Author Notes: This chapter goes down a bit of a darker route, the story has been changed to M-Rated. Anyhow! I hope you enjoy your time reading this chapter; as I spent a good amount of time deliberating on what to do. Also, keep in mind this story never was meant to be light hearted; just haven't gotten to it until now.

Yggdrasil Dungeon Master
- Chapter 4 -
The moon started to rise as the night sky was lit up with beautiful dazzling stars. The moonlight shines down upon the Great Tomb of Nazarick, its light peering through the small cracks yet to be filled up due to Floor 1 still being under construction. However, that traveling light shone upon a figure with pale shiny skin, beautiful but seductive crimson eyes, and long white hair seemingly tied up into a ponytail. Furthermore, her gown was no exception; she wore a soft black evening dress with a heavy skirt leading up to her upper body, embellished ribbons, and a short tailored jacket; even her hand was adorned by cute laced gloves. However, with all that beauty. Finally came a flaw, her chest was a mere cutting board without padding, but nevertheless, she covered that flaw by including an abundance of padding.
"Shalltear Bloodfallen," Momonga said, both confused and also relieved.
'Thank god, it seems that NPCs respawn when their corresponding floor is summoned. However, it doesn't seem that Shalltear is yet active; do I possibly require more floors? We set her to guard the first, second, and third floors in YGGDRASIL. But does that mean I need all three floors summoned and built? If so, that'll be a significant pain in my ass since I don't know how to get more floors and how I will protect Nazarick. First, though, I guess I could summon a few high-tier undead; but that comes at a risk. My summons are time-limited, meaning I'll have to come back and resummon them, not allowing me to stay out for long periods, but I could also use extended magic; that should increase it by a slight bit.'
Momonga debated his options mentally for a couple of seconds. Then decided what he'll do to protect Nazarick.
'I'll summon a few undead using [Summon Undead 10th Tier] since I promised I'd meet back up with Claire near the town center. Once I'm done with her, I'll just head back to Nazarick.'
Momonga stood up from his rocky seat, heading to a flat surface.
"[Summon Undead 10th Tier: Doom Lord]" Suddenly, a magical circle appeared and a demon lord rose up. He wore a rusted crown, and a blood-stained cape waved in the slight breeze coming through the unfinished cracked walls of Nazarick. The demon lord was adorned with a set of full-plate armor and multiple scythe-like curved daggers.
"[Summon Undead 10th Tier: Elemental Skull]" With another sudden magical circle appearing, a skull arose. The skull was surrounded by an enchanting aura that seemed to change between blue, red, green, and yellow.
Momonga looked at the two and put his hand up to his chin.
'These should be enough for now. The doom lord is level 70 though its stats are far beyond that. And the elemental skull is level 68; with its control of the four elements and assistance from the doom lord, they'll put up a heck of a fight.'
However, even after all that preparation, Momonga is still worried.
'Though, that does make my mind wonder; what if a player passes through these parts? Would the doom lord and elemental skull be enough? Hmm...'
Momonga thought long and hard but eventually couldn't think of anything else to put.
'Ugh! This would be much easier if Shalltear was active from the moment the floor was under construction.'
Momonga is angered by this new world's mechanics and frustrated at having no other option.
'I'll have to stay until this floor is complete so that minions start to spawn.'
Momonga walked back to his rocky seat, patting it down slightly to get some dust off.
'Hello, my rock. I'm back for a bit more.'
Momonga then sat down on the rock and waited until the floor was finished. He also let out a soft but quick sigh.
'Why couldn't this just be a normal summon, and everything completed off the back! What the heck world!'
The night sky glittered with hundreds of stars. A gigantic silver moon loomed over the city at its very peak. A young woman sat upon the edge of a foundation staring down into the water as it reflected her face.
'Hmhm... Where is Momonga? He did say he'd meet me back at the town center, but it's been multiple hours; what's taking him so long?'
Claire leaned back a tiny bit but not far enough that she would fall into the water behind her.
'Should I go to the Demon's Wolf's Garden and find him? Ugh, no, that's stupid; I'm not even strong enough to survive such a place; plus, Momonga is strong enough to kill a wyvern if he pleases.'
Claire thought back to the goblin attack and how Momonga intervened, saving her life.
'The level of magic that he showed in that forest was... well, extraordinary. I've never seen anything like it before.'
Claire looked back to the sky, thinking about what she should do next.
'Oh, screw it! I'll just find a nearby inn and stay there for the night. He probably got lost or found something better to do than meet me here.'
She stood back up and looked around; after a short second, she spotted a nearby inn.
'Hmm... that Inn looks nice, "The Fairy Moons Inn" I actually like the ring of that." Claire said as she thought out loud.
She then began walking to the inn, but as she did, a sudden loud screech came from a nearby alley.
'huh?'
Then a screech so loud that it couldn't be mistaken. It was a cry for help from what sounds to be a little girl. In seconds Claire was on the move heading toward the scream, with little to no hesitation rushing into the alleyway. What she saw next was a sight that could not be unseen.
A large carriage with heavy metal bars could be seen. Inside that carriage were three little girls and two adult women, all of them seemed to be of the demi-human race. Thirty men stood beside the carriage, picking the adult females with sharp swords, teasing them with hot objects as if they were mere toys. However, it didn't take them long to notice Claire as she stood out like a child that had lost her way.
"B-back away from the carriage!" Claire screamed out as she pulled a dagger from her left hip. She then brought it in front of her, but it didn't take long to notice that her hands were shaking; she was scared for both her and the slave's lives.
'What should I do? Should I run?'
But then, ten men standing near the carriage started to move forward toward her. Though the others merely watched what was about to unfold.
"What's wrong, pretty? Lost your way?" one of the men said, his face painted with all sorts of symbols indicating he was from the slave trade.
"Don't take another step forward. I'll cut your head off in a single strike." Claire threatened the men, though her words flew right over their heads.
"Cut off my head?!" the men said as everyone behind him laughed. He then ordered them to surround her, which they took no time to do.
"Tell you what! If you put down the dagger and let us have a bit of fun, we'll let you walk out of here." the man said, looking Claire up and down, but then he noticed one key feature, her ears.
"OH!? HEY BOYS, LOOK, WE HAVE AN ELF!" the man said, to which the rest of them responded with evil laughter, some smiling.
Claire looked around, knowing she couldn't escape due to the men surrounding her. However, she didn't want to run as she had higher priorities.
'Is there any way I can get to that carriage and set them free?'
She looked up at the buildings to see if any rope was hanging down or if there were any boxes she could jump on. However, her luck ran out as there was nothing she could use to quickly get past these men.
'Ugh, I'll have to break through them somehow.'
Just as Claire was preparing herself thoroughly for the onslaught, they pounced.
"Fireball" A ball of flame formed in front of Claire's outstretched arm, but suddenly it distinguished.
"Huh?" Claire said as her eyes moved toward the man with the symbols drawn on him. Then suddenly, Claire gets hit on her back by a large wooden club, which makes her recoil in pain. However, taking quick action and her previous experience fighting Donadrond, she struck back with her dagger. The rugged man that hit her quickly lost his entire hand. Blood spewed from his arm, splattering on the ground and the nearby walls. His scream echoed through the alleyway, and then he collapsed, bleeding until his very last moments when Claire finished him off by crushing his head with her boots.
"Who's next?" Claire said, confident that she could take them all.
'I don't think I'll be able to take them all, but my best chance is to scare some of them or stall until guards arrive; all this noise must be attracting some kind of attention.'
"So, you think just because you took one guy out, you'll be able to stop us all?" the man with symbols drawn on him said. But then he snapped his fingers, and out of the blue, an all-out attack occurred.
'Oh, shi-'
Every man struck Claire. It was impossible to defend herself from everything. Finally, a gash appeared on her back, a dagger cut her cheek cleanly, and a large club broke her left leg. It didn't take much time until she collapsed onto the ground, helpless and at their mercy.
"Stop, men! We don't want to hurt the new merchandise anymore than we have; we'll use a healing potion or two on her once we get her back to base." The man said
"M-merchandise?" Claire said, her eyes giving a look of shock.
The man kneeled down and looked straight at her.
"Yes, merchandise. An elf goes for a high price from time to time. And with your looks..." The man said, taking his dagger and lifting up her skirt as he admired her body.
"With a body like this and the fact that you're an elf. You'll be bought for a fortune!" The man said, an evil smile crossing his face. Claire reacted by trying to crawl away, but it was useless, as she started to fade out of consciousness when a sleeping spell was cast upon her.
"M-Momonga... he-help..." Claire said out loud, the man laughing.
"This useless Momonga person you call out to won't help you now." The man said.
Claire was loaded into the bared carriage, and she went out of consciousness after a few seconds passed.
A blue light shines throughout the Great Tomb of Nazarick's first floor as it is completed. Momonga then looked up and around, eventually spotting Shalltear Bloodfallen still inactive.
'Damnit! I was hoping she'd activate it once floor 1 was finished, but it seems not. So I'll have to find a way to gain more floors, but it might be quite easy; I got the title from killing a dungeon after all, so maybe I need to go dungeon hunting?'
However, during that moment, Momonga felt a terrible feeling overcome him.
'Huh? I feel like something has happened, but I'm not sure? Could it possibly be Claire? But, no, she's in the city; maybe I'm not thinking about something with Nazarick?'
Momonga took a second to think and looked around for a bit longer. Eventually, he spotted minions spawning, which was a great relief.
'Well, it must've been nothing, but since minions are spawning now, and I also have a doom lord and an elemental skull protecting the area. So, I might as well meet Claire back in the city, though I wonder if she's still waiting for me. But, there's only one way to find out, head there myself!" Momonga said as he walked out of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, hoping deep in his mind that it stood protected.
'Let's see, which direction was the city again? Oh yeah! Now I remember.'
Momonga started heading toward Alessa, the moon's light shining upon his robes.
'Wonder how she's doing?'
"This useless Momonga person you call out to won't help you now." The man said.
Will this come back to haunt him? We will see in the next chapter of Yggdrasil Dungeon Master!
After Notes: Kinda funny the darker chapter of the three made me more interested in my own story. Though, I have no idea the reactions that you guys will have, so leave a review so I can know. Hopefully you liked it and will stay on for the ride as Momonga, explores the world and rebuilds the Great Tomb of Nazarick!
