At that time, going towards the place Ultear was held before going anywhere else to make sure she wasn't prisoner and being tortured, after that Genki said himself that they need to prepare which was in case Hades or anyone tried to do a follow up attack. He has gone to see Ur during the time skip to check on her and if Ultear was there, what happened shall be revealed later on. Hades has uses for Genki's magical energies. They weren't Vulcans, Genki said they felt more like Lacrima than living beings, and Hades said to himself at the end of the chapter, his ship was stopped from going there, otherwise he would have been there as well. Well, that person will be revealed eventually. Mirajane did yeah. Erza trusted him enough to express that. Genki and Mavis did yeah. We shall see what happens with Hades's lie to both Ultear and Genki, using it for his own agenda. Hisui could be yeah. He could do. He will be in the games. Riana could be. Juvia will have her role in that arc. Gajeel and Juvia will retain their friendship. Thanks for the harem suggestions. Selene will explain where and what she is doing when she appears. Carla will have a fun relationship with Genki. We shall see with Irene. Zancrow could do. Genki will confront Hades during the story. Ultear has her roles to play. Minerva could do. We shall see what happens with Jiemma. Yeah, the first episode was really fun to see, can't wait to see it all.

Chapter 9
A few years had passed since the day Genki first joined Fairy Tail.
Upon entering Fairy Tail, he took to missions quite well, so much so that it garnered attention of those such as Makarov, to the point that Genki was able to take the S Class Trials one year after Laxus took his own and a year before Erza took her own.
He had also grown in the few years since first joining. His blonde hair having grown out a bit more, with it resting just below his neck. Around said neck, he wore a necklace containing a small Lacrima that held images that projected like holograms whenever in use.
During the time he was a child, and now into more of a teenager, his outfit had changed a bit. He now wore black pants, and a sleeveless white shirt with gold trimmings, and a crescent moon shaped insignia on the back. His golden key was attached to a black sash like belt tied around his waist, along with black laced boots. On his right upper arm, held the Fairy Tail stamp, his was white in colour.
Right now, at sixteen years old, he was engaged in a fight with a small time Dark Guild that had been attacking a poor village.
This mission, he had taken on with Mavis who tended to follow on most missions, with few exceptions.
"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"
Genki thrusted his arm upwards, and from doing that action, beautiful moonlight energy erupted from the area his hand was, and washed over the enemies that were attacking. A few Dark Mages tried to come up from behind Genki, when he glanced towards them, and immediately moonlight shot out of his hand, sending a burst strong enough to send them flying into the ground without them able to resist, and rendered them unconscious as a result.
"Have this!"
"Damn Mage!"
A few of the attackers had swords, and came at the young boy, so he thrusts his hand to the side, and aims his hand backwards, he murmurs "Moonlight Palm." which erupts a bright light out of his hand, cleaving through the weapons that they had, exploding at the same time, and shot them through a building, with Mavis swaying side to side.
"Sneak attacks are supposed to be sneaky, you know~"
Mavis commented, while Genki turns towards another Mage attacking, so Genki twirls around, using his foot to smash into the side of the man's face, he enhanced his foot with moonlight energy, and blasted the enemy away from his body, causing him to dig into the ground, breaking some of the earth up into little chunks.
He then pauses, and looks around, seeing all of the enemies defeated, and those that were left, were waving their hands rapidly with fear on their faces at the display of power Genki had by taking out their higher ranked members, indicating that they had surrendered.
"Well, looks like that ends that."
Mavis floats to the right hand side of him, and does a thumbs up.
"Ooh yeah, score one for Fairy Tail! And we need it since others keep breaking things..."
"Ooh Mavis-chan, its okay."
"I wish it was, they can be so destructive Genki-kun, I worry for poor Makarov, he really is going through the ringer with these guild members, huh?"
Genki gives a bemused look to Mavis, and then snaps his fingers, causing rope that was scattered around to being lifting up. Using telekinesis, he was able to wrap it around the arms and legs of the enemies, binding them from being able to do anything to anyone else in the town.
"He really saved us!"
"Praise the Mage!"
"Yes, yes! Thank you very much!"
When he did, he heard claps and cheering coming from the townspeople, those that had been terrorized by the Rogue Mages.
He smiled gently at those around him, that brought them comfort, and happiness at the same time.
Finishing up in the town, Genki began making his way back to Fairy Tail, together with Mavis who floated all around his head.
"Heading back now, are we?"
"Yeah, the S Class exams are coming up, and I wanna see Mira-san off, the Master said that she would be chosen this year, he told me just before I left for this mission. She seemed a bit bummed out last year when Erza-san took the victory and became the S Class for that year. It could have gone either way."
"She is a determined girl." Mavis noted, stretching out her arms. "Still, I think she is a very determined for a few reasons, one being Erza, really good motivators for one another huh."
Genki gave amused eyes, and leaps up, over a tree that blocked their path, returning to the ground and continued on.
As they continued on together, a thought came to Mavis, and she expressed it fondly towards Genki.
"You think we can get something for the apartment?"
Genki lightly laughed, while Mavis shows a smile in an adorable manner.
"What is it you want?"
"What I want is a new big wide picture of me! Hanging from the living room wall, for all to see!" Genki gave her a dry face, with Mavis giggling. "Kidding! I was actually thinking of a bigger couch. We have been having more and more guests lately, so we need the extra space for them to sit down, at least I think so."
Genki couldn't help but think what she said was true.
"Seems simple enough. Sure, we'll get looking when we get back."
"Great, then we can pick one out together~ Aah, maybe we should get the Fairy Tail insignia on the back of it. Maybe a bigger bed too might be good, I am sure the girls would appreciate it...or maybe they like the closeness of the bed as it is now~"
Genki gave her a sideways glance as she fiddled with her fingers in a cute manner.
If nothing else, he had to admit that Mavis did show cute sides to her.
Mavis gives a sideways smile, as they continue on back to the guild.
When returning to the guild, Genki was alone, as Mavis went off to do...Genki wasn't entirely sure, she left it vague, and it seemed to be important to her, so he didn't say anything about it. He presumed she might be looking for couches or things like it.
Instead, he was greeted by those within the guild, he got the usual "Fight me!" from Natsu, but with one single hand wave and release of moonlight, Natsu was soon on the floor, and was defeated, leaving him with swirly eyes.
Genki went up towards the area that S Class Mages usually would be. Joined with Erza, and Laxus, the former was sharing some cake with Genki, while the latter was looking at Genki from the corner of his eye.
"Wow Erza-san, this is delicious."
"Isn't it? A village gave me some as a thank you for saving their village from a group of thieves."
"Aah, I wish I went there, could have got some more~"
"Next time, lets do a mission together. An S Class would be a good one to do."
"Ooh, we haven't done a mission together in...about a month now, I'm always up for missions with you Erza-san. We've got down our timing with our respective magics. Mages be careful~"
"Yes, it seems the Mages will have to be aware."
Mirajane looked up from the floor below, and saw how Erza and Genki were sharing a laugh, so she tightened her hand.
"Alright then! Time for me to take the trial this year, Erza!" Erza who was sat up above the bar area, together with Genki and Laxus, the other two S Class Mages in Fairy Tail, at least that were in the building, looked down towards Mirajane, seeing that she had a challenging smile on her face. "And then, I'll be taking a seat right up there red!"
Seeing that as a challenge to her, Erza stepped up to it almost immediately.
"Mira, it seems that you might be coming up here after all. Even then, I shall not back down."
Erza was being just as challenging as Mirajane was. Sparks went off between their eyes, and they looked ready to brawl at any moment. Genki could feel the tension in the air, and see how the girls had eyes that looked very sharp.
"Come on ice boy! Lets go!"
"Alright Natsu, lets go."
"Hahaha! Who will win I wonder!"
Not just them, but also Genki saw that Natsu and Gray were brawling, even Elfman was getting involved with them, and for a good while now had begun calling Genki "Big bro!" something Genki found to be quite endearing, and funny at the same time considering how tall Elfman was.
Also, over the years Natsu had found an egg, that contained a cat. The cat was named Happy, and usually flew around Natsu, and supported him, also seemingly being fond of Lisanna as well. Genki wasn't entirely sure what the cats deal was, he hadn't ever seen a cat quite like him before, that could also use magic, and speak like he did. Genki did find him a bit fascinating, but also had to stop the cat from being a bit too wild at times.
"Big sister Mira, you aren't going to make this a competition between you and Erza-san, are you?"
"She started it Lisanna, I have to finish it. I refuse to let her win!"
Lisanna gave a troubled expression, looking towards Genki, and saw that Lisanna was looking conflicted, so Genki gave her a reassuring look.
"Genki-kun! Get your cute little butt down here, and have a drink with me!"
Cana yelled out, having a slightly red face, offered as she waved frantically towards him.
"Cana! Do not flirt with Genki either!"
Mirajane scowled, while Cana waved her hand side to side.
"Remember my prediction? Well, I'm only saying that it seems to be coming true..."
"No, I refuse to let it come true!"
Erza scowled this time, and pulled forward, leaning across Genki with her hair briefly brushing against his face.
"Mirajane, I am sorry but I have to interfere here. This is something that has to come to pass. As the romance advisor, I advise that you and I have a talk about Genki-kun and his future potential for many girlfriends."
"Erza! Be quiet! I wont let you corrupt his pureness!"
"I think that Virgo made that ship sail a long time ago, considering she is a huge masochist, and frequently asking for crazier and crazier punishments..."
"Virgo is Virgo, she cannot be stopped! But, I can stop you and your wicked ways!"
Genki looked between the people in the guild, and found it to be rather lively and entertaining.
However, before they could continue on, suddenly something mysterious began to happen.
One by one, those within the guild, were suddenly beginning to fall asleep.
Erza's head fell against Genki's shoulder.
Nodding off, and dropping where they were, the only ones who didn't fall asleep were Laxus, Genki and Makarov himself, while the doors to Fairy Tail opened, and came in a cloaked individual.
"So he's back again. Putting the weaklings to sleep." Laxus glances at Genki who showed no signs of tiredness. "I wouldn't expect anything less from you, after all."
Genki glanced back at him, seeing that the blonde haired man was staring directly at him.
His eyes displayed no harshness despite his words.
More like, a challenging stare, so Genki returned it.
During the time that he had been in Fairy Tail, Genki and Laxus had developed a relationship that wasn't truly antagonistic, but they did on occasion compete against one another, and Genki thought that perhaps Laxus had begun viewing him as some kind of rival to overcome completely, at least that's the impression that Genki got.
"Neither would I, Laxus-san."
"If you expected any less from me, I'd become offended."
"Of course not, I wouldn't expect anything less from you."
Genki truthfully replied, with Laxus showing a strong disposition.
Genki then felt eyes on him, so he turned, and looked at the young man, who after a few moments staring up towards him, simply went towards the board, got what he desired, and then took off once getting what he wished for.
Before he existed, Genki called out "Mystogan-san, don't forget to wake the others up." causing Mystogan to turn, and look towards Genki.
"I forgot once."
Genki let out a chuckle, and went to speak, when Laxus instead interrupted him.
"Once is enough idiot."
Laxus weighed in, with Mystogan narrowing his brows ever so slightly towards Laxus, a tension going off between them both.
Genki shook his head, looking down towards Makarov who said nothing, but kept his eyes upon the two, Mystogan and Laxus respectably, while Genki himself simply looked towards Mystogan, feeling something about him was a little off.
When Mystogan finally left, the others began waking up, one by one, until they all finally did so.
"Ugh...it was that damn Mystogan again..." Mirajane began looking up towards Genki, and saw that Erza was pulling her head away from Genki's shoulder, it didn't go down well with Mirajane. "Oi red! What the hell do you think you're trying to pull!?"
"Hmm? What do you mean?"
"Sleeping on Genki like that! How rude for one!"
Erza gave challenging eyes towards Mirajane, who did the same thing.
"I naturally fell asleep. I cannot help when I fall asleep if Mystogan puts me to sleep, and how I fall asleep either."
"You felt it coming, so you could have turned your head away, and not fallen asleep on his shoulder!"
"Its fine, since I am the romance advisor. Also, I didn't think it was bad, sleeping on his shoulder was actually rather refreshing. Perhaps I shall do it more often in the future. What do you think Mirajane?"
"Ooh, you like angering me don't you?"
Genki thought "Seems like they're about to brawl..." and watched as Erza stood up, going down the stairs to Mirajane, who in turn stared defiantly towards the young woman.
Magical power began to leak off of their bodies, surrounding them in a destructive aura that was causing a good deal of shaking through most of the people within it. Even Natsu and Gray had ceased fighting, and looked truly scared of the fact that the girls were able to show such fierceness coming from them.
Genki knew it wouldn't end well, and soon saw the girls grappling one another's hands, while flinging insults at one another such as "Red headed beast!" and "Witch!" among others, even Makarov began looking worried as the girls pushed one another further and further.
Though for Genki, he had become quite accustomed to them going at one another, and to the guild in general, he was happy enough.
Suddenly, Erza stopped, and turned towards Genki.
"Before I forget. Genki-kun. Could you help me move some of my things later?"
"Eeh, sure. Of course. Where to?"
"In the apartment that is unoccupied next to yours."
Mirajane's eyes blazed.
"What? You live at Fairy Hills!"
"I did. However, I saw an attractive offer, and couldn't refuse myself the opportunity to move close to some of my friends. Besides, I tend to find myself staying at Genki-kun's apartment anyway most if not nearly all nights, it only made sense to get that apartment to save money, and to expand both places to give us both more room." Erza turned to Genki, seeing Mirajane giving off a seething expression. "It seems, that we shall be neighbors. Hm, since we are, perhaps we should get a door installed between our apartments, like you and Mira have done, yes that would be for the best, don't you agree?"
"Yeah sure, would be like three big apartments in one."
Genki gave a delightful smile, Mirajane on the other hand was grinding her teeth.
Erza...moving in next to Genki, it truly was a difficult time.
That evening, Mirajane was preparing for her exam which happens to take place the next day. She laid on her bed, her eyes casting up to the ceiling, as she thought about a certain young man that kept coming to her mind.
It was that of Genki, who ran through her mind.
Half of her wished that he also was going, but another half wanted to also show that like Erza, and him before her, that she'd be able to become an S Class Wizard, and return back to the guild with that title.
"Yeah, I will show him...I will become S Class like him...we will be S Class together...be together...yeah, I would like that...being with my lovable Genki...haha...damn Erza, she's really...not wrong when she said I...damn Erza..."
Because she couldn't stop thinking about him, and wished to speak to him before she left, Mirajane went towards Genki's residence.
It was literally only next door, and they even had doors so they could walk into one another's apartments whenever they wished, they basically lived together with two apartments in one.
Having no need to knock on the door since Mirajane and Genki were that comfortable with one another, always going into one another's places without worry, she witnessed Genki along with Mavis sat in the living room watching Virgo, in a cat girl outfit, beginning to dance, and also saw the outfit itself left little to the imagination, leaving several portions of her skin viewable.
"My...she is very...bendable...is that the right way to say it? I am a bit...unsure of what to say...she is a very...interesting spirit huh."
Mavis wondered and questioned both herself and Genki, while Genki himself gave bemused looks, same for Virgo. The reason Virgo could see Mavis was because she also had the Fairy Tail insignia on her body allowing her to view Mavis.
"So this is the new dance I have come up with, Prince. Is this a good one?"
Virgo asks, as she shakes her hips up and down, especially making sure that she was in full view of Genki, Mavis was becoming more embarrassed, and buried her face into Genki's chest.
"Its certainly very unique Virgo-chan, I haven't seen anyone dance like that before. You are good at making...unique dance moves."
"Yes, I am glad you like it, as I like to be original in my dancing. It is something I pride myself in, my originality."
Mirajane thought "That of all things is what she prides herself in?" and walks slowly into the apartment.
Looking at Virgo, the young dancing spirit was shown to be truly excited.
It was worrying for Mirajane, who didn't know what to think about Virgo and her excitement sometimes.
"So..." Mirajane sat down beside Genki, watching Virgo turn around and suggestively shake her hips side to side, something Mavis couldn't take her wide eyes from. "...I have to be going early tomorrow." Mirajane continued after a few moments, watching Virgo continuing to shake her butt side to side, going faster after a few moments. "Genki...this is quite a big deal huh?"
"You mean Virgo-chan?"
"No, that's a scary deal." Mavis snorted, as Virgo stared at her briefly with strong unwavering eyes, before going back to dancing for Genki. "What I mean is, the S Class Trials, its a big huge thing. Both you and Erza have become S Class in previous years, I am a little unsure if I will..."
"Mira-san, I know you can do this. You have everything you need, the knowledge, the skill, the power, everything."
His voice was so full of confidence for her, he didn't think she wouldn't be able to do pass it for even a single moment. Every fiber of his being told him that Mirajane had what it took to become an S Class Mage.
"Got a good bit of confidence in me, huh?"
"Haha, I do yeah. I think you can do it. You have the strength, and the smarts. Put them together, and I know that you'll come out on top. It isn't just about being strong to be an S Class. While a factor of course, it also takes brains and how to apply it to the jobs that we have in the guild, and I have seen you be able to apply smarts and strength to any given situation."
Getting his advice, did cause her heart to ease ever so slightly.
"...Yeah, right. I get it...well, I can do that. And afterwards...maybe we could..."
"Copulate?"
Virgo suggested, Mirajane nodded without thinking.
"Yes, we could copulate..." Mirajane thought about what she said, then turned towards Virgo angrily. "No!" Virgo tilts her head in wonder as Genki raises a brow. "Anyway, maybe we could...ugh, we could do something I guess...to celebrate...yeah, we could do something together..."
"Of course! I'd love to! I can't wait for you to be S Class, then we can go around together as S Class Mages." Genki took her hands within his own, and gently held them, causing Mirajane to lightly turn red in the face. "I know that you can do it, Mira-san. I will support you all the way."
Mirajane adopted a sly look on her face, mixed with a tinge of red.
She liked, even now, he was still supporting her, and always cheered for her.
"Yeah...I will do my best. I refuse to let Erza get ahead of me!"
Genki gave bemused eyes, but also found her words to be rather filled with determination at the same time. He couldn't help but enjoy it simply because of the fact that with her rivalry with Erza, Mirajane wished to push herself, and become as strong as possible.
He then leaned closer, and lightly kissed her forehead, murmuring "Do your best, Mira-san." something Mirajane brightly blushed at, so in turn, she gently brushed against his face, and smiled softly, content with the closeness that they shared, determined to become even closer to the boy she had deep feelings for, feelings that only grew over the years.
The next day, wishing Mirajane well on her exam, and also seeing Erza off after she went on her own mission, Genki was sat in the guild hall, next to Levy as the pair were reading the same book, on the same page.
It was something that they did from time to time when they had free time together, since they were some of the only people in the guild that was such an avid reader. To the point he owned his own pair of Gale Force Reading Glasses, his having a blue frame.
Mavis had taken off for a short time, she did so from time to time, Genki thought she simply liked exploring, he was quite happy for her to have her own kind of fun.
Many Fairy Tail Mages were surrounding Genki, but he was too engrossed within the book to notice much of it.
When Genki finished a page, he paused, and turned to Levy, who was nodding strongly in his direction.
"You finished the page?"
"Just...so, the Aunt was really the sister of the main character the entire time?"
Levy said dramatically, Genki nods and goes into a thinking pose.
"But, if she was, then where's the real Aunt? It seems this sister took the Aunts position to try and get close to the sibling without them knowing it was her. And what's her goal? Does she want to harm the sister? Ooh, I hope the Aunt is okay..."
"Yes, me too...this book is so good. Lets find out what this woman has done."
It was joyful to those like Genki and Levy to have someone to discuss stories with.
However, it soon came apparent that the many Mages were trying to gain his attention, so his eyes cast over the book. He saw Natsu's face super close to his own with a big cheesy grin working its way onto his face, so Genki placed the book between them, and lightly pushed Natsu's face away from him.
"So, what's everyone doing?"
As soon as Genki said that, all hell broke loose.
"Take me on an S Class with ya Genki! Fire and moon, its really the best! Lets get fired up!"
"No, take me with you. My ice, and your moon shall make the job fly by with ease."
"No way ice boy! You got to go last time! Its my turn this time!"
"Quiet fire head!"
Gray and Natsu argued with one another, as Elfman shot from the right, and leaned quite close, so Genki gently pushed him away as well.
"Big bro! Allow me to learn more manly things from you and have me accompany you on an S Class job!"
"Elfman-san, you can't use such a position to get ahead! Just because Mira-chan is going to be with Genki-kun, you as the little brother is a very good position! That isn't fair!"
Levy suddenly yelled out, shyly looking on as she did so, with Cana turning rapidly towards them all.
"Hell no boys and girls, its my turn to go with Genki-kun! We can do, so many things together~"
Cana exclaimed, raising a glass of alcohol, while Lisanna shakes her head.
"Why don't we go together? We can talk about big sister, and I'll even give you tips about her~"
Genki raised a brow at that, as suddenly Virgo appeared.
Genki hadn't summoned her, but she appeared of her own volition, wearing a bikini, and turned towards Genki, her arms snaking around his body and pushed his reddening face against her chest.
"The Prince and I will go together."
"You would be coming with me anyway Virgo-chan. You come on every job I go on."
Virgo blinked, while Genki stared towards her curiously.
"Oh, yes. You're right. I must receive my punishment for my speaking out of term, Prince. Please, punish me. I recommend-"
"Okay, we don't need recommendations!"
Lisanna yelled, with Virgo giving off curious eyes.
Cana sweat dropped, and pushed Virgo off of Genki, only for Cana to hug the young man into her chest.
"Take me with you, wont you Genki-kun?"
"Seduction is powerful! But big bro wont allow your seductions to tempt him!"
Cana pulled out her tongue at Elfman, dodging a table that Gray and Natsu had thrown at one another.
"But, I am ever so tempting, aren't I Genki-kun?" Genki looked up to Cana, who smiled cheerfully down towards him. "So, what do you say huh?"
"Cana-san, you know that's not how it works, right?"
"Even then, you know that I adore cuddling you tightly, so it doesn't matter~"
Virgo took this chance to hold Genki's right arm, and have her cleavage push against said arm, Genki looked at Virgo bewildered, seeing that she had the face of a pure maiden, with a hint of mischievousness within as well.
Genki then claps his hands together, and summoned a chart to his side via telekinesis. It had a list of names on it, and in order of who went on the last mission.
Genki was someone that liked having others be able to gain experience through strong missions, and therefore a good few of the guild liked going on S Class missions with him. So, to make sure each had a turn at it, they had rotations on who would go with him on the next S Class mission, and did it in an order, so when it came to the bottom, he'd go back to the top, and repeat the process. Of course some exceptions are made, depending on the situation, but people were allowed to put their names down on the list, and then get a place so when their turn came up, they could go on an S Class mission with him.
He looked through it, and saw who the next person was, turning to Cana.
"Cana-san, it seems to be your turn."
A collective groan came from the others, while Cana flashed the peace sign over and over again at the others.
"Aah yeah, that's right boys and girls. My turn~"
Genki stood up, and began walking to the stairs to go to the area where S Class missions were held.
Following him was a happy Cana, who saluted Natsu and Gray in a very happy manner, who in turn grumbled something that sounded like "Damn it." so the girl shrugged her shoulders, and took off together withy Genki, going all the way up the stairs, and looked down.
"Weird, being up here. But, it feels good at the same time."
"You could also be up here one day, Cana-san."
"Haha, yeah sure hope so." Cana turns to Genki, her eyes briefly directing themselves towards his bent over body, before looking at the board to see some of the missions available. "So, what are we going for? I don't mind personally, whatever you decide S Class~"
Genki smiled, and looked through the different requests that had been sent in.
One in particular caught his attention.
Not because it looked harder than the rest, but the fact that it came with such little reward. In fact, it seemed to be the same for a typical job, so he took it off of the board, and looked over it with intrigue.
"Hmm, I think this one might be good."
Cana looked over his shoulder, and saw what it was.
"Dark Guild huh. But, the reward, it seems quite small, doesn't it? To get rid of a Dark Guild that's been terrorizing this other guild. I don't know, you sure this is the one that you want to go for Genki-kun?"
"It makes me curious. It must be obvious that with such little rewards, not many would bother with taking the request. But clearly have made it so that it is an S Class. Either the people are stingy, or the people are desperate, and have little money to pay for it, and realize that as well, but are hoping for someone to take the mission."
"If its the latter, why not lie, and say that it is simply a mission for a lower rank? Wouldn't that naturally draw more people in?"
"Depends on the person, I guess. They could have done that deceptive way. But, perhaps they thought that if they did that, then the people coming wouldn't be up to the task, and could cause them severe wounds, possibly even death as a result, and they wouldn't want that. That could be a reason."
Cana thought that he was making sense.
However, one thought still kept coming to her mind.
"And say it isn't the good person, but the person who's just a cheapskate?"
"Then at least we had a little adventure."
Cana adopted a small smile on her lips.
"Well, you're the S Class, so I'm gonna take after you. Alright, then if that's what you wanna do, I'm fine with that."
"If it does turn out to be a dud one, we can do another one at a later time, it wouldn't be a bother to me."
Cana gave a humbling smile on her face, nods a single time, then leaps off of the area they stood, yelling "I'll get ready, see you in an hour at the entrance of the town!" and took off, leaving Genki to contemplate what kind of mission that they'd truly be going on.
Looking at the area, Genki was sure that it was going to be an interesting experience.
Later on, Genki arrived at the gates, in time to see Cana pulling him beside him.
He walked towards the young woman, and offered a smile, in turn she also offered one right back towards him, then she exhaled slowly.
"Ready when you are!"
"Great, then I'm ready to go now, if you wish?"
Cana shrugs her shoulders, and nods a single time.
"I can't wait, I always love going on S Class missions with you, it always brings great experience~ Like last time when we had to defeat that weird looking monster, that was so good~ And the reward, aah I was able to drink without worry for over three months~"
"Haha, well lets hope it is as good or even better this time. Actually, you wish to become S Class yourself, don't you Cana-san?"
Cana scratches her cheek with embarrassment and shyness at the same time, nodding a single time.
"Yeah, that's right, tips would be useful."
Genki was about to say "Alright." when an idea came to him. Recalling words from his Sensei before him, and those he respected, he thought that this would be a good chance for Cana, and to see her potential.
"Then I have an idea. Lets use this as a chance for you to take a good feel of an S Class Mage, okay? I want you to take lead on the mission."
Cana looked absolutely stunned.
"What? Really? You're leaving it to me?"
Genki nods, and explains.
"Yes, that's right. To be an S Class, you've got to have the feel for one, right? Then lets have you take charge. Remember, it is alright to ask for help when needed. Relying on others, is not a sign of weakness, but a trust between comrades. Don't worry, I'm here to support you Cana-san. Think of yourself as leader for the time being, ask me to do as you need me to do."
Cana adopted a bigger smile than before.
"R...Right! Then, lets get going!"
"Right behind you, Cana-san."
Cana felt some confidence in herself growing, and she was able to begin leading the mission.
Walking through the forest, Genki watched Cana take note of where they were, and what way they should be going towards their destination.
"Honestly. Me, in charge. I can hardly believe it."
"Why can't you believe it? That's what S Class Mages are for as well, you know? When there's a need for us to take charge, then we can do. I am sure you've seen Erza-san do so on occasion, and others as well."
Cana lightly laughs.
"Yeah, I know. I'm just...I don't know how to say it right. I want to do my best, but at the same time, I don't wanna fail, you know?"
"I can understand that. So my advice would be, don't think about failing. We can only do our best in life, Cana-san. Do your best. And as I said, if need be, I am here, so just go for it, okay? What you think is best, and any questions, feel free to ask."
His words were quite profound to Cana, who felt a little more inspired to try even harder than ever before.
"Yes...right, okay. So, when we get there...hmm, lets meet with the person who sent the request...or maybe we should get a feel of the town first..." Cana posed, with Genki continuing to smile. "...Well, hmmm...alright, we would have to find out about why the pay is so low as well for an S Class. It says a Dark Guild is bothering them right? Making attacks on their guild."
"Indeed it does. What are you thinking Cana-san?"
Cana gets into a thinking pose.
But then scrunches up her brows.
"Ugh...hmmm...well...it could be a number of things..."
"You know Cana-san, I've seen you in action before. You're a great Mage, don't let anything worry you now. You know what to do."
Cana pauses, then nods a single time.
"It could be because of this Dark Guild, that they simply have no money to really give."
"It could be. Lets put a stop to the Dark Guild. It doesn't say which Dark Guild though, so it could be tricky. Depending on who it is. Though, I have doubts it will be one of the top ranking Dark Guilds. As it seems a bit pointless for them to raid such an area."
Cana develops a question mark.
"Eh, really? You can tell?"
"I don't know for certain of course. But taking some deductions such as area, and means. Take a look where it is coming from. The request, and match it up with the map. See if you can find anything that a top Dark Guild could want from the area."
Cana does such and looks questioningly at it.
"It seems...to mostly be a forest. Nothing really special about it, is there?"
"Not to my knowledge. Which is why I am assuming that it probably isn't one of the top Dark Guilds. Still, it cannot be ruled out that because it might not be a top Dark Guild, they still can be strong, so we've got to be prepared. Plus, there could be something there we aren't aware of that would be valuable to many Mages, I suppose we shall see when we get there what it is that they could be after."
Cana was quite blown away, and looked with an admiring smile on her face.
"It wouldn't have even crossed my mind to think about that."
"You sell yourself short Cana-san, you would have thought about that. I know you would have. Maybe you might have predicted it~"
He lightly jokes, causing Cana to crack up ever so slightly.
"So this is an S Class Mage in action huh? Truly, it is great to see what you can do."
"Well, thank you Cana-san. But I know you can do it too."
"Your belief in me, is something...haha, I really appreciate it, thanks."
Genki shakes his head.
"No need to thank me. I only say what I believe is true. I genuinely think you have what it takes to do this. Lets see how the mission goes, alright?"
"Yeah, true. We don't know what we're up against yet, so we can only do our best."
Cana and Genki continue on together, while discussing various things together.
They travelled a good day together, going through various towns and forests to reach the area they were supposed to go. They made it quicker for themselves by getting a magically powered motorcycle, with Cana riding behind Genki, her arms wrapped around him, and snuggling against his back. He could also feel her chest beginning to push against his back, intentionally on her part or not he didn't quite know.
"This really is the best way to ride after all. Though don't tell Mira, she might try and kill me if she knows that I'm cuddling you like this."
Genki glanced back, seeing Cana resting her head on his back.
"W...We should be getting there pretty soon."
"Yeah, until then we can enjoy a peaceful ride through the forest together. Though, thanks for driving~"
"Not a problem."
Cana giggles.
"Such a gentleman."
Genki lightly smiles, as they continue on together.
Cana then thought of something.
"Hey, Natsu gets sick when he rides on things, as a Dragon Slayer. Don't you?"
"I do, I feel it right now, I just can control it."
Cana looked at his face, seeing that he did look a little sickly, having a pale face.
She adopted a cute smile on her face, and they continued on together.
Eventually, Cana and Genki arrive in the area they believe the request came from. The pair of them takes a few steps into the small little village, they assumed anyway, and they, once parking the bike at the entrance to the area, continued walking forward.
Though the houses looked as if they had steam being produced from them, or hearing noises, no one had actually come out to greet them. What was worse was that Genki felt something was amiss in this town, something that he hadn't placed his finger on quite yet.
Cana looks around, but couldn't see anyone, even as they looked into the houses.
"Total ghost town, picking up anything Genki-kun?"
"...Something about this town doesn't feel right."
Cana raised a brow.
"Huh? You see something Genki-kun?"
"There are people here...two in fact."
"Two? Where are they?"
Genki shifted his hand towards a building that looked like a guild hall to them.
"There. I can feel people there, and smell them as well. Female."
"Ooh girls huh? They must have sweet scents~" Genki raises a brow at Cana, who in turn laughs awkwardly. "But, isn't that a guild? I didn't know a guild existed out here."
"Neither did I, I assumed that this was a land that a town like this didn't exist. I thought it was abandoned from what I could find out before we left. Guess it hasn't been...at least two people live here anyway."
Genki and Cana approach the building, and when about to open the door, it suddenly opens itself.
"Aaaaah!"
Rather, someone falls through the door, and forces open the door that way.
The person lands face first on the ground, and lets out a little cry as a result.
"Ouch..."
Genki bends down, and sees that it is a smaller than average girl, perhaps two years or so younger than he was with long blue hair, wearing a yellow and black striped dress, shoes that had wings attached to them for aesthetic reasons, and big soft eyes which also had tears in them.
"Ooh my."
Cana murmured, cringing at how hard the girl hit the floor.
Genki offers his hand towards the girl as she turns to look back up towards him.
"Are you alright?"
The girl looks timid, and unsure of how to speak, as another voice comes in.
"A girl in a bra, and a handsome boy. These are who respond to the request?"
Genki looks past the blue haired girl, and sees a small white cat in a dress, and has a stern look on her face.
"Eeh, this girl in a bra, and the handsome boy, have names cat girl, its Cana and Genki if you'd like to know." The cat girl gives Cana a strange look, before turning her head away, Cana pauses incredulously at her attitude, and turns to Genki surprised. "Like Happy, huh? Except she's more...I don't know if mean sounds right, but at least more strict?"
"I know, two talking cats, what a curious thing."
The cat girl looks towards Genki and Cana with scrutinizing eyes, while the shy blue haired girl is helped up thanks to Genki's outstretched hand.
"Y-You really...r-responded to the request…! A-Are either of you...S Class Mages?"
"I am." Genki revealed, the girl looked up towards him as he was taller than she was. "My partner is also hoping to become S Class. So, you're the ones that sent out the request huh?"
The girl nods meekly, while the cats eyes never leave the pair of them.
"Y-Yes! A-Ah, my name...my name is Wendy, and this is Carla...thank you so much for responding!"
"Wendy." The cat Carla reprimanded with Wendy shrinking back a little. "You don't have to thank them, they're supposed to do it as apart of their job." Cana frowns while Genki furrows his brows. "Now, escort them in and begin explaining about the request."
"Yes, you're right." Wendy murmurs, Genki takes a glance at Carla, and then towards Wendy. "T-This way please..."
"Excuse me, but are other people living here?"
Genki wonders, with Wendy nodding.
"You...don't know? This is Cait Shelter."
Genki kept looking around, and he did begin seeing some people casually walking around.
But something didn't feel right to him.
People where there, yet not there at the same time.
It was something difficult to think about as Wendy looked up at him with doe like eyes.
"Cait...Shelter..."
"Yes...t-that's right, a guild..."
"Right...I see. Then, can we see the Guild Master?"
"Yes...please, this way."
Genki and Cana begin going inside of the building following after Wendy.
When doing so, Genki comes face to face with an old man dressed in tribal like clothing.
Genki stared at him, and focuses solely upon him.
Something about him didn't feel right.
Wendy didn't act any different around him, nor did Carla.
Cana didn't seem to recognize anything different either about him.
But to Genki, thanks to his keen magic sensing, and also his Dragon Slayer enhanced senses, he could tell something about this wasn't right at all. Not that he thought the Guild Master was evil, but something definitely didn't feel right to him.
As the Guild Master begins speaking "Well, welcome to Cait Shelter. Thank you for coming." but all Genki could think was…
"This person...has no heart beat...and no presence yet is trying to present both of them towards me, its difficult to tell, but for definite there is no heart beat at all...this person isn't alive."
That was Genki's gut feeling, and while he didn't know what was truly going on about this man, he was curious to see why he felt like that, to see what this man was…
Meanwhile, a young woman adorned with feathers, among other things, with a celestial spirit key hanging to her side, was looking through a crystal orb, a Lacrima, and was beginning to see two new faces approaching a town that she had set her eyes upon.
When she saw Cana, she was mostly dismissive.
However, when she saw Genki, especially the key that hung from his belt, her eyes lit up with delight.
Her lips curled upwards, and gave off the expression of a sadistic smile.
Her body quivered left and right, and her teeth played with her bottom lip, as she began pushing herself forward, to examine it more closely.
"And here I thought that I wouldn't see a Celestial Spirit Mage in a dank area like this, and what's more, a golden key. Ooh my sweet boy, you don't know what dangers you've walked in on."
Behind her, many people wielding guns began to appear.
More and more, all of them had appearances of monkeys, and the lone female of them with her Celestial Spirit Key, that she grasped, showed a darker growing smile.
"Because once I set my mind to something precious boy, you wont be walking away with what I desire. Even if you are adorable, its time to surrender that key. A girl has to start somewhere with a golden key, and you my Angelic boy, are going to be the beginning of me gaining many golden keys."
Showing a sinister smile, this woman stands up, and spreads her arms out like wings, and her long coat begins flapping behind her.
To most around, they thought that she looked, quite like an Angel.

So this chapter had a time skip from the last one, with Genki, Erza, and Mirajane being 16 years old now, with the first two having become S Class, and Mira on her way of becoming S Class. Having settled in rather well with Fairy Tail, to the point a good few people wished to go with him on S Class missions, even having little fights over it.
Though he ended up going with Cana for this particular mission, and is giving her some advice on her becoming an S Class mission, and their mission ended up taking them towards Cait Shelter, meeting Wendy and Carla for the first time, while a certain Celestial Spirit Mage seems to have her eyes on Genki's key, so we shall see how that plays out.
