Allison and Luke's Apartment. Later that evening.
(Luke)
While Bender had been packing up his shit, I had made myself scarce by staying in the bedroom. The last thing that I needed was to be pulled into the relationship drama. Bender would no doubt try to pull him onto his side, playing the fellow man card. I would have been on Allison's side & that would have just gotten the son of a bitch to throw a punch at me most likely. Once the criminal and grease monkey had left the apartment, I went over to Allison who was letting silent tears roll down her face. I cursed Bender under my breath as I went over and gave Allison a hug that she clearly needed. It wasn't fair that she was always having to take shit from people. Once you got past the basket case persona that she had created for herself and really got to know Allison Reynolds for who she was...you couldn't help but care for her. She was such a good person. It wasn't like with Claire who pretended to be a good person deep down, Allison really was a good person deep down.
"I'm sorry Allison, at least you're done with that jackass for good now." I told her as she rested her head on my shoulder.
"I thought he wanted me to be his girlfriend...but he just wanted a maid and a piece of ass in 1 package." Allison replied glumly as I made her look me in the eyes.
"Listen to me Allison...you are no one's maid and you are certainly no one's piece of ass. You are an amazing person, an amazing girlfriend, and an amazing friend in general...you are so unique Allison." I insisted as I hated that anyone had her feel like those were her only ways to contribute to society when in reality, she was worth so much more.
"If that's really what you think Luke...then you may be the only one." Allison replied as I rocked her in my arms for a few minutes while she cried and let all of her negative emotions out of her system. After Allison had seemed to calm down a bit, we both got to our feet.
"Do you feel any better now?" I asked as I gently touched her left cheek.
"I'm probably just gonna have supper and check out early if you don't mind." She shrugged as she leaned into my touch a little bit. I decided that what Allison needed was a night out.
"Actually Allison, I was wondering if you might want to grab some pizza with me?" I asked as she looked at me with curiosity.
"Grab pizza...you mean like a date?" Allison asked as she was searching my face for any hint of sarcasm. I honestly didn't know how to answer that at first; but in the end, I decided that there would be worse things to do on a Friday night than taking Allison Reynolds on a date.
Yeah...like a date." I replied as she lowered her head, looking shy and awkward.
"If you just want to nail me, we can go to the bedroom." She replied softly as she took my hand and turned to lead me into the bedroom.
"No Allison...I don't want to have sex with you; not tonight at least." I insisted as I stopped and turned her face to me. "I just want to take you out to eat some pizza, is that so bad?" Allison was quiet for a moment before giving me a small smile.
"Why the Hell not, pick me up in 5 minutes Picasso." she quipped as she headed into the bedroom to change.
Molly's Pizza. Later that night.
There was a pizza place near that apartment that made decent enough pies so we decided to go there. I ordered a large cheese pizza for us to share; I figured that you can never go wrong with the classics, plus neither of us were lactose intolerant. The pizza was good and I was actually enjoying myself as I hoped that she was. We talked about our most recent art projects that we had been working on. Allison had been working on some new pastel paintings where the color black was naturally a big feature. I told her about how my art professor had praised me for the sketch that I did of her.
"He liked it?" Allison asked, seemingly in shock that any one truly thought that she looked pretty.
"Of course he did...you are beautiful Allison." I insisted as I took her hands in mine. Allison looked back in my eyes, even though she looked rather bashful in spite of herself.
"I wish I could believe you." Allison said quietly as my heart broke for her in that moment. What in the Hell had her parents and Bender done to her?
Allison and Luke's Apartment. Later that night.
After we stuffed ourselves with pizza, Allison and I went back to the apartment. Despite the self esteem issues that Allison had dealt with, I'd had a good time and I hoped that she had as well. It was so easy to talk to Allison because most of the time, you didn't have to explain how you felt; she just knew.
"Thank you Luke...this was nice." Allison said as I walked her to her bedroom.
"You think...maybe we could do this again?" I asked, hoping that she would say yes. Allison was silent for a moment before giving her answer.
"If you really want to." She said as she leaned in as if she were going to kiss me on the lips, but instead kissed me on the left cheek before hurrying into her room and slamming the door shut in my face.
