On Today's Episode: The spies book it for the King Kamehameha Statue to hopefully stop Kyle from stealing or wrecking it, but when they get there, they're confronted by Kyle's secret weapon, and it's marching towards Iolani Palace with obvious intent. The spies will have to work fast to figure out this weapon's weakness and take it down before Kyle destroys pieces of Hawaiian history...

Act 3: Sentimental Scoundrel

10:21 P.M. – King Kamehameha Statue

The thirteen spies came to a landing after using their Jet Pack Backpacks to get back to where they were originally earlier in the mission.

"Did we make it in time?" Sam wondered.

"Hopefully," Clover commented.

"I think so," Mat deduced, looking around. "The statue's still intact, and the spear's still in its hand."

Everybody looked around.

"Hey, there he is!" Britney proclaimed, pointing upwards.

"Wait, what in the hell is he piloting?!" Melissa chastised.

Kyle was descending from the air in a strange machine that resembled a combination of a gigantic tortoise with a green shell and yellow limbs, along with light blue dragon wings sprouting from the back half of the shell keeping the machine aloft.

"Talk about mismatched," Clover quipped.

"I take it you're surprised, spies?" Kyle sneered.

"Yeah, surprised that you're piloting something that looks as dumb as that," Nick replied, not being intimidated at all.

"Believe us when we say just because you got that hunk o' junk doesn't mean you're guaranteed a win," May stated.

"Oh, you'll be eating your words once you see what my magnificent Vellumental is capable of!" Kyle proclaimed.

"Believe us when we say we're still gonna whoop ya!" Haruka retorted.

"Oh, we'll see about that," Kyle laughed as the Vellumental began a slow march towards the King Kamehameha Statue.

"Oh, I don't think so!" Mat exclaimed, firing a Cyclone Blast Hairdryer towards the Vellumental, only for the blast to seemingly bounce off of the machine's tortoise shell. "...should have figured that wouldn't do much."

Nick made the next move, flying towards the Vellumental, forming a psychic blade on his right hand, and slashing at the machine's shell.

"Crapbaskets, that didn't work, either?!" Nick shouted as he flew away to avoid a strike from the Vellumental's wings.

"Where do we hit this thing if it's too well-protected?" Britney asked.

"I wouldn't even bother, spies," Kyle laughed. "I remembered to build this thing with sturdy armor."

"Have I mentioned that I hate when villains actually learn from their mistakes?" Nozomi groaned. "It makes our job so much harder."

"I'm not throwing in the towel just yet," May proclaimed, summoning her anchor. "Advice for heroes, number twelve: every bad guy's secret weapon has a weakness to exploit, you just have to find it!"

May took off for the Vellumental, weaving around its half-hearted attempts to stomp on her. It was then that May noticed that the tortoise limbs of the machine didn't look as armored as the rest of the machine.

"Hmmm..." May hummed as she decided to test that theory.

"You're just wasting your energy!" Kyle taunted as he turned the Vellumental around to attack, only for May to slam her anchor into the Vellumental's left leg. Confirming her guess, the not-as-armored limb took damage from the swing and stopped the Vellumental in its tracks.

"W-what?!" Kyle gasped. "Work, you stupid thing!"

"Now, everyone!" May shouted. "I think Kyle's gonna need time to get this thing back on its feet, so we should probably use that time wisely!"

"Where do we hit it, then?" Alex wondered.

"Go for the limbs!" May exclaimed. "They're not as armored as everything else!"

With that in mind, the spies went to work, using whatever gadgets they had to attack the Vellumental's limbs in hopes of disabling the machine.

However, before they could do any visible damage, the Vellumental picked itself up and spun around in place like Bowser's up special in Smash Bros., forcing the spies to scatter to avoid getting shredded.

The Vellumental's wings started glowing brightly as it continued its slow march towards the King Kamehameha Statue.

"Um, why are its wings glowing?" Haruka asked as she decided to get away from the machine, only for the wings to unfold and blast Haruka with a bright blue burst of light.

When the light had faded, Haruka had been frozen into an ice cube that started dropping rapidly. Nick quickly made his way over to catch the frozen Haruka in his psychic hold and safely bring her down to the ground.

"You're gonna wish you hadn't done that, freak show!" Nick shouted as he took off towards the Vellumental, blasting its right front leg with a flurry of psychic bolts. This caused the Vellumental to sink down and stop moving.

While Kyle attempted to fix the Vellumental, Nick started flying around it, searching for any vulnerable spot in the machine's shell. Eventually, he did find a spot that wasn't as armored as the rest of its shell and fired a Final Shine Attack into that spot, satisfied to see the blast actually pierce through the armor and cause some decent damage.

For good measure, Nick tossed a couple Incendiary Grenades into the hole he'd blasted in the Vellumental's armor and backed away as they exploded, cracking the tortoise shell in places.

"Don't think you've won yet, you bastards!" Kyle exclaimed as the Vellumental took flight and headed not towards the King Kamehameha Statue...

...but for Iolani Palace instead.

"Wait, he isn't going for the statue anymore?" Sam wondered.

Nick gasped in shock when he realized what exactly Kyle was planning, and took off into the air to head off the Vellumental.

Kyle stopped the Vellumental just above the palace, cackling like a madman the entire time.

"Let's see how you feel when your precious palace and everything in it come out flat as a pancake!" Kyle laughed as the Vellumental dropped downwards like a bullet...

...only to stop about halfway to the palace. Kyle looked downwards and saw that Nick had used his psychic powers to stop the Vellumental in place, even if he was visibly struggling to keep his psychic hold due to how large the Vellumental was.

"Nice trick, buddy, but can you really hold me there forever?" Kyle taunted.

Hate to say it, but he's right, Nick thought. This thing is HEAVY AS HELL. There's no way I can hold it up for much longer, but I'm not going to let him crush the palace!

As Nick struggled to keep his psychic grip going, he heard footsteps nearby him and looked over to see Mat and Melissa landing next to him and firing Cyclone Blast Hairdryers upwards into the underbelly of the Vellumental, which wasn't anywhere near as armored as the rest of it.

Swiftly, the rest of the spies joined Nick in firing whatever projectile gadgets they had at the Vellumental's underbelly in order to push it further and further upwards and away from Iolani Palace.

With the others keeping the machine aloft, Nick relinquished his psychic grip and fired a Final Shine Attack into the Vellumental's underbelly, piercing through the metal and circuitry and causing a few malfunctions in the machine.

Naturally, Kyle flew the Vellumental away from Iolani Palace so he could attempt to make repairs without the spies hounding him, but they chased him down anyways.

"Will you insects just leave me the hell alone?!" Kyle exclaimed.

"Remember what we said earlier, 'Vile Kyle'? Mat proclaimed. "Our job is to squash bothersome insects like you!"

"So why don't you go and suck on that for a change?!" Melissa exclaimed as she and Mat threw Platinum Credit Cards that spun through the air and sliced off the Vellumental's wings.

With nothing left to keep it aloft (the rocket thrusters had been damaged in trying to crush the palace), the Vellumental descended rapidly, eventually crashing into the ocean just outside the city.

Kyle pushed his way out of the cockpit just in time to see the spies all bearing down on him.

"...I can't sweet-talk my way out of this one, can I?" Kyle asked.

"Damn straight," Nick responded before raising his right hand to encase Kyle in a psychic bubble before flicking his hand up to send the bubbled Kyle towards the approaching W.O.O.H.P. chopper.

"Right on time as always, Jer," Alex chuckled.

"Come on, let's go check in," May quipped as the spies flew towards the chopper.

"Another job well done, spies," Jerry commended once the spies had boarded the chopper.

"Thanks, Jer," Sam quipped, but then looked at Mat.

"I know what you're thinking, Sam," Mat replied before Sam could even say another word. "I already told you that visits home will suffice for me, especially now that we're engaged and all that."

Sam felt much better as she and Mat shared a heartfelt kiss.

"I have to say, Mat," Bridget replied. "We definitely concluded your roots run deep."

Everybody else nodded in agreement.

"How'd you know about the lava rocks, Mat?" Melissa wondered.

"As someone who lived here, you learn that at a young age," Mat answered. "Which reminds me... Jer, since Kyle Katz stole a couple of the lava rocks, see to it that he returns them on his own if he wants the bad luck to go away."

"Noted," Jerry replied. "We'll see to it that he does."

Simultaneously, Alex was looking back downward at the last battle scene, and at Hawaii in general since it would be who-knows-how-long that they would come back to her dream destination again. Nick was the first to notice this.

"Hey, this isn't goodbye forever," Nick stated as he walked up to Alex and hugged her. "I'm sure we'll be back soon enough. In fact, I'll make that a promise."

Alex just smiled before she kissed Nick, knowing how he was with promises.

"But I will say one thing, Mat," Haruka stated. "Some of us ARE intrigued on some Hawaiian customs or traditions or whatnot after this mission."

"Totally," Alex added. "I feel like we learned a bunch about Hawaii besides just beaches and warm weather year-round thanks to you."

Sam nodded in agreement as she hugged Mat tightly.

"There's so much to learn about places you've only heard about until you actually visit them," Nozomi chuckled. "That's my favorite part of getting to visit all of these different locations."

"Tell me about it," Bridget replied.

Before Kyle was sent back to the W.O.O.H.P. Containment Facility, Jerry made a pit stop so Kyle could return the lava rocks; Katz groaned and muttered, but he eventually complied.

"Better call yourself lucky after that, buddy boy," Mat told him.

Simultaneously, Nozomi and May shared a high five.

3:03 P.M. – Malibu University

The Spies' Penthouse

After a night's sleep and being taken back to Mali-U, Mat was preparing for the next round of the 2009 Supercross season – Indianapolis' brand-new Lucas Oil Stadium. Everybody chose to watch with him, and Mat was certainly hoping that things would be different. What WAS different was that 2004 winner and Indiana native Mike LaRocco designed the Indianapolis track.

The Lites broadcast was beginning first; calling the race were the usual team of Ralph Sheheen, Jeff Emig, and pit reporter Erin Bates.

"I tell you, Pourcel has been looking like he hasn't missed a beat at all," Mat told the others.

"He raced here before?" May wondered.

"Yes, he won the 2007 Phoenix Lites race before going back to Europe after A-2," Mat answered.

"That's one tough Frenchman, that's for sure," Nick replied as the others saw a rundown of Pourcel's injuries. It included a cracked tibia, broken sacrum, dislocated shoulder, and a broken collarbone.

"Ouch," Nick quipped.

"All that and he's still truckin'?" May stated. "Man, that's pretty hardcore."

The first Lites heat race began with a crash between KTM's Martin Davalos #577 and Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Austin Stroupe #981 after the completion of the first lap. A second replay showed another crash between GEICO Powersports Honda's Blake Wharton #61, which was a bad one.

As a matter of fact, almost ten guys had fallen down in just the first heat race of the night.

"This is what they should do more often," Mat commented when he'd heard the track was designed by Mike LaRocco.

"What's that?" Bridget wondered.

"Have some retired racers design the tracks," Mat clarified.

At the end of the first heat race, Stroupe fought back for 5th place, and Davalos barely qualified for the main in the 9th and final transfer spot. The winner... KTM's Wil Hahn #50.

Heat #2 went to Suzuki sophomore Nico Izzi #20 after a brief battle with Honda privateer and rookie Vince Friese #719. Points leader Pourcel finished 4th, but he turned the fastest lap time with a 50.449.

"Looks like you're going to get what you wished for on the East, Sam," Melissa commented.

"Oh, definitely," Sam responded.

The main was just minutes away from starting.

"I think I'm gonna go with Pourcel," May stated. "Mister Iron Man, hehehe."

"Yeah, same here," Nick responded.

"Pourcel," Melissa concluded. "You, Mat?"

"Hard not to bet against Pourcel," Mat stated. "I'm picking Pourcel, too."

The gate dropped, but right away, things happened.

Ralph: Oh, and a HUGE PILEUP!

"Wo-ow!" Mat chastised, almost speechless. Almost ten riders were down in the first turn!

"Talk about an oof," Haruka sighed.

"Right out of the gate, too," Bridget quipped.

"This seems like it's gonna be a fun one," Dawn chuckled.

Jeff; And it's Stroupe AND his teammate Pourcel were down...

"What was I saying?" Melissa chastised.

Most of the riders had cleared out as a replay came up.

Jeff: Davalos and a couple of riders there, but look at the green rider – Pourcel's there first... and it's... Durham that gets hooked up and takes the whole field...

"That's the BIGGEST pileup I can remember," Mat commented.

As the replay went away, Suzuki's Izzi had the lead, but unfortunately, a red flag had come out, much to Izzi's dismay.

"I'd hate to hear what's coming out of Izzi's mouth right now," Mat chuckled.

"Probably a lot of words you can't say on live television," Nick responded.

"We've all been there, I'm sure," Alex giggled.

On the re-start, both Pourcel and Stroupe ran 1 and 2. Izzi started out 6th after the re-start. Running in 3rd was British import Steven Clarke on his #77 Suzuki – without a front number plate. On lap 3, Stroupe got around Pourcel to lead the way.

Ralph: Well, one of the riders who had a problem in this one was Martin Davalos. Let's check in with Erin Bates.

Erin: Well, guys, not only was it Martin, a bunch of those riders involved in that first turn pileup; when I spoke with John Gallagher from the FIM and found why they red-flagged the race, so many riders were down in the first corner that they thought there was no way possible to clean out that whole bunch of carnage; so, what they did – they red-flagged it – restarted it; Nico Izzi is obviously upset because half the riders – if not more – were already cleared out by the time he was about to come around.

Jeff: Yeah, that was a questionable call, Erin...

"I can't help but feel sorry for Izzi," Nick groaned.

"I'll say," Haruka quipped.

On lap 7, KTM's Davalos was already reported out of the race; according to him, his bike was too destroyed to make the re-start; Star Yamaha's Durham also did not return for the re-start after that bad crash in the first turn.

"If that's not bad luck, I don't know what is," Alex chastised.

Pro Circuit's Stroupe led the way and eventually took his first win of the 2009 season. Pourcel finished 2nd, and Izzi finished a frustrating 3rd. The heartbreak story came on the last lap when Star Yamaha's Matt Lemoine #41 crashed on the last lap while running 4th and battling with Izzi for 3rd; Lemoine was credited with 8th.

"I know you're happy, Sam," Mat laughed.

"Mm-hmm," Sam giggled.

In the overall points standings, Pourcel was still the leader by 10 points now over Izzi, 72-62, and Stroupe was now 3rd with 57.

"Your take, Mat?" Dawn wondered.

"I think Pourcel just rode smart for being sick, supposedly," Mat deduced.

"Geez," Blaine commented. "If that's what the Lites class gave us, I'm wondering if the 450cc class will be similar..."

"I hope it's Chad Reed winning his first race of the season," Mat groaned.

The Supercross class broadcast started with snippets of San Manuel Yamaha's James Stewart's 7-race win streak. Mat just shook his head in disbelief at how long a wait it had been for Suzuki's Chad Reed to win his first race of the 2009 season.

Honda's Davi Millsaps #18 took the first heat race in a 3-rider fight with Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto #2, and Reed's Suzuki teammate Mike Alessi #800, with GEICO Powersports Honda's Kevin Windham #14 a ways back.

"Man, talk about a showdown," Blaine stated.

"They're definitely fighting for that lead!" Clover exclaimed.

Yamaha's Stewart easily took heat #2 after a brief battle with Suzuki's Reed – even after Reed passed him after the whoops, which excited Mat.

"Looks like you might have something to look forward to, Mat," Britney replied.

"I'll say," Clover added.

"I sure hope so," Mat replied as the main was just about to begin.

Jeff: They're gonna have to beat James Stewart through the first turn – his starts this year have been awesome! He has been out of the gate with so much determination and desire. That's why he's been winning the races.

Ralph: HERE WE GO FROM INDY!

After the gate dropped, Mat gasped at what he saw.

Ralph: AND GUESS WHAT – CHAD REED BEATS HIM! CHAD REED WITH THE EARLY LEAD – HE GETS THE HOLESHOT! STEWART'S IN 3RD!

"Atta boy, Reedy!" Mat cheered.

Lucky thing we don't have the lava rocks then, Nick thought at what just happened.

Just before the end of the first lap, Reed's Suzuki teammate Mike Alessi managed to briefly pass James Stewart for 2nd, but Stewart countered back and recovered 2nd place before the end of the first lap. Kevin Windham also got by Alessi for 3rd.

Jeff: THREE SUZUKIS IN THE TOP 5 AS MICHAEL BYRNE COMES ACROSS THE FIRST LAP IN 5TH!

Mat was still grinning after finding out this was the first lap Reed had led since the Anaheim 1 opener.

Ralph: ...it's a long-time coming – took all the way to ROUND NUMBER NINE!

Leading the first lap certainly paid off for Chad Reed, and lap 3 was the beginning of definitive proof.

Ralph: JAMES STEWART IS DOWN! HE'S BACK UP! HE'S ON HIS BIKE! HE'S DROPPED TO 4TH BEHIND WINDHAM AND ALESSI – MAKE IT 5TH!

To say that Mat was enjoying what he saw was an understatement as a replay came up.

Jeff: Watch as he comes into the turn – grabs a handful of front brake, loses traction on both tires! That's what I was talking about, Ralph – IS THAT PRESSURE?! Is that pressure with Chad Reed out there gonna force James to lose his concentration and overcompensate? NOW the pressure's on!

Ralph: Jeff, I was right the first time – that's actually 4th!

Stewart managed to muscle by Alessi before the end of the 3rd lap.

"This could be the one, Mat," May chuckled.

Jeff: And, Ralph, hit me with Stewart's stat...

Ralph: He crashes, he loses the— he doesn't win... if he doesn't crash, he wins every time.

Jeff: 100% of the time...

"For your sake, I hope it's the one, too, Mat," Britney quipped.

On lap 5, Stewart had gotten around Windham for 2nd place, but on that same lap, he hit a tuffblock, which got everyone's nerves racing.

"Oh, crapbaskets," May gasped.

"I concur," Nozomi replied.

Mat was still grinning widely at Stewart's bobble as a replay came up. Windham had no choice but to ride over the tuffblock, but he did not crash!

Jeff: ...And I'll tell ya, that is just a roll of the dice! You have no idea what's going to happen once you hit those tuffblocks – sometimes you get over them clean, sometimes you go flying off the bike.

At the end of lap 6, Reed held a 6.3 second lead, and Stewart bobbled two more times – once in the whoops, and in the sand section for the second time. Everybody jumped in their seats at both bobbles, and Mat just continued to enjoy what he was seeing.

"Oh, Stewart's getting antsy," Haruka chuckled.

On lap 9, Honda's Andrew Short was battling Mike Alessi for 3rd, but his main event was ruined when he came to a stop for some reason.

"Uh oh..." Mat chastised.

It turned out it was a small rock wedged in-between the rear brake pedal and the engine casing.

"It's always the little things that mess you up in the end, huh?" Dawn quipped.

"Oh, tell me about it," Bridget replied.

It took Short about twenty to thirty seconds to get going again, and he eventually went a lap down by Chad Reed.

"Oh, I think this is what Chad Reed meant when he said last week at Atlanta that he knew what James Stewart's weakness was," Mat deduced.

That was when Stewart bobbled again on lap 11 as he was gaining on Chad Reed for his 8th straight win of 2009. Simultaneously, Mat was starting to worry that Reed would have to wait another week to win as Reed was slowing up slightly due to lap traffic.

"Uh oh, I thought Reed had clear sailing!" Blaine chastised.

On lap 13, Stewart got around Reed, much to Mat's dismay.

Ralph: NEW LEADER IN INDIANAPOLIS! JAMES STEWART – ALL THE MISTAKES, THE CRASH – NONE OF IT MATTERS... HE'S BACK OUT IN FRONT IN THE CIRCLE CITY!

Jeff: That is just an incredible effort by James Stewart and how many times did we see him almost come off the bike...

Mat groaned in frustration as Reed tried to show him a wheel before the end of the lap.

"Oh no..." Sam chastised, starting to feel for Mat as there was less than 6 laps remaining.

Ralph: A 49.2 by James Stewart – the fastest lap of the night... and it goes to the #7 San Manuel Yamaha!

Jeff: And Reed that last lap around was a 51.4 – wow, that's a 2-second difference...

"Don't tell us Mat's gotta wait AGAIN!?" Melissa chastised.

Reed was still keeping Stewart in sight, but just before the end of lap 15, Stewart crashed for the second time, much to Mat's delight. He had missed a berm before the FINISH line jump and fell over.

Ralph: UNBELIEVABLE – AND REED IS BACK IN THE LEAD WITH FOUR TO GO!

To say that Mat was overjoyed at this sudden turn of events was an understatement.

Jeff: WOW, WHAT INCREDIBLE ENERGY HERE – LUCAS OIL STADIUM HOSTING THEIR FIRST SUPERCROSS EVENT! THIS STADIUM HAS NOT LET IT DONE. THANK YOU, MIKE LaROCCO! YOU HAVE PUT TOGETHER A GREAT TRACK DESIGN!

Ralph: JAMES STEWART, TWICE, JEFF IS FACE DOWN IN THE DIRT! HE BOUNCED BACK THE LAST TIME AND GOT THE LEAD BACK! CAN HE DO IT NOW WITH THREE AND A HALF TO GO? And I got to point out, Chad Reed has been telling you and I all season long: I know James Stewart's weakness, I just need to catch him to pressure him to make it happen. Was that it – do you think?

Jeff: It was the pressure there. When Stewart got by, Chad Reed did not back off. He gave it everything that he had to make sure he was right there...

"I was thinking that was his weakness, too," Mat replied with a nervous laugh, knowing the race was not over just yet.

"If that's not luck, I don't know what is," Bridget commented.

Sam, Melissa, and Britney all held Mat as the white flag came out. Fortunately, Reed was not threatened by Stewart.

Ralph: And don't forget – Chad Reed won the last race in the RCA Dome, and he is on his way to the first win in Lucas Oil Stadium! CHAD REED WINS HIS FIRST RACE OF 2009!

Mat had a gigantic grin on his face that Chad Reed FINALLY WON his first race of the 2009 season, and even had a sigh of relief, too. He even shared hugs with Sam, Britney, and Melissa.

The 8-race win streak by Yamaha was finally snapped (Grant 1, Stewart 7).

"Told ya Reed was gonna pull it off!" Melissa exclaimed as she hugged Mat.

"Never expected anything less, honestly!" May laughed.

As a replay of the start came up, Mat was grinning at the holeshot Reed got.

Jeff: And I tell ya – week after week it comes down to the start, and look here - #1, our reigning champion gets the Progressive holeshot – that is what changed the whole scenario here tonight! Stewart was not in front of Reed after the first lap!

The final results had Reed, Stewart, and Mike Alessi as the top 3; Mat was still excited as Reed's winner interview came up.

Chad Reed: ...He rode awesome, and I just tried to stick to him. I rode like crap out front; as soon as I got in behind him, I rode a little better, but, man... hats off to all the guys at Rockstar Makita Suzuki – they've been so patient with me, and, I just feel like I've been not pulling through and James has been riding great. No excuses on my part; everyone's been saying "Get that start and you'll have a shot!" We killed the holeshot... gotta be in it to win it – that's my saying this week.

Mat had chuckled at Chad saying he "rode like crap out front."

Erin: You have said before that it all comes down to the start, and if you did get that start, you know how to play on James' weakness... did you do that this evening and what did you do differently about your start?

Chad: That's what Ralph said. For me, it's all about going and riding my race and riding the way that I know how I can, and I know I got a shot at it if I can. Like I said, James has been riding solid and I just don't feel like I've been twisting the throttle enough, and tonight was a lot of fun – the track was real challenging. I didn't want to be in the back tonight – I wanted that holeshot and go out front!

Mat was still grinning widely that first win for Chad Reed was finally out of the way... after 8 races, mind you.

Ralph: ...and LOOK AT THE POINTS!

Chad Reed and James Stewart were TIED for the points lead at 199 each with Daytona next!

Jeff: Mmm... I like that dash there!

"Me too," Mat replied as he still held Sam.

Sam was still chuckling inside at how excited her fiancée was, but she couldn't blame him since she did support him.

In all the hoopla, May, Haruka, and Bridget checked the time and realized something else...

"OH! Water Polo practice is in twenty minutes!" Haruka replied in shock.

"Well, what are we waiting for, ladies?" May proclaimed. "Let's motor!"

With that, Haruka, Bridget and May all sped off to make their way to water polo practice. Nick decided to tag along just in case the team needed him to cover anything for the newspaper.

On the way there, however, he noticed a flash of green cat ears hopping around a decent distance from Mali-U. Remembering what had happened back in Hawaii, Nick excused himself to go find out if Momo knew anything about that.

When Nick made sure he was out of sight, he floated upwards before taking off into the sky, following Momo's path until he eventually caught up with her on the top of a skyscraper.

"I keep forgetting you can fly," Momo giggled.

"Benefits of psychic powers," Nick chuckled. "But as to why I followed you, there's something I wanted to ask you about. While we were in Hawaii, we ran into another alien like you, with the green cat ears and everything. But this one was actively hostile to us and actually tried to shoot us full of laser holes until we got him to back off. Is that guy from your people or something?"

Nick didn't really need an answer to that question, as the shocked look on Momo's face told him everything he needed to know.

"...I guess it was only a matter of time until dad sent the cavalry to find me," Momo sighed.

"You mentioned 'family drama' earlier," Nick quipped.

"Well, let's just say that my dad is... overprotective and stubborn," Momo admitted. "He wanted me to be something I'm not, we had an argument, and while he thought I was holed up in my room, I just up and left our home planet instead."

"And I'm guessing that he finally figured out that you're not home?" Nick wondered.

"If the guy you ran into had cat ears like mine, then I'm pretty sure about it," Momo responded. "And I'm also pretty confident that it won't be much longer until more of them start showing up looking for me."

Momo reached behind her and pulled out a small device that resembled a communicator. "You can use this to contact me directly," Momo explained. "If you ever run into any other aliens like me, or Zorth forbid, my father, let me know, okay?"

Nick just nodded as he stuffed the communicator into his pocket.

And as Momo hopped away from the skyscraper and Nick took off to return to Mali-U, he couldn't help but ponder on what Momo had told him.

Her father definitely sounds like one of those typical overprotective fathers, Nick thought. But given we're talking about an alien race here... if he finds out Momo's here, exactly how far would he go to bring Momo home, even if she doesn't want to go home?

Having seen more than his fair share of cheesy b-movies about alien invasions, Nick already had a pretty good idea.

He just hoped it wouldn't come to that.

Totally Spies: Sentimental Showdown

~The End~

Final Author's Notes from Mat49324: Well, that's another one completed. I certainly hope you got some lessons learned about the state of Hawaii and not just beaches and warm weather year-round. I'm sure The Blue Time Ranger got a history lesson or two, and learned a thing or two about Hawaiian culture, landmarks, and treasures. As an interesting note, I actually was part of a tour group of the Iolani Palace as an assignment for college back in 2019. I'll also say that this project came as per an inspiration from an old show called Baywatch Hawaii in an episode called Dream Girl. I'm sure you can find that episode on Dailymotion (I did). Anyway, we hope you liked this one and that you'll tune in for our next project, which will be on The Blue Time Ranger's page, which will be titled Memory's Echoes. For now, here's The Blue Time Ranger for his final thoughts.

Final Author's Notes from The Blue Time Ranger: And that's all she wrote! It was fun learning a lot about Hawaiian landmarks and treasures from someone who clearly knows the state better than I do, lol. And we even learn a little more about Momo's reasons for being on Earth. There's more than just that, though, but any more and I'd be spoiling before it's ready.

Anyways, with that out of the way, let's talk about the next episode of Totally Spies: The New Adventures! It's time for another Jellyfish Pirates adventure, but this one's gonna be something different. Did anyone remember that Johnny had a girlfriend before Millia got her hands on him? Welp, guess who's back and rocking the complete wrong impression of the matter? Make sure not to miss all of the juicy drama next time on Memory's Echoes, which will be posted by me. So, until next time, have a fantastic day, don't listen to the screeching morons, enjoy this preview of Memory's Echoes, and we'll see you next mission!

-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-

She looked around as she entered the city limits, reminiscing on the time she'd spent here before moving away. It honestly felt like it had been forever, despite it really only being a few years.

Jam couldn't help but smile at the thought of seeing Johnny again.

As she thanked the taxi driver for the ride, she started walking through her old neighborhood, noting that things really hadn't changed all that much despite how long it had been.

Jam looked down at her phone, wondering if she should believe that strange story she'd heard a while ago about someone "attempting to convert the Skywhirl Tower into a space shuttle".

She'd heard some very outlandish stories in her life, true, but that one was a serious contender for the cake.

It looked like this one had been put here fairly recently as well.

And when Jam leaned over to see what was inscribed on it...

...she felt her heart shatter into pieces.

Johnny's name was inscribed on that gravestone.

All at once, multiple thoughts ran through Jam's head, all of them wondering just who was responsible for this...

...until her racing mind finally settled on what she was going to do.
