Gina and EJ were in the doctor's office. EJ's leg was shaking. "You nervous?" Gina asked "a little yeah." Gina put a hand on his leg to steady it and stop it from shaking. "I am too. Whatever happens, we have each other." EJ took her hand and kissed it. The doctor came in. The couple took a deep breath at the same time. "Hey guys. EJ, Gina we have the results of the tests and samples we got from you." the doctor sat down.

"Everything looks great i'm happy to say." EJ and Gina looked at each other confused. "We've been trying for a baby for two years now.. How can everything be fine? I still haven't been able to get pregnant yet." Gina said tears came to her eyes fairly easily. EJ noticed and squeezed her hand. "Is there anything we can do?" EJ asked "you guys are doing everything you can, sometimes it just takes couples longer to get pregnant than others. I wouldn't give up hope yet, sometimes it just takes time."

EJ and Gina were at home. Gina picked up her phone. "It's my mom." Gina walked into the kitchen. "Hey mom. Yeah we just got back.. Everything is fine the doctor said." EJ was standing in the doorway, and suddenly Gina's tone shifted

"yes we're doing everything we can! I can't believe you would- I'm emotional?! I have to go. Bye mom." Gina put hwer phone down on the counter. "Did your mom just…" EJ asked in disbelief "she told me to try harder. You know my mom 'just keep pushing' I lover her so much but.."

"That's really messed up G." EJ said putting his arms around her. "Everything fine.. But we still can't get pregnant" Gina was crying now, EJ was too. "I know, this really sucks."

A few years later…

"Hey G." EJ stepped into the house. Gina was sitting on the couch knitting. "Hey babe!"

"You're home early.. Is everything ok?" Gina shrugged

"Aw" EJ sat down next to her. "I got you something" EJ pulled out flowers behind his back. Gina broke into a grin "EJ! You got me flowers. How did you know Iris are my favorite flower?" EJ grinned "C'mon babe we've been married for six years, I think I know you by now. I know you've been feeling pretty crappy lately so I figured I might cheer you up."

Gina kissed him on the check. "You are the sweetest." EJ looked at the knitting project in her hands. "What are you making?"

"A blanket"

EJ looked at the small bit that she had knit so far. "You've got a long way to go. This is tiny."

"I think… it's finished actually." EJ looked at the blanket it was a nice butter yellow color. "G this is tiny who could possibly-

"Remember when we thought I had the flu? I went to the doctor today"

EJ tried really hard not to get his hopes up. "Gina.. What are you saying- does this mean?"

"It's not the flu. It's morning sickness. I took like five tests today and the doctor confirmed it.."

"So you're-" EJ smiled

Gina put her hands on her flat stomach "I'm pregnant."

The couple looked at each other both disbelieving the words, as if it was to good to be true.

"How far along?"

"Three weeks. I'm pregnant Eej. I'm really pregnant." Gina smiled EJ smiled so wide "Oh my god." he hugged her tight "oh G." Gina hugged him back they were both crying. "Five years of trying. I thought we would never.." EJ trailed off too emotional to speak "I know. Me too."

"I can't believe this is happening" EJ smiled at his wife and put a hand on her flat stomach. Gina squeezed his hand "we're going to be parents"

The couple pressed their foreheads together and looked into each other's eyes. "I love you G."

"I love you too Eej."
