Her belly got bigger in the last months, and she was about to give birth. It was late on a summer night and Naruto wasn't at home. He was probably drinking somewhere. He never returns. He hates the sad atmosphere in the house. He wants to be happy with his friends.
Hinata had contractions that started an hour ago. And she knew it was time. She took her bag and walked Boruto slowly in pain to the Hyūga compound. It was already late to take her to the hospital plus they have a doula in the compound that delivered all the babies.
She gave home-delivery to a beautiful girl with black indigo hair like hers and whiskers on the cheeks like Bolt. She remembered how Sasuke lifted her with one arm and took her to the hospital in no time. How much he was worried about her in the delivery room. How he stayed with her and held her hand. She wished those kids were his, he would be a great father. She remembered how he called her 'Hinata' for the first time. She misses him so much.
She remembered the sunflowers Sasuke planted for her in the garden. It was Neji's favourite flower and it starts with H like the norm in the Hyūga clan. So Hinata named her daughter Himawari.
After hours, Naruto heard the news and ran to the Hyūga main house. He found her asleep in her old room. Her daughter is next to her. She is so beautiful. He woke Hinata up and congratulated her loudly.
The baby fussed and Hanabi and Hiashi woke up and went to Hinata's room.
Naruto smelled awful and was shouting happily.
They calmed him down and brought him to the guest room to sleep.
In the morning, Hiashi wanted to talk to Naruto in the meeting room. It was serious.
"I was silent all the time, but don't think I don't know what is going on."
"I don't know what you're talking about otou-san," Naruto said, scratching his nape.
"Hinata is in very bad condition, she is so thin and weak, she had barely enough strength to give birth, she could have died. And you... you are ignoring her and drinking everynight. Don't you?" Hiashi was furious.
"I don't drink everynight. And Hinata doesn't want to eat most of the time. I take her sometimes to eat ramen. But she doesn't have any appetite."
"Because you're an idiot, you have to be there for her and your son. He needs you too. You should go home early and spend your time with your family then they will feel better."
Naruto was surprised, Hiashi never talked to him like that. But he is right. He neglected his wife for a long time, even Sasuke told him to take care of her.
"and Naruto, Ramen is no food." and he got up and left him. He could argue with him that ramen is the best food in the world. But he was afraid it wasn't the time to do that. He was afraid he would get one of his gentle fists.
Naruto was informed that Hinata will stay until her health gets better. He visited them every now and then but he was determined to take better care of Hinata once she got home. He took Bolt for walks in the park and to the training grounds, while Hinata was busy with the newborn.
Hinata liked to stay in the compound next to the Uchiha district and didn't want to return home. She couldn't go out the first week. But later she wanted to go out and walk, she told Hanabi. She went home and brought her teddy panda. And visited the Uchiha district like she usually does.
She made it her routine to go to the neighbouring compound with the kids. Dust the house, tend to the garden and chickens, she even had white rabbits.
She saw the change in Naruto, he was often there for them. He cared for her and the kids and spent time with them as much as he could.
Her health got better and her relationship with her husband changed.
After a couple of months, she went home with her family. And on the night Naruto was able to convince her to sleep together and stay in bed until morning.
It felt so weird like the first-time having sex together. She felt guilty for betraying her love... with her husband. But Naruto was so gentle, loving and cared about her satisfaction and pleasure. She thought it was a one-time thing and didn't dwell on it. But Naruto was determent to bring their sex-life back and was in their bed... every night.
She could escape his nagging sometimes using the kids or tiredness as excuses. But he never gave up -as usual- and kept on trying to get her aroused and wanting to share some fun.
She saw Sasuke during most of their lovemaking. He would flash by and she would get hornier and enjoy herself more. Afterward, she would cry about how idiot she is, imagining Sasuke. He will never be there, never make love to her.
The memory of Sasuke disappeared with time and Naruto conquered her life again. Until a few years before he became Hokage.
During that period, Naruto got back to his habits. He drank too much and went back to sleeping in his home office. He was in the tower most of the day and didn't return until late at night.
She wore the black clothes Sasuke loved on her. And she cut her hair short. It took a lot of maintenance and with two little kids she didn't have the time for it.
The day Naruto became Hokage was a crazy one. Naruto drank a lot the night before and his friends brought him home wasted, then the kids tore Himawari's teddy panda in two. E18
Hinata was drained after healing Naruto from the Gentle Fist Himawari gave him. They all went to the after-party. Then returned home. She made dinner and she sewed the teddy back together. It pained her so much to see the gift of Sasuke in pieces like that. It is too precious. She loved it more than Himawari did.
She could feel Sasuke's scent very strongly while sewing. Is this smell coming from the teddy?
Sasuke thought he'd forget her if he had a girl at night. It didn't help, he only saw Hinata, only felt her, only smelt her and tasted her.
No girl could make him forget her. Only made him want to be with the real one more. He used the Jutsu that Orochimaru taught him to get his lust under control.
He could get his desire under control but he couldn't get her out of his mind. No Jutsu could do that.
He walked around the five big nations and collected very important info in those years.
He got an invitation from Naruto for the Carnation. But he doesn't want to appear publicly in the village, afraid his enemies would find out he had a daughter in Konoha and harm her.
He came in the night to Naruto's home office. He found him there. Sasuke's chakra was masked so no one could sense him. Especially her. The house smelled like her delicious cooking, like her delicious fragrance. He must go quickly.
"Congrats Dobe" he stood in the window frame.
"Sasuke, you're here. Thanks, Teme. So, clad you could come." cheerful as usual.
"How is Sarada?" he said in a monotone. Moving into the room.
"You didn't visit your daughter?" was shocked.
"I don't want to bring her any harm. No one must know there is an Uchiha beside me. I found out there are a lot of enemies out there. You must protect her Naruto and keep her existence a secret." he said in a very serious tone.
"Don't worry Sasuke, she is safe in Konoha, I'm the Hokage now, the whole village is my family and responsibility, and no harm will come. Besides, I and Kakashi-sensei always check on Sakura and make sure they are fine and don't need anything." Naruto grins.
"Of course you do," he said uninterested.
"Sarada-chan is a very adorable child. She often comes and plays with the kids."
Sasuke's eyes watered, he wished he could see her, how much she has grown up. She must be ten years old by now. Time flies by so quickly.
"I must leave now, see you soon Dobe." and he jumped from the window.
Hinata heard them talking. She went outside after him when he left.
"Sasuke-Kun," she called in a low voice.
"H.. Hinata" he was surprised she found out he was there.
She felt his confusion. "I told you, you can mask your chakra but not your scent from me" years with the Inuzuka made her a scent expert too.
He thought back to what she told him during their lovemaking the last time they met. He frowned.
"I missed you, soo much" and she approached to hug him. He transferred them to the Hokage Monument.
"Hinata, what are you doing? Aren't you afraid Naruto or somebody will see us? " He was glaring angry.
"I can't believe you are real," she said, her hands folded in front of her heart looking up at his pretty face. He hasn't changed at all. He looked tired and thinner. He is wearing her black, purple cloak. Her heart pounds so hard in her chest.
He looked better at her. She looked so beautiful in that black outfit. But what did she do to her long tresses?
"Sasuke-Kun, please say you're going to stay," she said in a very sad tone.
"I can't, I'm not done with my mission... I told you I'm never returning to Konoha, I just wanted to congratulate Naruto on his new position," he said angrily. He wasn't angry with her, but with himself. He thinks about Sarada whom he couldn't visit.
"I heard Sarada often visits, please take care of her." his voice softened.
"Don't worry about her, she is like one of my kids"
He was so happy to hear her say that, he knows she is the best mother ever and wished she was Sarada's real mother. He transferred them back to the mansion.
"Take care, Hinata" and he vanished.
He felt so relieved that he saw her. His feelings for her changed. He is not angry with her anymore. He felt maybe they could be back to just friends. She looked astonishing, she must be in her thirties but she looked like a twenty-year-old girl.
Why did she cut her beautiful indigo hair?
It suited her with that black ensemble honestly.
He missed her so much too. He wanted to stay and watch her more.
She stayed a while outside of the house. Then Boruto came looking for her and they walked inside. She glanced back one more time and he could see tears leaving her chin.
She wiped her face and went inside.
Hinata thought long about how he pushed her, how he glared at her and how he was angry. She never expected him to be like that with her. He is really done with her, he has forgotten their love. She felt depression hit her again after the visit of Sasuke. She closed her room on herself and closed the blinds and curled in her bed most of her time. Back in the memory of her love. The look in his eyes, brought her back to the night he left her on the bathroom floor.
He told her she is just a bored housewife toying with her husband's best friend. He never believed her love for him though he knew she dreamed of him and longed for his touch.
She betrayed him with Naruto... for so long. She forgot him. She forgot his memories and his love. She doesn't deserve his love. She doesn't deserve anyone 's love. She hates herself. What kind of a mother is she? She betrayed her friend Sakura too. She betrayed them all.
She couldn't face reality anymore. Seeing anyone was too much for her. Sometimes she tells Boruto to take his sister to the compound and stay there for the night.
Sleepover was fun, grandpa Hiashi pampered them with gifts and sweets. And aunty Hanabi made fun activities and trained lightly with them.
Hinata would close her room door and give herself to sobs until she faints. Sasuke will never come back; she must stop lying to herself, his visit is an exception. He told her he is never coming back to Konoha. And he didn't for eight years. She waited everyday. But he didn't and he never will return.
All those years she had faith and hope. She believed Sasuke might, maybe, come back. And that is why she stayed and waited on him. But now it's over. She gifted the chickens, the rabbits, the koi fishes and the plants and closed the Uchiha residence. Never return there again. She will forget Sasuke, like he forgot her. She is done with that chapter of her life.
Her health was worsening everyday. She got so thin; she could barely stand on her feet. She wore baggy clothes and many layers to cover her ill figure. She avoided her father afraid that he would blame Naruto again.
But her kids needed her, especially Hima. Mrs. Uzumaki was back to using antidepressant and anti-insomnia that Sakura recommended many years ago. She begged her not to tell Naruto. But somehow, he knew. She didn't deny she is tired and barely can sleep at night.
She looked ill. She can't lie to him. He sent for Tsunade. But she couldn't do anything to her but gave her an antidepressant like Sakura did. Her condition is emotional. He must take care of her more. But he was too busy. He can't neglect the villagers and stay with her at home.
Thanks to the medicine she could get out of bed and look after her kids. She dragged herself everyday to be a good mother to her kids and Sarada who was often by them due to her working mom.
But seeing the mini copy of Sasuke made her condition worse. Those onyx big eyes. That pale Uchiha pointy face. That spiky raven hair. Even her movements and facial expressions all like him. She loved her so much but it hurts to see her too. How can she forget him? After all these years he was all that she wanted, still.
No, she must stop and go back to her life with Naruto and her kids. She made bento boxes and went to his office like Temari did.
They ate their lunch; Naruto was so happy she was there but after lunch he was back to his scrolls and ignored that she was there completely.
It wasn't easy for her to make the first move with Naruto. She never did, he was always the one to make the first move. He could refuse her and neglect her so easily. Unlike with Sasuke, she could lay down next to him, hug him, even kiss him, he would never push her away. It was so easy, so natural. Until he changed and was filled with a dark aura.
She was always filled with fear of rejection. Her father's disappointment in her and considering her as a weakling and a shame on the hyuga main house always haunted her. She heard what he told Kurnai sensei, that she is worthless to him. He never recognized her abilities no matter how strong she became. He rejected her over and over. Then later with Naruto, he was always busy and tired and his excuse was that he wanted to prove himself worthy to rule the village. He must be the best he could and she paid the price. She never asked for anything for herself because she has the fear of being rejected and she won't get the courage to ask twice.
Shikamaru came back from his lunch break. She got up and went home. The Nara noticed her sadness and her bad health.
He told Temari about it. She knows that already, she visited her many times and couldn't find her home. But Hanabi told her she is not feeling well, and doesn't see anyone.
She visited her again. Luckily this time she opened the door.
"Hinata dear it has been so long, how are you?" Temari said worried.
"Fine, I'm just stressed with kids and Naruto-Kun is very busy and barely home, that is it." she said, stressed.
"You don't look fine, talk to me Hinata, you know you can tell me everything." Mrs. Nara said, arching a brow.
"I saw Sasuke-Kun... I can't forget him... after all these years I couldn't forget him. No matter what I do. I thought I got my life back, but then he shows up and I'm back to the moment he left. What should I do? I feel like I'm dying inside. I don't want this, I want to be a normal loving wife and mother but I can't, I can't get him out of my mind." she sobbed, tears rolled from her eyes burning her.
"You are killing yourself if you continue like this. Look at you. I hardly recognized you. Do you love Naruto too? If you don't love Naruto anymore why are you still with him? Why don't you divorce him?" She was a little confused.
"and after I divorce Naruto-Kun, will I have Sasuke-Kun? He told me he is never coming back; he was here just to congratulate Naruto-Kun on his position. Even more, I can't divorce Naruto-Kun, I made a promise, I will never go back on my word, that is my ninja way." She said determined.
Temari looked at her for a moment. Then she fell on her back laughing so hard. Hinata got so confused. What is so funny?
Temari calmed down and cleared her throat.
"ok... ok listen Hinata I can't believe that is why you clung to Naruto all these years. That nindo of yours can't be put on every aspect of your life. Life is more than a ninja way. We are humans. Maybe in a battle that would work but not in daily life. We change, we have different interests as we grow up and not everything works forever. Some things just don't work and then we have to let them go. We can't cage ourselves in prison for eternity and say it's my ninja way. There is more to life than this cage. You have to go out, explore and find out your happiness. You have to set yourself free Hinata. You have been suppressed your whole life. First from your father then your crush on Naruto, and before you got free from him, he caged you again and you married and got kids. What did you get from this marriage? Are you happy? It's time to forget that nindo, you're not even a ninja anymore." Temari looked so serious.
Hinata was quiet just thinking about it. It was hard to leave Naruto. What will happen to him? and the kids?
No, she will never do that. Her father will be so disappointed. What will they say about the Hokage? He can't have his household under control, how would he govern the village?
What would Sasuke say? Now after all these years, you left your husband? Like he would come back to me. He is never returning.
Temari left but Hinata couldn't stop thinking about what she said.
Could she divorce Naruto? They are practically separated; they barely see each other. Like they are strangers. Divorce wouldn't change anything for him or her. It's only a status thing. No, she will gain nothing from divorcing Naruto now. Had Temari said that eight years ago or before, maybe!! She would be with Sasuke now. She didn't know she could be free of her nindo. That she could be set free. That she has a choice in her life. That she had a second chance in love.
Sarada hasn't visited anymore, she and Boruto have been fighting a lot lately and can't stand each other. She is grown up and can stay alone at home or visit her best friend Chocho Akimichi. Sakura even sends her to buy vegetables and cook dinner!E17
Hinata tried to be a good mother at least, now she doesn't see Naruto at all to be the best wife she could.
She spends most of her time at home with Himawari. Boruto always had stuff to do. After the academy , he would hang around with his best friend Shikadayi or play games. He was unorganised like his father but a very intelligent boy. He is obsessed with Hero Kagemasa, who has red evil eye. He is a strong ninja and fights evil in the shadows. That sounds familiar!
Hinata told her kids many times how she came to know their father in the academy.she was like a machine repeating the same frases over and over, making herself and her kids believing why Naruto was never there and that he is a great father. That he was a troublemaker that is why people treated him as a burden. But he was amazing in reality. Boruto would remind her that he neglects her and Himawari all the time. Boruto doesn't consider himself neglected; he doesn't need his father in his life. Hinata then tells him that the village is safe because he as Hokage and others (like Sasuke-Kun) protect it. She tried to make them love their father but his continuous absence is not helping.E1

One day Boruto told her he wants to learn to summon a giant snake. She was shocked. He didn't know that Sasuke summons snakes. How did this idea come to his mind?E4
Naruto was busier than ever with the new position. He barely returns home anymore. He stayed day and night in the tower. He slept there in his own suite. He only visits to pack fresh clothes worth a month of staying away. E10
He told Hinata that he has a new dream, to make the villagers save and serve them the best he can. E18 She was shocked. She will never be part of his dreams. He is always chasing new dreams that don't involve her.
Boruto was getting more of a troublemaker and searching for his father's attention, recognition and acknowledgement which made her sadder than she already is. Naruto blamed her for his behaviour, that she is too soft with Bolt. He embarrassed him in front of the four Kages and the whole village by painting "idiot" on his monument face.E24
Hypocritically, Naruto always treated Bolt like a child and never believed that he was powerful enough to protect himself or others.E11
He accused her for pampering the kids and smothering them too much like Himawari, who was around ten years old but still treated like she was three.
Sasuke tried to meet with Naruto in the tower or outside of Konoha, he told him to tell Sakura he is sorry for everything (for leaving her with the burden of raising a child alone). Naruto felt sorry too for having Sasuke sacrifice his family-life to make sure Konoha is safe. E15
I watched Shipudden or fragments many times, never got enough of it. But rewatching Boruto was a torture honestly.
Orichimaru Lust Control Jutsu is from my invention. I think he must know one.
