samantha had to admit he had a point. His research had opened doors they did not know existed. Their knowledge of the ancient Ancients had expanded drastically. And they would have never thought of scanning planets on which they had already been more extensively to locate other ruins and artefacts, as they believed they have already found everything already.

"That being said, I can't allow you to share your recent discoveries with the Brass." Diablo said.

Samantha looked at him. "And how do you intend to stop me? " And then wished she did not ask that question as it was rather obvious what he could do.

"I won't kill you if that is what you were thinking, Colonel. That would raise too many uncomfortable questions and many complications..."

"But you are considering it?"

"Well, you are a soldier. What do you think you would be doing in my place?"

"The same..."

"Yeah, "Diablo nodded. "But I am not going to kill you because that serves no purpose, not that I would have ever considered killing you. There are other ways to deal with problems."

"You will make me disappear?"

"No,"

"Then what?"

"You will remember everything but you won't be able to share it with anyone unless I desire it so."

"Hypnosis? That won't work. People would notice."

"Hypnosis – that is the best you could come up with? No, it is not hypnosis. It is conditioning. It is a form of compulsion. You will know everything. You would want to share it but when it comes to the sharing part – you will be speaking of something else, or writing in gibberish, or speaking it."

"And that won't raise suspicion?"

"No, not after you had an accident."

"Accident?"

"It has to be believable. Don't worry it is not that bad. It is not something that hasn't happened to you before. Have faith, Colonel. You won't have to hide for long."

Diablo disappeared. Right at that point, Carter started to write it down while it was still fresh in her mind but quickly discovered that it is already too late.

"Damn you!"

Then all lights around her vanished. She wondered what is going on. And then she saw the head of Jack. He looked really worried.

"There she is."

She wondered again what is going on. Why is Jack hovering all around her? And then the light returned. She was not in her office in the SGC. She was in a hospital bed. Looking down she noticed her hand and leg were in plaster.

"Relax, Carter." Jack said to calm her down. "You had an accident."

Accident – that triggered the last thing Diablo told her. It had to be believable. He really did it? She couldn't believe it.

"It is not that bad, Carter."

"What happened?"

"Apparently, when going home, some idiot hit your bike and well the rest is rather obvious." Jack explained. "But the doc says other than that you are in perfect health and you will be back on your feet in no time."

"How long have I been here?"

"Several days,"

Several days, so, Diablo has gotten from General Dorchester whatever it was that he was waiting for. She had reached that conclusion while he was confirming her theory. And now she had no way of telling anyone.

"There is someone here to see you. Get better, Carter." Jack said all beaming and left.

The next person to enter the room was Diablo himself.

"Oh, not you,"

"I came with flowers." He put them in a vase on the table next to her bed.

"Bribe?"

"Very funny, but no. Genuine concern. You scared us a lot."

"The accident? That wasn't you?"

"Strangely enough, no. " Diablo said. "I had something else planned, something that involved you getting hit on the head."

"Oh, thank you for the concern."

"In case, you are wondering for my parting gift, then, yes, it is still there. You still won't be able to share the knowledge you gained. However, I did not come here to gloat."

"Then, why are you here?"

"Let's call it an olive branch. You said that I haven't shared anything of real value. You have also wondered what have I tasked Dorchester to find."

"I have."

"Good, then, I am here to share that with you."

"Which is what?"

"It is something that you sought in the past and you thought that you have found it, courtesy in part of Adria of the ORI."

"The holy grail, we did find it."

"No, that was the result of the search, not the reason."

Sam got to think and remembered that time. Adria had lured them using Vala.

"As it turns out you were wrong about many things and so was Adria."

"What?" Sam thought of it. They were after the…

"I have found it - Clava Thessara Infinitas!"
