I take a deep breathe opening the window. The cool breeze plays with my hair as I think. Looking past the ice fence, there is nothing but snow upon a mountain. Does she want me to go there? I glance back down at the snowman before flying out. As I go over the land, I can feel the sensation of being watched the whole time.
I land on the edge of the mountain. I should be cold but I'm quite content. In fact, I like it here. There's nothing but love here. Nature doing what it does best. Snow a cold blanket across the land, glistening in the sunlight. A small white fox hops out of a small bush, it stares at me twitching its nose. The Evergreen swaying a bit in the wind. I wonder how all this could be up here. I remember it just being bland mountains before. Has nature already evolved from the sudden changes? Taking in a deep breathe is cold and crisp. Feels like my immune system is being cleansed.
I walk along the snow opening between the trees. The fox slowly follows me. Steady breathes as my eyes flutter shut. My body relaxes as I listen to the crunching of the snow beneath my feet. It's mainly all just silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
Pip!
I open my eyes as I nearly run into a smooth wall. Flying up to look down at it, it seems to be a cottage? The fox does another little pip noise at me, then runs along the side of the wall. I glide my way down to meet the fox at a small door. In fact, the door is only the size of the fox. Getting the urge to go inside, I go onto my hand and knees. This time I follow the fox. There is a long crawling corridor. The only thing I see is the puff of my breathe and the cool icy walls. The floor is also made of ice. Smooth but I do not slip on it at all. We near an opening and the fox glances back to see if I'm still there. It does a little pip noise and runs through.
"Ah! Wait for me!" I scream after it. Do not leave me alone! I was getting used to its presence. As I stand up past the opening, my eyes shine brightly. The inside is so much bigger than the outside. A tree pure white stands in the middle with icicle leaves. The whole area is a nice cool blue from the sun shining through the roof. The ground is a fluffy snow with the fox's small footprints. I lean down to poke a tiny flower beside me. Smooth ice.
Pip! I look up to see the fox peering behind the tree. Pip! I get up and follow. What is this place? The angel wanted me to come here? Striding behind the tree sits a small podium. It holds an ice book that's frozen in place. Opened to a random page of spotless ice. I can see my reflection in it, how strange I look. Who is this person anymore? One day I was flying across the sky with my sisters fighting monsters, now I'm walking across a snow plain on my own wielding a magic staff. How did it come to this?
The ice ripples like water. I see Buttercup in the sparing room, fighting moving dummies. Bubbles appears to be in the sewing room, sewing away on probably her 20th stuffed animal. Professor appears in a lab, talking to Ms. Keane about his latest invention. Can't hear anything their saying. A snowman is shown on the side of a mountain, slowly moving up. Is it coming after me? The white fox sits beside me, staring up at me. I flinch when it shows me. How strange to look at oneself like this. It ripples some more to show a new scene.
It's snowing, the sky is a light gray. The Ice Angel sits upon a cloud, admiring the world from above. She sighs and mouths words I do not hear. Suddenly, a plant stem grows past her carrying another Angel. She giggles as she hops onto the cloud. The stem Angel sits close to the Ice Angel, their shoulders touching; their breathe going upon each other's cheeks. The stem Angel smiles at her and says a few words. Ice Angel laughs and gently nudges her. Stem Angel plays with her hair while the Ice Angel talks. Seems like they're good friends. The ice ripples to make the image disappear.
"She is no longer here." I hear the Ice Angel whisper in my ear. Her sadness dug deep into each word. "She is the Plant Angel. She controls and lives with the plants of this world. Daughter to the Earth Angel."
I stare at the book. Wondering how much it must have hurt to lose a best friend. The evil that I must face, were they the ones who took her away? The air here feels even colder than before. I hear the whimpers of the fox. Turning around I notice that she isn't even here. I watch as the icicles sway a bit from a light breeze that has entered. What was the point of showing me that though? She showed me my family and then a past event of hers. Perhaps I must keep fighting for my loved ones, or they too will disappear.
