Lost

Chapter Six

Screams filled the gray skies of London as people were running from creatures left and right. From destroyed streets, shattering windows and throwing cars through buildings, nowhere was safe.

Then, to make matters worse, random hands were emerging from the shadows, pulling people into the dark. An officer tried to save a woman from a pair of those hands only to pulled in himself. Chaos had finally come to London, with no end in sight.

In New York City, Annabeth and Grover lean an attack against dozens of minotaurs, imps, harpies, and werewolves as portal after portal opened in Manhattan.

Chiron and Dionysus lean another team doing their best to stay alive and keep any creatures from escaping. But no matter how many creatures they defeated, more would emerge from the portals. Using their best sorceress, enchanters, wizards and witches, none of them could stop the portals from opening.

Breathing hard, a battered Chiron stood before a massive cluster of minotaurs as more creatures crowded around him. Glancing to Dionysus, who he walked up and stood beside him.

"You ready?" Dionysus asked.

Nodding, Chrion held his sword high as he charged toward the massive of creatures with Dionysus beside him along with an army of students from Camp half blood behind them. Win or lose, Chrion and the others were ready to fight and protect this world even if it meant the cost of their lives.

Meanwhile, back in a hotel in London, Sarah Jane's ears flicker from the commotion in the hallway as roars and screeches reached close to their door. Sarah Jane rushed over and shook Percy.

Yawning, Percy opened his eyes, followed by a stretch.

"Good afternoon or evening, by the looks of it," Sarah Jane said, pointing outside.

"Yeah, any luck finding a way for us to get to New York?" Percy asked as he slipped on his shoes and grab the gold cube off the end table by the bed.

Sarah Jane slipped on her purse. Turning the dial on her watch, she looked back to Percy, nodding.

"Yeah, but getting there might be tricky." Sarah Jane said.

Slipping the cube in his pocket along with his pen, Percy was about to ask what she meant when the window in their room shattered as imps and harpies flew in. Percy jumped into action, cutting the wings off the imps and kicking another outside. Sarah Jane pulled out a sonic lips stick and aimed it at the harpies and turned the dial. Screeches rang out as the imps and harpies held their heads while flying out the window flying out the.

Opening the door, two dark nymphs smiled as they screamed and reached out toward them, but Sarah Jane jumped out front and snapped a picture. As the nymphs were rubbing their eyes, Percy and Sarah Jane ran past them toward the stairway.

Percy ran down first, with Sarah Jane right behind him. Flight after flight, Sarah Jane's legs were growing weaker. Biting her lip and ignoring the twinge in her legs as Sarah Jane was lingering further and further behind Percy. As she reached the bottom floor, Percy was already out of the stairwell.

Entering the Lobby Sarah Jane took a few more steps before dropping to her knees. The adrenaline had worn off her legs ached and she could barely catch her breath like it or not. She could go no further.

Looking behind him, Percy noticed Sarah Jane on her knees in the middle of the lobby. Ignoring her motion for him to keep going, he ran over and helped her back up on her feet. As they were about to continue moving, the windows around the whole lobby shattered as two large sliver minotaurs charged in. Behind them were tons of creatures ranging from imps, dark fae, harpies, and wolves circulating all around them.

Percy was ready to fight, but Sarah Jane merely got back down on her knees and pulled Percy down with her. She held her head down as she raised her hands, nudging Percy. He sighed and did the same.

"You win. Please don't hurt us," Sarah Jane pleaded.

One of the dark nymphs moved closer to Percy. Sticking her hand in his pocket, she pulled out the gold cube that glisten in her hand in amusement. Walking away from them, the wolves moved in, showing their ivory fangs, growling.

"You can eat us but I wouldn't, for your master would be very upset if you didn't take us in alive," Sarah Jane said.

The nymph stopped and snapped her fingers, glancing to the two minotaur they nodded as they lifted both Percy and Sarah and walked toward an open portal.

"I hope you know what you're doing," Percy said.

"Trust me," Sarah Jane replied.

Back at the London Eye, Octavia turned around from watching London burn to witness a portal open. Out walked two sliver minotaurs, one holding Sarah Jane while the other held Percy. Setting them on the ground, a dark nymph approached Octavia, setting the gold cube in her hand. Smiling, she gently caressed the nymph's cheek.

Sarah Jane nudged Percy and leaned in close, pointing her head toward the massive portal emulating from the huge wheel spitting out creatures upon London.

"I am certain that can get us to New York," Sarah Jane whispered.

"Okay, now I understand why you had them bring us here, but what now? Percy asked.

"We wait."

"For what?"

"You'll see," Sarah Jane said, follow by a smile.

Elsewhere in New York, Thunder rolled across the skies as its partner lighting strike the Earth. The wind blew fiercely as rain joined in, smacking across the faces of anyone out in this storm.

One of those people was Annabeth Chase. Pulling her dagger out of the neck of a harpy, she stumbled backwards, hitting something hard. Turning around, she found Grover reaching the point of exhaustion like she was.

Dragging each other under the canopy from the coffee shop, Annabeth coughed as she looked around at the once bustling city of New York. Now a desert wasteland. Trees, cars, vendor trolleys filled the streets as a mixture of glass, mail boxes, strollers, paper and more debris covered the sidewalks.

With many people safe in homes, at least there would be fewer casualties.

With Harpies, imps chimeras and even dragons in the sky and minotaur and wolves on the ground, Annabeth wondered, could this be the end?

Shaking her head, Annabeth sat down with Grover by her side. She spotted more of her brother and sisters battered but not beaten as they also took cover under fallen store fronts.

Closing her eyes, Annabeth took a deep breath. She and the others knew this was far from over. They would relish in this moment of peace for they didn't know how it would last.

Back at the London Eye, Sarah Jane and Percy remained on their knees with two harpies and minotaurs guarding them. While a dark Nymph walked over to Octavia and placed the gold cube in her palm.

"Finally, I have it," Octavia said, staring at the glowing cube.

"Who are you?" Percy asked.

Smiling, the woman looked at Percy.

"My name is Octavia, the lady of the night and thanks to your mentor I have the cube and the conduit," Octavia said, looking at Sarah Jane.

"Conduit?" Sarah Jane asked.

"Oh, you don't know how exciting," Octavia said, followed with a smile. "Have you ever heard a voice in your mind that you can't explain?

Thinking about it, Sarah Jane remembered the pills her doctor gave her to help with the voices and headaches. Her eyes widen she never thought it would be connected to this.

"From the way you're looking at me, I don't even need your answer," Octavia said, standing only a few inches away from Sarah Jane. Bending down, she looked right into her eyes. "Touch the cube,"

"No," Sarah Jane replied, but soon a voice echoed through her mind.

"It's okay give her what she wants."

Sighing, Sarah Jane reached out her hand and laid it on top of the cube. Percy tried to move, but the minotaurs pulled him back.

Taking a deep breath, Sarah Jane closed her eyes. At first nothing happened, but then the cube grew brighter and brighter, engulfing the entire area.

"Now's our chance run,"

A hand took a hold of Percy's and before he knew it, they were running.

Once the light diminished Octavia looked down screaming for the cube was gone and so were her captives. Turning back to the London Eye, Octavia caught a glimpse of Sarah Jane looking at her while holding the cube.

"You..." Octavia seethed.

"Catch us if you can," Left Sarah Jane's lips as she jumped into the portal, pulling Percy in as well.

Octavia ran toward the portal, only for it to close just as she reached it. Kicking the ground, Octavia screamed. Taking a deep breath, she fixed her hair and looked at Bruno, who appeared with a group of minotaurs.

"I heard you scream and came as soon as I could," said Bruno before bowing slightly.

"I am fine, but I am glad you're here. It seems we are going on a trip," Octavia said.

"Where?"

"New York City. It seems my old friend has finally returned. It would be a pity not to say hello.
