The woman gave him an odd look, Sesshoumaru's chin rising when Manten's eyes squinted even further.
"Why're you letting strangers in here? I can take care of you just fine—"
"You are not equipped to take care of anyone in your inebriated state," Sesshoumaru said. He wasn't swaying, but there was a distinct odour to his breath, and Sesshoumaru's hackles rose every time he inched toward the woman.
Manten looked between him and the woman, then stomped his foot. "Brother, he's ruining our plans!"
"Plans?" Blue eyes blazed once more as she stepped forward. "You were going to throw another party?"
Kikyou sighed. "Why do you even care? It's not like you're any fun at them anyway. You've rejected every guy I've sent your way—"
"Do not turn this into your twisted matchmaking game," she snapped. "And I don't want anything to do with the type of people you hang out with."
"Hey! We're not that bad," the other youkai said, crossing his arms.
"Manten literally threatened to electrocute someone last week!" she countered.
The shorter youkai shrugged. "I didn't like the way he was looking at me. Or you."
"You get no say in who looks at me. I'm not your girlfriend!"
The scent of electricity spurred something in Sesshoumaru's memory, and realization dawned as he turned to Manten. "You sent the note."
