The sun shines over a field of wheat at a Texan county.
WEST TEXAS
At a farm, 2 kids named Alicia and Ramon were out heading to a chicken coop.
Ramon opens a hatch as chickens clucked and he started collecting some eggs, and Alicia tossed some feed to the chickens.
"Here you go." Alicia said.
Ramon closed the hatched as then an animal chittering was heard close by as he looked, and saw crawling on the fence was what looked like a large locust. Also on the fence was a strange orange lizard-like creature and it flapped a pair of wings. Ramon stared at the insect as it chitters as Alicia soon noticed it. And went over to her brother, and then the locust flies off as it's wings flickered as well as the lizard-like creature.
Then more chittering was heard as more locusts appeared that were hiding the field, and then dozens more followed as then part of the field started catching fire strangely as smoke billows. And the lizard-like creature wasn't alone as a whole swarm flew out of the field.
Ramon and Alicia watched as they were getting nervous, and then he drops the bucket of eggs and turns and runs as well as Alicia as they screamed as hundreds of locusts and lizard-like creatures followed. The 2 swarms grew in size as the entire wheat field catches fire, and Alicia and Ramon rushed to a barn and closed the doors and locked them as they panted rapidly forced to wait out the locust and firestorm.
Then thudding was heard against the walls from the locusts and reptiles as the 2 kids moved away from the doors as Alicia grabs a shovel as they screamed. And then a locust shot through a board of the wall as they screamed more and the locust flickered as it was stuck on it's back trying to right itself up, and then 3 of the strange reptiles flew through the hole left the locust as the board caught fire. And one of them shrieked as they landed and the 2 kids rushed aside as Alicia screamed and then Ramon rushed to the locust with a bucket and slams it over the insect as then several objects were then knocked aside from the reptiles as then another bucket lands on top of the 3 creatures, and the bucket jostled as they try to get free, as Ramon held the bucket down trapping the locust and Alicia screamed.
Several hours later, a blue truck pulls up to the farm as a few small patches of fire were still burning as trails of smoke billowed.
The truck pulls near as a woman waited as stepping out the truck was a mid-aged woman with blonde hair and waves out to the farmer.
"Thanks for coming." She said. "Wasn't sure who to call. Fish and Wildlife didn't even want to see it if it wasn't a dinosaur."
"Yeah, well, they get all the attention." The woman said as 2 of students came out with their things and she turns to them. "You guys want to vary the sampling plots a hundred yards each?"
"These your students?" The farmer asked.
"Yeah." The woman replied. "We've been looking into the impact of industrial farming on the environment, so this is right up our alley."
"They hit 60 fields in the county." The farmer explained. "Have you seen anything like this before?"
"No. Not like this." The woman said. "They've been leaving degraded fields all across the Midwest. First, these big companies try to kill off all the insects. Now this." She climbed up the side of a tractor. "And strange sightings of flying creatures keep turning up as well."
She looked out and removes her sunglasses and revealed to be Dr. Ellie Sattler, and saw what was left of the wheat field as several patches of smoke billowed lightly and saw a spot of green on the other side of the burnt field.
"Is that your land?" Ellie asked.
"That's the Bennetts' corn." The farmer said. "The locusts didn't eat that."
"You plant the same seed as the Bennetts?" Ellie asked.
"No." The farmer answered. "We are independent. They use Biosyn seed."
Ellie turns back to the burnt field. "Yeah, I bet they do. You say you caught a live one? As well as one of those other creatures they saw?"
Further west, a car drives through a dirt road in a rocky landscape as a bird call fills the air.
UTAH
In a cavern, a man enters the chamber as a team of paleontologist were digging and indistinct chatter fills the cavern.
"Okay. Let her down slowly." A man said as a crate was being lowered.
"Got it?" A man from the rim of the opening above asked.
"Yeah." The first man said. "Easy."
A woman busy on a notebook hands it to the man as he turns revealing to be Dr. Alan Grant as he looks around.
Close by, a paleontologist uncovers part of a fossil with a brush.
"Why do we dig?" Alan inquired. "'Cause paleontology is science, and science is about the truth, and there is truth in these rocks."
"Grant!" A man called to him from the cavern's rim above.
Alan turns to him.
"You're gonna want to see this." The man said.
Alan heads along a wooden platform as indistinct chatter fills the campsite and a bird screeches in the distance.
He soon nears his tent and got to it as Ellie then turns to him.
"Ellie Sattler." Alan said.
"Alan Grant." Ellie said smiling. "You look the same."
"Oh." Alan looked at himself.
Ellie chuckled. "And this place - it's so... so, uh, you." She looked around his tent.
Alan stepped into the tent. "I'm sorry, I... If I'd known you were coming, I would've..." He placed a few things away. "Uh..." He moved over to a cabinet with a old photo of them back in the early 90's. "Can I get you something? A beer or..."
"Um, well, maybe not at 10:00 a.m." Ellie said and laughed a bit. "But iced tea or..."
"Tea. Yeah." Alan said. "Tea. I can do that."
Soon, Alan pours a glass of iced tea as Ellie looked at a fossil.
"Saw a lot of tourists on the way in." Ellie said.
"Well, the funding's dried up, so... somebody's got to pay for all this." Alan said and hands her the glass.
"Right. Thank you." Ellie said grabbing it.
"I read your articles about soil science and regenerative farming." Alan said. "It was great."
"Thanks." Ellie said.
"Gave me grounds for some hope, for a change." Alan said. "How are your kids?"
"Mm. Amazing. Grown." Ellie said. "It's shocking. They're both in college. Can you believe that?"
"And Mark?" Alan asked.
Ellie was momentarily silent. "It's over." She said.
"Oh." Alan said a little shocked. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that."
"It's okay." Ellie said. "I'm back to me. My work. You know, it's..."
"That's great." Alan said.
"It's good." Ellie said. "It is. I'm alone at last."
"Exciting times." Alan said.
"Yeah, I'm living the Alan Grant life." Ellie said. "It's just..."
"Can be lonely." Alan said.
"...so free." Ellie finished turning to him.
Alan lightly smiled. "Ellie..." He sighed. "You didn't come out all this way just to catch up, now, did you?"
Before long, Alan looks at the captured locust, kept in a cage, and another small pet container holding the 3 reptiles, as they were actually Fireworm dragons as wandered around all calmly.
"Well, it's a locust." Alan said observing. "Mandibles, wings, thorax, but... God, the size of it is massive." He then touches the locust's spiked leg as it lightly jolted as the cage clinked and it's wings fluttered. He then turns to the 3 small dragons. "And these are like no reptile I've ever seen. Almost hot to the touch."
One Fireworm stares at him and cocks it's head curiously at him and lightly shrieked holding it's wings out.
"It has genes that have been extinct since the Cretaceous, and swarms of them are decimating crops from Iowa to Texas." Ellie said about the locust and turns to the Fireworms. "And there's nothing like them even in the fossil record. Yet there's been sightings of creatures similar to them turning up everywhere worldwide from Alaska to Australia. Even motion-sensing cameras are still catching glimpses of them. One sighting claims a black one seen at night flying as fast as a plane but couldn't see it, all the witness say that was there was a high whistling sound. Terrifying, right?" She then turns back to the locust. "Started as a few hundred. There could be millions by the end of the summer. If they keep going, there will be no grain to feed chickens, cattle. The entire food chain would collapse."
"Well, it's clearly designed, but why would anyone do that?" Alan wondered.
"None of the crops they're eating are Biosyn seed." Ellie said.
"Biosyn." Alan said. "You're saying Biosyn made this?"
"I mean, it would not shock me that they want to control the world's food supply." Ellie said.
"Not before a few million starve." Alan noted.
"Yeah, what is that saying?" Ellie inquired. "Uh, we're 3 meals away from anarchy? If we don't stop them, you can pick your last 3 meals."
Alan turns to her. "So why are you bringing it to me?" He asked.
"I need concrete evidence Biosyn's responsible for all this." Ellie explained. "I need to go to their sanctuary and get DNA from another locust there. But I need a witness."
Alan remained silent realizing the witness in question.
"Alan." Ellie said. "You command respect. People believe you."
"Ellie." Alan lightly laughed. "You know why I'm here? It's quiet. I'm done with all that."
"Are you? Okay." Ellie said and scoffed. "Well, I'm sorry, Alan. Nobody gets that luxury anymore. Not even you. And you know what? You're the one I trust."
The locust chittered and one of the Fireworms shrieked as Alan chuckled and got up.
"This Biosyn sanctuary is what, a hundred miles from anywhere?" Alan said. "How do you even get in there?"
"I got an invite." Ellie explained grabbing a book. "From their in-house philosopher."
She placed the book down showing their old friend, Dr. Ian Malcom as it was titled, "How The World Will End".
"Seems there's a lot of money in being a chaotician these days." Ellie said.
"And he just happened to invite you out of the blue, huh?" Alan inquired grabbing the book.
"He said there were things I'd want to see." Ellie said.
"Uh-huh." Alan replied skeptically.
Ellie grabs her things and heads off and turns to him. "You coming or what?" She asked.
Alan then turns to her.
An airfield was all busy as a truck pulls away from an Ilyushin IL-76 as a large container as being loaded.
U.S. WILDLIFE RELOCATION FACILITY
Pennsylvania
The truck drives off as indistinct shouting fills the air as several were keeping watch out the shipping container.
Inside, the cage was being loaded as inside was Rexy as she was sedated and being transported elsewhere as indistinct chatter fills the plane.
Elsewhere at the facility, a Stegosaurus lightly bellowed as it was in a holding pen.
"Every animal captured on the mainland comes through here before shipping out to Biosyn's sanctuary in the Dolomites." A woman named Shira said to Alan and Ellie.
2 members tend another Stegosaurus in a pen for a mouth checkup.
"We give them medical attention and make sure they leave healthy." Shira said.
"So much security." Ellie said.
"Those are just the ones you see." Shira said. "A lot of shady types out there want these guys."
They walked as Ellie then saw a juvenile Nasutoceratops in a holding pen and gasped.
"Your plane's fueling up." Shira said as Ellie went over to the baby dinosaur. "Biosyn's a tough invite. You guys must know somebody."
"Do you mind if I...?" Ellie asked.
"Of course." Shira said.
Ellie then placed her hands on the side of the baby's face.
"Hello." Ellie greeted. "You see me?" She held her index finger out. "Follow me."
She then moves her finger as the Nasutoceratops followed her movement.
"We rescued these guys from an illegal breeding farm in Nevada a few weeks ago." Shira explained. "Shut the whole place down. Anonymous tip."
Ellie chuckled. "Good girl." She then ruffled the juvenile's snout. "Yes. Yes."
Alan smiled as he watched as Ellie laughed.
"Alan." Ellie said. "You never get used to it."
Soon, their plane was fueled up as they head to an Avro RJ.
"Take care." Shira said.
"Thank you." Ellie said.
"Bye." Shira said.
"Okay." Alan said.
Close by, 6 shipping containers were being loaded ready for flight. And inside one of them, a set of cat-like eyes watches them as the creature crooned.
Soon, the Avro RJ speeds across the runway and takes off.
Back in Nevada, Jun, D'Angelo and Alex were hanging at the motel as Olivia away getting a few more things before they head home.
But Jun noticed that Tom doesn't seem to be anywhere.
"Has anyone seen Tom?" Jun asked.
"Last time I saw him he said he went for a walk." D'Angelo said.
"Ugh. Didn't we tell him that lone wolf attitude is gonna get him in serious trouble 1 day?" Jun said in disbelief.
"He said he was gonna be right back." Alex said.
"And when was that exactly?" Jun questioned.
"Oh. Uh, 20 minutes ago." Alex said.
Olivia then entered the room.
"I just off with a weird call from Baker, Sledkin's strangely not accounted in ICARIS today." Olivia said.
"She's not." D'Angelo frowned.
"No." Olivia said. "Philip say that Linda said she was away for something."
"That does seem weird." Alex said.
"Where's Tom?" Olivia asked seeing her son wasn't here.
"He went for a walk." Alex said.
"That boy, sometimes." Olivia said shaking her head. "He's 14, and it's like I can't my eyes off him for 1 minute."
Further away in the forest, Tom was out walking along a trail trying to think of the best way to explain his decision to D'Angelo and Alex. As well as how to explain about the dragons to his mother.
"Okay, Tom. Just keep it together." Tom said to himself. "All you gotta do, is tell them about the decision you made, and explain why the dragons were kept a secret to begin with Mom. Simple. Of course, easier said than done." He then sighed.
He then brought out Jun's photo which he hasn't given back yet and looks at it.
"I just hope I'm right that it's time, Jun." Tom said. "For ours' and theirs' sake."
Just then a branch snapping was heard nearby as Tom looked around.
"Uh, hello?" Tom said.
Hidden in the trees soft growling was heard Tom looked around, and then he felt something was behind him. Tom then slowly turned as then emerging from the trees a black shape came out as Tom gasped, and saw it was a dragon that looked exactly Thunder, but completely all black and green cat-like eyes. The dragon growled as it stares at him.
But Tom as no idea that this was a legendary dragon that somehow against the impossible odds has managed to fight back from extinction.
The Night Fury.
"Uh-Uh..." Tom stuttered nervously backing away from the dragon.
The Night Fury growled as it held it's wings out.
"Um, hi." Tom nervously said to it.
He then noticed how similar it looked compared to Thunder.
"You look... almost like Thunder." Tom said. "But you're all black."
The Night Fury growled as it nears him, and then sniffs him as it crooned in a strange tone as if it sniffed something familiar with him.
A small chirp was then heard as Tom noticed a small black head poking behind a tree as the Night Fury stood in front of it in a protective stance. And the creature went up to it as it was a cub, and Tom realized this was a mother protecting her offspring.
"Okay, okay, I didn't mean to cause trouble." Tom said. "I'll just leave now."
Then a screech was heard as Tom looked and saw Blue appearing as she hissed at them. The Night Fury roared at the Raptor as Tom moved out of the way, Blue screeched at the dragon. They both snarled at each other and soon, Blue backs down as the Night Fury nudges her cub and heads off.
Tom turns to Blue as she turns to him as she growled.
"Uh... let's not get hasty." Tom said nervously stepping back. "Okay, Blue."
Blue stared at him, and then approached him as Tom shut his eyes bracing her attack. Blue nears Tom as she sniffs him, she then steps back as Tom peaked an eye open and then Blue heads off as Tom watches her leave.
"What that was about?" Tom wondered.
Meanwhile, not far away, Maisie wanders out of the cabin and went over to a fire pit.
A bird squawks in the distance as she fiddles a stick in the pit, and then emerging from the tree line was Blue's daughter that has wandered from the den site. The little Raptor tilted her head staring at Maisie and approaches her.
She then squawked as Maisie gasped turning to her. The little Raptor chittered and squawked as Maisie stood up and went up to her as the small Raptor squawked and chittered as Maisie nears her as she squawked.
"Hey." Maisie said softly.
The young Velociraptor lightly squawked as she stares at Maisie curiously.
"You look just like Blue." Maisie said. "Is she your mother?"
The little Raptor stares at her and looks to be eyeing something as she chirped as Maisie glanced at her piece of toast.
"This?" Maisie inquired. "You want to try it? Okay."
The Raptor stared as Maisie slowly reaches her toast out breathing tremblingly. And then the Raptor squealed quickly snatched the toast as Maisie gasped and the juvenile chomps on the toast and swallowed as birds squawked nearby.
"Huh." Maisie stared.
Then the young Raptor rushed off as Blue just appeared and screeches as her daughter got behind her.
"Maisie, don't move." Owen warned.
Owen appeared and held his hand out as Blue screeched.
"Hey, girl." Owen greeted as Blue lightly screeched. "Staying out of trouble?"
"She had a baby." Maisie said. "That's impossible."
Blue then shrieks loudly at her as Maisie lightly jumped.
"Back up." Owen said.
"She won't hurt us, right?" Maisie asked.
"Oh, you're damn right she will." Owen said. "Just breathe. If you don't she'll think you're scared."
"I am scared." Maisie said.
Blue lightly screeched.
"Nah. She doesn't need to know that." Owen said.
He then lightly shook his head, and Blue screeched and squawked as she heads off chittering as her daughter soon followed.
"Her nest has got to be nearby." Owen said. "Maisie, get inside."
"I'm coming with you." Maisie insisted.
"What did I just say?" Owen said turning to her.
Maisie then heads back to the cabin, and Owen turns to the tree line.
Nearby, the hunter watches Owen as he heads off through binoculars, and reaches for his walkie-talkie.
"We got to move." He said.
"Not yet." A woman said. "We need the girl."
Maisie entered the cabin all annoyed as Claire turns to her.
"Hey, what's up?" Claire asked.
Maisie entered her room and then closed the door hard as a few tools slid off a shelf.
"Oh." Claire said.
She heads over to the door and opened it, and then saw a door opened leading outside.
"Maisie?" Claire said. "Maisie."
She looked out the window and saw Maisie heading off with her bike.
"Mm-mm." Claire shook her head. "Mm-mm."
She heads to the doorway.
"Where are you going?" Claire demanded.
"You can't keep me here." Maisie said having enough. "You're not my mother."
She walks off as Claire stood there looking hurt.
From his ledge, the hunter watches seeing Maisie leaving.
"She's leaving the house." He said through his walkie-talkie. "Go for the boy too."
Not far away, Olivia, Jun, D'Angelo and Alex were looking for Tom.
"Man, I didn't think Tom got this far." D'Angelo said.
"Me neither." Alex said.
"He has to be here somewhere." Jun said.
They continued looking as Olivia noticed something on the snow, she kneels down and grabs it as it looked like a black scale.
"Huh. Interesting." Olivia said.
"What?" Jun asked.
"I'm not sure." Olivia said.
She then reaches in her pocket bringing out a vial and placed the scale in it.
"Come on, Tom should be close by." Olivia said.
She heads off as they followed her.
"You saw that too, right?" Jun softly asked.
"Obviously." D'Angelo whispered.
"It almost looked like one of Thunder's scales." Alex said.
"But that's impossible." D'Angelo said. "No way Thunder would follow us here."
"And Eugene said all dragons were accounted for back home, Thunder included." Jun said. "We better find Tom now."
Nearby, Blue's daughter went over to her mother as she squawked and Blue drops a dead Red Fox by her.
The young Raptor chittered as she drags the fox bit pulling it, she was then about to eat when then suddenly a net trap sprung up catching her. And she was hoisted into the air shrieking.
Blue squawks in distress as the net was too high for her to jump, and she hasn't noticed the hunter's truck appearing as it speeds towards her. And then the truck rams her as Blue shrieked as she fell over a ledge.
Close by, Owen still searching for the den heard distant shrieking and looked as men shouted indistinctly as a team of hunters were grabbing the net with the young Raptor.
Owen quickly rushed over.
"Tie it down!" A hunter yelled.
"Come on, let's go." The lead hunter said.
Blue desperately tries to climb up the slope of the ledge trying to save her daughter.
Owen ran towards the truck as the hunters indistinctly chattered and grunted held the net-covered juvenile down and the truck takes off. Owen hurries as the truck begins to speed off as one of the hunters grunted as the truck turns.
"Let's get out of here!" A hunter said.
Owen soon arrived as the lead hunter leads out holding a shotgun as they stare at each other, and then the hunter fires at him as Owen ducks hitting the ground. And the hunter fires again as the young Raptor shrieked helplessly.
Not too far away, Tom trying to find his way back heard the gunshots and felt something wasn't right.
"Maybe I should get back." Tom said.
He begins to retrace his steps and tries to think of the best way to explain to his mother and friends for being gone for so long. But then crooning and squealing was heard close by as Tom looked around and nears a tree. He pulls a branch aside saw the mother Night Fury and her cub, the little dragon squeals as his mother drops a trout on the snow as the young dragon feeds.
"Wow." Tom softly said.
He then silently brought his phone and manages to take a picture of them wanting to show Thunder when they return to ICARIS.
But then strangely an engine revving was heard as Tom looked around, and then it grew louder as the mother Night Fury was alerted and looks around. And then the truck speeds pass the trees at full speed as the Night Fury turn to it roaring as it rams against her as she was thrown back and hits the side of a boulder hard.
The young Night Fury tried to flee, but a hunter quickly fires a net gun at him as the cub struggles in the net as 2 hunters quickly grabbed it. Tom watched in horror as he then heard shrieking from the baby Raptor, but then suddenly a hunter grabs Tom from behind as he struggled.
"I got the boy!" The hunter yelled.
"Let me go!" Tom yelled.
"Let's get out of here!" The lead hunter yelled.
Nearby, Olivia was still looking for Tom as Jun, D'Angelo and Alex were elsewhere after deciding to split.
She did however heard what sound like a scuffle close by, and pass by a tree as then suddenly the hunter's truck was speeding towards her as he quickly got out of the way. Olivia turns to the truck as then she suddenly Tom inside.
"Tom?" Olivia stared horrified.
"Mom!" Tom yelled out muffled.
"Tom!" Olivia yelled quickly rushing after them.
The truck speeds off as Olivia quickly sprints through the trees trying to cut them off, but then suddenly ran into someone as they both hit the ground. Olivia soon recovered and then saw who she ran into.
"Sorry, I didn't see you- Owen?" Olivia frowned.
Owen soon recovered and saw her. "Olivia? What are you doing here?"
"Have you seen a red truck go by? Some hunters took my son!" Olivia cried.
"Come on!" Owen quickly said.
They quickly rushed off.
Unaware of Tom being kidnapped, Jun, D'Angelo and Alex were still looking for him.
"Maybe we should double-back and meet up with Mrs. Kullersen." Jun said.
"This place is almost maze-like." Alex said.
"Hey, look." D'Angelo said seeing something.
Jun and Alex turned and saw a cabin.
"Maybe they can help us." D'Angelo said.
"That is if they're friendly." Alex said.
"Come on." Jun said.
They soon made their way to the cabin.
Within a few minutes, they got the cabin as Jun knocked on the door. The door then opened as Claire saw them.
"Can I help you?" Claire asked.
"Sorry to bother you, ma'am." Jun said. "We're looking for our friend, Tom Kullersen. Has he pass by here?"
"No, no one has pass by here." Claire said.
Meanwhile, Maisie pedals across the bridge but saw a woman and a parked car in front of her near the other end of the bridge.
Maisie slowed to a stop as the hunter's truck appeared and a man stepped out of the car.
"Who are you?" Maisie asked.
She then looked back to the truck as chittering was heard from the young Raptor and Maisie turns back to the woman realizing something was wrong.
Nearby, Owen and Olivia quickly rushed to a hill hoping to cut off the hunters. But they saw on the bridge as the lead hunter grabbing Maisie's bike and grunts as he tossed it over the side as the bike fell into the river. He then heads to the truck.
Owen knew what had happened as he rushed off as Olivia followed him.
At the cabin, Claire was shucking some corn while Jun was trying to call Tom's phone.
"Claire!" Owen yelled.
Claire turns to the doorway as Owen and Olivia rushed inside.
"Mrs. Kullersen?" Jun said. "What's going on?"
"They found her." Owen said.
"What?" Claire said panicking. "Who are they?"
"Poachers." Owen said looking through the shelf. "I've seen 'em around." He then unlocks a safe. "Leader's a real shit heel. He must have recognized me, followed me here." He grabs his rifle out.
"Where is she?" Claire asked.
"Go get the truck." Owen said.
"Oh, my God." Claire fearfully said.
"Wait a minute, where's Tom?" D'Angelo asked.
"They took him too." Olivia said.
"What?" Jun exclaimed.
They then hurried outside as Claire grabs a coat.
"Oh, God." Claire said softly.
They soon walked outside but then a furious snarl was heard as they stopped in their tracks as Claire gasped.
Blue then screeches furiously.
"Blue?" Jun fearfully said.
"Owen." Claire said.
Owen came out with his rifle.
"Hey. No." Owen said with his left hand out.
Blue snarled as Owen slowly approached her and placed his rifle down as Blue screeched furiously.
"What's her problem?" D'Angelo nervously asked. "She's all furious."
"They took her kid, too." Owen said.
"I'm sorry, did you say she has a kid?" Alex said stunned.
"So that means we're dealing with angry momma." Jun said realizing their problem.
Claire turned to Owen and then back to Blue as she angrily shrieked and snarled.
"I am gonna get her back." Owen said looking Blue in the eye. "I promise you that."
Blue snarled staring at him hissing, and then she suddenly swiftly struck her right hand slashing Owen's hand with a claw as Claire gasped. Blue snarled as Owen held his right hand out, Blue growled looking she was about to lunge at him, but she backs away and then shrieks as she sprints into the trees.
"Come on." Claire said heading off. "I know how to call."
They were soon in the Jeep Grand Wagoneer as they speed across the road.
At ICARIS, Philip, May and Linda were in a room as a drone was being sent down the fissure.
"10,000 feet and descending still." Linda reported.
"Steady as it goes, Linda." May said and then looked around the room. "Still don't understand where Sledkin could be."
"Same here." Philip said. "She has been a little absent since joining operations with Biosyn."
Just then, a phone was heard ringing.
"Oh, excuse me." May said and grabs her phone and answered it. "Hello? Ah, Olivia. About to catch the flight back home?"
She then frowned as indistinct rapid speaking was heard.
"Wait... Hold on, hold on, slow down." May said.
Philip and Linda turn to her.
"What's wrong?" May asked.
"Tom's been taken!" Olivia's voice said.
"He's what?" May said shocked.
"What's happening?" Linda asked.
"Someone took Tom!" May said.
Philip and Linda turn to each other.
At the lair, Eugene was keeping an eye on Thunder, Wu and Wei, Plowhorn and Feathers as usual. At the moment, they were resting as Webmaster was next to him.
"Don't you guys even want to do anything, today?" Eugene asked.
Thunder turns to him, but ignored him and went back to sleep.
Eugene sighed hanging his head down and turns to Webmaster.
"How did I get myself in to this again?" Eugene asked himself.
He then glanced back, and then noticed something odd.
"Huh?" Eugene frowned.
By the hand prints, Eugene saw the spot where Jun's shield, Tom's lightning sword and the capsule were but they are missing now.
"Uh... Where are they?" Eugene wondered.
Webmaster went to the ledge and sniffs the spot and lightly growled.
Then Eugene's phone rang as he grabbed and saw it was Jun calling and answered it as the other dragons turn to him.
"Hey, Jun." Eugene said. "Yes, the dragons are fine. But-"
He then frowned as he listened to the phone.
"Wait, wait." Eugene said. "What'd you say?"
Thunder tilted his head as Eugene got concern.
"Someone took Tom." Jun said.
"What?" Eugene said. "O-O-Okay. I'll find Mom."
He hangs up and turns to the dragons.
"So, uh, listen my winged friends." Eugene said backing away to the ledge trying to remain calm. "It seems that a friend has been kidnapped."
The dragons then got concern as Thunder roared at him.
"Okay, fine!" Eugene gave out. "It's Tom."
Thunder then let out a panicked roar.
"But-but-but, don't worry." Eugene said trying to reassure him. "They'll get him back. Just... stay... put."
He then climbs up the ledge heading outside.
Thunder then growled and turns to the other dragons.
Eugene hurries off back to ICARIS as then a roar was heard, and he looked back and saw Thunder, Wu and Wei, Plowhorn and Feathers flying out of the opening.
"What?!" Eugene exclaimed panicking. "No, no, no, no, no! Come back! Come back!"
The 4 dragons quickly flew off and were soon out of sight.
"Jun's going to kill me." Eugene said nervously.
In a room somewhere, Sledkin was on her phone with someone.
"We got the boy." A voice said. "They're on their way as we speak."
"Good." Sledkin said.
She then hangs up.
"All right, Kullersen." Sledkin said sinisterly. "Let's see what I can squeeze out from you."
Author's Note:
And with that, the ice is broken.
The return of the Night Fury. And Tom revealed to be the one being kidnapped. The kidnapping on the Night Fury cub will be revealed later on, as well as how Olivia and Owen knowing each other.
As for what happened in 9-1-1, Athena's father was revealed to suffered a stroke, which I thought was a heart attack. But close enough. Anyway, later on a body was found which was an old friend to Athena, Tanya.
