Chapter 3 A Love that Cannot Be

Tsukasa's POV

That Afternoon

Wonderlands x Showtime had gathered at the Wonder Stage to discuss our next show.

"Wonderlands x Showtime", I started. "It is time for us to begin working on our next show!"

"Indeed, Tsukasa-Kun", Rui started. "As it turns out, I have thought of an idea for our next show."

"Excellent Rui", I praised. "I can always trust my always reliable director! Now then, what is this idea that you have come up with?"

"Well", Rui started. "I was thinking that we could do a show based around the theme of a love that cannot be."

Upon hearing these words, I was taken aback.

"A love that cannot be", I asked.

"Yes", Rui replied. I believe that there is something special about two people who, for one reason or another, should not be together, but still fight to due so anyway."

"Awwww", Emu started. "That sounds so bittersweet! Like eating dark chocolate!"

"Then we'll have to think of a plot revolving around that theme", Nene said.

While everybody else discussed the show, I was lost in thought.

Rui mentioning 'a love that cannot be' made me think about a certain one of my sister's friends.

Later that Day

Rui's POV

Emu, Nene and I had arrived in Sekai.

"Emu-Chan", Miku greeted before running up to us. "And Nene-Chan and Rui-Kun too! Long time no see!"

"Hello, Miku-Chan", Emu greeted. "It's so good to see you again!"

"I'm so glad you're here", Miku started. "Now you can listen to Tsukasa-Kun's song!"

"Huh", Nene started. "Tsukasa's here?"

"He sure is", Miku replied. "Follow me!"

With that, Miku led us into the tent.

When we got there, we saw everybody else and the plushies intensely watching Tsukasa, who was playing the piano and singing a song.

Tonight

When the song finished, we all broke out into a loud applause, taking Tsukasa by surprise.

"Gah", he exclaimed. "What are you guys doing here?!"

"That song was amazing, Tsukasa-Kun", Emu exclaimed.

"Indeed", I agreed. "Did you write it yourself?"

"Well", Tsukasa started. "I composed the melody, and wrote the lyrics you heard, but those are a continuation of lyrics written by someone else."

"Well", I started. "I think we should use that song in our next show!"

"What", Tsukasa exclaimed.

"It fits the theme of a 'love that cannot be' perfectly", I stated. "We must absolutely use it in our next show!"

"Now wait just a minute", Tsukasa started. "I told you that my lyrics are a continuation of somebody else's, and I'm not sure that she'd be comfortable with me using her song in a show!"

"You could always ask her", Nene suggested.

"Please do", Emu pleaded. "I wanna see Tsukasa-Kun perform this song in our show!"

Tsukasa was about to protest, but sighed in defeat.

"I'll ask her."
