Alright! So, we're moving on as per usual. This next chapter will contain more of Jolyne training Gundham in the arts of Ice magic, as well as other things. But, enough spoiler talk, time to respond to some reviews/comments!
[Response to reviews/comments]
(Qoutev) Taco Sensei: Well, how else is Whitesnake going to level up before the next arc? Sadly, animals must die for the protagonist's gain. It is a sad reality, but one that cannot be avoided.
(Qoutev) Akuji says Happy Halloween: Once again with the name change. Something tells me this is going to be a running trend, isn't it? Anywho, yeah… poor animals. Oh well. As I said, Whitesnake has to level up somehow while Jolyne is asleep or busy doing something else (Training Gundham). Who cares if a few birds or snakes go missing?
(Ao3) Cookiesndip: Thank you for leaving a review on BOTH FF and Ao3, but I think I'll respond to the Ao3 side of things, just for symmetry, lol. The main love interest, huh? Well, I like your little theory/suggestion as to whom it should be. I don't want to outright give it away, but you're pretty much on the nose. I won't say much more than that, though. Also, I'm glad to find someone who is a person of culture as well. A fellow "I'm Who Now?!" fan is a hard thing to come across. Well, not really, but you get what I mean.
(Ao3) TheSevenStars: Well, it is rather successful in getting the point across. Especially considering Rantaro watched it punch a hole through a bear's head. If that thing threatened me to shut up about its existence, I would listen to every word it told me.
Onxio: Yeah, I get what you mean. Although… Chihiro… hmm…. jk, he's a pure bean who shouldn't be corrupted by Jolyne…. Unless?
Kolt999: Not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting you to go super theory analyze mode! But, I like the speculation. Izuru will be a character that shows up in this story, and will play an extremely important role in the coming future. Once the plot starts to build up to a point where I am satisfied with the progression, things will be kicking into high gear! And yes, do expect some Izuru/Jolyne moments, I concur that they do make a great power couple in a purely platonic sense, seeing as Izuru doesn't care much for love or romance. As for Nagito and his stupid Ultimate Luck "magic" bullshit…. Yeah, what you said sums it up. I may or may not have something in mind for that later in this arc….
Well, that pretty much sums it up for responses. Not as much as last time, though It hasn't been a month, lol. So, without any more daddling, let's hop right into this, shall we?

[Natsumi Kuzuryu]
"Alright, you should be good to go, Kuzuryu-san. All you have to do is take this pain medication every few hours, and eventually, the hip and back pain should go away. If there are any other problems resulting from any future back pain, please give us a call," the chipper voice belonging to the receptionist at Tokyo's general hospital spoke to Natsumi, who tried her best to feign a smile.
"Thank you," Natsumi replied as she took the medicine bottle full of pain pills from the countertop, shoved it into her black jean's side pocket, then stalked out of the hospital with a sense of urgency. She had places to be, and the less time she spent her time at the hospital, the better. She was using a cane to walk due to the mounting pain from her hip and back, and what made it worse was the suit she was wearing was a bit tight around her waist and lower back, making the pain just that much worse.
If there was one thing that Natsumi hated among most other things, it would have to be wearing restrictive clothing. For instance, a black pinstripe suit that she was now forced to wear.
Why was she forced to wear it? Simple. Her brother had just passed away and it was time for a funeral. Early in the morning, Fuyuhiko passed away from complications resulting from internal bleeding. And with him being in a coma, and having died during the middle of surgery, Natsumi didn't get a chance to say goodbye.
And it was all that stupid gaijin's fault. If there was one thing Natsumi was extremely good at doing, it was holding grudges. And with her now being the defacto heir to the Kuzuryu Clan, nothing short of the world freezing over would make her stop her hunt for that pink and black-haired cunt.
Because of her, everything was thrown out of wack. In-fighting about what to do with her was causing massive rifts in the clan. There was a side that wanted nothing to do with the mage, for very, very obvious reasons. And then there was the side that wanted revenge for what happened to their boss's son, and Natsumi's older by 1-year brother.
If things kept up the way they did, a divide would happen, and if the Kuzuryu Clan split up, then that would no longer make it the country's strongest, most feared Yakuza. The Kuzuryu Clan was terrifying because of it being as big as it was. If half the clan separated, then all her family's work to become the strongest clan in Japan would crumble away into nothing.
And it was all. Because. Of. That. Fucking Gaijin.
As of right now, there would be nothing more pleasing to her than wiping that stupid bitches face off of the face of the Earth with extreme prejudice. But, there was just one small issue with that.
The Gaijin had supernatural powers. Natsumi did not. Not only that, but she apparently survived getting shot multiple times in the chest and even in the head, and shrugged it off as if it were nothing. So assassination attempts were just not something she was going to be able to do. The only thing that might've been able to kill the Gaijin would be a military-grade rocket launcher.
Well, that was hyperbole, but it was pretty spot-on. So, she had to improvise. After sitting around in the hospital for well over a month, Natsumi had done some reading into the world of the paranormal, as well as the world of magic.
Most of it was a bunch of bullshit. A majority of what she found browsing the internet talked about stuff from fantasy books. She was going to give up until she came across a Reddit thread saying something about meditation unlocking one's Mana Reserve. She didn't buy it for even a moment, but she tried it out just to see what happened.
And after two weeks of straight meditation, something… interesting happened.
"Well, if you can't beat'em, join'em." Natsumi thought, looking down at the palm of her hand as a black circle with ruins along the ends appeared floating just above her palm. A small smile made itself known on her face as the ruin disappeared.
Now. Now they'd be on equal footing. It took her a while, but after meditating for two weeks along with focusing on her quote-on-quote "mana reserves", she was able to summon basic ruins from her palms and eject black weapons out of them with ease. 'Course, it was draining doing it more than once, but she'd get better with time.
After all, according to her mother and father, Fuyuhiko's former class was out camping for the week. That meant she had a week to prepare to kill the black and pink-haired gaijin. And with that amount of time, she believed she'd be ready to take her down.
"You'll rue the day you messed with the Kuzuryu Clan, Jolyne Brooks. Your days are numbered."
[Jolyne Brooks]
Deep within the forest of Wakusa National Park's camping ground, for your average fisherman hanging out in the forest near the river, today had been… interesting to say the least. It was the middle of spring, and the fish were plentiful. It was around 23 degrees outside, with minimal cloud cover.
So, when a lone fisherman spotted chunks of ice floating down the river, they had to do a double-check, before running away in hysterics screaming how the world is coming to an end. From a far distance, Jolyne saw all of that and snickered to herself. Seeing people freak out like that was kind of funny to her. It always had been, and it always will be.
Composing herself, she looked over to her student, then frowned as Gundham blew out a breath of annoyance and frustration.
"Again," Jolyne stated flatly as Gundham placed the palm of his hand back over the running river, flash-freezing a good chunk of it, only for the ice to break and for Gundham to frown. "Again," Jolyne commanded, Gundham doing as he was told, though his teeth had been grit, and his forehead collecting sweat.
The animal enthusiast had just finished an 8-hour long meditation session while Jolyne had Whitesnake wander the forest, killing any wild animals in a 25-meter radius from them. She had set Whitesnake on a 10-hour timer, just like last night, seeing as it worked so well the last time. But, that was not important. Gundham's progress was more important to her than anything else at the moment.
Due to his meditation, he had increased his Mana pool by over 1000%, giving him 100 mana to work with. It was kind of shocking just how fast the former chunibyo had been progressing. The guy was a prodigy, even more so than her; and she had crazy System Powers to back her up. If this kept up, she could get him to learn Icicle Spears by the end of the day.
"Witch, must we do this on repeat?" Gundham questioned as Jolyne hummed, before deadpanning at the Ultimate Animal Breeder, making him flinch.
"Well, this is to strengthen the power and deadliness of your ice. By now, you could probably flash-freeze a good portion of a stale lake. But, that is about it. By the end of the day, if you cannot flash freeze a good portion of this river, and have the ice not shatter instantly, then I'll cease helping you with this. You'll need my guidance if you want to become a better mage. Besides, this will help make your ice stronger, and more fitting of someone who wishes to be called an Overlord of Ice." As Jolyne explained that, Gundham furrowed his eyebrows.
"Deadlier? Are we not the only mages on this forsaken plain? Why would I need to make my Ice stronger if I were not to fight other mortals?" Gundham asked, standing up to his full height and looking away from the running rapids.
"You're quite naïve if that's what you think," Jolyne spat, crossing her arms. "We might have magic, Gundham, but bullets still harm us. That's not to mention that there are other mages. Not a lot, but still more than just us. I might be The Ultimate Mage, but that doesn't mean there aren't more of me out there. I just happen to be able to learn spells and master them faster than most others. Hell, I can form my soul into a physical being to do my dirty work for me. Most mages, like yourself, cannot. And while they are few and far between, when a mage comes across another mage, a fight tends to break out. You know, kinda like Sith Lords from Star Wars?" Jolyne said though a majority of that was a lie.
She had only been assuming that there were other mages in the world and that she and Gundham weren't the only ones. Recently, and by recently she meant the moment she woke up in this strange neck of the universe, Jolyne had gotten a weird sensation in the air. Almost like there had been magic in it, and it was all wafting off of her and more recently, Gundham.
This meant that magic stemmed from the air and that at some point other people would've had to have tapped into it. Of course, there seemed to be an unlimited supply of the stuff. Which meant that was plenty to go around for other, more nasty people than herself.
And if that were the case… well, it only gave her more of a reason to make Gundham stronger, but not so strong that he could beat her. That would be pointless.
"Ah… I see. So, in case of a fight between another Mage and myself, I should be practicing to become deadlier with my magic?" Gundham said, a sly smirk on his face. And then, he started to laugh. "GWHAHAHAHAHA! Fear me, puny mortals! Gundham Tanaka, The Overlord of Ice, fueled by the teachings of the Goddess of Darkness, commander of all Witches and Warlocks, shall destroy you all!"
"Goddess of Darkness…? I mean, go off, I guess?" Jolyne thought as she smiled. "Alright, Gundham, enough, get back to it. We'll do this for another hour or so, then we'll meet up with everyone else for some food. No doubt Teruteru has something planned."
As Jolyne said that, a text box appeared in her right peripheral as she motioned for Gundham to do as he was told, which he did without hesitation. Turning away from Gundham, she read what had appeared, her eyes widening at what she saw.
[Hit List – Part 3]
Description: With Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu dying of his injuries, Natsumi Kuzuryu is now on a warpath for your head! Not so bad, right? Think again! Natsumi has found out about the world of magic and has begun to train with it to take you down, for good. Your best option? Kill her before she gets more powerful than you are!
Quest: Trackdown and Kill Natsumi Kuzuryu (BOSS FIGHT – DIFFICULTY: ?) before she can do the same to you! [Completion Criteria: Drop her health down to 0]
Rewards: 30,000 EXP (Shared with Whitesnake), 5 Gacha Tokens, 500,000 Yen, 50 Karma (Evil)
"I thought I was done with those Yakuza shmucks?! Well, at least Fuyuhiko is dead. But that doesn't change the fact that Natsumi has fucking magic." Jolyne thought, gritting her teeth as she dismissed the text box. She couldn't do anything about Natsumi yet. She'd have to wait until she got back to Hopes Peak, and hopefully after she saved those kids.
"And I have to deal with Nagito here…. Fuck! Can't you just give me a damn break Daimen!"
"No, because it's entertaining. Now stop bitching and entertain me."
Jolyne clasped the side of her head as she shuttered. That was the first time Daimen had spoken to her since he saved her ass nearly a month ago. "I guess he just didn't want to hear me bitch, whatever…" the dual-haired mage thought as she looked over to Gundham, who looked to be focusing really hard on the water.
He raised his hand up past his shoulder, then slammed his hand against the running water. In the blink of an eye, that part of the water froze over. One second passed. Two seconds passed, followed by a third, a fourth, and then a fifth. After another ten seconds, the ice shattered, and a victorious smile appeared on Gundham's face!
"HAHAHAHAHA! FEAR ME, MORTALS!" Gundham laughed as Jolyne smirked. The dual-haired teen walked over to him as the two high-fived. The look of delight in his eyes was almost precious. Like a puppy looking for adoration.
"You did good, Gundham. Let's take a break and go get some food," Jolyne said as Gundham nodded, adopting a more serious expression again. The two left the river, and walked down the path, all the while Jolyne thought about the quest she was given.
"As of right now, my priorities are Gundham, kicking Nagito's teeth in, those kids, then the Yakuza. I'm far stronger than I was when I fought Fuyuhiko's assassins. No upstart mage is going to catch me off guard with some sort of stupid power that'll probably have by the end of my Quest with Gundham. Although…. I shouldn't get too cocky. I know nothing of what Natsumi can do. She might actually be dangerous if I don't deal with her sooner or later…. God, I wish Whitesnake could move more freely. I still got another hour and a half to wait before it comes back. Hopefully, it gets to the double dig—"
[Whitesnake has returned early due to being defeated by – Three Black Bears]
"Oh… Well, let's see the results. Also… three back bears!? What the fuck!? Good God, I'm glad I didn't feel any of that. I would've died if I could feel Whitesnake's pain…"
[Whitesnake has been gone for 8 hrs and 30 minutes. Here are the results!]
[Murder Hornet Hive: 1 – 1,800 Exp]
[Rabbits killed: 7 – 250 Exp each]
[Gray Wolves killed: 4 – 1,000 Exp each]
[Inscets killed: 38 – 5 Exp each]
[Birds killed: 40 – 50 Exp each]
[Bear cub: 1 – 750 Exp]
[Total Exp equated to – 10,490 Exp]
[Whitesnake has levelled up to Lv. 14! Whitesnake needs 430 Exp till the next level up! Whitesnake has 5 skill points you can use!]
At this point, Jolyne wasn't going to question how the hell Whitesnake was able to kill 4 gray wolves. The bear cub probably didn't deserve it, and the three other bears got what they wanted by killing Whitesnake, but the point still stood doing this during the day seemed like a good idea. More animals were roaming the woods, meaning she could get more exp. Plus, it was already level 14. If she kept this up, she could get it to level 25 in no time.
She just wished she got to see even a portion of that Exp. The skill tree for Whitesnake opened up as she used her eyes to advance to the next hexagon until she couldn't anymore.
[Destructive Power 2: Increases the amount of damage Whitesnake can do using attacks! – Cost: 2 Sp]
[Durability 2: Increases Whitesnake's durability! – Cost: 3 Sp]
"Not much, but better than having only level 1 of both. If I had to guess, next up is going to be increased attack speed and longer camouflage. That seems to be a pattern. Of course, I have yet to expand the vision of its skill tree, so for all, I know there could be more past this stuff that I'm not even noticing."
As Jolyne thought that, the pair got to the main camp area where Mahiru waved them down upon seeing them. "Hey! Brooks-san! Tanaka-kun! Over here!" As Mahiru shouted out to them, Jolyne smirked, walking over to the tents, picnic basket as well as her classmates. She took an empty spot next to Ibuki, who smiled at her. Teruteru handed her a piping hot plate of rice curry once she sat down, to which she silently thanked the chef, who smiled before passing more food around to the others.
General conversation was made while Jolyne ate her food. She wasn't going to lie, despite the fact she wasn't the biggest fan of curry, Teruteru made her question her former opinions on the dish after trying his version of it. It was jam-packed full of flavour, and the rice helped balance out the overwhelming flavours of the curry sauce that had been generously plopped on top of the grain. It was by far the best-tasting curry she had ever had. If it weren't for the fact that she harboured no romantic feelings towards the chef, she would've kissed him! it was just that good!
[Good Meal perk activated: 200 Exp awarded!]
"Neat!" Jolyne thought as she looked around the group of people whom she was surrounded by. Laughter. Smiles. Bonds. It was all a cesspit of joy and hope. While that made her feel a bit awkward, Jolyne didn't mind it all that much.
The class had a tight-knit bond, that much was for sure. In all honesty, she felt like an invader, a parasite almost. She had even killed one of their classmates not too long ago in the form of Fuyuhiko. Once the others found out, she predicted that a majority of the class would probably hate her.
But then again, when had she ever let someone's opinions of her get her down? The last time that happened was when she was still living as her past self at the age of 5 when some brat made fun of her for her appearance.
"Whatever. Who cares? The guy was a total dick-head anyway. Plus he tried to kill me, so now I really don't care!"
Just then, thanks to a tap on her shoulder, she was roused out of her thoughts when Ibuki Mioda's face was just inches away from her own, making the Canadian mage nearly fall backward in surprise. "So, Ibuki wants to know where you two have been! You were sneaking off to the forest like a bunch of mischievous teens just a handful of hours ago!" Ibuki said as Gundham smirked.
"You mortals would not even begin to comprehend what we were doing. We were—"
"Probably kissing in the bushes," a voice belonging to Kazuichi Soda interrupted, a sly smirk on the pink-haired sharp-toothed teen's face as Gundham's cheeks flushed red with embarrassment and his voice raised with indignation.
"Why would I, the GREAT Gundham Tanaka! Want anything to do with the witch romantically!? She is merely my teacher and I am her humble student! Tremble at the might of Tanaka, The Overlord of Ice!" Gundham shouted as he gripped Kazuichi by the collar of his bright blue mechanic suit. Kazuichi shouted like a crybaby as Jolyne shook her head.
"Ugh… honestly, how immature can they get?" The redhead to her right chided, before turning her attention to Jolyne. "But seriously, what were you two doing?" Mahiru asked as the mage smirked. She pondered over it for just a few seconds, weighing the pros and cons of having Gundham show off, before completely disregarding that in favour of what their reactions would be.
And so, she held up her pointer finger toward Mahiru indicating for her to wait just a second, then stood up, cupping her hands around her mouth, watching as Gundham, from over 10 feet away, violently shook Kazuichi. While the sight was hilarious, she decided to call out to him anyway.
"Oi, Gundham, give them a glimpse of what I've been teaching you!" Jolyne called out as Gundham dropped Kazuichi to the ground, who rubbed around his neck with a look of annoyance pointed at the Ultimate Animal Breeder.
Gundham looked over to Jolyne, then over to everyone else. There was a scoff in the crowd, though Jolyne didn't even have to look at who it was to know damn well that it was that obnoxious asshole named Nagito, which made her grit her teeth.
"Teach him? What could you, a worthless, fake Ultimate—"
Jolyne glared at him with a fury unlike any other, which got him to shut up if the clamped jaw and narrowed eyes were anything to go off of. She turned her attention back to Gundham, then nodded. He was in the clear, which allowed the Ultimate Animal Breeder to smile maniacally as he turned to his left, which gave the class a side view of what he was about to do.
"Of course! BEHOLD! THE TRUE MIGHT OF THE OVERLORD OF ICE!" Gundham shouted at the top of his lungs, reeling his right arm back as a blue light covered his palm. Several pairs of eyes widened at what they saw, though it was only just the beginning. With a simple thrust of his arm, Gundham then proceeded to coat nearly fifty metres of the grassy plains in front of him in a thick sheet of ice.
There was a moment of silence shared by everyone, wide eyes, dropped jaws, and in the case of one Jolyne Brooks, a proud smile. Gundham looked over to Jolyne, laughing uproariously as the dual-haired teen gave him a thumbs up. She then turned to Mahiru, then gestured to the massive sheet of ice. "That. That is what I have been doing. Teaching Gundham how to properly use the magical talent that was deep within him. I hope this answers your question, Koizumi-san."
Still more silence. Jolyne observed the faces of everyone, and none were more mortified than Nagito, who went even paler than he normally was. "Take that you cancerous piece of shit. Not a talent my ass!" Jolyne thought, scoffing.
And then, in came the reactions.
"What the hell?!"
"Did he just use magic!?"
"Did you all see that?! That looked totally amaze-balls!"
"Wow…!"
"O-Oh my! He just used Magic, just like Brooks-san!"
"Hey! Can I learn that stuff too?!"
Jolyne felt a wave of pride wash over her as she stood up, walked over to the ice sheet, lifted a foot upward then stomped down upon it, shattering the entire thing. She could tell that it was stronger than what it had been yesterday. Of course, that was a given seeing as he had been training it over running rapids for the better half of the day and had more Mana to work with than yesterday.
But getting this close to inspect the ice allowed her to look over it in more detail. The ice was overall stronger looking and thicker than before, which was a no-brainer. It was also less clear than it was yesterday, meaning it had more substance to it than what it had before, which was also a good sign. It also wasn't melting right away, which was even better.
Regardless, it wasn't strong enough to hold back any amount of physical power that Jolyne could produce. It was still good, though, especially for a beginner mage like Gundham.
"Look at me, analyzing things as if I know more than basic surface knowledge on it! Ha! That INT stat increase really did do something! Wicked!" Jolyne thought as she looked over to the Ultimate Animal Breeder, as well as her student. "Nice work, Gundham. But I still have more to teach you. Now that you can create stronger ice, we can move on to something else. Get something to eat and take a break, you deserved it," Jolyne said as Gundham nodded.
When the Ultimate Animal Breeder went back to the group, he was bombarded with questions. Jolyne sighed, a smile on her face as she watched Class 77 – B talk to her student about some things that Gundham clearly didn't know about, but answered regardless with his manic showman-like smile.
If she had to guess, about half an hour had passed. The excitement had died down, as the conversations returned to their normal. Kazuichi was apologizing to Gundham about earlier, which was probably more or less done in an act to save his ass. Gundham seemingly accepted it, seeing as they were now just generally talking about things.
Most of the girls were sitting with one another, drinking tea together, courtesy of Sonia. A part of her wanted to join, but once again, that imposter complex that she had a feeling came from Nagito's confrontation with her came in again, so she decided to just leave them alone for now. She was content to just be left alone. That was until….
"Brooks-san!" A voice over to her left called out to her as Jolyne glanced in that direction. It was Chisa, who had been walking up to her with a smile on her face. When she approached, the young woman looked happy, with a smile with hope-filled eyes glimmering like stars. Jolyne shivered on the inside. Once again, the look of Hope on her face made Jolyne feel a little queasy. She kept it to herself and forced a genuine smile on her face.
"Yukizome-Sensei, how are you doing today?"
"I'm doing just fine, thank you for asking," Yukizome responded as her eyes glanced over to Gundham, then back to her. "I don't know how you did it, but you taught Gundham magic. How?"
Jolyne shrugged. "He had an affinity for it. He had already unlocked some of his mana reserves by presumably meditating somewhere with a deep connection to magic, and when I saw it, I guess I got eager to teach someone else how to use it so it didn't go to waste. Plus, he's a chunibyo, what better way to help him break that "can't and or won't live in reality" thing than by showing him that what he's been ranting and raving about is part of reality?" Jolyne replied, sticking her hands into her hoodie's pocket.
"Hmm… well, that's good. I wonder, though… do you think anyone else in the class can learn magic?" Yukizome questioned as Jolyne raised an eyebrow.
"Why?" The dual-haired teen asked as Yukizome blanked for a second, deep in thought for some reason or another, before clearing her throat.
"Oh, no reason. I'm just curious, that's all!"
Jolyne didn't buy that for a second. She had a hunch that there was something more to Yukizome than she was letting on. Granted, it was a pretty baseless hunch, but it was a hunch nonetheless. Jolyne shrugged, looking up into the sky. For a moment, a sick smirk came upon her face, and then, she spoke. "Well… if he was still alive, Fuyuhiko would seem like the kind of person who could learn magic."
Yukizome froze on the spot, eyes widening as she looked at Jolyne. "What… do you mean if he was still alive?"
"Shit, I said too much! Quick, uh… make up a reason as to how I know this other than The System telling me!"
"Oh?" Jolyne remarked flawlessly as Despair Aura activated on its own, Jolyne none the wiser to it. "You didn't know? Check the news, Yukizome-Sensei. The news outlets mentioned it in passing. The hospital isn't disclosing how he died, but he did around some time at 3 in the morning." As Jolyne said that, Despair Aura deactivated as a small amount of colour returned to Yukizome's face, a meter above her head reading:
[Despair Reading – 5%]
Jolyne arched an eyebrow. "Did my Spreader of Despair perk do that? I don't remember activating Despair Aura, so that shouldn't have happened…. Unless, of course, it came at the news of Fuyuhiko dying." "I mean, with his injuries, it should've been obvious that he wasn't going to make it. What can I say? Death comes for those who seek it out."
With that, Jolyne walked away from the teacher, who was left devastated. "Where's that hope now, bitch?" Jolyne thought, coughing inwardly as she blinked, shocked at the rather vulgar thought. "Sheesh… what the hell was that for? That was low, even for me! Must have something to do with my faction alignment. Fucking hell…." "C'mon, Gundham! We gotta continue your training!"
Gundham looked over to Jolyne, then nodded. "I'll be there soon, Witch!"
Jolyne stuck a thumbs up, then headed back to the forest. She felt Whitesnake replenish its power, and with that notion, she sent it out once again to go gain some more levels. She needed it to be at least at level 25, and quickly. Half the day was already gone, leaving her with only 3 and a half more days until she had to return to the school. If she was going to help those kids, then she would need whatever ability Whitesnake was going to unlock at that level.
Call it a hunch, but she knew that it was going to be very, very overpowered.
However, as she entered the forest, a memory of something else she had to do when she got back to school came to mind.
"And I still have that stupid magic show I have to put on, too! Damnit!"
And just like that, the mood she had been in was killed, replaced by repressed annoyance. Because of course, she had more things to do. Why couldn't life just be a bit more simple? "Guess what most Isekai protagonists in situations like these say is true! Being the protagonist SUCKS!"
-To Be Continued-
