A/N: This is the end of the story, although I may do some one shots based off of it. I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it!

"Your mommy loved you so very much," Kelly told five-year-old Allie as he crouched in front of Gabby's grave.

Allie looked over at him with her big brown eyes. "Is Mommy an angel?" she asked her father.

Kelly smiled. "Yes, sweetie. Mommy is an angel. She's up there in heaven with Aunt Shay watching over you every day."

"And you, Daddy?"

"Yes. Mommy keeps Daddy safe when Daddy's at work," Kelly replied.

"And Uncle Matt and Aunt Sylvie and Uncle Joe and Uncle Tony and Uncle Capp and Uncle Herrmann and Uncle Mouch and Uncle Otis and Grandpa Boden?" the dark haired girl inquired, making Kelly smile.

"Yes, them, too," he replied, ruffling her hair. He kissed her cheek. "Now go with Aunt Katie, baby girl."

Katie reached out her hand to the little girl that looked like a miniature Gabby. The girl quickly grabbed it, and together they walked back to the car to wait on Kelly.

"Hi, Gabby," Kelly said, running his hand over the engraving on the headstone. It read Gabriella Dawson, beloved mother, girlfriend, sister, and daughter. Paramedic and Firefighter. Our lives were better because of her presence.

"It's been five years today since you left us. I still miss you every single day. Allie is getting so big; you would adore her. She has a stubborn streak to her, just like you."

"Boden is getting ready to retire soon. It's going to seem strange not having him around anymore. He's been great as Division Chief, but I know he's ready to retire so he can spend more time with Donna and Terrence.

"Matt and Katie finally got engaged; they've set the date for this fall. Allie's going to be the flower girl and she's so excited; it's all she can talk about.

"Sylvie and Mills had their baby. They named her Elizabeth Gabriella, after you and Shay. She's the cutest little thing. She already has Mills wrapped around her little finger. Being a dad has definitely changed Mills; he's started being a lot more careful, which makes my job a lot easier. Now I know how Boden felt when I was squad lieutenant and he was chief.

"Otis and Cruz both got married last month. Their wives have fit in well with the rest of the firehouse family. Donna, Cindy, and Platt have really taken them under their wings and helped them get used to life as a firefighter's wife.

"Mouch and Herrmann are considering expanding Molly's. Otis sold his part to help pay for the wedding, so Herrmann and Mouch are equal partners in it now.

"Allie has Capp completely wrapped around her little finger. He's spoiling her rotten. I'm sure he'll do the same with Mills' daughter. Tony tries to keep him under control, but he's not much better," Kelly laughed.

"Eva and Diego are both in high school now. We don't get to see them nearly as much as we'd like since Laura moved to Indiana. I think she thought it would be easier for the kids to start over in a new place where they didn't have to deal with memories of their dad. They're still taking his death really hard, but it helps them knowing that he died a hero."

Kelly looked up as he heard footsteps. He smiled and stood up as Boden approached, the rest of the Firehouse 51 family following behind. Their family had grown with the addition of Platt four years ago and the more recent additions of Brett and Mills' baby and Joe and Otis's wives, and it would be growing again soon when Katie and Matt got married. While some of them were no longer with 51, they were all still as close as ever. Gabby was the glue that held them all together; every year on the anniversary of her death, they all gathered at her grave to pay their respects and remember the woman who had meant so much to all of them.

Kelly would be forever grateful to them for getting him through the rough first couple of years. There had been several times when Kelly had felt like giving up, but they'd seen him through it. They'd been there for him when, less than a year after Gabby's death, Antonio was killed while working on a case and Kelly had felt like he'd lost a brother. A couple of years later they'd been there for him again when Benny had died of a heart attack. Every single time that Kelly had needed them, they had been there for him because they were a family, and that's what families do.
