Hi guys.
Today is the chapter, hello Canon territory. The canon plot of MHA is finally here, welcome the day of the Entrance Exam.
I'm finally prepared for the first coming action scenes for Rachel.
Just like that Christoper Nolan movie title. It's the beginning of Raven.
Raven Begins.
I'm not sure if it's a good name for it, But it's a working progress.
Let's start the fanfic.
The next day, the day of the Entrance exam.
Rachel woke up tired and she sat down on her bed.
She has no clue why?
'What the fuck happened to me? My body feels tired, and I'm sweating like a sinner in church.' Rachel thought. 'That doesn't matter. I had that fucking weird dream last night like I was floating, and some of my stuff was floating too.' Then Rachel turned pale remembering a certain part of the dream. 'Then I heard a voice, sounded male, but not human. The voice said horrible things, evil things about harming people… Maybe, it was something subconscious, like that voice was just my anxiety taking shape, perhaps it's just my anxiety towards the Hero Course, once, or if I got accepted to the Hero Course. I should get up, and get some bre–'
Rachel didn't finish her train of thought as she felt her esophagus stickling. As the girl rushed towards the washroom toilet and threw up her vomit.
"Urgh!" Oh god, here comes another one! Urgh!"
*Knock*, *Knock*
"Hey sis, is everything alright, you bumped into me when you were rushing to the washroom, then I heard you are vomiting, is everything alright?" Tenya asks his sister if she is okay.
"I'm fine, I'm just pregnant!" Rachel sarcastically said as took a few moments to pause hearing Tenya muttered reaction on the other side of the door.
"WHAT THE! WHO THE! IS HITOSHI THE FATHER? WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON HIM–" Tenya stopped as he heard laughter from his sister.
"Dear god, I'm only kidding, also Hitoshi is gay if you forget!" She replies. "Also, I'm not pregnant. I might be sick, I'm just not sure yet, but I feel tired?"
Tenya calm down, he didn't like his sister's humor, and he returns concern for his sister's health. "Alright, do you think you're sick?" he asks.
She opens the door to talk to him directly face to face. "I honestly hope not, especially since today is very important for the two of us, look I can get the first aid kit and see my body temperature, but in all honesty. I feel fine, I don't feel cold, or hot. I don't know why I throw up?" She said as she shift to a more concerned tone. "Look, I know I can be sarcastic… Like, all the time."
Tenya nodded to agree. "Go on."
"I ensure you, I'm fine. We've been training for the past 10 months, I don't want to miss the UA Entrance exam." She said as started walking to her room to get ready.
"Rachel wait!" the girl stops to listen to her older brother. "Look, I'm not judging you, and yeah a part of me, as the big brother I'm just concerned for my sister's wellbeing, but I believe you, and if you do believe you can take the entrance exam, I support you, just please let me know if you feel like… Under the weather." Tenya said giving her his support.
Rachel felt warm as she went to hug her brother, and he hug her back. "Woah, is something the matter sis?"
She continues to hug him. "It's nothing, I just had a bad dream, it's like a horror movie and my review of that bad dream is thumbs down." She looks at him with loving eyes, "Also, I love hugging my brother." as she lets go of him. "It's like meeting the boy who bump into me back at the orphanage, who later became my brother, all those years ago."
Tenya smiled back, "Yeah, and I don't regret bumping into that girl, who just wanted to read Carrie, who later became my sister." He said. "I'll see you later sis."
Later at UA high.
Later that morning, the two siblings finally arrive wearing the school's uniform. The Somie Private Academy boy's uniform in white, and the Moira Queen Polytechnic Junior High uniform for girls in green, with a longer skirt covering her knees. The Siblings are also wearing winter Attire, like mittens and scarves, due to the Mid-January chill.
Rachel and her brother couldn't believe that in front of them was UA High. Their dream school in becoming Pro Heroes, the school that their parents and Tensei went to and became heroes.
It was also where their parents met one another and fell in love.
"Woah, I can't believe we're in front of UA High. I can feel my heart beating, I am pumped and ready to take the exam." Tenya said proudly.
Rachel wants to feel exactly like Tenya, feeling joy and excitement. However, she feels nervous, and dealing with her anxiety isn't easy for someone who has to keep suppressing her emotions.
What she can do now, is to be brave, like the time she went to the roof to save Yumi Ono.
"Yeah, we can do this brother," she said in her usual tone.
Before she could even take a step she was stopped by her brother. "Rachel wait… Look, I know you have been through a lot, and moving on is the hardest thing, but you are no longer on the rooftop. I heard from Doctor Thompkins you have been taking steps to recover, but this isn't about the roof. Please, sister, tell me what's wrong?" he asks.
Rachel took a deep breath before confessing. "You're right, this isn't about the roof anymore. My sessions with Doctor Thompkins helped me cover that incident, but ever since I saved Yumi." She paused feeling an odd feeling of self-doubt. "Brother, I feel lost… I'm proud that I save Yumi's life, but I feel lost, all my life I wanted to be a hero, just like our parents and Tensei. We trained for the last 10 months, and now that the day is now here… I don't know, I don't know what is right for me?"
Rachel finally confesses, even though she saved someone's life she still has self-doubt, and according to Doctor Thompkins herself that her self-doubting is caused by her anxiety. Even though she wants to be a Hero, her anxiety is telling her no.
"Rachel, I know you since we met, and I can say this, your biggest enemy is yourself," Tenya said, and Rachel gave him a look that her brother just insulted her.
"Tenya I–
"No, you need to hear this from your brother, and I'm thankful I am your brother." Tenya interrupted his sister. "You are utterly one of the bravest people I know, and you're letting your anxiety bully you because anxiety wants your full attention? Just like Steven Urkel from the sitcoms that you like, now I'm telling you to tell your anxiety, that I'm now naming him Steven Urkel to buzz off and tell him not today, Urkel. Because you Rachel Ida, have been dreaming to be a Hero, and the opportunity is right in front of you, and guess what your not alone. Your big brother is with you, and knowing you, you're not going to let your anxiety push you around."
Rachel felt like she was just been splashed with reality like it was cold water. Her brother is right, she is stronger than what her anxiety is telling her that she isn't. "Your right, Heroes fight battles every day, and my biggest battle is not some villain, but my anxiety, and I'm done having my anxiety push me like it was a sitcom bully. True, as Doctor Thompkins said, it just requires practice." She hugged him again. "Thanks, Tenya I need that push of reality, not expectation. Come on, we need to go to the auditorium." Rachel said feeling more confident about herself thanks to her brother.
"Rachel wait, should we wait for Shinso?" he asks.
"No, he is busy admiring his new muscular body in the mirror, like his abs and pecs." She joked using her sarcastic tone. "I'm kidding, he texted me earlier, he's already inside, as for Kori, the Entrance Exam at Ketsubutsu Academy was a week ago, and according to the result, she got into their Hero Course, and also she earned the highest score in their school history."
"Really? Woah, that's very impressive." Tenya said impressed at Kori.
"Come on, I'm sure you don't want to be late at the auditorium." Rachel said as the two siblings walk to the main building of UA.
As they walk they heard an irritating loud voice behind them.
"MOVE ASIDE DEKU!" the sibling turned around to see a barking teen, with spiky ash-blond hair, wearing a black school uniform and gear. "GET OUT OF MY WAY, OR YOU'RE DEAD." the blond yelled to a nervous student with green hair.
"M-Morning. Let's both do our best." said the nervous boy in green.
"Well, he's an irritating beast of a child," Tenya said to his sister referring to the loud blond. "I wish we don't deal with him."
Rachel couldn't help but agree. "Me too, he is like a barking pomeranian." then she looked at the greenette. "Here I thought I was the nervous one. Turns out he is more nervous than I was," she said as they enter the school.
At the Hallways of UA, Tenya couldn't help but admire everything he see in the hallways of UA. On the main lobby, he sees graduates from many generations, such as All Might, Endeavor, and their parents.
Ingenium and Vortex, the speedster and the teleporter.
"Woah, sister, you have to admit that is very–"
"Kickass." Rachel interrupted his brother.
"Language!" Tenya said to her, while she just flips him the bird.
Rachel just giggles, liking how her brother reacts to bad words like when they were kids. "I know what you're going to say. Thou not speak the foul language in the sacred halls of UA, that thou, generations before us walk in this hall–"
"I do not speak like that sis, I am not Shakespeare!" He said with his robot arms. "Also, 'thou', I don't even use the word thou, I'm not a hidden tomb from an Indiana Jones movie, that warns travelers from entering my tomb… I assume I have never seen those movies."
"Me too," Rachel replied. "I have only seen Harrison Ford from Star Wars. Anyways, we should head to the auditorium." as she heads to the auditorium.
"You go ahead, Rachel, you go ahead I'm going to the washroom,"Tenya said as Rachel went ahead.
Walking ahead Rachel couldn't hall but admire UA, well, not at the level of his brother, but in her own level of admiration. She too couldn't believe she is now walking the halls of UA as an applicant, and in her hopes eventually a student of UA part of the Hero Course.
She knows she chose both General Studies in case she didn't pass the Hero Course Entrance Exam, but she wants to have her dream come true and become a Hero, just like the rest of her family.
She starts to imagine her hopes once she graduates from UA. She always wanted a life full of adventure and excitement. She dreamt of one day that she stands next to her older brothers wearing their Ingenium, and Kid Ingenium hero costumes.
There beside them was herself as a Hero and a woman, clad in her Hero costume showing of her legs. That her brothers tease her to be called, Lady Legasus, The Leg muscle Hero, and that she would wear a golden yellow leotard, cuffs, and matching high heel shoes. To kick the ass of crime.
As much as she admires her legs, she will not call herself Lady Legasus, it sounds like a bad joke from a goofy kid show.
From her daydreaming Rachel accidentally bumped into someone. "Woah-oh!"
Rachel shook her head as she notice that the person she accidentally bump into fell as well. "Ow." said the bumpy.
Embarrassed she got up and held a hand to help the bumpy, "Oh I'm sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going." she apologized.
"Nah, It's okay I'm fine, but do appreciate the help." said the bumpy, that Rachel finally notices, that the person she bumped into was another applicant just like herself, however, this person is male.
The person has blond hair, yellow like sunflowers, and there was also a black lightning bolt on one of his bangs, the boy was a bit smaller than Rachel making the girl taller among the two, and looking at his uniform, he was wearing a black gakuran similar to the uniform of the greenette from earlier outside. In which the uniform is quite common in Japanese junior high schools.
Though she does notice a certain pin on his uniform, it was a flag with the colors pink on the top and royal blue on the bottom, with an overlapping purple stripe in the middle. From her social knowledge, she recognized the flag and its meaning towards it, He shows his sexuality.
The flag reminds her of the time that she supported Hitoshi when he came out to his mom, she even wave the rainbow flag to show her support.
"Anyways, I feel embarrassed, let me introduce myself, I'm Rachel Ida, and it's nice to meet you." she gestures her hand wanting to shake the boy's hand as a sign of respect and friendship.
Though, she sometimes forgets that handshakes are more of an American gesture while bowing down is more a Japanese gesture meaning introductions and apologies. It made the boy confused by the hand gesture. However, he ends up shaking her hand in the end.
"A handshake, I'm sorry I'm so used to bowing when I introduce myself." He said embarrassed too. "I have to say, this is my first time meeting an American, like yourself, and your Japanese is flawless… Anyways, I'm Denki Kaminari, it's nice to meet you Ida," said Kaminari.
"It's nice to meet you Kaminari, thanks for the compliment I loved Japan since I was a little girl, my family is the one who taught me to speak Japanese." Rachel said. "Anyways, I'm terribly sorry, I'm heading to the Auditorium, I'm here to apply for the Hero Course."
The boy gleamed like he was the human form of sunshine. 'Is this his quirk, or is he oddly excited? He glows up as much as Kori when she gets excited and her hair is on fire.' she thought.
"That's so cool! I'm applying for the Hero Course too." then Kaminari's face turn vermillion, and Rachel can see his emotional aura being vermillion too, it was clear to her that he is embarrassed. "Though, It's uncool for me to say, I'm lost. The school is like a maze, I keep searching for the auditorium for the last 30 minutes. I race up and down trying to find it, and I feel like I'm wrong building."
Rachel continues to listen while Kaminari scrambles to explain. She felt sorry for him, and she was pretty clear he was nervous, just like herself. She wants to help him.
She recalls that she once took Aizawa's emotions and made his emotions into her own, maybe she can do something similar. Instead of taking his nervousness, why not give some of her confidence to him, and make him calm down by using her quirk?
Her empathic ability isn't flashy or noticeable, very different from her telekinesis, Helping Kaminari to calm down will help his nerves, she just has to try.
It's what a Hero would do.
As he talks, Rachel went to channel her emotions. In order for this to work, Rachel went to think of all the things that would calm her down, and once she does she ends up feeling calm. Now that she has the emotion she can transfer it.
When she accidentally took Aizawa's emotions, she took them by physically touching him. That's how she could tell the emotions of Kayama and Yamada when she was six. She hopes her theory of changing the emotions of others through physical contact would work.
She concentrated her quirk on the palm of her hand, as it gave a dim light glow. 'It's not powerful, but enough to calm a person enough. 8% sounds enough.' she thought.
"Hey Kaminari, you're going to be, fine." Rachel said as she place her palm gently on his shoulder.
Rachel can see Kaminari's emotional aura, his embarrassment and nervousness were dimming slowly. Until the two colors are gone, she hopes what she just did works.
Kaminari slows down his breathing as he finally calms down. "Yeah, your write I'm going to be just fine." He said. "Though, it doesn't change the fact I don't know where the auditorium is?"
"That's okay we can help each other, we can find the auditorium together." Rachel said. As they went to find the auditorium.
"What! The Auditorium was on the second floor all along!" Denki yelled surprised to learn where the auditorium was located at.
"Umm apparently. Two big doors, and the word, 'auditorium' surprisingly written in English, is a dead getaway." Rachel said in his usual tone.
"English, Damn It! I lack that subject, the only English I can remember was the translation for, the colors of the rainbow, the English words for the weekend, and the famous movie quote."
"What movie quote?" Rachel asks interested in the quote.
"Hasta la vista, baby!" Denki quoted in English. "It's from the movie The Terminator."
"My other brothers are fans of the movie franchise." Rachel said.
*Ding*
Rachel took her phone and saw a text message from Hitoshi and her brother. "Hey Kaminari, I hope we see each other again. My friends are waiting for me in the auditorium."
"Oh cool, I hope we meet each other again, Ida." Kaminari said as they enter the auditorium.
Entering the auditorium. It caught Rachel's surprise. It wasn't like the school auditorium from her school when the Drama club does its yearly plays. The UA auditorium looks like the auditorium from a university or college that she sometimes sees on TV.
Oddly enough she can see everyone's emotional auras, and everyone is nervous as hell.
Finally, she finally spotted her best friend. "Good morning Hitoshi."
"Rachel, finally I've been quite nervous I can handle the written exam, but the Hero Course Entrance exam… I feel fuck" Hitoshi said nervously.
"No, you're not fucked. I feel nervous too, everyone feels like their chances are fucked, trust me I can see it." Rachel said as she sat down.
"I believe you, and wow everyone is feeling nervous as fuck." Hitoshi said, in relief that he isn't the only one who is nervous. "I wish Kori is here. She's such a good friend, and I'm not ready to say goodbye," he said in a sorrowful tone.
Rachel can see what Hitoshi is doing, he's using his feelings for their friend, to have his focus on something else outside his nervousness about the exam.
She placed her hand on his shoulder. "Hitoshi, you're going to be alright, and I'm going to miss Kori and Yumi too, but whatever happens I'm here for you, I promise."
Hitoshi smiled knowing that Rachel is with him in this for them to become Pro Heroes. "Let's be Heroes Rachel."
Rachel just smiled back, knowing they were not alone in this journey.
The whole room went black, as the stage turned on the screens and spotlights. On stage there was a familiar-looking hero, wearing black leather, and has his long hair gelled in a mohawk.
"Hey, It's Present Mic!" Hitoshi said, excitedly.
"Welcome to today's live event, Little listeners! Everybody say, Hey!" The Hero shouts. As no applicant went to shout.
Rachel could hear someone nervous mumbling that was coming from a lower floor. 'Who the hell can mumble this loud? It's so annoying.'
"Well, that's cool, applicants listeners!" Present Mic said. "I'm here to present the guidelines of your practical! Are you ready?!" Everyone yelled, 'yeah' as a response.
'The nervous mumbling is getting louder and louder. Please stop, everyone is nervous enough.' Rachel thought.
Then on the screen, it showed the testing areas. Having letters from A. to G. and each site is different. Rachel saw a city theme, a factory, and Suburban Neighborhood. Then in the scene, it showed 3 faux villains with different point values.
"This is how the test will go, my listeners! You'll be experiencing 10 minutes long exam." Present Mic said. "As you can see, each test site is different base on the cards that were given to you when you applied. You can bring along whatever you want! After this presentation, you'll each take the written exam, and once the written exam is over there are bus marks in the letters of the test sites, and from this school year, where are only allowing 36 applicants and among those accepted applicants, they are part of the 40 students of the Hero Course. "
"My exam is located in test C," Hitoshi said. "Which test location are you in?"
Rachel went to check. "I got Test site G. Damn it, we're not in the same location sorry Hitoshi." She apologizes to her friend. "Sadly, this also means Tenya would be in a different location, he got test site B. that's the city site, and I got a suburban neighborhood."
Hitoshi sighs from frustration, "I got Forest's site."
"Each site is filled with three kinds of faux villains."
'Please, let it be volunteer actors! 'Please, let it be volunteer actors!' Hitoshi repeatedly said mentally.
"Points are awarded for defeating each according to their respective difficulty levels!"
Hitoshi paled as the screen showed that the faux villains are robots, not organic just patted his back. "There, There," she said comforting the friend.
"Use your quirks to disable these faux villains," Present Mic said. "Each point that your goal listeners, of course playing a sore player and attacking other applicants is prohibited!
"I'm done for Rachel, my quirk won't work on robots!" Hitoshi sadly said.
"Hey, there is still you're physical combat that you learn from Kori, don't lose hope Hitoshi." Rachel said, hoping that her friend would pass the upcoming exam.
'Strange I read the application handout that the faux villains are four, not three.' Rachel thought. 'Was there a misprint?'
Her thoughts are answered as her brother stood up and asks Present Mic. "May, I ask a question?" Tenya said as he let out his question. "There appear to be fewer than four varieties of faux villains on the handout. Such a blatant error, if it is unbecoming for this country's top Academy. We're all here today in the hopes of becoming model Heroes, such as All Might, Endeavor, and the Doom Patrol." One of the other applicants cheered when Tenya mentioned the Doom Patrol.
"Geez, I can't believe your brother had to mention that tiny small misprint," Hitoshi said sweat dropping after listening to Tenya.
"Yup, that's my dork of a brother." Rachel said.
Tenya turned around and pointed at someone, when she looked it was the same greenette from earlier.
"You've been mumbling this whole time! It's distracting" Tenya said. "If this is some sort of game to you, then leave."
Rachel loves her brother but doesn't improve his action. 'Seriously Tenya, I get he's annoying, but that was unnecessary everyone is nervous enough. Even him of all people.' Rachel thought.
"Alright, applicant 7111, nice catch. Thanks!" Present Mic replied. "The 4th faux villain variety gets you zero points. It's more of an obstacle. Have you ever seen Super Mario gameplay?"
Rachel wasn't a gamer, her only time to play any video game is at the Arcade. Her only knowledge of Super Mario was with Mario Kart, in the arcade. When they take your picture.
"Rachel, I think what Present Mic is trying to explain is that the Zero Pointer isn't important, and just ignore it at all causes," Hitoshi explained.
"It's that the case, just runs away from the robot." Rachel said, trying to understand Super Mario rules.
"That's all from me, Little Listeners! As a famous book character once said. May the odds be ever in your favor, and from our school's motto. Plus Ultra!" As Present Mic finishes his presentation. Every applicant went to the written exam, though Rachel is confident that she can pass the written exam. The practical Hero Course exam is a whole different issue.
1 hour and 30 minutes later.
Rachel is now riding the bus heading to Test site G. The written exam was quite easy for her, the subjects were just Math, English, and Japanese. Now she just calming her nerves for the practical exam.
Her gym clothes almost make her look like a boy. She's wearing a Russian tracksuit in which the jacket is looser, making her chest look flat.
Clothing doesn't matter at the moment, scoring on the exam is more important.
'Shit!' Rachel mutters, remembering that she didn't meditate today, the whole point of meditating is for her quirk control is the only way. She does have her smartphone but she doesn't have her earphones, and inside the bus isn't one would call peaceful. She can see everyone's aura and they are all nervous.
She can only hope now, that she would do well in the practical exam.
Arriving, at Test site G.
Finally reaching the destination. Rachel got off the last of three buses of Test site G, and she saw the other applicants who arrived much earlier. That felt unfair because they have more time to get themselves prepared for the upcoming practical exam.
There was no point to whine and pout, she decided to check out the other applicants. One of the applicants was just like her, An American, However the only thing that makes her different that she was African American, and she seems younger due to her height. Though Rachel likes her yellow and black stripe outfit, she really admires her curly hair tied in two twin buns. The outfit alone makes her look like a bee, and looking around she looks like she has two homemade gadgets, Rachel isn't sure what is it for maybe it's for her quirk?
The other applicant was male wearing a white and red gym clothes. What truly makes him stand out is his very clear mutation quirk, because his skin color and hair are green.
There was also a boy with silver hair and shirtless, a frog girl, a muscular guy with packs of sugar, a teenage girl with ginger color hair in a side pony, a guy with a comic book word bubble for a head, and lastly the barking pomeranian.
Rachel hopes if he ends up passing, she hopes he isn't in the same classroom as him.
She also notices the pomeranian's friend isn't here either. She sighs, praying for a miracle that someone familiar would be here at the same test site as her. It was just too bad that her brother is at site B, Hitoshi at site C, and Kori isn't even applying for UA, as for Yumi she has to repeat the ninth grade.
'If there is any deity out there, please give me a sign that there is someone I know in this site, just to please my nerves, please anybody–' Her train of thought has stop when someone gave her a hug.
"Ida! Thank goodness your here! My prayers have been answered!" they said as they tears up to show how grateful they are.
Rachel got a better look at who was hugging her, and it turns out it was a boy she met earlier in the hallways. "K-Kaminari, your here too," she said surprised to see him again.
"I was getting worried, apparently none of my classmates were on the same site as me! Thank whatever deity was listening, they sent you to me!" He cried as he let go of the hug.
"It's nice to see you again Kaminari, how well did you do on the written exam?" Rachel ask.
Kaminari's face turned pale just from the question. "I- I don't think I do well, like I said, English isn't my strongest subject, I bet you did well?" he asks.
Rachel decided to spare his feelings and not brought up the fact that she did the written exam. "Well, at least you are here now at the Practical exam, and I wish you good luck Kaminari."
Kaminari just beams up. "Alright, I forgot as applicants were not allowed to help another. Geez, and you're really nice like we're just strangers, and among everyone here, I hope you get accepted too." he said.
Rachel blushed at the compliment as she replies back. "Thank you Kaminari, and I wish you pass as well, and I hope you get accepted. Who knows we might end up being classmates?"
Kaminari blushes too, as he rubs the back of his neck. "Geez, you're so nice, and I do want us to be classmates and to be frie–"
Kaminari wasn't able to finish his sentence as the speaker phone let out Present Mic's voice. "What's wrong? THE TEST'S STARTED! RUN! APPLICANTS! RUN!"
'Shit' thought the both of them as everyone starts running.
In a room back in the main UA building. There was a room filled with screens, that was the room where the judges of the Heroes course were watching the applicants.
There were exactly seven members of the staff at the moment. Though there are familiar faces in the room those were being, the Voice Hero of the East, Present Mic, the Rated R Hero, Midnight, and of course the two homeroom teachers of class 1A and Class 1B.
Shota Aizawa, also known as the Eraser Hero, Eraser Head is the current homeroom teacher of Class 1A, and next to him is the news staff member of UA. An African Woman that appears to be around the age of 26. The niece of a good friend of Principal Nezu, from the US government, John Jones. This is Megan Morse, and the Hero name that she goes as, Ms. M.
"So, have seen anyone that interested you guys?" asked one of the judges wearing a cowboy outfit.
"So far so good it's just the beginning after all," Morse said.
"Well, there are two applicants that did catch my attention." Midnight said as she zoomed in towards applicants from site B. and site G. "I spy with my two little eyes, I see our dear friend, Mr. Goosepickles' little brother and little sister."
Mic got his eyes to widen. "Holy Crap, your right Nemuri, Geez, it's been years since we saw them, last time they were six years old," he said in his surprise.
"Now, their 15-years-old, and they have gotten stronger since then," Aizawa said impressed towards the Ida siblings.
They watch as the siblings go into action.
There was Tenya going a more physical approach and using his engine quirk to give him a boost to destroy the robots, and he already reach 19 villain points in the last 2 minutes. While the sister on the hand was using her telekinesis quirk, smashing the robots like she was destroying them like they were toys, by ripping them apart and having another robot crushing on another robot.
"Geez, she ripping those robots like they were made of butter, or a toddler ripping their teddy bear apart." said the Support Course teacher.
"Well, the brother is more physical and muscle, while the sister is using her quirk the most, she doesn't even land a punch. "Moris said, "Then again, Mic did say to use their quirks and her score already surpass her brother's score, now standing in 25 points, and it's only been 3 minutes."
Then one of the judges zoomed in towards an applicant from site B, the boy with green hair. "Well, as much the Ida siblings are impressive, what do you guys think of this applicant?" the judge asks.
The screen showed the applicants running around, searching for a villain bot.
The other judges are not impressed. "No offense All Might, but he isn't that impressive." Midnight return to test site G. Showing a spiky hair ashed-blond. Using his quirk to make the robots explode.
"He has firepower I can say, however. I have my eye on another blond, the one with the copy quirk at test site A." Morse said.
Aizawa is trying to be fair and try to watch every potential of all the applicants. However, just like the rest of the staff, he got his eye on a single applicant. Tensei's little sister, Rachel Ida.
7 minutes left.
'33 points and it's not enough.' Rachel thought as she destroyed another robot. 'I have to keep going.'
Rachel went running to search for more villain bots all around the suburban neighborhood. Sadly she can only hear an explosion assuming that was the quirk of another applicant.
Until she heard tracks that were heading towards her, as she turns around there were more robots for her to destroy.
Rachel gets herself ready by channeling her quirk towards her hands as they glow black with a purple aura around them, and she concentrates on a part of the robot that she can use against those dozen coming towards her.
She uses her telekinesis toward the one in front covering it with the black glow, as she rips them into two. Then she uses the remaining parts as a projectile and throws them at the front row making them exposed from impact.
The robots from the second row, fire their missiles toward her. However, the missiles that were fired, were now under the telekinetic control of Rachel as they were covered by the black glow from her quirk.
As she fires the missile back toward the ones who fired them destroying all 12 robots in the process.
"That makes it 52, I think it's not enough villain points." Rachel said as she saw more robots coming her way.
She uses the stop sign near her and uses it as a makeshift javelin by using her quirk and throws it at the 3 robots.
"Now it's 55 villain points." Rachel said, happy with her score.
From a distance, she sees Kaminari using his quirk to electrify the robots around him.
'So that's his quirk, electricity. It looks cool on him.' Rachel thought as she continues to hunt more robots for her points.
The UA staff continues to watch this year's applicants.
"Woah, many of them are impressive," Morse said with glee.
"Yeah, however sadly we can only allow 36 students, while the other 4 were tested yesterday for the recommendation student exam yesterday." Midnight explained.
"Well, now, let's just see how would they react to the Zero Pointer?" Aizawa asks as he pushes a button to release the zero-pointer robot. "The whole point of the Zero Pointer is to test their fight or flight responds, we'll know who among them are the future Heroes-in-training for the future of our Hero Society."
They all watch as the Zero Point rises above the ground from each and every test site.
"Yeah, take a taste of my Electricity!" He said as another faux villain was destroyed by him. "Sweet, and if I'm right, I reach 56 villain points, and by the looks of it there are only 2 minutes left."
Denki Kaminari was having the time of his life, True, since this morning he was stressed as fuck, but once he met Ida earlier in the Hallway. He feels peachy, like a bowl of peach that was watered down from cold water, ready and clean to eat.
True, Ida is a cute girl, but he wouldn't try his luck on her, because seems meeting her, she was nothing more but nice and generous. She was almost like a big sister type, the type of girl that Denki would like to be BBF with instead of making her into his GF.
True, he is bisexual, but asking someone out on a date at a time like this, would him sound desperate and needy. I think.
Anyways, he needs to keep searching for more villain bots,
'Geez, there better be more villain bots somewhere in this suburban neighborhood.' Denki thought decided to keep searching for more villain bots.
Then he sees her.
'Wait, that's Ida!' Denki saw a demonstration of her quirk as she rips apart robots in half with her quirk. Making the boy gulp. 'OMG, that was awesome and scary. Note to self, don't make Ida san angry, or I'll end up exactly like that robot.' He thought.
*Thump - Ba-dump*
Denki stops in his tracks, as he felt the ground shaking.
'What the fuck was that!' Denki turns his head to see something huge.
Huge, as Mount Lady.
"Holy shit! Run for your lliiivvveee!" As Denki tried to run he didn't see where he was stepping and he ended up twisting his ankle.
He tried to move it, but he end up screaming in pain. "Shit! It a sprang ankle, damn it! This is so uncool. Alright, my be I can crawl from safety." Denki starts to crawl the best he can. However.
When the Zero Pointer took another step, the impact created a gust of wind and some of the shards of metal went flying and cutting Denki's forearm.
"SHIT, GODDAMN IT!" he shouted in pain and sees the metal cut through the cloth of his hood, and he sees blood.
'Oh shit, oh shit, OH SHIT! I'm bleeding!' he tried to touch it, but he end up screaming from the sting of the pain. 'Shit! That fucking hurts! I have to press pressure I don't want to bleed out, Denki you do this.' Denki tried again by covering his cut with his hand. Even though the stinging hurt him, he continues to put pressure on his cut.
'Shit, I'm stuck here. I can't move, I can't even crawl, and that monstrous machine is coming my way.' Denki isn't sure what to do, he can't move. What he can do is cry for help.
"SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME! ANYONE PLEASE!"
Denki went to cry for help, again and again! He went to check to see that the Zero pointer is getting closer and closer.
Denki deep knows that this is just an exam, but it felt real, and he was scared.
'Am I going to die?' He thought as a single teardrop flop down to the ground
Then someone came to his rescue and Denki was surprised to see who it was.
"Wait, it's You!"
Moments earlier.
Rachel just split the last robot in half. Earning her 64 points.
"I'm not sure if that's enough to pass. It was never mentioned on the handout or presentation back in the auditorium.' Rachel thought. 'I was anxious for nothing. I guess Doctor Thompkins is right, sometimes the expectation caused by my anxiety is different from reality.' Then she thought of her brother. 'I have to thank Tenya later, for giving me the push that I needed. I'm much stronger than I thought.'
She looked towards all the damage she did. She destroyed robots, very different from simply levitating her books and salt shakers. Seeing what she did really surprise her.
She wonders how strong she is, due to the quirk law she doesn't use her one quirk out in public. She only uses her quirk when she's alone, or when people aren't watching. Like when she's in her room, or the time she picked up the paper ball back in the homeroom class.
'Geez, how strong am I?' Rachel thought.
*Thump - Ba-dump*
Rachel felt the ground shaking, she doesn't know where it was coming from. She turns her head around to see a giant robot.
'Is that the Zero pointer, it's huge!' Rachel felt scared from simply looking at the robot, her mind is telling her to run, where she is at, she is not safe.
Rachel started to run as fast as she can to reach safety, but she stop in her tracks hearing someone crying for help.
She turns her head to see who it was. That caught her complete surprise.
"SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME! ANYONE PLEASE!"
It was Kaminari, and he needs help.
As much as the girl's brain is telling her to leave and run away, her body and soul say otherwise. She starts running towards Kaminari, like her body is on autopilot, she isn't sure if she is strong enough to stop the robot. Though logic doesn't matter right now, her emotions are telling her to save Kaminari, like how she saved Yumi Ono all those months ago back on the roof.
She finally reaches Kaminari and kneels down in front of him.
"Wait, it's You! Ida, you need to run the Zero Pointer is coming. Please save yourself!" Kaminari yelled for to run, but she isn't leaving.
"I'm not leaving you behind Kaminari! I know we just met, but I'm not going to let that robot crush you like a bug. Let me help you get up–"
"You can't, I twisted my ankle I can't get up! Ida, PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF AND LEFT ME BE!" Kaminari said interrupting Rachel.
Learning that Kaminari can't move, and they don't have a lot of time to think of any other ideas. Rachel was stuck in a hard place and couldn't think of any solution to help him.
She started to panic.
"IDA, LOOK OUT!"
Kaminari shouted as Rachel turned to see that the foot of the Zero Pointer was just above them. They can't longer run away from this monstrous machine.
She had no choice but to use her quirk.
She channels her power towards her hands making them glow black as usual, as she fired it towards the robot's leg covering the whole leg with her quirk's black glow and purple aura.
Rachel successfully covered the whole leg with her quirk. However, the robot was too strong for her, as she struggles to control her own quirk. Causing her to kneel down on one leg as she tries to keep her quirk under control keeping the robot off its tracks.
"It's too… Heavy!" Rachel shouted trying to get back up to push more of the robot's leg up.
Many of the applicants went to watch the magnificent feat of strength coming from this single girl.
"S-she's stopping that robot's leg, from continuing its march."
"How strong is she?"
"I don't know. But damn, she's so manly!"
Rachel doesn't know how much longer can she keeps this up. She tries clearing her mind, ignoring everyone around her, except for Kaminari. She came here to help him, protect him from this beast of a robot. She knows that they just met and she doesn't know him at all, but ain't that what heroes do, save strangers?
She closes her eyes and recalls her training with Doctor Thompkins. On how her quirk works. By using her emotions as an anchor. The stronger the emotion is, the stronger she is, and in the past months and days building up to this day, she felt self-doubt caused by her anxiety. Now, she is counting on her anxiety to boost her quirk, to make her stronger. Her anxiety is the one that normally pushes her down like it was a bully. Now she wants to channel her own anxiety and turned it into anger as she uses her emotions as a weapon to fight against the Zero Pointer.
Once the girl opens her eyes, they glow in pure white as she stands up and stares at the Zero Pointer.
The energy that flows from her quirk spread around Rachel and Kaminari creating a shield bubble. Then it spread some more inside the robot's leg. In there, her quirk covers the whole mechanism of the leg tearing every wire and unscrewing every bolt and nut inside.
From a swift movement of her arms. The whole leg of the Zero pointer went falling apart, and part of the leg went crashing down to the ground.
However, Rachel's attempt might be successful but the whole zero-pointer robot is going to fall on top of them and the other applicants.
Rachel won't let that happen.
Using the shield bubble she created, she morphed it down into a ball and launch it toward the head of the Zero pointer making it fall in the opposite direction.
When it was all over, Rachel turns her head around to see that everyone who was watching are now safe.
The seven judges were in disbelief to see not one, but two Zero Pointers destroyed by two applicants.
One of them was caused by a boy with green hair in test site B. While the other was a girl with raven-colored hair with violet dip dye in test site G.
The applicant named Katsuki Bakugo was the highest in the terms of villain points, of 77points. However, he was knocked down to second place, because applicant Rachel Ida is first placed in this year's entrance exam.
Aizawa on the other hand was truly surprised to watch Tensei's little sister to reaching the top spot among all the applicants.
The entrance exam is now over.
Rachel couldn't believe what she had just done with her quirk. She truly doesn't know how strong her quirk really is.
She has a lot to learn.
Now the real reason why she runs here is to help Kaminari. She kneels down to see her injuries. Besides he sprang ankle, he is also bleeding on his left arm.
"Kaminari, your seriously hurt. Let me take you to a doctor." Rachel said in concern.
However, Kaminari wasn't listening he was still shocked by what just happened. "Ida, how did you do that?" he asks.
Rachel doesn't know how to tell him, even though she doesn't know the answer, her quirk is still a mystery.
Just like her past.
"Don't mind that right now Kaminari, your seriously hurt. Help is there a doctor!" she yelled.
One of the applicants went to talk to her. "Hey, I'm Itsuka Kendo I saw what you did it was really cool of you to defeat the Zero Pointer."
"I appreciate it, but this guy needs a doctor, he is bleeding." Rachel said.
"I'm sorry to say this, but I got a text from a friend of mine, saying that Recover Girl is infact here, but she is helping another applicant in Site B. Something about a guy punching the Zero Pointer." Kendo said.
Rachel felt sorry for Kaminari, he definitely needed the help needs right away.
Then she thought about what she did all those months ago helping Yumi, she believed she healed her wound.
After what she did back against the Zero Pointer, Is she sane enough to think she can heal Kaminari's bloody wound and twisted ankle?
It sounds crazy, but after what she has just done. Crazy sounds like a good idea.
'The way I did it back then, I was touching Yumi's face, maybe that's how it works.' She thought as she place her hand on Kaminari's bloody arm.
"Wait, what are you doing?" Kaminari asks.
Kaminari was right, what the hell is she doing? She's acting nuts, but she has to try, she believes she did in fact heal Yumi, She has to place her belief to the test.
She starts to think, it might work exactly how her quirk does, by using her emotions.
She thinks all of the positive thoughts as she channels the emotions that tie to them. As her hand starts to glow blue.
Kaminari's breathing goes smoothly and he start to feel joy. "Whatever you're doing Ida, please keep it up, it's working."
Rachel kept going until she lifted her hand and sees Kaminari's bloody wound is now recovered and healed.
"Oh my god, you healed him," Kendo said surprised.
'Yes, I did.' Rachel is surprised to learn that she can heal people with her quirk.
"Alright, let me heal your ankle." Rachel said as she start to heal his ankle.
An hour later.
After healing Kaminari's injuries. Kaminari and herself exchange phone numbers.
Now that the exams have ended she changes back into her Moira Queen's polytechnic junior high uniform.
Now she is just now waiting for her brother so they can go home together.
Rachel still couldn't believe what she can do with her quirk, it was such a different action from her time-saving Yumi Ono from the roof, all those months ago.
From her actions today she felt more confident than ever.
She can really be a Hero.
Wooh, this is much fun writing.
Writing Rachel's action scene was so much fun to write, for some with telekinesis, it's very different when writing someone by throwing a punch.
Before anyone asks. The character of Starfire is coming back in future chapters, she is just not part of the main case for this fanfic.
I also decided to add Ms. Martian as 1B's Homeroom teacher.
Can anyone guess the two applicants that I mentioned, they're characters from DC Comics.
For now, til next time.
