Prompt: Candles, Lanterns, Fairy Lights
Pairing: Katsuki & Eri
Katsuki could not believe his luck. He had drawn the short straw and was forced to babysit the brat Eri, who kept pissing him off that she wanted Deku.
"For the last time, kid, Deku could not come and I was selected to babysit you for tonight. So you have to deal with it." Katsuki growled, and he jolted as he saw her face change from fear to sadness, down right to screams of despair.
"O-Oi! Stop crying, it is only for tonight!" Katsuki said quietly, internally panicking about what to do next. He had no clue how to babysit, even after the secondary exam to take care of some toddlers. He had help from others dammit!
"Dammit…what should I do? Wait." Katsuki then remembered Deku giving her a homemade candied apple. Perfect. "H-hey, would you like some sweets? I can make you some."
The result was instant and Eri's eyes were producing tiny stars as Deku makes. "Really? Can you make those apples Deku made me?"
Katsuki smiled and laughed. "I can make them better than Deku's."
So Eri and Katsuki were now in the kitchen, getting the ingredients to make candied apples and the blonde decided to add a little spice to it and carefully added pop rocks to the cooling mixture to coat them immediately before they got exposed to liquid.
"What are these?" Eri said, confused yet entranced at the beautiful colors that were showing through the glassy sugar. "I have never seen these before."
"They are called fizzy rocks, and what they do is when they make contact with your tongue, they crackle like mini explosions." Katsuki replied and released tiny pops in his palms to give an example. "They won't burst like these but it is similar, instead of hurting you they release more flavors. If you had a pop, it is like fizziness but solid."
Eri's eyes widened at the information and looked back at the apples now cooling down, looking forward to trying them when they are ready. "Your Quirk is pretty…" She said suddenly, causing the blonde to jolt and blush suddenly. "They look like fairy lights, can you show me again after this?"
Katsuki swelled with pride as he was being praised for his Quirk, plus the fact that Eri is starting to like him. Babysitting was hard, but he considered this a win in his book. Take that Deku!
"Heh, sure. These candied apples should be ready in another 30, I'd rather get them all done and not waste anything."
Eri nodded and continued watching Katsuki making his second batch of candied apples. She could not wait for the explosion of flavor, and she smiled at the blonde causing him to squirm in affection once again. She giggled, thinking that was cute.
She also could not wait to see more of Katsuki's Fairy Lights.
