Growling, Enel stared at a machine that was completely covered in flames, as the fire spread rapidly. Gritting his teeth, he walked over to a wall covered in gold and turned it into a large amount of liquid, which completely covered the damaged machinery.
Thanks to this, the flames disappeared from his sight. However, this didn't completely solve the problem. Even if the fire had stopped, enormous damage had been done.
Admittedly, Enel had planned an emergency plan which consisted of floating the boat in the air, thanks to 200 Jet Dials. But the problem was that, without the machines, Maxim was unable to move, he could only stand still.
And Enel was unable to repair these machines without the help of J or the people who built the ark. And without the ark, Enel couldn't go to his dream realm.
Thinking of that, he clenched his fist, before disappearing. And two seconds later, he reappeared on the pontoon of his ark and faced Vivi. With a bloody face, the young girl was seated on the ground and leaned against the railing of the boat.
Yet, despite her sorry state, she was smiling.
" What are you laughing at ? "
"God is supposed to be the being that created our planet." Vivi reminded him. "He's supposed to be able to do the impossible! But you, without the help of a boat, are unable to get to where you want...it's so pitiful."
She spit out drool, feeling Enel's foot hitting her stomach hard and began to scream in agony, trying to catch her breath.
"Who is the more pitiful of us two?" Enel questioned her. "Certainly, Maxim cannot take me where I want! Nevertheless, once I have pulverized this place, I could always help him to go down until he joins the blue sea.
Smiling, then he lifted his face, to see that Maxim was still able to produce the clouds that would allow him to destroy Skypiea.
"It will take me longer than expected but, I am sure that the inhabitants of the blue sea will be happy to help me, before I exterminate them too."
Seeing the cloud area getting bigger and bigger, Smoker growled in displeasure, while asking.
"I have to stop all this."
"And what are you planning to do?" Loke retorted. "Do you really think you're in a fit state to fight?"
"Because you think we have a choice?" the colonel roared. "Damn it! What are you doing, Mugiwara?"
"He's not on the ark anymore." Aisa retorted.
"Huh?" the duo wondered, turning to her.
Only staring at Maxim, the girl affirmed.
"There are only two people left on the ark: Enel and a woman I don't know! Luffy fell a few minutes ago and the others left the ark shortly after."
"The fool." Smoker roared. "I knew it was completely stupid to trust him."
"ENEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLL ! "
Startled, everyone turned to the Giant Jack, as someone was climbing it, while carrying a huge golden ball.
"MUGIWARA?" They wondered.
"Huh?" The young man wondered, lowering his gaze.
Stopping, he shouted.
"ROBIN! SMOKEY! LION! I'M COUNTING ON YOU TO TAKE CARE OF OTHERS!"
Then, resuming his race, he assured.
"I'LL TAKE CARE OF ENEL!"
Suddenly, lightning was heard.
" Huh ? "
"Hey, partner! Wake up."
Opening his eyes, Fullbody saw Jango's face above his own as he tried to bring him back to consciousness.
" Jango ... ? "
"Shhhhttt ! " The hypnotist ordered him, placing a finger in front of his mouth. "You don't have to stand out."
Looking around, and seeing the sky darken, he declared.
"I don't know what's going on, but it looks like the end of the world is coming."
"WHAT?" Fullbody yelled, standing up.
However, he also saw the many lightning bolts in the sky, as they all headed in one direction.
"Lightning? Is Enel doing that?"
"I don't know." Jango confessed. "But it's best that we leave."
"Where do we have?" Fullbody asked, noticing that they weren't on top of the Giant Jack anymore.
"I...I don't know! It feels like our platform has collapsed."
" OYE ! ATTENTION ! "
Startled, the duo turned around and cried out in fear, seeing a waver coming towards them, while zigzagging. Also crying out in fear, Usopp was unable to control the craft, which looked like a real wild horse.
" HELP ME ! "
Unfortunately, only jumping to the side, Jango and Fullbody let the craft continue on its way, before crashing into a tree.
"OUCH!" Usopp complained.
Being totally soaked from their forced swim earlier, Bellamy groaned in annoyance, all the while asserting.
"The Mugiwara crew...it's just a bunch of crackpots."
"Hey, it's not a fault this thing is complicated to fly." Usopp roared.
"Bellamy?" Fullbody wondered.
"Long nose?" Jango said frightened.
"Huh?" The duo wondered.
"USOPP!" Menma suddenly shouted.
Still on Heracross' back, she let him put his feet on the ground, before rushing towards Usopp.
"Were you able to save Vivi and the others?"
" No. " The sniper confessed. "Vivi helped us get off the boat and for that she stayed behind."
"What?" But we have to get her back. "
"How?" Asked Usopp. "Without Sanji or Luffy, it's not even worth hoping to do anything against this guy! Besides, the island will be destroyed in a few moments."
"WHAT?" Their names were Jango and Fullbody. "Destroyed?"
Suddenly, lightning was heard.
"And here we go." Enel assured.
Now aiming at the village of Aisa, he asserted.
"Let's see if someone will stop me from destroying it! MAXIM EL THOR !"
A column of lightning fell from the sky and pulverized the lands of the Shandians who, fleeing by boat, saw their village being completely destroyed. Seeing the statue of Kalgara being destroyed and falling to the ground, the village chief could only say.
"Wiper...you did what you could, but I fear today is the end of the Shandians."
Having seen this, Usopp's group remained completely frozen, seeing the lightning column annihilating an entire area.
"We're going to get killed." Fullbody shouted.
Then, more lightning fell from the sky, and hit Upper Yard.
"It started here too." Usopp frightened.
Seizing Sanji's body, he entrusted it to Heracross, before taking Shinichi.
"We have to go quickly."
"Where's your boat?" Fullbody asked.
"We lost it! And you, where is yours?"
"It was destroyed."
" It's a joke ? "
"Where can we go?" Jango asked, looking around.
Suddenly, he froze, seeing a huge figure.
Lying on the ground, Reiner's body in his titan form was still visible, while the blond was inside his body.
"Reiner...?" Fullboby wondered. "Even he was defeated."
Looking at the titan, then Maxim, Jango noticed.
"If we can't flee...then maybe we can destroy this boat."
" WHAT ? "
Suddenly, the hypnotist started running towards Reiner. Then, arrived in front of him, he climbed his body, before finding himself in front of the face of the titan.
"HEY, REINER! Can you hear me? REINER!"
He got no response. Seeing this, the hypnotist changed position and used one of his chakrams to slice the flesh from the titan's neck. Eventually, after a few seconds of surgery, he ends up seeing Reiner's upper body leave the titan's body.
Unfortunately, appearing to be in the same condition as his creation, Reiner's body was completely charred, while his eyes were closed.
"OH HEY! It's no time to sleep! The island is going to be destroyed! HEY, can you hear me?"
Always nothing.
"DAMN IT! Open your fucking eyes! Do you think I want to die? You're the only one who can possibly save us! Help us! We're all in danger! Hina-san! Smoker! And even your girlfriend... MODA!"
"It's no use." Fullbody retorted. "Too bad, let's swim out of here and..."
Suddenly, a hand grabbed Jango's tie, making him jump in fear.
"Mo… Moda." Reiner whispered.
Attempting to turn his face to Jango, he whispered.
"I have to...save her."
Seeing him more or less conscious, Jango grabbed his chakram and began to move it before Reiner's eyes.
"Look at this chakram! Look at it! When I say 'ONE!' TWO! JANGO! Your wounds will be healed and you will feel like a superman! You understood ? "
Reiner remained silent.
" ONE ! TWO ! JANGOOOOOOOO ! "
"ENEL!" roared Wiper.
Having seen his village being destroyed, the man tried to get back to his feet, but could only cry out in pain, finding that his body refused to do so.
"DAMN IT! DAMN IT! I DAMN YOU ENEL!"
"It's no use screaming..."
Having woken up, Gan Fall looked in the direction of Maxim, all while affirming.
"All we can do...is act."
" Luffy already takes care of it. " Robin affirmed.
"And there's only him to stop it."
Being already awake, along with Bruno and Gin, Zoro stared at the top of the Giant Jack, knowing now that Skypiea's fate will only depend on Luffy. Seeing them remain serene, Shura groaned.
"Do you mind trusting your lives to this guy?"
"We've already done our part." Gin retorted.
" What ? "
" We defeated as many enemies as possible. " Bruno assured. "So now that no one is going to get in his way, Luffy just has to defeat Enel."
Then, the three men affirmed.
"We have confidence in our captain."
Suddenly, a roar was heard and shook the whole island.
"HAHAHAHA! ADMIRE!" Enel shouted, seeing everything being destroyed. "The power of a god! I can feel it! I've become the new Zarax! The new god of genocide is me."
Staring at him with rage, Vivi retorted.
"You can always dream. "
"Oh, really and who's going to stop me?" Enel questioned.
However, seeming to have a premonition, the man began to look in the direction of the Giant Jack.
" Huh ? Impossible ... "
However, he felt an aura that came to him. An aura he knew.
"Mugiwara!"
But suddenly, lightning fell from the sky and struck an area of Upper Yard. However, instead of destroying everything, this lightning gave birth to a titan, which roared towards the sky.
" The titan? " Enel wondered, who was sure he had knocked him down.
Thrown aside by the lightning that fell on Reiner, Usopp and the others saw the blond transform into a true giant.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Usopp shouted. " A monster. "
"Partner, what do you want with him?" Fullbody asked.
Masi in response, the group saw Reiner let out a roar, before running full speed towards Maxim.
Shaking the ground beneath his feet, the titan managed to accelerate. Seeing this, Enel began to growl, before pointing a finger at him. Immediately a lightning left the clouds and struck the titan.
Yet, seeming to feel nothing, Reiner suddenly flexed his legs, before leaping towards Maxim. Then, stretching his arms up to the sky, he covered his fingers with crystal, before using them to grip Maxim's hull.
Immediately, the whole boat began to shake and the boat felt itself pulling downwards, while many creaking noises were heard from the hull.
"Drop that!" Enel ordered, pointing his golden staff at him. " 100,000,000 VOLTS! "
Concentrating his power in a single spot, he aimed for one of the titan's wrists and used his attack to pulverize it. And quickly, his attack separated the hand from the rest of the titan's arm.
Being restrained only by his other good hand, the titan let out a cry, noticing that many cracks appeared in the hull, all around his fingers. Then, finally, this part of the hull gave way and the giant fell before crashing into Upper Yard, creating a huge crash.
"Tssss!" Enel growled.
Yet he found that Maxim continued to fall. Indeed, the area of the hull that had just been damaged included part of the Jets Dials, which had fallen at the same time as Reiner.
From now on, the number of dials used to make the ark float was insufficient.
"GRRRRR! You dare destroy my precious bomber?" Enel roared. " In this case, ... "
Lightning rushed over Upper Yard.
"I will destroy this island, here and now. MAXIM EL ..."
Unfortunately, it happened at this moment that a huge column of energy struck the damaged hull, before piercing the boat and feeling towards the sky, pulverizing part of the floor.
Frozen, Enel only watched as the attack swept up into the sky, as many explosions were heard inside the ark. Maxim was now a flying wreck.
Having focused all their attacks together, the pokemons of the island were the source of this column of energy that had aimed at the ark. And in an instant, they had avenged themselves for the years of slavery they had lived here.
"Perfect." Nami announced.
Then, raising her gaze to the sky, she directed her climate-tact towards the huge clouds, before affirming.
"Now it's my turn to play."
Aiming for the center of the clouds, just above Maxim, she eventually created a sphere of wind that raced skyward. Seeing this, some pokemon like Sigilyph or Corvisquire used wind attacks and merged them with Nami's.
Flying higher and higher, the sphere of wind ends up hitting the clouds, before scattering, in order to release the powerful gusts of wind it contained. Getting swept to the side, the clouds above Upper Yard gave way to a huge hole that allowed the blue sky to be seen again.
"Perfect." Nami announced.
Nevertheless, Slaking positioned himself in front of her and he spat blood, feeling a sharp gust of wind lacerate his body.
" Sla... " The pokemon muttered, before falling to the ground.
Frightened, Nami saw Yama and several Enel soldiers facing the pokemons. Despite his wounds, the leader of Enel's army smiled, while declaring.
"It may not be too late for us to flee with Enel-sama! If we manage to take your heads, then perhaps he will let us accompany him to his kingdom."
"Tssss! You're a bunch of idiots." Nami retorted.
Feeling a vein forming on his forehead, Yama jumped into the air, before landing towards Nami.
" AXE MOUNTAIN ! "
Unfortunately for him, it was the man who spat blood, feeling a spear and a sword rip him open. Screaming in fear, Enel's soldiers saw the big man crash to the ground, while a pair appeared in front of them.
" We advise you to leave this island. " Confirmed Norland.
"I advise you to die." Retorted Kalgara.
Then, pulverizing the forest, Nola appeared in turn, while carrying Kuina, Marco and Mina on his head.
"The snake?" Nami wondered.
Then, she saw Norland aiming his sword at the soldiers, while declaring.
"Enel is killing thousands of people! So if you insist on fighting, we will pulverize you to the last! And I promise you we will."
Feeling his fist shaking with rage, Enel stared at the blue sky above him, while Maxim was unable to produce any more.
Finally, turning around, he saw Vivi standing there, still smiling defiantly at him.
" It's the first time I've seen a god being hated so much by his people. " She affirmed.
In response, Enel used his lightning to transform his weapon, which took the form of a staff with a club on the end. And before Vivi could react, her head was hit by the end of the weapon. Feeling the bones of her skull crack, she collapsed.
Nevertheless, preventing her from falling, by gripping her hair, Enel forced her to straighten up, while he affirmed.
"Do you think this will stop me?"
Looking at the clouds above Skypiea, he declared.
"Perhaps I am incapable of pulverizing Upper Yard! Nevertheless, it is not the same for this place! MAXIM EL THOR !"
"GO! GO! GO! GO!" McKinley shouted, running towards a boat.
being already on it, one of his soldiers, affirmed.
"Captain, the evacuation of Skypiea is over! And we have recovered Aneko's companions."
Indeed, lying on the floor of the boat, Johnny, Yosaku and Eeavee were now ready to be taken out of harm's way.
"In that case, send me that boat." Mckinley ordered, putting Pit and Raynare on the boat.
Imitating him, Pagaya barely had time to put down Velvet's body, when they saw a column of lightning form and fall towards Skypiea.
"LET'S GO!" McKinley ordered, before Skypiea was pulverized.
Hearing the deafening noise, Pit opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was Skypiea's destruction. The island he had tried to save, even to the point of selling his soul to the devil.
" Damn it ! "
Gritting his teeth, feeling a tear roll down his cheek.
"Gan Fall-san...Conis-chan...I'm sorry! I didn't keep my promise! I couldn't protect Skypiea."
"Damn." Raynare growled.
Also seeing the island being destroyed, the fallen angel remembered a sentence spoken by Vivi, before affirming.
"What makes a country important is not its territory ... but its people."
Then, she looked at the many boats around them, before affirming.
"You helped protect him."
Seeing the island of Skypiea completely pulverized, Enel stretched out his arms and seemed to relish feeling the shockwaves his attack caused.
"HAHAHAHAHA! And that's how I saw Skypiea! Never has this island been more beautiful than now."
A sharp object passed by her hand and cut Vivi's hair.
"Huh?" Enel wondered, giving him a quick glance.
Being again armed with a sharp jewel, Vivi had used it to free herself from Enel's grip. Nonetheless, feeling her head spinning, she dropped to one knee, as blood drained from her face to the floor.
"What do you hope you can do? You're just making fun of yourself."
"There's nothing ridiculous about fighting to survive." Vivi retorted.
Raising her head, to show the conviction that was in her eyes, she declared.
"I'm Nefertari Vivi, former Princess of Alabasta! But none of that matters now! It's true that I'm not very good at fighting and I'm not particularly smart but, I know one thing..."
Forcing herself to her feet, she asserted.
"I am a member of the team of Monkey D. Luffy, the man who will become the Pirate King and I know that if I give up without doing anything to stop you, I will bring shame to the person who saved my country and my own-life."
Then, she forced herself to take a step forward, before throwing her weapon at Enel.
"And just like Luffy and the others did for me, I would sacrifice my life, if it helps them survive! Enel, I'm not afraid of you."
The man remained completely still, even when Vivi's sharp pendant decapitated him. Simply letting out an annoyed sigh, he reached his arm towards Vivi, before grabbing her throat, before slamming the young princess's body hard against Maxim's floor.
Around the duo, Enel heard new explosions inside Maxim, as the reactors exploded one after another. Nothing could save his boat. Nevertheless, he was going to make sure that Maxim wasn't the only one who was going to disappear.
"Earlier, you may have survived my lightning, but that's only because you blocked it with your arms."
Suddenly, Vivi felt Enel's feet crushing her arms, while the man didn't hesitate to exert painful pressure on her broken arm. Nevertheless, gritting her teeth not to scream, the young woman then saw Enel raise his hand, which he covered with lightning.
"You're right that you're not particularly smart! Because if you had a gram of brains, you wouldn't be dead! 100,000,000 VOLTS! "
Immediately, lightning struck Vivi and blasted her. Immediately, Vivi screamed in pain and was about to pass out to die.
Feeling a light invade her mind, she let it take hold of her soul and begin to guide her out of her body.
" Everyone...sorry. "
Yet, as Vivi's soul was about to vanish, she heard a voice questioning her.
" Didn't you promise me that you would come back to save me? "
Then, the image of Robin appeared in Vivi's mind, as she affirmed to her.
" I'm waiting for you, Princess Wednesday...just like Luffy and the others ."
"It's over." Enel assured.
Still, his eyes widened, seeing Vivi's body glowing.
" What is that ? "
Appearing to regain consciousness, Vivi felt the lightning stop hurting her. On the contrary, penetrating into each of the cells of her body, the lightning seemed to transform into an energy that boosted her.
And finally, Vivi opened her eyes, before her body caused a huge explosion.
"Huh?" Luffy wondered, stopping his ascent to the top of Giant Jack.
Raising their gaze to the sky, everyone present on Upper Yard also saw the huge explosion, which pulverized the front of the Maxim.
"What is it...?" Aisa asked.
"Enel blew up his own boat?" Gin asked.
For his part, frowning, Gan Fall saw a huge figure appear above the bomber. The silhouette looked like a sphere composed entirely of lightning. However, she quickly changed shape, before taking on the appearance of an animal.
"Does it move?" Jango wondered.
"Is this thing alive?" Fullbody wanted to know.
For his part, seeing the color of the figure, Usopp widened his eyes, before stuttering.
" Impossible ... "
"Vivi...?" Nami wondered.
For her part, simply breaking into a smile, Robin affirmed.
" She is magnificent. "
Opening her eyes, the animal spread her huge wings, while everyone could see the huge raptor now flying above Maxim.
"What is this animal?" Zoro asked.
"In my world, there are three legendary birds." Bruno affirmed. "The first is Phenix, the bird capable of mastering fire..."
Also being able to see Vivi's new transformation, Raynare was saying an identical speech to the people around her.
"Then we have the Rokh, the bird that wields the powers of the earth."
"And finally..." the pair said, looking at the giant raptor. "...there is the Thunderbird! The bird that masters wind and lightning."
Having seen Vivi transform, Enel then backed away, while a single wingbeat from the giant bird was enough to move what was left of Maxim backwards. Then, the giant bird glared at the god angrily, before flying towards him.
