"What's happening?" Gina asked looking at EJ who looked just as confused and worried as she was. "I don't know."
"The baby's heart rate is dropping, we need to do an emergency C-section."
Gina felt her heart drop. EJ looked at her and squeezed her hand.
The next thing she knew Gina was being wheeled into a new room where the C-section would take place. "Ok Gina we're gonna need to numb up your back ok? Just so you don't feel anything during the procedure." the doctor said Gina looked back at the needle "wow that's huge! You know I think I'm good.. I probably don't need it."
EJ could tell Gina was freaking out. "Baby this has to happen."
"I really don't want a C-section. This wasn't how it was supposed to go!"
"I know." EJ said taking her hands. "We had all these plans but sometimes plans have a way of changing, right?"
Gina nodded then looked back.
"G. Don't look at the needle look at me." Gina looked at him. "Eyes on me. Want to hear a song I wrote in high school?"
"Ok"

The needle went in Gina's back. She gripped EJ's hands. "That's a really stupid song" Gina smiled and wiped a tear out of her eye.
"But it made you smile didn't it?' EJ grinned
"It did" Gina laughed
Gina was getting ready for the C-scetion EJ was waiting outside the door to come in. Ashlyn found him. "Hey is everything-
"What are you- How did you get back here?"
"I had a feeling you needed me."
"The baby's heart rate is dropping, Gina has to have a C-section." EJ broke down crying, Ashlyn hugged him tears filled her eyes.
"I think I should- It's probably time.." EJ trailed off
"Ok."
Ashlyn hugged him one more time and went out to the waiting room, she called her husband and told him to come over as soon as he could, then she made some other calls.
Soon Big Red was there carrying a sleeping Harper. "Hey babe." Big Red Kissed her on the check. "Hi Biggie"
"She's been out since 8:00 pm."
"Aw. Can I take her?"
Big Red smiled "of course."
Big Red genity handed the sleeping six year old to his wife. Harper noticed the moment and woke up a little. "Mommy?"
Ashlyn smiled "hi baby."
"What's happening?"
"It's nothing for you to worry about kiddo. Go back to sleep ok?"
"Ok. I love you."
"I love you too" Ashlyn kissed her on the forehead, within seconds the six year old was asleep.
"So is everyone-
"Everyone should be coming, I let them all know, Even Mr. Mazzra and Miss Jenn."
Back in the room, Gina was just about to go into surgery. "I'm so scared." Gina wispered EJ took her hand "me too."
Gina looked at her husband. "EJ, If anything happens-
"Nothing is going to happen"
Gina was crying now. "If anything happens I love you"
"I love you too" EJ was crying now too. The couple kissed each other like their lives depended on it after a few seconds they pulled away. "Ok we're making the first insistion now." Thankful there was a curtain by Gina's head so she didn't have to see anything, EJ quickly looked and regretted it. He hated blood and seeing his wife's stomach get cut open only made it worse. Gina coulden't feel anything thank goodness, she was crying she was so sacred, EJ took her hand and squeezed it, he was crying too.
Back in the waiting room, everyone showed up even if they had to take a plane ride to get there. "Any news?" Ricky asked they were the last of the gang to arrive. Everyone shook their heads no.
"What now?" Carlos asked "we can't just sit here in silence it will drive us all crazy"
"We do what we always do. We sing." Miss Jenn said
"Ok but softy the kids are sleeping" Kortney said

Back in the room the sugary took about 30 minutes, the crying of a baby filled the room. "Is the baby ok?' EJ asked "the baby's perfectly healthy. It's a girl." the doctor said
Gina and EJ smiled and starting crying in relief. They had wanted this for so long and now they were parents. "I told you." EJ smiled "it's a girl!"
Gina laughed, she was so exhausted the doctors were still stitching her back up. Exhaustion and adrenaline crashed over her in waves. "You can go to sleep G it's ok." EJ smiled Gina squeezed his hand and fell asleep within seconds. The doctor handed EJ the baby he held her to his chest, she was tiny but very much alive. "Hi sweetheart. You gave us a scare for a second there kiddo."
Gina was sleeping off the surgery, EJ was holding her hand. "You're the bravest person ever G. I'm gonna be right here when you wake up." he whispered.
The baby started to cry. EJ carefully picked her up and held her to his chest so he could do skin to skin contact with her, the doctor said it was very important for babies to get that right after they were born. "It's ok. Daddy's here. See that beautiful person over there? That's mommy." EJ looked at the newborn and gently kissed her on the forehead. "I love you so much."
Gina slowly opened her eyes. "Am I alive?' Gina asked in a whisper EJ looked at her, tears came to his eyes in relief. "Yes, you're alive babe."
Gina took his hand and squeezed it. "I love you"
Those three words completely undid EJ, he started crying Gina was crying too. He hugged her, she hugged him back. EJ looked at her put a hand on her face as if to make sure she was real. "You could have died."
"But I didn't" Gina said through her tears. They pressed there foreheads together and sighed in relief.
"By the way someone's excited to meet you" EJ smiled carefully putting the baby on Gina's chest. The baby was crying. "Hey you, It's ok baby girl. I'm your mom." Gina smiled at EJ "she's so beautiful"
"Of course she is, she looks just like you." EJ replied the baby opened her eyes and looked right at Gina, they were blue. "she has your eyes" Gina grinned
"What do you want to name her?" EJ asked
"What do you think of the name Skylar?"
"Skylar. That's cute."
"What about her middle name?" Gina asked
"How do you feel about rose?"
"Skylar Rose. I love it." Gina smiled "she's ok?"
"Perfeclty heathy. 2 pounds 5 ounces. The doctors said they might have you stay a few days just to keep an eye on you and the baby."
"Ok. Your staying here too right?"
EJ smiled "you can't get rid of me that easily. I'll be right back I have to tell Ash you had the baby."
EJ went out to the waiting room, only accepting Ashyln to be there and seeing everyone asleep in the waiting room was a bit of a shock. "Guys? What are you all?"
Everyone woke up. "I called everyone." Ashlyn said "you guys came down all the way here for us?"
"We're family." Nini said "when one of us calls we come running." Seb added
"You know what Gina said the hardest part of being pregnant was?" EJ asked
"Morning sickness?" Ashlyn said
"Back pain?" Kortney said
"Labor?' Nini said
"Nope. She said the hardest thing was no being able to dance." EJ smiled "she never complained."
"So?" Carlos asked everyone was on edge waiting to hear the news. "Gina just woke up, she's gonna stay here for a few days with the baby so the doctors can keep an eye on her. But she and the baby are doing great. Her name is Skylar Rose Caswell Porter."
Everyone was so relieved and happy they all broke into a big group hug of tears and laughter. "I love you guys, I can't believe you're all here."
"We love you too." The gang said
"G." EJ said coming back into her room. "You won't believe who's here."
"Who?"
"Everyone."
"Everyone?" Gina asked as if on cue all the wildcats came in the room. Gina's eyes filled with tears. "Oh my gosh! You guys are all here, I can't believe it. You guys have to keep it down, she's sleeping."
Ashlyn was the first one to come up to her, her eyes filled with tears. "I promised myself I wouldn't cry." Gina laughed and hugged her Ashlyn hugged her back. Everyone hugged Gina and EJ and got to hold the baby. EJ of course filmed everything and took tons of pictures. Miss Jenn decided to take a group picture "ok everyone say Wildcats!'
"Willdcats!"
"Perfect! We got everyone." Miss Jenn smiled then looked at the baby. "Welcome to the family kiddo."
