'What are you getting mom for her birthday?' Asked Goten Goku.
A week had passed since the party in the Ox Kingdom.
'I don't know.' He replied honestly. 'I found a pearl a week ago; I can give her that.'
'Are you going?'
'Yes, she'd be mad if I didn't.'
'Do you want to go?' Gohan asked.
'Everyone else is; I do want to see the others.'
Goku picked at his clothes and then looked at Gohan. 'What do you guys think about me going out on dates?' Goten and Gohan stared at him in astonishment; Goku blushed and added, 'Krillin and Bloomer want to introduce me to some women.'
'Uh, sure.' Gohan said slowly. 'If that's what you want.'
The two exchanged a glance, then looked at him. 'What's wrong?'
'We just wish you and mom would get back together.' Goten replied.
'Your mother doesn't want to.'
'I know.'
'It'll be fine. It's just one date.'
'When are you supposed to be going?'
'I dunno, whenever they go on a date night.'
'Are you nervous about it?'
'Kinda; I wouldn't know how to act.'
'Just be yourself; people accept you when you're true to yourself.'
'Mom didn't.' Goten replied.
Goku felt his shoulders drop as Gohan looked away. 'No, I guess not.'
If someone I've been with for half of my life doesn't like how I am, then what chance do I have with a new person?
She left capsule corp the morning after her conversation with Trunks.
He was the only reason she remained there, but he didn't want her anymore.
She could, as the humans say, read the writing on the wall; she could have figured out as much, but she didn't want to abandon hope just yet.
Her hope was gone, Trunks made sure.
He couldn't forgive her, nor did he love her; why should she stay?
She just wanted to die when Trunks said those things to her, but at least she knew now.
It was the only thing she could give him now; he'd probably have a much better life without her.
What to do now, though?
She could go to space, but she needed a ship.
'Hey, Vegan.'
Vegan turned to see kakarotto's grinning face flying beside her.
'What do you want?!'
'I need help.'
'With what?'
'Dating.'
'Dating?'
'I need to learn how to act on a date.'
'Why? You're already married; you won.'
'No, er, I lost. Chi Chi and I are divorced.'
Before she knew what she was doing, she was in his arms.
'Oh, I'm so sorry, Kakarotto.'
The sudden collision of their bodies crashing into each other sounded like thunder clapping.
'It's OK. I don't get sad about it anymore.'
'You don't deserve this.'
Vegan felt his body heat up as she held his face; he was so bashful when someone embraced him.
For someone who constantly told her that she needed to be more emotional, he sure had a hard express his.
His face reddened as he broke away from her, stealing the occasional glance.
'I just need help,' he murmured, his fingertips lingering on her waist, 'i don't have much experience with women.'
'Say no more; I will do my very best to encourage you. What do you need?'
'I need you to go on a date with me.'
