Gina and EJ were in high school. This takes place in season 2. (there will be time skips in this fic, just because I want to.) Gina was practicing the dance routine for Carlos's quitneria.

She was focused on the routine and whispering the lyrics to herself "It's time to turn it up

Let the music take over your body

And dance like everyone is watchin'"

She was so focused she didn't notice EJ watching from the side of the theater. He walked up to her. "Are you writing a song?'

Gina turned around. "Hey. No this is a closed rehearsal i'm sorry but you'll have to leave." she teased a hint of a smile on her lips.

EJ grinned. Things had been getting pretty serious with them over the past few weeks, very flirty.

EJ liked it, he was pretty sure Gina liked it too. He came up to her, they were very close now inches apart. "Mr. Caswell is my father. You'll have to find something else to call me." he whispered Gina grinned and looked up at him. "I guess I'll have to think of something." EJ thought for a moment that she would kiss him, but at the last second she turned away focused back on her work.

EJ smiled he had no idea if they would become anything more but for now he liked flirting and hanging out with his best friend. "It's a surprise for Carlos." Gina said "youre a realy great friend for doing that." EJ said "how do you- dance like that?"

Gina smiled "I just do. I've danced ever sense I can remember. My mom used to say that I danced before I walked."

EJ smiled "I believe it. You dance like you walk on clouds. How did you start?"

"OOf. That's a loaded question." Gina looked at EJ her best friend who she flirted with sometimes, he would do anything for her and she him. Yes she decided, she coud trust him.

Gina sat down on the lip of the stage, EJ sat down next to her. "A lot of things at my house, go left unsaid, so I would take whatever I was feeling and dance though it." Gina said truthfully.

"I get it." EJ said "we all have our baggage, that's why I took up water polo."

Gina gave him a knowing look. "Ok I took up water polo for my dad. But I play basketball for fun just because it helps me get though my life."

Gina took his hand. "I'm sorry about your dad. He puts so much pressure on you.."

"So does your mom." EJ pointed out

"Yeah I know, she just wants me to be the best I can be."

"I just want my dad to be proud of me." EJ sighed Gina took his hand and helped him up. "You know what? We need to dance."

"What? G. I can't dance… i'm awful." EJ said "I don't dance in front of people.. It's not pretty." Gina grinned "C'mon Eej. I'll help you."

"Ok. where do I start?" Gina smiled at him. "Let's start with a two person dance because I know you don't feel comfortable dancing by yourself yet."

"The easytist dance is.. A waltz." Gina blushed "oh wow." EJ said "ok."

"C'mere."

Gina put some slow music on and she showed him where to position his hands. "We kind of just move to the music.." Gina said

"This is really nice." EJ smiled Gina looked into his eyes. "It is?"

"I feel safe with you G. Like I can tell you anything. I love that about you."

Love. "I love that- about you too." Gina smiled they were dancing closer together now, pretty much hugging at this point. Without any warning Gina dipped him EJ wasn't ready and he almost fell. GIna lost her balance and she fell on top of him. "You should have warned me!" EJ laughed Gina snorted. EJ laughed "I love that you snort when you laugh"

"You do?" Gina smiled

"Hell yeah, it's cute." EJ smiled

Gina grinned "I think.. You're cute." Gina blushed EJ looked at her.

Gina froze had she said the wrong thing?

Thankfully EJ smiled "I think you're cute too."
