Lost

Chapter Eight

Sarah Jane opened her eyes and looked at the vast darkness all around her. With echoes of murmured voices around her, she wasn't sure where to go, let along where she was. Pushing panic to the back of her mind, Sarah started walking.

The muffled voices didn't change as she walked, but they did sound familiar. Trying to listen closely, a small light formed in front of her. Sarah backs up as it the light grew. Soon a voice came from the light.

"Ah, I found you," the light said.

"Found me? Who are you?" Sarah Jane asked.

"Hm, it's best to show you touch the light." The voice said.

Filled with a mixture of curiosity, Sarah Jane reached her hand out toward the light.

"It's okay, you can trust me." The voice said.

Letting her curiosity win, Sarah touched the light. Covering her eyes, warmth encircled Sarah Jane as a pleasant breeze brushed across her skin. Taking her hands down from her face, Sarah Jane smiled. For a crispy blue sky welcomed her, along with many trees and freshly cut grass.

In the distant Sarah spotted small cottage along with a figured standing outside. Walking closer, the light formed into a woman with Crystal brown hair and emerald green eyes. Wearing a nice pink summer dress, she bows slightly at Sarah Jane.

"Hello Sarah Jane, my name is Theia," the woman said.

"As in the Lady of light Theia?" Sarah Jane asked.

"Yes, wow few people know that." Theia said.

"I'm not most people."

Theia smiled. "I can see that."

"Can I take a guess at where I am?" Sarah Jane said.

"By all means, guess away," Theia said as an outdoor table appeared with two chairs. "Have a seat?"

"Yes, thank you," Sarah Jane said, pulling out the chair. Sitting down, she sighed. It felt nice to get off her feet.

The moment Theia sat down, two tea cups appeared with a fresh pot of lemon ginger tea that tickled Sarah Jane's nose.

"Tea?" Theia asked,"

"Oh, yes please,"

Theia smiled, pouring tea in both cups. The moment she set the pot down, a small jug of creamer appeared, along with a small dish of sugar cubes. Sarah Jane took a sip. A smile spread across her lips.

"Now you said something about guessing where we were," Theia said, before taking a sip from her cup.

"At first I was thinking of an alternate dimension," Sarah Jane said before taking another sip. "But from the darkness before and the voices, I would have to say I'm in my mind."

"Correct, you are good," the gold box held my essences, and I needed a body to inhabit,"

"And I fit what you need," Sarah Jane said.

"Yes, I'm sorry,"

Sarah Jane smiled. "It's alright at least I know I 'm not crazy, so where are we now?"

"Camp Half-Blood," Theia replied.

"Ah, I'm glad Percy made it home."

"Yes, but we're not out of the woods yet. We still have to deal with Octavia."

"She's coming, isn't she?"

"Oh yeah,

I remember her; I listened to you explaining about the history between you two.

"Good...that's why I need to ask a favor. Theia paused. "When the times comes, I may need to use my full power to stop her. Is that okay?"

"Yes," Sarah Jane said, finishing her tea.

Theia smiled as she sat her cup downs. Soon the once blue sky grew lighter, along with the rest of the surroundings.

"It's time to go," Theia said.

Opening her eyes, Sarah Jane sat up, rubbing her head.

"Welcome back, Ms. Smith," a familiar voice said.

Turning to the side of her bed, she looked into the eyes of Mr. Brunner, but as she looked down, she noticed he wasn't in a wheelchair but had hooves. Having only seen centaurs in books, it was a delight to lay eyes on one in person.

"Amazing," Sarah Jane said.

"Thank you," Chiron said.

"Sorry, I'm still getting used to all of this, Sarah Jane said.

Smiling, Chiron nodded as Sarah Jane swung her feet over the edge of the bed.

"So Theia was in the cube," Chiron said.

"Yes, apparently I'm the perfect host for her," Sarah Jane replied.

"I see,"

Stand up and slipping on her shoes, Sarah Jane felt a little wobbly at first but she shook it off as she followed Chiron.

Explaining more about camp half blood and those who live here. Sarah Jane looked at the walls of all the heroes' pictures from Hercules, Perseus to Jason the picture were endless, some even dated back to ancient Greece.

Walking outside, Percy ran up and wrapped his arms around Sarah Jane. Smiling, she returned the gesture. Annabeth and Grover joined them, followed by another man with short black hair drinking a can of Dr. Pepper.

"This is Dionysus," Chron said.

"The God of Wine, a pleasure to meet you," Sarah Jane said, followed by a bow.

Impressed, Dionysus nodded as he stood by Chiron.

"Why don't you three show Ms. Smith around? I need to talk to Dionysus.

Nodding, Percy, Grover and Annabeth lead Sarah Jane away.

Chiron watched as they walked away. The moment they were gone, he let out a sigh.

"Yeah, that's exactly how I'm feeling right now," Dionysus said.

"Any word from New York?"

"The attacks have stopped completely." Dionysus replied.

"I had a feeling they would." Chiron said.

"A scout ran over to them. He bowed before opening his mouth.

"I have an update, sir. All city attacks have ceased worldwide. But there is an increase in movement towards the entrance of the camp.

"Gear up, inform everyone in the camp, Dionysus commanded.

Nodding, the scout ran off. Chiron looked at the sky.

"I figured as much."

"Yep, the last leg of the fight has finally come." Dionysus said.

Walking around the camp, Sarah Jane enjoy the sights of the cabins, tents, training grounds. She stood in awe as she gazed upon the amphitheater to see such a well crafted place brought a smile to her lips.

"Wow, while I couldn't stay here, this place is beautiful." Sarah Jane said.

"When you lived like this, most of your life, it becomes normal." Annabeth said, "While out there becomes more fascinating."

"Sarah Jane nodded. "It is for a while, but then even that becomes normal. "Treasure what you have here because you never know when you might lose it."

Looking around, Sarah Jane's eyes flickered as a voice echoes in her mind.

"Sarah Jane….."

"Yes, I can feel it." Sarah Jane said aloud.

Before the teens could say a word, guards ran past them in full leather gear and weapons while more heavy armor guards canvas the area. One of them stop and spoke to them.

"A large group is moving toward the entrance of the camp. We are asking everyone to get ready for combat." The man said.

Nodding, Percy turned to Sarah Jane, who was walking toward the edge of the camp.

Pulling out his pen, Percy ran after her with Grover while Annabeth went off to get help.

Stopping a few inches away, Sarah Jane stood there staring at Octavia, who smiled as dozens of minotaurs, harpies, nymphs and more creatures stood around her.

"Hello conduit," Octavia said.

"Hello Octavia," Sarah Jane replied.

"You know why I am here,"

"Of course, but when I look into your eyes, I see something entirely different."

Gritting her teeth, Octavia scoffed quietly. "If you give me the cube, all of this will stop."

The two stared in silence for a few moments as Sarah Jane raised her hand. Her eyes flickered as the gold cube materialized in her palm.

"I'm sorry, but that will not be happening," Sarah Jane said as crashed the box in her hand.

"So be it," Octavia said, snapping her fingers.

Multiple booming sounds echoed thought out the camp as all the creatures around the camp began ramming the barrier.

Octavia reached her hand out, touching the barrier. She smiled as her fingers steadily broke through.

"Its only a matter of time before I get thought and when I do this, who camp with be nothing but ash."

"I'd love to see you try." Sarah Jane said, followed with a smirk across her lips.
