A Xiaolin Showdown Story
Maxine Spicer's Xiaolin Adventure's
Chapter 15
The Year of the Green Monkey
~Normal POV~
It was a typical day at the Xiaolin temple though with a slight twist. Today was a beautiful sunny day with clear blue sky. A cool breeze blew through the air. A butterfly fluttered gracefully around the grassland. It was just at that moment that the Xiaolin warriors were taking advantage of this gorgeous day with horse-back riding, or in Clay's case bull riding. The horses galloped with speed through the area. Four out of five of the monks were neck-and-neck with each other while the fifth member was behind. Not far behind from the others, but being on a small pony he lagged behind. Still, Omi was having a great time being a cowboy.
Up ahead there came a large hedge. Rai, Kimiko, Clay and Maxine had their horses and bull jump over the hedge with ease. As Omi's horse came up to the hedge instead of a jump the horse came to a sudden stop in front of the hedge and began to eat it. Wanting to know why the horse suddenly stopped Omi took out the Tongue of Saiping and began talking to the creature.
"Horse what are you doing? You are suppose to leap over hedge not eat through it." Said Omi.
"Its too high I'm lowering it." The horse replied.
"Perhaps if you did not eat so much you could leap higher."
"Well perhaps if we switch places you could carry me around for a while."
The two spun around in the air a few times before Omi was kicked off. Landing near a tree where a monkey was taking a nap.
"Mind turning down the volume? Some of us are trying to get a little shut eye." He said.
"In the middle of the day? You are a very lazy animal." Omi told him.
"Hmm what a mouth on someone so small." Came a rabbit who happened to be hopping by.
"I am not small I am compact!" Cried Omi.
Two birds flew by landing on the fountain.
"Yeah anymore compact and we need a microscope to find you." One bird said making herself and all the other animals laugh.
This frustrated Omi calling all the animals rude and lazy. He started shooing the birds away when the monkey and rabbit attacked him. Okay the monkey got on his head and the rabbit bite his leg but it was still an attack. Then Omi threw the monkey off his head and the two start attacking each other while the rest of the monks watch in confusion.
Omi and the monkey got into a heated fight that would have escalated to a whole new level of chaos had Master Fung not pulled out the monkey and let him go free. Omi tried to attack the monkey again but Master Fung topped him. Taking the Tongue of Saiping from the young monk until he learned to get along with animals more quietly. Suddenly, Dojo comes out with the ancient scroll in hand crying out over a Magnitude eight point five Wu alert.
Master Fung opened the scroll and began talking about the new Wu. "The Fountain of Hui has just revealed itself. When activated it provides unlimited knowledge."
"Sounds like a pretty handy Wu if your doing a crossword puzzle." Said Kimiko.
"I'm afraid by itself it can only provide random information." Master Fung told her. "But when combined with its sister Shen Gong Wu, the Eagle Scope, the two can be used to unlock the greatest secrets of the universe."
"You mean like why baboons have such colorful bottoms?" Questioned Omi.
"Omi that's not really a secret of the universe. Hell I can tell you why their bottoms are colorful." Said Maxine.
"All aboard, that is if you don't mind riding a very lazy animal." Said Dojo taking off for the sky once everyone was seated on his back.
~Junk Yard~
Dojo flew the monks into the heart of this gigantic junk yard. Mountains of junk piled high into the sky. Items that had long been forgotten. Broken down, useless, torn to bits was the life these once well oiled and put together items lived. As soon as everyone got off of Dojo and he returned to his normal size, everyone got a good look of their surroundings.
"It appears Jack Spicer has chosen not to show up at a battle he will certainly lose." Said Omi looking around.
"Somehow I doubt that." Said Maxine.
Just then, an old car that balanced on the very top of a mountain of junk began to move. Making a loud enough sound to draw everyone's attention at it. There in the car sat Jack Spicer.
"Wrong again Omi, I show up at all the battles that I'm certain to lose." Said Jack.
"Do you even think before you speak?" Said Wuya popping out of the engine.
"So where are your robots? Did you program them to run away?" Kimiko joked.
"Look again a weep baby! They have you surrounded. Junk-bots, attack!" Jack cried out summon his bots.
Within moments, robots emerged from the junk. Each robot different from the other, combined with different pieces of broken down furniture and they were heading straight for the monks. Who got into their fighting stances ready for battle.
"Looks like evil doesn't pay as well as it use to." Said Kimiko.
"Don't know whether we should fight them or have ourselves a garage sale." Said Clay.
"We could probably do both if we wanted." Replied Maxine.
The robots gathered round. Piece-by-piece they began attaching themselves together. Ina way the scene was similar to a movie where the small robots come together to form a much larger robot. Which is exactly what happened. The robot moved in a Frankenstein motion with its legs straight all creepy looking and what not. The monks looked up at the thing in shock while Dojo hid in Omi's shirt. As the robot came closer there was only one thing the monks could do.
"Dragon X-Kumei Formation!"
Omi, Kimiko, Raimundo Maxine and Clay braced them for any sudden attacks the robot would make. That was what was suppose to happen but...nobody counted on the extension cord on the robots back to short circuit the it. Collapsing onto the ground, breaking into several pieces; however, thanks to the robots fall the Shen Gong Wu was revealed. Hidden behind an old television on top of a mountain of junk.
"The Fountain of Hui!" Omi cried out with joy.
The monks hurried over to collect the Wu while Wuya gave Jack an ear load of a lecture. The pair flew off while the monks celebrated their victory. Unbeknownst to them, Chase Young was watching from afar with two of his jungle cats.
"The young monks have grown quite strong in a short time. Perhaps it is time they re given a taste of true evil." He said to himself.
~Later that Evening at Jack's House~
"Chase Young! I can't believe its you!" Cried a giddy Jack upon seeing his evil idol. Much to Chase Young's annoyance.
Jack began to offer Chase food and drink only to be met by a tight grip on his hand. The reason Chase came to see Jack was because he had a proportion for the evil boy genius. One that would require two Shen Gong Wu, the Monkey Staff and the Tongue of Saiping. Jack had the Monkey Staff but the monks had the other Wu. Jack told Chase he'd get it for him to not upset the dark lord.
"Why do you need it?" Asked Jack who was quickly grabbed by his shirt collar and hoisted up in the air.
"If it was important for you to know I would have told you." Replied Chase.
Jack got the message and was immediately dropped to the ground. The only thing Chase would tell Jack was he would soon lead his own evil army. Hearing this pleased Jack greatly and he immediately set off to retrieve the Tongue of Saiping.
~Soon at the Xiaolin Temple~
Imagine a peaceful evening where the sky is clear with some clouds floating by like dandelion seeds when you blow. Floating freely through the air thanks to a small breeze passing by. Its a full moon tonight and the weather is just perfect to see it. Crickets are chirping a soft melody and there is peace and quiet throughout the land. Nothing could ruin this moment.
Except the sound of alarms and light going off alerting the monks to the temple entrance to find some Trojan Horse version of Jack looking sad and holding a large fruit basket in hand. With a sign below saying 'Will U Be My Friend?'.
"Does he really think we'd fall for the Trojan Horse routine?" Asked Kimiko.
"Honestly Jackie this is the best you could come up with?" Asked Maxine.
Took all but a few seconds for all five monks to destroy the statue. Only to reveal nothing but a large mess.
"I smell something most rotten in Denville." Said Omi holding a piece of what was left of the statue.
"That's Denmark, and I do too." Said Rai.
"Perhaps we should post a guard to watch over the vault just to be safe." Suggested Maxine.
The monks took off leaving the mess and fruit behind. Unaware that Jack had been hiding inside the banana the whole time. Awaiting for the moment when he could come out and sneak around without anyone being the wiser. Using the Monkey Staff's power, Jack easily leaped inside the temple from the ground. Carefully sneaking around unnoticed by any of the monks as he made his towards the vault.
Omi was keeping guard. Focused on his duty but he suspected something off. It almost felt like someone watching him. Having no idea Jack was close behind him. Literally, Jack was right behind Omi and Omi was none the wiser. Walking around the vault Omi couldn't shake the feeling of someone being in the room with him. Yet whenever he looked behind him no one was there. Omi was starting to feel pressure. Just what was going on? And then he saw it, a large shadow up against the wall. Quickly Omi struck at the shadow only to be knocked back on the floor. This was Jack's chance to grab the Wu while Omi was confused and dizzy.
~Morning at Chase Young's Palace~
It was a bright and sunny new day but even with all the light shining down upon the and, darkness stayed in one area. Chase Young stood outside of his lair near the edge of the cliff. Now that he had the Tongue of Saiping in his grasp, he could put his plan into action. Using the Wu's power, Chase summoned all the monkey's in the jungle to come to his palace. Shockingly all the monkey's who appeared were green and antsy to fight.
"Today I assemble the greatest monkey army of all times in the name of evil. It is the year of the green monkey. Monkey power is strongest now, and the monkey staff most dangerous to whoever uses it." Chase Young explained turning to see Jack using the staff to clean out his ear.
He pulled Jack to attention and told him how the monkey's would obey him when in control of both Wu. Jack decided to test the theory out by doing a couple hand gestures to which the monkey's copied his movements. They even copied his robot dance. This brought tears to Jack's eyes. Not only did he have his own evil army but they would obey him without question. What would that spell out for the monks remained to be seen.
~Back at the Temple in the Vault~
Having discovered a missing Shen Gong Wu, everyone gathered in the vault where Dojo examined the scene of the crime. Upon close examination he determined it was an inside job. Too which Kimiko questioned why someone would go through all that trouble just to steal the Tongue of Saiping. Master Fung came down the stairs to answer the question. Saying how whomever stole the Wu would use it when the time was right and monkey power was at its strongest form. Having finished speaking everyone's attention was drawn to the loud sound of monkey screeching. A monkey screech mixed with an annoying yelp that was coming from outside. Quickly everyone ran out of the vault and outside to see none other than Jack Spicer in the monkey flesh, hanging from a tree branch.
"Well if it isn't our favorite primate." Said Rai.
Jack did a front flip through the air landing on the branch in a fight pose before the monks.
"Not only does he look like a monkey...(sniffs the air, holds back a barf before covering his nose) he smells like one too." Said Omi in disgust.
"Considering its Jack Spicer anything is an improvement." Said Kimiko.
Jack took a sniff of his armpit which unleashed a horrid odor that killed a couple flies.
"Jackie, what the hell happened to you?!" Maxine asked. "You look like a mutant ape man who escaped from a laboratory; or worse, you look like an escaped patient from a mental hospital who hasn't shaved in years."
"Hey, hey easy on the disses." Said Jack jumping off the branch landing a good several feet from the tree. "I'm here to take over. (monkey screech)"
"Oh yeah, you and what army?" Said Rai who didn't sound worry considering this was Jack Spicer he and the others were dealing with.
"I was hoping you'd ask me that." Said Jack snapping his fingers. "Me and my army of monkeys!" On command monkey's popped out from everywhere. Landing on the ground, surrounding Jack, starring at the monks face-to-face. The facial expressions on the monkey's faces were menacing. They were braced to attack. On Jack's cue they did.
"Tongue of Saiping! Monkey's attack!" Jack cried letting out a monkey screech.
From the ground to the roofs of the temple, the monkey's sprung into action. Running towards the monks, full speed ahead. The monks did the same thing. Coming at the monkey's at the same speed. Determination and focus and rage ran through the veins of the monks and the monkey's. As the space began to close Omi was the first to jump forward and launch the first attack. He kicked one monkey back setting off a chain reaction or a bowling reaction.
The monkey's were tough but the monk's held their ground as they fought back. Giving it everything the had against the primate beasts; unfortunately, the monkey's had the upper hand in the battle, ganging up on the monk's, grabbing, clawing and biting at their bodies.
"I haven't seen so much scratching and biting since our last Thanksgiving!" Clay cried out, trying to fend off the monkey's on his body.
"There's too many of them!" Kimiko cried out, getting dragged away by a group of monkey's.
"I don't know how much longer I can hold up!" Maxine cried out. "The one time I'm not wearing any of my gadgets we're overrun by a swarm of monkey's, ah!"
"We are Xiaolin Warrior's and they are mere jungle beasts." Said Omi facing a large wave of monkey's. "Repulse the Monkey!" He cried out moving round fast in a circle sending this powerful push force at the wave. Sending the monkey's back in the dust.
He smiled at himself but his victory was cut short when another wave of monkey's came falling straight at him from above. Had Omi not moved out of the way he would have been crushed. Having no other choice the monk's made a hasty retreat back at the temple. Reaching inside locking the doors right before the monkey's could reach them.
Night soon fell and the monkey's made themselves at home. The temple was surrounded by monkey's from high above the rooftops to low on the ground. Kind of gives one an Alfred Hitchcock vibe from his movie the Bird's if you think about it. Just replace the birds with monkey's. As for Jack he was living the life. Now that he had an entire monkey army and control of the temple nothing would be impossible for him. While the monks were bunkered down inside. Trying to come up with an idea to regain control of the temple.
"Maybe the Fountain of Hui could show us what to do?" Suggested Rai.
"You heard Master Fung without the sister Wu its useless." Said Clay.
"Right now we are useless. We must try something." Said Omi bringing out the Wu, sitting in front of it.
"Hang on Omi, taking on all that information by yourself could be dangerous." Said Maxine. "You need someone else to absorb whatever information the Wu may provide. I volunteer to help."
"Are you sure you wanna do that little lady?" Asked Clay concerned for my well being.
"I can handle it besides I can't let Omi do this by himself. As a wise man once said, there is strength in numbers." Said Maxine taking a seat besides Omi.
Clay gave a small nod before heading over to sit with the others. When everyone was seated Omi and Maxine activated the Wu.
"Fountain of Hui!"
The Wu floated a foot off the ground, unlocking itself, releasing this electrical charge that enclosed around Omi and Maxine. Creating a small barrier around them. At first everything was calm but then two electrical bolts of lightning hit the pair on the head. Maxine took the lightning like a needle to the arm. Shutting her eyes tight, hands clutched into fists as knowledge rushed into her head. Omi on the other hand was having a different experience. His head began to grow at a rapid speed.
"Stand back, he's gonna blow!" Dojo cried out.
Quickly Clay lassoed his rope in the barrier grabbing a hold of Omi then yanking him out. With Omi out the barrier vanished which made the Wu deactivate. Maxine nearly collapsed on the floor had she not caught herself. Kimiko ran over to help Maxine up on her feet while Clay held Omi in his arms. Soon Omi began spitting out all kinds of information while Maxine rubbed her head.
"Looks like Omi's blown a gasket." Said Rai. "How come your not talking crazy like Omi Maxine?"
"I'm not sure, could be because my elemental power's lightning and I already know a lot." She replied. "I'm not saying the Wu didn't work on me because it did. My head is killing me. I've got information buzzing through my brain right now."
Omi continued to spit out useless information that was no use for escaping the monkey's. Although Dojo did jolt down on a notepad about the longest toenail. Unbeknownst to the monks, Jack or the monkey's up on the mountains Chase Young, his jungle cats and Wuya were looking down on the temple.
"Your plan for world domination is brilliant! Especially the part of turning Jack into a monkey. (evil giggle)" Wuya told Chase.
"Anyway its necessary for me to keep the monks occupied. The Eagle Scoop cannot fall into their hands." Said Chase.
"No never! Why not?" Said Wuya.
"With both Shen Gong W they would learn the secret to rid the world of evil, forever."
Morning arrived with things as they were since yesterday. The monkey's were hanging around outside while the monks were locked inside. Watching the monkey's at play. Omi was still spitting out information but not as much and Maxine's headache was dying down.
"Maybe we can use our Shen Gong Wu to get past the monkey's." Suggested Rai.
"Our best Wu is all corralled in the vault. We'll never get to it." Said Clay.
"Looks to me like Jack's lost all interest in Wu." Said Kimiko.
Outside in a large tree monkey Jack was monkey's around.
"Do you think he even remembers he's a human?" Rai asked.
"I know I don't." Kimiko said.
Suddenly, Dojo cried from his pillow shaking and wiggling saying there was a monkey on his back. Raimundo reassured Dojo that it was just a ad dream but Dojo disagreed. He could feel a new Wu about to reveal itself. The one that could help the monks, the Eagle Scoop.
"The Eagle Scoop? That's the sister Wu to the Fountain of Hui." Said Maxine. "Master Fung said when both Wu combine it could unlock the greatest secrets of the universe. The greatest secrets...Secrets...Secrets, that's it!"
"What's it Maxine?" Clay asked.
"Its so obvious! Ugh why didn't I realize it sooner?" Max asked herself shaking her head. "Guys with both the Fountain of Hui and the Eagle Scoop we could unlock the secret to rid the world of evil forever. This is all Chase Young's doing. With us locked up he can get to the Eagle Scoop. That's why Jack attacked us, Chase is using him as a distraction so we can't get to the Wu first."
"Way to use your noggin Maxine." Said an impressed Clay.
"So what you are saying is Jack is a mere puppy?" Asked Omi.
" think you mean puppet Omi." Said Rai.
"Well in a way Omi's right. Jack's got this major obsession over Chase. Going on and on about how great Chase Young is and I wanna impress Chase Young and someday I'll get to work with Chase Young. Blah, blah, blah. Honestly it gets annoying after the first sixty seconds." Maxine explained.
"How can we stop him? As long as monkey Jack's out there we're going nowhere." Kimiko pointed out.
"To beat a monkey one must think like a monkey." Said Maxine with a sly smirk on her face.
And so while Jack was doing several disgusting habits from picking his ears to picking his nose to scratching his butt his attention was soon drawn to a banana thrown at the ground. Jack jumped from the tree and began to eat and follow a trail of bananas towards the bamboo. When he reached the last banana and looked around for more, Maxine slipped the Changing Chopsticks into the banana peel before throwing it to the ground. This caught Jack's attention so he leaped over touching the banana the same time Maxine did.
"Jack I challenge you to a Xiaolin Showdown." Said Maxine.
Jack's reply was a loud screech.
"I wager the Mantas Flip Coin against your Monkey Staff."
Jack began to go ape as did the rest of the monkey's behind Maxine. In the heat of the moment Jack took a banana peel, spit on it and threw it at his sister's head.
"Ugh gross! Jack you are such a slob." "The game is battle of the Monkey Bars. First to fall to the bottom loses."
Jack went twice as ape as before and so did the monkey's. The monks peeked from the corner of the bamboo to see what was happening.
"Let's go, Xiaolin Showdown!"
Within second the scenery changed around them. The bamboo began to grow and shot out in every direction. The small field formed into the shape of a large cube that was lifted in the air. I want to say that the cube was entangled with straight rods of bamboo. Sort of similar to this game where you pull out the sticks without letting the marbles drop to the bottom. That's what the bamboo cube looked like on the inside. Minus the marbles. Maxine and Jack grabbed hold of separate bamboo rods calling out...
"Gong Yei Tempi!"
Cuing the showdown to begin. Maxine used the Mantas Flip coin to jump flip towards the bamboo rod Jack was on; but he quickly dodged, grabbed Maxine by the leg, spun her round, pulled her towards him and...Cue loud painful girlish scream. Maxine was bitten by her own brother, on her butt.
"He bit me! My own brother bit me on the ass!" Maxine cried out rubbing her bottom with one hand while the other was holding a rod.
After Jack bit her he dropped her. Had Max not grabbed onto another rod she would have fallen and lost the showdown.
"Wow monkey Jack came to brawl." Said Clay watching from outside the cube with the others.
As Maxine climbed up to get her balance, Jack started kicking her with his feet. Luckily, she kept a tight grip on the bamboo. Then Jack used his tail to grab her by the waist and fling her across the cube. Maxine went flying into the wall nearly losing her balance and her Wu.
"Hard to believe Monkey Jack can actually put up a better fight then regular Jack can, but its true." Maxine said to herself.
She would have stayed to collect her thoughts if it wasn't for the monkey's reaching their arms in to grab her. Not wanting to stick around Maxine activated the Mantis Flip Coin, flipping through the air straight towards Jack. Returning a kick to his face sending him flying backwards to the other side of the cube. The monks cheered while Jack screeched then jumped back to attack. Jack chased Maxine around on the bamboo but lost track of her when she flipped around thanks to the Mantas Flip Coin.
Hanging round, Maxine got an idea. She asked for a banana then sprung her plan into action. Since Jack was more monkey than human, Maxine could use the banana to distract her brother. She did just that and the plan worked. Jack tried to pull the banana Maxine placed out but couldn't get it out due to his stupidity of not knowing how to turn the object to slide it through. While distracted, Maxine crept up on Jack and did the unthinkable. She returned the favor by biting Jack in the ass. Monkey boy goes ape, looses his balance and falls to the bottom.
" think that move would have worked on Jack even if he wasn't a monkey." Said Kimiko.
The showdown was over and Maxine had won. Her friends congratulated her but there was no time to celebrate. They had to hurry too the Eagle Scoop's location before Chase Young could retrieve it. As everyone ran off Jack came out of the bamboo looking exhausted and confused. It seemed he could not remember the previous events due to being a monkey for so long. Course now that he was human again the monkey's were no longer under his control and attacked Jack.
Time was of the essence as Dojo flew to the location of the Wu somewhere in a forest region. Upon landing everyone rushed through the trees till they reached a clearing and a large rock where the Wu was suppose to be; unfortunately, they were too late.
"We're too late. We blew our chance to rid the world of evil." Said a disappointed Kimiko.
Everyone held their heads down in shame.
"We may have lost the battle but I feel the war has only begun." Said Omi.
Little did the monks know was Chase Young had been watching them from afar thanks to the use of the Eagle Scoop. Wuya chuckled clearly pleased that the monks had failed to stop them, but Chase Young had other things on his mind.
"The fools have lost any chance to defeat us."
"But gained every chance to join us." Said Chase.
"Join us?! That's ridiculous!" Said Wuya till she saw the look on Chase's face changing her answer immediately. "Uh I mean no that's brilliant."
"I speak of two particular monks. As one chapter closes in their lives a new one shall open." Chase told her.
"Who? Which monks?" Wuya asked.
"The chosen ones, the ones who will rule by my side for eternity." That was all Chase Young said as he began to walk off.
Up in the sky Dojo flew through the air back for the temple.
The next day, the monks were in the backyard. Now that the Monkey Staff was in their hands they watched Omi use the Wu to hang upside down on a tree branch using his tail.
"I must say the Monkey Staff is most relaxing. I don't know how I ever managed without a tail before." He said.
"When your done do you think I could have a go? I've always wanted a tail." Said Rai.
"You and me both partner." Said Clay.
"I'm guessing its a boy thing?" Said Kimiko.
"Probably but let them have their fun." Said Maxine.
"Now if you kindly look away I have an urge to scratch n an area I've never scratched before." Said Omi beginning to scratch his arm.
Kimiko and Maxine walked over to the boys who were watching Omi with shock and disgust on their faces. When the girl's tried to see what was happening Clay covered their eyes with his hat and hand. The Dojo closes the curtain and darkness falls.
And that's the end of that chapter~!
Hope you guys liked it!
