Lost

Chapter Two

Percy followed Sarah Jane up a second flight of stairs, stopping at a yellow wooden door.

"Are you ready?" Sarah Jane asked.

"Yeah," Percy said.

"Welcome to my world."

Opening the door, Sarah Jane and Percy walked in side. While Sarah Jane moved toward a brick wall, Percy's eyes wandered all over the room. They fell upon old newspaper articles with headlines reading "Alien among us," factory producing strange drink to alien invasion along with many more upon the wall.

It didn't take long for Percy to notice the strange collections of devices, statues, along with other gizmos he couldn't identify spread cross the tables and bookcase. From a sliver like stone glisten bright to a cube that seem to change color every time he blinked. But it was a purple goo in a jar that seem to dance inside that caught his eyes. As he moved closer to the jar, the goo moved around the jar even more. Retching his hand out toward the jar, Sarah Jane took a hold of his wrist while placing the white cloth back over the jar.

"Sorry about that. It always seems to come uncovered," Sarah Jane said, looking in to Percy's eyes.

Shaking his head, the weird sensation he felt went away. Sarah Jane smiled as he followed her over to a brick wall. Unsure if he should say something, Percy kept quiet.

"Mr. Smith, I need you," Sarah Jane said.

Taking a few steps back as smoke emerge from the wall and creaked open. Soon a gigantic screen appears through the smoke along with a board filled with levers, buttons, dials and a huge keyboard.

"A super computer?"

"Yes, this is Mr. Smith, a Xylok integrated with a computer that I helped him build," Sarah Jane said

"Cool, uh hello Mr. Smith," Percy said, waving.

"Hello Percy," Mr. Smith replied.

"aliens and alien tech never though it would be real, but then same goes with Greek myths,"

Sarah Jane nodded as she smiled. He wasn't wrong there, but it was time to get back to why she came up here.

"Now Mr. Smith, why did you call for me?" Sarah Jane asked.

"This emergency news broadcast has suddenly surfaced within Ealing," Mr. Smith said, bringing up the new on the screen.

The two watched as a horned bull creature ramming mutable police cars, sending a few police men flaying while over a dozen of scaly gray flaying creature swooped down from the sky, snatching up the policemen shooting at them. Screams filled the air flowed by roars along with screeching so loud it shattered the police car windows along with the builds close by, even causing the camera crack.

"Minotaurs and furies...they know I am here," Percy said.

"Mr. Smith, where is this?" Sarah Jane said.

"Downtown, five miles from this location," Mr. Smith replied.

"Then we have little time. Have you completed your analysis on the previous scans?" Sarah Jane asked.

"No, it's only 25% complete," Mr. Smith replied.

"Scans?" Percy asked.

"From the cube, you keep close. I wouldn't dare take it from you, so I scanned it and Mr. Smith's trying to find out what it is," Sarah Jane explained.

"Ah, okay, what did you find out?" Percy asked.

"Mr. Smith, you heard him." Sarah Jane said.

"There are time-space particles with in the cube." Mr. Smith said.

"Like Artron energy?"

"No, I cannot identify it."

"Okay, so it is possible that he had been brought over here by a space pocket?" Sarah Jane asked changing the subject.

"Yes, from the traces of the time-space particles found on his clothes, it's likely." Mr. Smith confirmed.

"Whoa space pockets?" Percy asked, feeling a bit confused.

Sarah Jane scratched her chin as she pondered how to explain what they were talking about to Percy.

"A space pocket is like a mini transporter. If you step through, it can transport you to another location. It can be as small as being transported down to the street or big as being transported all the ways across the globe or even space,"

"So, we find one of those space pockets and I jump in problem solved," Percy said.

"It's not that simple. The pockets are random," Sarah Jane added.

"It never is," Percy said, shaking his head sighing.

Sarah Jane made her way over to her desk, pulling out what looked like a few lipsticks. Stuffing them in her purse, Percy tilted his head as he looked at Sarah Jane, who merely smiled.

"I'll explain later," Sarah Jane said, putting her mobile in her pocket and grabbing her keys.

"Alert, creatures converging on to Bannerman road," Mr. Smith warned.

Looking at her Percy, they both nodded as they ran out of the attic.

Running outside, Percy hopped into the passenger seat of the car while side and Sara Jane jumped into the driver's seat.

Turning on the ignition, a loud screech scorched the sky. Pulling out of the driveway, Sarah Jane stopped when she spotted a human like bird in the middle of the road. Its head, arms and torso of were human, but its tail and long talons and huge greenish wings were not. Within moments, five other human like birds stood beside her.

"Harpies..." Percy whispered.

Putting her foot down, Sarah Jane rammed through the harpies, but they all jumped out of the way. One landed on the roof. Percy and Sarah Jane ducked down into the seats.

"Hang on," Sarah Jane said.

Sarah Jane jerked the car, sudden turning down a street on two wheels for a moment before they touched the ground the once more. A thump could be heard. Percy looked behind them to see as the harpy hit the pavement. It was not moving. The other harpies dropped around their fallen sister, leaving Sarah Jane, and Percy enough time to escape.

"Harpies, this is getting more and more exciting every moment I am with you. I wonder what we will come across next," Sarah Jane said, bringing her foot off the gas to drive at a normal speed.

"Uh yeah," Percy said, followed by a smile. "They really want this cube. Wish I knew why."

"For now, all we can do is keep moving, for it's the only thing keeping us safe."

Back at Camp half-blood, Chiron remained by the medical tent when Dionysus, along with a student, approached him

"What is it?" Chiron asked.

"Show him," Dionysus ordered.

The student nodded and pulled out her phone. She brought up the news in the UK that held a headline unknown attack. It showed minotaurs, furies and harpies destroying downtown Ealing, along with a mixture of other creatures emerging as well.

"Reports from the UK branch show an increase active in Ealing London," the student said.

Chiron nodded, scratching his head. Why did Ealing sound so familiar to him?

"If they are there, then so is Percy. Do we have anyone station in Ealing that can help?" Dionysus asked.

That's when the light bulb turned on. Chiron knew why that word was familiar not wasting anytime Chiron took off toward the Big House with Dionysus followed behind him.

"To answer your question kind of, I hope she still remembers me."
