{ In the Other's Eyes }

Suu comfortably sat on the wheelchair Kayblis made for her, grateful that she doesn't have to exhaustingly move as much as she usually should.

She took a sip on the warm tea that was on the table, albeit with some physical difficulty.

"Miss Suu, I have been wondering; What would Eikoln Town and us would be like if Chief Kayblis wasn't the one to lead us? No, it's not like I doubt him, I swear." One of her assistants, named Den asked, in which she immediately went into a conclusion.

"Eikoln and everyone here would not exist. Us Lis Humans would not exist too because the dragons have killed the said chief before it was born." She replied calmly, glancing at the Lis doing what they liked doing outside through an open window.

"I see." Her assistant muttered, glancing up towards her.

"What made you say that conclusion?"

"Papa said it vaguely, yet I was able to connect the dots."

'... Most of us Lis wanted to be like him, and thus she was born from the desire of a mother to want a child that is as smart as Chief Kayblis.' Den thought, before taking a few sips from the warm cup of tea using both his small hands.

"Our break would last for only a minute more, Miss Suu."

The gifted researcher only nodded, putting down the cup gently and fixing her small clothing.

For her, Kayblis was the perfect leader, and aside from that, he almost always had a grin on his face as he instructs and teaches several Lis to do their jobs in a way that he sounds more like a father nurturing and teaching his children until they grow up.

When she realized this, her mouth opened, before closing in half a second.

'... As expected of father...'

Nurturing and teaching just young Lis, huh? That is a completely narrow point of view, as all Lis grew up being nurtured by Kayblis, that also means that everything that was happening recently was just Kayblis nurturing the town into something bigger, and Eikoln and it's entirety were simply the children that he was nurturing.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, then focused on the tasks at hand.

"Let's proceed."

Lock dodged a few strikes from Kayblis, before retaliating with a few quick swipes with the wooden pole on his hands.

Kayblis simply parried every strike the Lis Human with his wooden sword, careful not to swing too fast and too hard, using a lot of willpower to do so.

He saw an opening, and went for it by closing the distance between him and Lock, before knocking him down to the ground with a kick.

"There's still room for improvement. Also, here's where our training ends, kiddo." He said, pointing his wooden sword towards the Lis Human, before pulling him up.

This Lis Human was someone who really does admire him the most, wishing to be like him.

He wasn't sure if he could become some sort of antagonist in the future, so he had to be careful what to do with Lock.

"Chief, can I really become as strong as you in the future?" He asked, slightly exhausted from the sparring session recently.

Kayblis sighed, and slowly shook his head sideways. Because Lock does not know what this meant, he had to speak up.

"Sadly, no." He dropped the bomb, knowing that Lock is still many leagues below him.

"B-But..." Lock muttered, shaking his head just before Kayblis grabbed his shoulders.

"The only but here is that being strong doesn't really just come from strength. I'll just say that you're already strong, and with your friends by your side, being together makes you all at your strongest."

After saying this, he turned around and proceeded to walk away to do what he needs to do right now.

Lock looked at Kayblis' back, unsure what to say.

Friendship, huh?

"Lock, is something wrong?" Someone asked beside Lock.

"Oh, Navi. I'm fine, nothing else happened but being reminded by chief that I have friends after we sparred." He replied, smiling at her.

"So, you want to explore the forest even more?"

Navi turned towards FOREST, before glancing at Lock.

"Let's just don't get too far, else we get lost."

"Don't worry, I have a trick up my sleeve."

Everything was fine in Eikoln Town, well at least for now.

After all, trouble is about to approach it.
