Author's note.
Apologizes for not updating this story; shortly after I posted this, life just took it's course over me and eventually with time I forgot about this story entirely. I will try my best to write some more. Shoutout to all the people who stuck around.
After the Global Occult Coalition announced that the SCP Foundation was the main organization responsible for the disappearance of Menagerie. Activists, in particular Faunus rights activists, came out in droves. The activists called for the SCP Foundation leaders to be brought to justice and to a lesser extent the Global Occult Coalition.
On the other hand, many extreme anti-Faunus groups praised the SCP Foundation for the disappearance of Menagerie and in turn making a good chunk of the Faunus population disappear.
Ever since the disappearance of Menagerie, the location of several sites was leaked and posted everywhere on the internet.
No one knows who, but the damage has been done.
Ever since that leak, a mob of Faunus rights activists protested at the entrance of Site-21, the group of protesters kept getting bigger hour by hour.
The Site Director of Site-21 ordered the facility guards to crowd control the ever-increasing mob.
At the entrance of the site, tons of protesters can be seen emerging from the numerous cars coming in and out of the Site's parkour lot.
Many of the protesters were chanting in an orderly fashion, some of them even tried to rush the entrance to get in, but they were quickly apprehended.
"We want justice!" Many protesters chanted at the facility guards.
The protests were relatively peaceful, until a Faunus jumped on the guard and started biting and punching the guard. By instinct, the guard pulled out their gun and fired several bullets into Faunus' chest.
The bullets rang through the air and some protesters smartly ran away, along with a blood curdling scream a few seconds later.
The protesters, one by one turned their attention towards the guard and the Faunus.
The sight of a dead Faunus was the breaking point for many people. The crowd in front of the site started to become even louder and more aggressive.
Many of the people in the crowd didn't see the entire exchange between the Faunus and the guard and only saw the part with the Faunus lying dead on the floor.
At this point of the protest, the protest was starting to turn into a riot. People were bringing baskets of Molotov Cocktails out of the trunk of their cars and distributing them among the crowd.
Suspicious looking trucks gave rifles and other firearms along with ammunition to the protesters.
The Site Director was pissed. She was working in her office until she heard all of the commotions outside. She pushed curtains to the sides and glanced through the window.
The Site Director saw a dead Faunus laying on the ground and a very injured facility guard that was currently being rushed to the site's medical section. She was about to tell off the guards, but she didn't have a radio. She decided the best course of action was to yell at them from the roof.
As she was walking towards the stairway that led to the roof, she passed the break room. The break room held a special spot in her heart. She met her current husband and many long term friends there. She often loved to sit and drink coffee in the break room staring outside the window, thinking of all the good memories that occurred there.
She smiled intensely with nostalgia.
After passing the break room, she arrived at her destination. She climbed up the metal stairway, each footstep radiating sound clearly signifying if someone was there. As she walked over to the very edge of the roof; she could feel a strange aura behind her, she ignored it since many scientists and guards often liked to rest in tranquility on the roof
Even though the roof was forbidden to many personnel onsite. She didn't blame people for resting on it, the ambience on the roof was bliss. The feeling of wind skimming your hair and watching the crowds in the sky slowly shift away, seeing the red, glistening leaves slowly drift down during the fall, was just simply amazing.
As she strolled slowly to the fringe of the roof. She stared deeply into the forest and admired its beauty.
Then she heard a very deep sounding voice behind her.
"HALT!" A man yelled, the voice getting heavenly suppressed by the green respirator that he was wearing.
The Site Director angrily turned around, ready to chew who disrupted her peace.
She was expecting a fresh out of college student in a lab uniform with very geeky glasses, but instead, she saw five men in an uniform holding an assault rifle ; the loaded rifles were pointing straight at her, ready to be unleashed in all its fury.
Three of the five men walked over to her. They all held their guns in the same position straightforwardly and with eyes that were ready to kill.
The Site Director steadily raised her arms up and laid on the floor on her stomach. Maybe, if she submitted fast to them, she wouldn't die. Maybe, she could still see her children and her family after this.
She knew the truth deep down. They never take prisoners.
The three men surrounded her, holding their positions steadily. They formed a strange formation around her. She, however, wasn't focusing on armed men around her but the two men talking in the background. She tried to eavesdrop on what they were saying but she couldn't make out what they were saying.
The two men stopped talking after a few minutes and turned their heads towards the three freshly new recruits and nodded. The three recruits nodded back, then the recruits pointed their rifles at the woman, before she could even scream, the sound of bullets rang through the air.
One of the men kicked the woman's body with their leather boots. It was not his first time killing a human and it wouldn't be his last time.
The "protest" at this moment was getting very bloody, Molotov Cocktails were being thrown at the guards and even some protesters were firing bullets into the guards.
Some of the guards during the chaos noticed a helicopter landing down on top of the roof. Many of them sighed in relief. A helicopter always meant one thing.
Reinforcements.
As the protesters and guards clashed; some of the guards and protesters paid attention to the helicopter.
When the helicopter settled on the grass, they could see several armed soldiers coming out in militarist fashion.
But, the thing is...
They didn't have SCP insignia on them.
