Chapter 4:
The Stadium is filled with a cheerful crowd who are waiting for an exciting next battle!
The referee started. "The battle between Trent Fernandez of Eterna City, and Duke Rogers of Veilstone City will be starting shortly. This is a one-on-one, and the match will end when either trainer's Pokemon are defeated, or if one trainer forfeits. This match will be held on a forest battlefield. Are both trainers ready?" the referee asked.
Both nodded.
"Haxorus, Go Roar!" Trent called
"Garchomp, Win this for me" Duke choose
A blue-colored bipedal, draconian Pokémon is standing in front of Duke. It has red on its underbelly from the lower jaw to the middle of the abdomen, including the undersides of its arms. A patch of gold comes to a point below the red on its belly, and a golden star shape adorns the tip of its snout.
On the other hand, Trent unleashes his own dragon-type pokemon. Haxorus is bipedal Pokémon with a dark, yellow-green covering on its back and most of the front. It has black skin covering its torso, tail tip, and thighs, as well as red talons and claws. Its large tusks, which resemble scythes, are black and edged in red, and are located on its upper jaw on the side of its mouth.
"Haxorus versus Garchomp, begin!" The ref shouted
"Garchomp, use Dragon Pulse" Duke started
Garchomp forms a ball of multicolored energy inside its mouth and then fires a multicolored dragon-shaped beam of energy from it at Haxorus.
"Haxorus, cut is with Dual Chop," Trent said
Haxorus remains calm, his claws glow green and they cut through the incoming multicolored dragon-shaped beam of energy. The audience is shocked after the display of such brutal power from the Axe Jaw Pokemon
"Ahh, That powerful attack user" Duke grinned, "Go use Dragon Rush"
"Intercept with Dragon Claw" Trent Command
Garchomp flies into the air and the appendages on its head glow blue. It then releases blue, dragon-shaped energy that covers its body and flies towards Haxorus, whose claw covers with a light-green aura and turns into a claw-like shape. Haxorus then grabs the Garchomp's Dragon Rush attack and continues to block it. After a few seconds, the power from two tremendously strong dragon-type moves creates a small explosion, which forces both of the pokemon a few feet back
"Damn! His Haxorus is on another level. Garchomp, use Flamethrower" Duke commanded, trying to get back in the match
"Use Dual Chop," Trent countered
Garchomp fires a hot stream of fire from his mouth toward Haxorus. Haxorus's claws glow green and it runs towards the incoming Flamethrower. It cut through the fire-type attack like previously it did with Dragon Pulse and hit Garchomp repeatedly with the glowing dragon,aura-covered claws.
"Garchomp, No!, Damn it, I got to do something, Garchomp use Dig" Duke commanded, knowing that he must do something or else the match will be over shortly, along with his chances of qualifying for the next round
Garchomp flies into the air and dives into the ground, following his trainer's order
"Haxorus, Use Iron Tail on the ground as hard as you can," Trent said
Haxorus's tail glows white and it hits the ground near the hole Garchomp digs in. The ground shakes and shattered a little which pulls out Garchomp from the hole he is hiding in. Garchomp falls to the ground in front of his trainer and looks in visible pain
"Garchomp, No!, Get up, Use Draco Meteor," Duke said to his injured pokemon, hoping for some miracle to save him
"Haxorus, show him the real Draco Meteor," Trent said with lots of confidence in him
Garchomp tries to stand and concentrate to launch his attack, only to see an orb of energy appear in the center of Haxorus's stomach and his body becomes surrounded by a faint orange aura. A sphere of bright orange energy forms inside of Haxorus's mouth and is fired into the sky, where it explodes and releases several spheres of energy that rain down on the Garchomp, resulting in a small explosion due to which dust and smoke surround the area. When the smoke and dust settle, Garchomp is lying on the ground with black swirls on his eyes
"Garchomp is unable to battle, Haxorus wins! The match goes to Trent!" The referee announced raising the red flag on Trent's side
"We did it Haxours" Trent rubs Haxorus's head and returns him back to his Pokeball
Duke and Trent met in the middle of the battlefield shaking each other's hands and appreciating their efforts. The big screen shows victory for Trent who is now placed in the second position in his group and qualified for the next round along with Damien.
