"So, just so I'm clear. The reason you want them to fight is to observe their fighting form and skills?" asked Naruto.
Currently, Naruto, Sakura, Tsunade, Shizune, Wendy and Lapis were walking through a wooded area of the village in the direction of a training ground where fighting could take place without spectators around.
"That's right. It's one thing to hear about their skills orally, it's another to see them in person." said Tsunade.
"Is it some kind of test?" asked Wendy.
"Yes, it is. In the ninja villages, ninjas are categorized into ranks such as Genin, Chunin, Jounin, ANBU and Kage." said Tsunade.
"Since you are new to the Hidden Leaf Village, you would start as Genin, which is the lowest rank in the ranking." said Sakura.
"As long as I can get money, I don't care what rank I am." said Lapis.
"Here we are." said Tsunade just as the six arrived at the training ground where the two dragon slayers would have their little test.
"Shall we start already?" asked Lapis.
"Not yet. There's still someone to come." said Tsunade.
"Who?" asked Wendy.
"I."
Wendy let out a small cry of surprise as she turned around to see that, behind her, a gray-haired man had appeared with a band covering his left eye and a mask covering him from nose to mouth.
That was Kakashi Hatake, one of the strongest ninja in the village, former teacher of the team that Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura formed, and another of the people who fought alongside Naruto against Kaguya in the final battle.
"Hello everyone." said Kakashi.
"Kakashi-sensei, what are you doing here?" asked Sakura surprised to see her teacher.
"Shizune informed me, and I came to watch the test personally. I would have been here earlier, but I was a little late." said Kakashi.
"You're always late somehow." said Naruto remembering how many times the copycat ninja was very late for meetings because of his tardiness.
At that moment, Kakashi turned his gaze to the two dragon slayers, making Wendy feel a bit nervous.
"So you're the ones who came from another world. I'm Kakashi Hatake, nice to meet you." said Kakashi introducing himself politely.
"I-it's a pleasure to meet you, sir." said Wendy bowing by way of greeting while Lapis looked away with a frown.
"No formalities. You can call me Kakashi or Kakashi-sensei if you prefer." said Kakashi.
Wendy couldn't help but smile at how friendly the copycat ninja was.
"Well, now that we're all here, we can get started." said Tsunade.
Soon after, Wendy and Lapis were on either side of the field, preparing for the fight.
"Just so you know, I don't plan to hold back at any time." said Lapis.
"Sounds good to me. I won't hold back either." said Wendy before holding out her hands on either side. "Vernier! Arms! Armor!" shouted Wendy before she was enveloped in a green aura, much to the surprise of the other dragon slayer and the spectating ninjas.
Tsunade knew that the only way to find out what she did was through that test.
"Begin!" exclaimed Tsunade announcing the start of the fight.
In the next instant, Lapis' fingers were covered with water.
"I don't know what you did before, but you won't be able to handle this. Water Dragon's Bullets!" shouted Lapis throwing, with a wave of her hand, bullets made of water.
Wendy started to move from side to side to dodge the incoming bullets, but then, one of them managed to graze her cheek, making a small cut.
"They're as fast as I am." thought Wendy determined to change strategy.
After dodging all the bullets, she quickly darted towards her while Lapis did the same.
While Wendy covered her leg in wind, Lapis covered hers with water.
"Sky… / Water…" the two shouted in unison as they directed their leg towards each other. "Dragon's Claw! / Dragon's Tail!" the two shouted in tandem as both attacks collided with each other, causing a wave of wind.
The spectating ninja felt the wind wave and were in shock at how the fight was going.
"I didn't know they were so strong." said Sakura.
"Despite being so young, they have a lot of power inside them." said Kakashi.
"Unbelievable! I don't know who to cheer for." said Naruto enjoying the fight.
Both dragon slayers continued to push each other until they ended up pushing each other and sliding across the ground to a stop.
"I still won't give up! Water Dragon's Wave!" shouted Lapis extending her hands towards her, causing a water wave to surge up behind her and head towards the sky dragon slayer.
"I won't give up either! Sky Dragon's Wing Attack!" shouted Wendy shooting a pair of whirlwinds from her arms using them to hit the wave, destroying it in the process.
But then, just as the wave vanished...
"Water Dragon's Roar!" shouted Lapis shooting a huge jet of water from her mouth that hit Wendy directly before she could react.
By the time the attack broke up, Wendy could be seen soaking wet, but still standing and breathing a little heavily.
Before anyone could say anything, Wendy puffed out her cheeks.
"Sky Dragon's Roar!" shouted Wendy shooting a tornado out of her mouth that was heading straight for the other dragon slayer.
The tornado was so fast that it ended up hitting her before she could do anything.
By the time the attack dissipated, Lapis could be seen with some wounds caused by the attack, but standing and breathing a bit heavily.
"It's time to end this!" said Lapis.
"Sounds good to me!" said Wendy.
The two dragon slayers lunged towards each other as they went about covering their fists with wind and water.
"Sky Dragon's… / Water Dragon's…" they both started in unison and when they both got close enough... "Crushing Fang!" they both shouted at the same time as their fists connected with each other's face.
That caused them both to be sent backwards and fall to the ground.
"Wendy!" exclaimed Naruto running towards her. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, don't worry. This is nothing." said Wendy sitting down on the ground.
It was then that she noticed Lapis was sitting up as well and quickly rushed to her side.
"Are you okay, Lapis?" asked Wendy with concern.
"What does it look like to you?" asked Lapis.
"Wait, I'll heal you quickly." said Wendy before placing her hands on the other dragon slayer's body.
It was then that her hands began to glow and, to everyone's surprise, the wounds and marks on Lapis' body were disappearing.
"She's..." began Sakura in shock.
"Healing her wounds." finished Tsunade being in shock.
By the time she finished the healing process, Wendy's hands stopped glowing and she looked at the water dragon slayer with a smile.
"Are you feeling better?" asked Wendy.
Lapis looked at her body for a moment before moving it a little and looking at the sky dragon slayer.
"Y-Yes, I feel better." said Lapis surprised that she could heal her.
"Okay, would you mind explaining what that was about just now?" asked Tsunade.
"Also, before the fight, you did something to your body, right?" asked Sakura.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, I guess I forgot to say that." said Wendy with a nervous smile as she rubbed the back of her neck. "You see, what I used before the fight was support magic. It allows me to increase strength, speed, and stamina, both my own and someone else's."
"A technique that can strengthen people's physical abilities. That's a very interesting ability." thought Kakashi.
"And what I've used before was healing magic, which allows me to heal injuries and illnesses." said Wendy.
"Impressive. With some training, I could be a better doctor than anyone." thought Sakura.
"Anyway, I guess that's it. The match ends in a draw." said Tsunade as the two dragon slayers stood up.
"So, what happens at the end with the test?" asked Lapis.
Tsunade gave them a smile before stretching out a hand towards them. Directing their gaze to the hand, they saw that it held two bands with a badge bearing the village symbol.
They each took one band and looked at it curiously before turning their gaze to the Hokage for answers.
"Congratulations, Wendy Marvell and Lapis Universe. As of now, you are official ninjas of the Hidden Leaf Village." said Tsunade.
The two girls were taken aback before a big smile formed on Wendy's face.
"Yes! We did it!" exclaimed Wendy giving the water dragon slayer a hug who was surprised by that.
"Let go of me! I don't want hugs!" exclaimed Lapis pulling the sky dragon slayer away from her.
Suddenly, she felt a hand land on her head and caress it, looking to the side, she saw that it was Naruto's thing giving her a toothy grin.
"Well done, girls. I knew you could. I hope you wear that band with pride now." said Naruto.
Wendy looked at her ninja band before looking at her guild symbol. She may have been a Fairy Tail mage, but if she wanted to return to her world with her friends, she had to follow the rules of the world she was in.
So, from now on, she wasn't only a Fairy Tail mage, but also a Leaf ninja.
Wendy placed the sash around her forehead and after that, she turned to give the Hokage a determined expression.
"Thank you very much for this, Miss Tsunade. I won't let you down." said Wendy.
"I guess I won't either." said Lapis having put the band on her left arm.
"Very well. I expect a lot from you two." began Tsunade before turning and leaving along with Shizune and Kakashi. "Naruto, Sakura, take care of them. I'll let you know if there are any missions."
By the time the older ones left, only Naruto, Sakura, Wendy, and Lapis were left in the area.
"So, what do we do now?" asked Lapis.
"How about we give you a tour of the village?" asked Naruto.
"Good idea, if you're going to be here for a while, you'll have to know the place so that way, you won't get lost." said Sakura agreeing with her partner's idea.
"Sounds good to me." said Wendy excited to know the place.
Meanwhile, Tsunade, Shizune and Kakashi continued on their way and, when they were far enough away from the youngsters, they decided to have a personal talk.
"Well, what do you think of them?" asked Tsunade.
"I may have only known them for a short time, but I can say that they are more powerful than I imagined and that they are as young as Naruto was when he started to become a Genin. If they keep training, it's very possible that when they become adults, they will be as powerful as Naruto and Sasuke." said Kakashi remembering how strong they were when they fought Kaguya.
"Makes me wonder what kind of dangers they went through in their world." said Shizune.
"Surely they were big enough to make them reach that level." said Kakashi.
"Once again, I'm glad that we are now in a time of peace." commented Tsunade.
AN: Do you know why I chose that particular magic for Lapis? Well, it turns out that, originally, Wendy was meant to be the water dragon slayer, but they changed it and since this story was about Wendy and an OC, what better magic than the one that was taken away from her back in the day, eh?
