Episode 24: Musical Semifinal Showdown.

Ludwig VO: Last time on The Incredible Crossover Race 2! The final five teams went Dutch as they were off to the Netherlands. They had to endure a callback challenge from season one by navigating a labyrinth and sampling lots of beer. Luckily the Pilots made a redemption and won. During the penalty challenge, the Gender Benders had a clogspiracy with the Clog challenge and didn't quite make it to the finish. Adios to those troublemakers and good riddance I say. (Pictures of the four teams still in the race are shown.) The Pilots, The Changelings, The Lovebirds, and The Speedster Friends. These four remaining teams have made it this far as we approach the conclusion of this season. The real battle begins now because from this point on, it's a nonstop race to the finish. Any team who slows down, will get left behind.
Lakitu: Yikes! That's gonna be a challenge.
(Both Ludwig and Lakitu appear.)
Ludwig: Time to begin part one AKA the semifinal round of today's challenge. Now it's time to begin today's episode of.. The Incredible Crossover Race!
Lakitu: (Says two in Japanese.)
Ludwig: Didn't quite understand that, but whatever.
(A blast of magic got fired up into the sky and that cues the intro.)

Episode 24: Musical Semifinal Showdown.
(We switch to the Dam Square with Ludwig and Lakitu appearing just now.)
Ludwig: We're back in the Netherlands, Amsterdam. We are nearing the end of this season and we went from 20-4. The Pilots, Speedster Friends, Lovebirds, and Changelings. All four of these teams made it this far. Now the real competition begins because one wrong move can easily send you packing. Now it's time to get started with yesterday's winners.
(The Pilots step up and get the tip.)
(Interview: Pilots.)
Fox: Wow, I can't believe we got this far.
Falco: Now that those two evil princesses are gone, it's nothing but smooth sailing from here on out.
Fox: You said it, and when this is over, I'll finally get the girl of my dreams.
Falco: And how!
(Interview: Speedster Friends.)
Sonic: Sweet! I can't believe we made it to the semifinals.
Tails: I'm surprised as well. I honestly thought we'd be out already, but I guess we're just lucky. I'll bet our luck will still continue and we'll make it to the finale for sure.
Sonic: Let's hope we make it!
(Interview: Lovebirds.)
Silverstream: Can you believe it? We made it to the semifinals.
Gallus: Oh I believe it! We had plenty of close calls in the past but look at us now. In the semifinals, and also with our allies too.
Silverstream: How about another hug?
Gallus: Maybe later.
(Interview: Changelings.)
Ocellus: Wow, I never thought we would make it this far.
Thorax: It just goes to show that nice guys do finish first. How's your vision?
Ocellus: Great, I'm so glad I can see clearly again and beat those mean princess twins.
Thorax: See even though they did some dirty deeds throughout the season, it just proves that cheaters never win.
Ocellus: We can do this! (Hoof bump each other.)
Ludwig: Alright, final four, enter the warp pipe right over there after getting your travel tips.
(The Pilots start off and receive the tip.)
Fox: Take the warp pipe where you will go to the Electrodrome.
(An image of Electrodrome is shown.)
Ludwig: The Electrodrome! A multicolored neon-lit nightclub where many Shy Guys, Koopa Troopas, and many more creatures hang out to par-Tay! Also a perfect place to hold the semifinals! More will be explained once the teams arrive.
(All the remaining teams get their tips as well. They all head down the warp pipe and appeared at the Electrodrome.)
Sonic: Whoa, now this is a party!
Tails: You can say that again.
(Ludwig is waiting for them right by the giant jumbotron screen.)
Silverstream: I can't wait to see who's going to perform here.
Ludwig: You won't have to because you guys are the performers.
Falco: We're doing what now?
Lakitu: That's right your next challenge is gonna be... Karaoke!
Ocellus: So we're going to be singing?
Ludwig: Indeed you are. Your performances are gonna be judged by the applause from the audience. Everyone only gets one try to dazzle the audience with their solo or team performances. Oh and one more thing, this is the semifinal round. That means for this challenge, two teams will move on to the finale and two teams will be eliminated. Challenging isn't it? The two teams that have the best performance will go on to the finale and the other two teams go home empty handed.
(Interview: Pilots.)
Fox: Whoa, a sudden death semifinal round? This just got interesting.
Falco: I'll say.
Lakitu: One more thing, you guys can either choose to do a solo act or a duet. You guys get a few minutes to decide what song you all want to do. Choose wisely, also to all you teams, break a leg.
Ocellus: Do re mi fa sol la ti do. Do I need to practice some more?
Thorax: Probably, but it's only three other teams we're up against.
Sonic: I guess we'll go first. Ready buddy?
Tails: Ready to go. Start the song!
The music begins and the song they're performing is Eye of the Tiger - Survivor.
Sonic: Rising up, back on the street. Did my time, took my chances.
Tails: Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet. Just a man and his will to survive.
Sonic: So many times it happens too fast. You trade your passion for glory.
Tails: Don't lose a grip on your dreams of the past. You must fight just to keep them alive.
Sonic: It's the eye of the tiger. It's the thrill of the fight rising up to the challenge of our rival.
Tails: And the last known survivor, stalks his prey in the night.
Sonic: And he watching us all with the eye of the tiger.
Tails: Face to face, out in the heat. Hanging tough, staying hungry.
Sonic: They stack the odds still we take to the street for the kill with the skill to survive.
Tails: It's the eye of the tiger. It's the thrill of the fight rising up to the challenge of our rival.
Sonic: And the last known survivor, stalks his prey in the night.
Tails: And he watching us all with the eye of the tiger.
Sonic: Rising up, straight to the top. Had the guts, got the glory.
Tails: Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop. Just a man and his will to survive.
Sonic: It's the eye of the tiger. It's the thrill of the fight rising up to the challenge of our rival.
Tails: And the last known survivor, stalks his prey in the night.
Sonic: And he watching us all with the eye(high note)... of the tiger.

(End of the song.)
(There were loud cheers and applause from the audience.)
Sonic: Great work buddy!
Tails: And way to hit that high note.
(On deck were the Lovebirds.)
Gallus: We're up next. I'm not sure about this.
Silverstream: It'll be alright. There must be a song we can do together.
Gallus: I don't know. I haven't had any thoughts on a duet.
Silverstream(getting an idea): Wait, I just remembered something. Can I perform the song by myself?
Gallus: Uhhh... well... I still think this-
Silverstream: It'll work. Don't you trust me?
Gallus: Well... alright. I hope you know what you're doing. (Gives her the microphone and gives her a thumbs up for good luck.)
Silverstream: Ok everyone in the audience. I hope you like what I'm about to sing. (Slowly takes some deep breaths.). Ok, I can do this.
(Puts in her song request and she's gonna perform.)
Silverstream: Lights, camera, action.

(Thorax, Ocellus, and especially Gallus were surprised seeing her have this hidden talent. Thorax closed Gallus's beak after he was in shock.)

(There were even louder cheers and lots and lots of applause after Silverstream performed her song. The others were shocked in disbelief watching her.)

Ocellus: Huh? Who would've guessed she had such talent?
Thorax: I know right?
(Solo interview: Gallus.)
Gallus: Silver, you are just full of surprises I never knew about, but that's why I love her.
Ludwig: Two performances left. Who wants to go next?
Thorax: I've got the song we're doing Ocellus. Let go!
Ocellus: Right behind you.
(They're going to perform a duet with the song Friday.)

Thorax: Wow, didn't know we had that in each other.
Ocellus: If we were to do this again, then I would totally go for it.
Lakitu: Well, that leaves only one performance left. Pilots, will you go for the solo act or the duet?
Fox: Oh boy, it's our turn. (pacing back and forth) What song are we gonna do?
Falco: Actually, I want you to perform solo.
Fox: Me? Oh no, I can't. I don't know.
Falco: Look, don't just do it for us. (Holds up the ring Fox has.) Do it for her. I know you can do it! Braixen wants you to do it too. You have to try. Just think of a song from the heart.
Fox: In that case, I know what I have to do. (Takes the stage and the microphone.) Ok. (Saw his partner giving him a thumbs up.) Here goes nothing.
(The song he is going to perform is I knew I loved you by Savage Garden.)

Ludwig(speaking in the microphone): And that's all there was folks. Right by your seats, there are voting devices for the songs you all just heard. All you have to do is press the button of which song you all liked the most. It's easy, now cast your votes!
(After a few minutes, the votes are in and he collects the final results. He walks over to the four teams to announce the results.)
(Interview: Changelings.)
Ocellus: I've never been so nervous in my life. It comes down to this.
Thorax: Let's hope we did enough to go to the finale.
Ludwig: You guys ready? Here's the final results. In second overall, we have... The Pilots with that love song by Fox. Well done. You edged out the third place team by two votes.
(The Pilots high five each other and the others congratulate them.)
Ludwig: One spot remains and three teams left to pick from. Now in first place overall with a performance we'll never forget. Congratulations Lovebirds! You're heading to the finals!
Gallus: Oh my gosh! Silver you did it! You actually did it! (Gives her a big hug)
Silverstream: Normally, I give hugs, but I'll take it!
Ludwig: Unfortunately, that means the race is over for the Speedster Friends in fourth overall and the Changelings taking third place overall. It's time for both of you to go.
Sonic: Eh, that's ok. We tried.
Tails: We made it this far, that's all that counts.
Silverstream: Aww you guys, I can't believe you're leaving us.
Thorax: It's ok. We may not have won but we still had fun racing with you.
Gallus: So did we. I'm a little bummed out our alliance didn't last til the finale.
Ocellus: Well you two, good luck out there and win it for us and both of you.
Silverstream: We'll miss you.
Lakitu: Ok now if you don't mind, travel tip for you. (Hands one to Gallus.) And one for you too. (Gives the other one to Fox.) As for the both of you, good luck with whatever comes next. Good bye.
Fox: The final destination is-
Silverstream: Hawaii? Amazing!
(The two teams take the transporter pipe and travel back to the Netherlands to catch their next flight.)
(The best of Sonic and Tails: Speedster Friends). AND (The best of Thorax and Ocellus: Changelings).
Scenes of both of these two teams best moments play as they remember all they've been through.
Tails: Well this is a race we'll never forget.
Thorax: Agreed, this has been really fun and doing this with our friends was even better.
Sonic: It's a shame we didn't make it to the finale, but we certainly tried our best.
Ocellus: You don't think I did too bad, did you?
Thorax: Are you kidding? You were incredible throughout this race. I'm so proud of you.
Tails: Even I agree, you two weren't so bad yourselves.
Thorax: Thanks, and you know what? It was a great experience for us all.
(The clips have ended and both teams are seen walking off down the path.)
Sonic: So you guys gonna watch the finale back home?
Thorax: We sure are? How about you?
Tails: You know we will.
Ludwig: Well it all comes down to two teams. Who will win it all? The Lovebirds, or the Pilots? You'll just have to find out on the season finale and the very last episode of... The Incredible Crossover Race!
Lakitu: Season two!
Ludwig: From now on, if you say two, you owe my five bucks.
Lakitu: Whatever!

That wraps up the semifinals. I thought about using karaoke to settle this battle before and decided to go for it. Nonetheless, we have the finals all set. It's the Lovebirds against the Pilots. Only one of them will take it all. Who will it be?
