Authors note: Hi guys, this is a little longer than I usually do, but I wanted to get a lot of things in this chapter as I think the next one will be the end of the first year. I usually write between 5000 to 6000-word chapters, so I can post daily, so expect smaller ones in the future. This chapter also took more time because I was not happy with the first draft, so I deleted it and wrote this, which I like much more.

If you have any questions or ideas of magic you want me to write in this chapter, feel free to pm me about it. Now on with the chapter.

Chapter 8. Death, life and Blood magic.

Jakob turned and saw Amy standing behind him, wearing the ring on her finger.

"You got me a gift?" She said and raised her hand, and showed the ring sitting on her finger. The ring depicted two connected snakes with opened mouths showing their fangs. Almost like they were trying to bite each other, but instead, they held a green gemstone that glimmered in the light.

"Yes, I wanted to show my thanks for the company at the party."

Said Jakob.

Amy walked over to him, and now standing Infront of him, she smiled.

"It is beautiful, and I enjoy the little charm that comes with it. But I did not give you a present back," the curly-haired black girl said in a mock sad tone.

"I did not give that gift to you because I expected anything in return. I gave you that to show that you are my friend," Jakob said, giving her a reassuring smile.

"Are we friends now? I told you I'm still your prefect, and nothing would change in Slytherin."

Jakob nodded.

"I know, and I agree, but I think we still could be friends."

Amy lowered herself a little to whisper something in his ear.

"Well then, friend. Let me give you my Christmas present."

She then pressed her lips on his cheeks, and Jakob felt a wave of electricity flowing from where her lips met his skin and continuing down his whole body.

She held the kiss for a few seconds. Jakob stood there paralysed and could only think of one other time he had felt this feeling, but it was so much stronger this time. Memories of the night he had opened the doors and seen the girl closing her eyes and moaning flooded his mind for a second.

Amy finished the kiss and whispered.

"This will be our little secret."

When she leaned back, she saw that Jakob was frozen and blushing. With a proud smile at what she had accomplished, she walked behind him, and Jakob heard the door closing.

After a few moments, the young boy came to his senses and looked around, noticing that he was alone again.

"Wow," he whispered.

He raised his hand and touched the part where she had kissed him and felt that he was still wet.

He really wanted to feel that feeling again. Jakob was going to feel that feeling again.

When Jakob had walked out from his common room, he took a stroll through the castle with one goal in mind. He wanted to discover more of the castle's secret.

The Slytherin boy had walked through the seventh floor and had only found that the only secret thing was the room of requirements.

Jakob had for a while now looked into the sixth floor. he had already found a hidden passage to Filch's storeroom behind an Egyptian painting, but nothing else had been discovered yet.

As he walked and felt the walls, studying the paintings, he saw that three red-clothed Gryffindor were rounding a corner and walking straight towards him.

The Slytherin noticed that the Gryffindors had not seen him and were talking in hushed voices.

Jakob thought they looked too secretive and hid behind a door that was half opened, leading to a scrub.

Walking in the middle between Ron and Ivy, Harry listened to what his sister said while passing by the Quade heir.

"Harry, you can't be serious that you think it's Snape."

"Ivy. We know he is evil and wants the stone for himself."

Jakob looked a little surprised now. What stone?

He followed them and hid whenever they looked around to see if someone had noticed them.

"Should we really trust a note that magically appeared on your bed? Don't you think it might be a trap? And the note never said anything about Snape."

"Ivy, this is the only lead we have, and the note clearly stated that we needed to get there tonight," said Harry, irritated at his sister for questioning him.

"How are we going to get in," interjected Ron.

The three students stopped, and Harry said in a low, quiet voice that Jakob almost did not hear.

"We must pass Fluffy tonight and get the philosopher's stone before Snape."

"How are we going to do it? Father took the cloak after you lost it," Jakob heard Ivy say and grinned. Good, he thought, no more hiding for you.

"We will sneak out after bedtime and then just have to be careful, so we don't get caught before we reach the third floor."

Ron nodded and continued.

"yeah, the note said that there would not be anyone patrolling the third floor tonight."

"How are we trusting a note?" asked Ivy, almost yelling in frustration, but the two boys ignored the redheaded girl and continued their walk.

They are joking, thought Jakob with a grin on his face. If that stone is in the castle, I want to see it.

Jakob tried to find some information about something called a Fluffy, but with the time against him, he ended up empty-handed.

He looked through books and even asked Granger when he got her alone, but she had not known anything.

"But it sounds like some kind of nickname to a dog?"

Jakob frowned. Could it be that simple? Why would they use a dog to protect something so crucial as the philosophers stone?

They were at their usual meeting place and talked about what they had done over Christmas.

Hermione had been home with her parents and met some of her old muggle friends.

"It was fun, and when they talked about school and the other things we used to do together, I really started to miss my old life."

Jakob felt jealous that his friends could so easily make her miss that world, but he did not say anything about it.

The Slytherin then briefed her about the party at Malfoy and described the different decorations and rooms.

"Are you serious? Malfoy lives in a mansion?" Hermione asked, shocked.

Jakob shrugged.

It's not a big deal. The older families often live in mansions.

I have researched your family, and there was a lot of information about the companies your family owns. Do you live in a mansion?

Jakob nodded.

"how big is it?" asked the Granger girl, sitting up more on the couch, and Jakob grinned.

" it is hard to explain but big. Next time I'm home, I will take some photos so you can see it."

"I would like that a lot," smiled Hermione and then frowned.

"I only live in a house."

Jakob laughed and embraced her with his left arm.

"tell you what, someday I will get you a mansion."

Granger frowned back at him, questioning.

"How?

The Slytherin boy shrugged.

"it does not matter how. The important thing is that I made you a promise, and I don't break promises."

Granger then presented Jakob with a gift. Jakob looked over at the package and smiled, giving her one he had hidden in his robes.

"You open first," said Hermione, looking expectantly at Jakob.

The black-haired boy shrugged and ripped the paper open, and when he saw what he had got, he looked at the bushy-haired girl, confused.

"I made a kit of different things from my world said Hermione excited."

She took out a ballpoint pen and some paper. Granger then wrote her name on the blank paper.

"See, you don't need any ink to keep writing. It's in the pen." Jakob took the pen and looked closer.

"Interesting. What about those?"

Hermione looked at some magazines that read Popular science. The Gryffindor girl picked one up and handed it over to him.

"it's science, almost like magic, but you must be brilliant to create it."

Jakob looked through it and landed on a page that showed a large explosion with a mushroom cloud rising.

"What is that?"

Hermione looked over the magazine and sighed.

"That is a nuclear bomb. It's the biggest bomb that muggles have created."

The boy observed the picture closer, saw the text beside it, and widened his eyes.

"you can destroy entire cities with just one of these?"

He looked up at Hermione, who looked a bit uncomfortable.

"How can something with one explosion destroy a city?"

That made Granger smile appear. Who always liked the interesting question, tried to tell the magical boy about atoms and how the bomb worked, and the Slytherin boy tried his best to understand what the granger girl said.

When she was done, she promised to find more information about the nuclear technology Jakob had found interesting.

Then it was Hermione's turn to open her gift.

Hermione tore up the wrapping.

A white rectangle box was visible. When she opened it, a seemingly black card was neatly placed there like some kind of jewellery.

Hermione looked up a little and questioned.

Jakob took out his own card from his robe, he pointed his wand at it.

"Meet me in 10 minutes," he said, and the text was now visible on the card Hermione was holding.

"you don't need to say anything. I just did it to show you." continued Jakob.

"Jakob, where did you buy something like this? I have been looking everywhere." asked the muggle-born as she looked at her card in awe.

Jakob shrugged.

"I got it from my Fathers workshop. They are still in the earlier stages, so they have some... flaws."

"Like what?"

"Like the range. We can be around Hogwarts, but if I go to, say, Hogsmeade. They won't work. So we can't use them when we are on breaks yet, but when it's finished, I will give you the new one."

Hermione nodded and then Hugged him.

Jakob hugged her back, and as he did, the picture of Amy kissing him started to flow up in his mind.

He released Hermione quickly, and the girl saw that the Slytherin boy looked a bit uncomfortable and blushing.

Hermione frowned and asked.

"Is something wrong, Jakob?

Jakob had to assure Hermione that everything was alright three times before she stopped asking if he was ill. Jakob continued telling the bushy-haired girl that she needed to spy on the Gryffindor trio this evening and be careful so that she was not seen.

Granger had nodded, and they said goodbye, with Jakob leaving first. His gifts from Hermione are hidden in his bag.

The evening arrived, and Jakob sat in the Slytherin common room, flipping his card between his fingers, waiting to see if his spy could find out when the Gryffindor trio would sneak out.

As all his friends went to bed, he gave Pansy a glance indicating that he would not be joining her, and she nodded.

The clock hit 20 minutes past 10, and Jakob, who had already snuck out from his common room and currently leaned on a wall down in the dungeons. Suddenly he saw it, gold writing that burned on the black background.

Found me, joined them, and soon there. Hurry!

Jakob cursed and rushed up the stairs to the third floor.

Jakob ran, and when he entered the hallway, he almost went into the wall when he turned to the right to continue down the hall.

If he had not been worried about his friend, he would have noticed that he did not feel tired after running.

He reached the wooden door and saw it was unlocked and gaped open. Jakob took a breath and walked inside.

When Jakob saw what fluffy really was, he flicked out his wand and stared at the beast in wonder.

While he stared at the three-headed dog, he wondered what it would be like to have Fluffy guard his dorm. he smirked when thinking of how Pansy would react when she wasn't let inside by the barking Cerberus.

His moment of joy ended when he noticed the music from the left corner. The Slytherin boy turned to see a charmed flute levitating and playing. So that's what made the beast sleep, he thought.

When Jake saw the hatch and the dark abyss inside it, he cursed his Gryffindor friend, took a breath and then jumped down.

When he had fallen for a second or two, Jakob landed on something and said to himself in the dark.

"It's something that moves? Please don't be poisoned.

"Lumos"

Jakob looked around at the giant Devil's snare, frowned a little, and tried to find a way out.

"nothing but Devil's snare," he whispered and then looked down at the plant that slowly curled around his legs and stomach.

He snorted at the plant and slowly pointed his wand at it.

"Oh no, you don't, Incendio!"

Jakob pushed in more magic and watched as the plant burned away.

The perfectly combed hair boy thought the plant would soon perish. The roots moved away, and he fell in surprise down under it.

Jakob made a painful noise as he landed on the hard cold stone floor and had to roll over as burning roots threatened to hit him as they, too, fell down.

He got up after he had rolled over to a door. He saw that it had been blasted open by its hinges.

Just before he walked in, he noticed that a part of his robe was on fire, and Jakob frantically started to put it out by hand.

"shit, shit, shit," he said while the flames slowly were put up.

The Quade heir looked down on his hands and saw that the flames had burned them.

"This is going to hurt when I go to bed," the boy said, feeling the burning pain starting in his palms.

Beating wings were heard, and Jake looked up to see countless keys flying in slow motion above him.

He then noticed one of the keys sitting in a keyhole, flapping its wings.

Jakob walked straight to the other side of the room and opened the door while staring at the keys hovering above him.

When nothing happened, he shrugged and continued on to the other room.

In the next room, he halted. There in the middle of the room, lay a troll. Swords protruded out from both its head and chest, and Jakob looked surprised at the murder that the Gryffindors had done.

"Bloody hell, they did not have to overdo it," he observed the troll closer and noticed that the swords had been buried deep inside his skull and chest.

"It's hard to believe that four Gryffindors could manage this," Jakob said, chuckling but suddenly stopped and thought. It's hard to believe because it is not them. There is someone else here.

"Shit, Hermione," said Jakob in frustration and ran to the next room.

The next room looked like a battlefield.

Destroyed statues of different chess pieces were all around the enormous chessboard, and in the middle of it all, jaGlanced Jakob three different shapes hanging in the air, not moving. He ran forwards, almost tripping on an arm that held a sword. He came closer and saw that Hermione, the Potter girl and the Weasly boy was dangling and spinning a meter above the ground. He grabbed Hermione's legs, pulled her down from the air, and laid her carefully on the chessboard.

"Hermione?" He whispered, trying to shake her, but she did not respond. Her eyes were glazed over, and Jakob tried shacking her harder.

"Granger, wake up!" He yelled, and a terrible feeling was clutching his heart.

As fear and dread about his friend rose up, the young Slytherin boy sensed something stir inside him, and his sense of dread turned to fury.

"She is not dead," he told himself, letting her go and standing up.

"she had been cursed, and if I get my hands on the person who did this."

He said, tightening his grip on his wand and looking over to the last door.

"I'm going to kill the bastard who dared to touch what is mine."

The boy then walked over and opened the door seeing a staircase leading down and a surprised voice of a boy talking.

Jakob walked down, hearing the voices more clearly, and when he stepped inside the circular room with a mirror in front of it, he saw Professor Quirrell force push Harry away, who flew into a pilar and fell down, knocking himself out.

"was it you?" hissed Jakob with a voice that almost didn't sound human.

Quirrell, who held the stone close to his heart smiling, now turned around with a surprised look.

"Did I what, young Quade?" said the professor, not stuttering and not questioning what the young Slytherin even was down here.

"Did you curse her?" asked Jakob again, raising his wand.

Professor Quirrell, who saw the wand, smirked at the first year and said.

"Oh, you mean that. Yes, it was me. Who exactly did you mean by her? the blood traitor or.." Quirrel laughed

"Don't tell me you are upset about the mudblood."

Jakob felt that something inside him screamed Kill him!

Jakob's eyes turned black for a second, and his irises glowed red.

"She is my mudblood", growled The 11-year-old unnaturally.

Then a ray of purple and black shot out from his wand as quickly as lightning. The professor, who stood there in shock, could only follow the spell's light as it was channelled from Jakob's wand and directed at Quirrell's heart.

It hit the stone, and as more and more dark magic penetrated the rock, Quirrel yelled for Jakob to stop.

The stone began glowing, and Quirrell, who had tried to move the stone away from Jakob's dark spell, now screamed in pain as the skin and flesh from his hand started to boil away.

The rock glowed up more and more until Blinding light illuminated the entire room, and then it exploded. The shockwave made Quirrel fly back, hitting and hitting the mirror, which shattered into pieces.

Jakob was thrown back and landed on the staircase, rolling a few steps before stopping close to the ground.

As he landed, he felt his bones break, and a dull pain was now emanating from the side of his head. Jakob lay on his stomach and could see into the circular room where the professor was lying with his back against him.

The Slytherin boy could only move his eyes and saw that blood was running down from where his head was situated down the steps.

He moved his eyes away and noticed that a shard of the rock, no bigger than his thumb, was placed a few centimetres in front of his hand.

His eyes were beginning to feel heavy, and he wanted to sleep.

Before he closed his eyes, he saw a dark mist manifesting from his hand and slithered towards the shard.

Jakob looked at the mist as it closed in, and just before it touched the shard, it stopped and observed it. The mist surrounded the rock, and when it retreated back into Jakob, he noticed that the fragment was black as coal.

Suddenly Jakob felt his bones snap into place, making him utter faint noises of pain. When the snapping stopped, the Quade heir stood up and looked down at his body in surprise.

Jake saw that his palms no longer had burns and that the damp pain in the side of his head was gone. He raised his hand and touched the skin, noticing it was only wet with blood.

He picked up his wand and moved slowly towards the professor, who was still in the middle of the room, not moving.

As Jakob got closer, he saw that a mirror shard almost as big as his foot cast his reflection.

But it was not Jakob in the present that was reflected. The Slytherin boy forgot the professor for a moment and picked up the shard.

He looked into it and saw himself grown-up, standing in a mountain of rubble and blood.

With his wand held high, he looked down on humans, beasts and things he had never seen before, and they were all bowing to him.

His friends behind him smiled as they gazed at the battlefield they were standing on.

Jakob heard a noise from the professor and put the shard in his robes.

Jakob walked, and when he rounded Quirrells scorched body, he was met with a horrifying picture. Quirrel face and front body had been blasted off as the rock had exploded, and the only remains made Jakob turn around and vomit.

"How can that thing still make sound without a mouth?" asked the boy after wiping his mouth.

The sound was heard again, and the Slytherin boy turned.

A grey mist rose from the dead professor's body and formed a face.

"I found you at last," said the smoke and grinned.

"Who are you?" asked Jakob, mesmerised, reaching up his hand to touch the wraith.

When his hand went through the mist, Jakob felt a stir inside him, and his own dark smoke reached out.

The wait looked interesting as Jakob's black smoke circled around it, almost like they greeted each other. But then the Dark mist attacked like a snake and tried to drain the wraith.

Jakob, who was as shocked as the wraith, witnessed it scream in pain, break free from the dark smoke, and flee up the stairs.

Jakob watched it disappear and noticed that the boy who lived started to make faint sounds of waking up.

Jakob rushed out of the room and returned to the chessboard room to see that the other two Gryffindors had fallen down and that the three were slowly rising up.

Jakob hid behind a chess player and heard Ivy shout

"Harry!" She then ran into the room where the broken mirror was.,

Ron looked at Hermione, then the door, and back to the girl again and said with an apologetic smile.

"Stay here, Granger, we will protect you, so don't be afraid." he then ran after the redhead but with not the same determination.

Jakob looked up to the ceiling, thanking whatever god they left, and he walked over to Hermione, who was about to take out her black card.

"You don't need it. I'm here."

Hermione jerked around and slapped Jakob right in the face.

The boy who received it had a look of pure shock written all over his face.

The bushy-haired girl who just had slapped him now with an understanding of what she had done widened her eyes and said.

"Jakob, I'm so sorry, I was not ready, i-"

Jakob grabbed her, pulled her into a hug, and Hermione closed her eyes and hugged him back.

"I was so scared," she whispered, and the Slytherin boy could feel his shoulder becoming warm and wet.

Hermione stopped, and Jakob could feel her raising her hand to look at it.

She then moved away hastily from the embrace to look at him again.

"Why are you covered in blood?" are you injured she said, trying to turn him and get a closer look at his head and body.

"I'm fine. It's not my blood," he lied. Hermione gasped and knew that whoever it was, he was not alive anymore.

The girl then frowned.

"Whose is it then?"

"Professor Quirrell's," said Jakob shrugging.

We need to get out of here said Jakob and grabbed the girl's hand. When he saw that she was about to say something else.

He turned around and took a step.

"Did anyone see you?"

Jakob halted.

"Only one, and he is dead." Said Jakob sighing. He knew what she meant.

"It's better if I stay, so they don't think someone else rescued me."

Jakob released her hand and nodded.

"If something else happens, you write to me on that card, alright?"

Hermione nodded and then smirked.

"Don't worry, I have the Weasley to protect me."

Jakob was about to say something when they heard someone yell.

"Ron, wake up!"

Guess he saw Quirrell thought Jakob with a smile on his lips.

The Slytherin boy then told Hermione to walk down to the rest and not to look at the corpse. While she walked downstairs, Jake headed through the other rooms and climbed up to Fluffy, still sleeping soundly.

When he entered the Slytherin common room that was deserted. He looked at the watch in the corner and saw it was well past midnight.

The bloodied boy walked over to door number 13 and opened it. Seeing Pansy's bed curtains shut, he stepped carefully into the bathroom and closed the door.

Jakob took off his clothes and stood in the shower, seeing the water wash away the blood and dust. He soaped himself, and when he was done, he walked out feeling refreshed and like he could sleep for days. He took a towel, put it around his waist, and opened the door to say hello to his lovely bed.

"Where in the bloody hell have you been?" Said Pansy, who stood in front of him in her pyjamas, glaring at him.

"Pansy, i..." as Jakob was about to come up with some half-hearted lie, Pansy turned her eyes down, noted that he only was wearing a Towered and blushed before she put her hands in front of her eyes.

Don't stand there with just a towel. Put some clothes on!" the embarrassed girl yelled and turned around. She started to walk away but still had her eyes closed. She tripped on the chair and fell forwards, hitting her head on the desk side on her way down.

"holy shit! Pansy, are you okay?" said Jakob while coming to the girl's aid.

"Ow, my head," said a groggy Pansy, who looked a bit disoriented.

Jakob raised her up and saw that a cut was showing on her left eyebrow, and blood was trickling down her eye.

"You hit your head pretty good. We need to take you to the hospital wing," said Jakob while reaching up his hand to move away Pansy's hair, and then something happened that neither of them had expected.

Jakob's palm and the veins in his hand started to glow red, and Pansy looked shocked while her cut was healed.

When the cut was healed, both Pansy and Jakob stared at each other, having the same look on their face and then it was pansy who broke the silence.

"How... how did you do that?" Jakob looked down at his hand and then at Pansy again.

"I read it in a book?"

"Are you asking me or telling me?" asked Pansy, confused.

"I'm telling you?" said Jakob, still very disoriented by the whole thing.

"Stop doing that!" said Pansy, now frustrated and stood up.

"You will put on some clothes, and then we will chat about all this."

Jakob shook his head.

"Pansy, I trust you a lot, but I can't tell you about this."

The Slytherin girl crossed her arms and frowned.

"Why we have the rules. I won't tell anyone whatever you say to me in this room."

Jakob again shook his head and sighed tiredly.

"I'm sorry, but this is big, Pansy, and the rules we have on a paper are just that, words on a paper.

Pansy glanced over to the parchment that hung on the wall and then back at her roommate, who sat on his bed, looking out the window.

"How big are we talking about?" asked pansy with a frown.

"Probably the biggest thing you ever heard," said Jakob, who now had a haunted look on his face after things had calmed down and everything had caught up to him.

"Will you talk to anybody about what happened? will you talk with Draco?"

Jakob shook his head.

"Draco is my best friend, but if I talked with him about this, he would freak out. I can't say more than that."

Pansy looked like she was torn about what she was going to say next, but her curiosity and chance to share something with Jakob no one else would was something the girl could not refuse. With a nod to herself, she opened her mouth.

"I can swear it." Jakob looked back at her.

Jakob gave her a glance and then got up. He went to his dresser, collected his pyjamas and went inside the bathroom. He said over his shoulder when he was about to close the door.

"We can't, we need a third person, and I don't want anyone to know."

"what can I do then? To prove that you can trust me? Please, Jakob i..."

Jakob closed the door and got dressed. And when he came out, hoping that she would have gone to bed, he was disappointed to see that she was still standing in her spot with crossed arms.

"You really want to know this. And for what? You won't ever be able to say it to anyone else, so it's nothing valuable."

"you have been through something, and I want to know, and for bloody sake, you can heal with your hand."

Jakob's irritation started to surface. He needed to sleep.

"Fine, if you want to know, there is a way I can tell you, but you won't like it."

"tell me," said Pansy with hope glimmering in her eyes.

Jakob sighed and made her sit on the floor and in front of her.

"There is a way, but it's a bit like a two-edged sword."

Pansy's eyes widened in recognition at what Jakob had said, and she continued."

"Do you mean a blood pact?"

Jakob nodded and was about to say something, but the Slytherin girl cut him off.

"I will do it."

Jakob, who was done questioning this, nodded, reached out to his trunk, and collected the ritual dagger he had gotten from his father as a Christmas present.

Pansy looked at the dagger in awe and then glanced over to Jakob with expectancy in her eyes.

"Do you know what to do?" asked the girl studying the knife closer.

Jakob got up and took out a vial of goat blood in his trunk that he usually used for potion class.

He made a pentagram around them.

Pansy looked on with a smirk, feeling excited that they were doing something illegal. The boy then went to their window and opened it.

"What are you doing? It's freezing?" frowned Pansy.

"We need to take a life for the ritual to work," said Jakob looking outside in the snow.

He then closed his eyes for a moment and quickly reached out with his hand.

Pansy saw something was fighting to get loose from his grip, but Jakob took his wand and sent a stunner that pacified the owl.

"Jakob, that is a school owl. What will they say when they notice it's gone?"

Jakob glanced at her.

"that it died in the snow or that something ate it?"

Jakob took the brown owl, who looked like it was sleeping, into the room and closed the window.

He sat in front of Pansy and gently put the bird between the two.

"About your question," said Jake while putting his hand on the owl, trying to pinpoint where the heart was.

"I Borrowed a book in the restricted section about blood curses and rituals." He took her hand gently and turned it, so her palm was up.

"They have a book on forbidden magic in Hogwarts?" asked pansy, a little shocked.

"It did not specify the details, but I got a rough picture," said Jakob, slowly dragging the dagger over his palm and then continuing to do the same to Pansy's palm. The Slytherin girl twitched a bit and made a slight noise.

The boy then took her hand in his, intertwining their fingers and looked her in the eyes.

"Say after me," whispered Jakob and raised the knife.

Jakob, not breaking eye contact with pansy, plunged the dagger down on its prey. Pansy almost jumped as they heard the owl's death scream, but Jakob said in a firm voice. Feeling that the sacrifice was accepted, magic streamed into the room. It seemed like the blood that made the pentagram was coursing, but neither of the children noticed this.

"I swear on my blood, my life, my magic." Said Jakob.

"I swear on my blood, my life, my magic." Followed Pansy

"That I will never betray you or reveal our secrets."

"that I will never betray you or reveal our secret,"

"so mote it be."

"so mote it be."

The pentagram turned to ashes, and both Jakob and Pansy were panting, still holding hands so hard that their knuckles had turned white. Jakob saw a drop of sweat running down the side of Pansy's temple.

"Did it work?" Asked Pansy looking at Jakob and then looking around the room.

"I think it did," said Jakob noticing that the owl to had turned to ash.

They then saw that Jakob's veins began to glow and that red light was emanating from their joined hands, and when it was done, they let go and saw that the wounds had healed.

"So how do we confirm it?" asked Pansy.

Jakob thought for a moment and then stood up and went to the door but suddenly stopped. Pansy looked as she saw that Jakob stood there, almost frozen in place, and then turned to her smiling.

"I can't betray you. I tried hard to walk outside and yell that you had tried to kill me, but I couldn't."

"Wow, let me try," said Pansy, standing up and walking over to the door.

She stopped in front of it, and Jakob could see that she was not even making a face of trying to leave. She just stood there.

Pansy then seemed to come back and giggled.

"That's pretty awesome," she said and then looked at Jakob.

"Now, can you tell me what happened?"

Jakob told Pansy about what had happened in the circular room and the black smoke that had come out from him. He also left out why and said instead that he wanted to see the stone. That was not a lie, either, and when he was done, she had asked him if he could try to show her the mist.

Jakob had tried but failed. he knew that he was missing something and just becoming angry was not the answer.

"so you are immortal?" Pansy asked him when he had told her everything, and he thought for a moment.

"No. or I don't think so. The stone did not grant eternal life. It only prolonged the user's life. It could not bring someone back from the dead."

"make sense," said Pansy with a frown and thought for a bit before continuing.

"so you can probably heal wounds, grave one at that, but if you die, you die?"

Jakob nodded. The stone was powerful, but he had not the whole stone inside him, only a fragment. He did not know how powerful a piece was but would be looking into it when he got the chance.

After they had talked, they saw that they had 5 hours left of sleep and went to bed.

"good night Jakob," said Pansy turning in her bed, so she faced him.

"god night Pansy," Jakob said, laying on his back with his head turned to her.

As morning came sooner than the two Slytherins wanted, they woke up, prepared themself for the day, and walked out into the common room to meet up with Draco, Theo, Blaze, Daphne and Tracey.

Together they walked out from the dungeon and into the great hall for breakfast, and when they sat down, Jakob noticed that the four Gryffindors sat and ate breakfast. The boy who lived must have recovered remarkably, thought Jakob and snorted. Suddenly, the headmaster rose.

The hall became quiet, and Dumbledor walked over to his podium and spoke.

"In light of recent events, I would need to tell you that your defence against the dark arts, Professor Quirrell had taken an opportunity to study abroad and will not be returning to Hogwarts.

I, however, will take up that position for the remaining of the school year. Personally like to give out some well-earned house points."

Students from all houses looked around to see if someone in their house had done something, and the headmaster continued.

"First, I would like to give out 75 points to miss Ivory Potter, who showed remarkable bravery and loyalty."

Everyone looked at the girl, who blushed.

"Secondly, I would like to give out 75 points to Mr Ronald Weasley for the best game of chess that Hogwarts has ever seen.

The Weasley boy looked very proud as his classmates patted him on the back.

"And to Harry for showing bravery and courage and leadership. I award Gryffindor with 100 points."

All the students saw the red hourglass rise from last to first place and put Slytherin second with over 50 points.

"That is all." said the headmaster, and Jakob looked over and saw that even the three Gryffindors were giving Hermione a confused look while people were clapping and cheering.

"This old shit," Jakob whispered, and Draco, who thought his best friend was angry over the house points, nodded.

Dumbledore seemed to notice the words pointed towards him, turned with a frown, and saw that Jakob Quade was glaring at him from his seat over at the Slytherin table.

The headmaster strolled to the podium and raised his arms, signalling the others to lower their voices.

"It seems like not everyone agrees with my decision," he said and still looked at Jakob.

"Is there anyone who would like to say something?"

Jakob thought for a moment and then inwardly smiled.

"Headmaster, if I may," he said while standing up.

Dumbledore gave the gesture to continue, and Jakob did just that.

"you have given points to these Gryffindors, but no one here knows why?"

"That, my young boy, is not of your concern. Just note that it was well deserved." said the headmaster smiling back.

"so... tell me if I'm wrong, headmaster, but let me see if I got you right.

We are supposed to do a good thing to earn house points; believe me, some fight really hard to earn them. But somehow, we can one day wake up and get the information that someone collected so many house points that it is futile for the others to keep fighting?"

"If the student deserved them, then the answer to your question is yes, Mr Quade."

"With all due respect, headmaster, but when you refuse all of us to know the reason, how do we know that you did not just give them the points so they would win?"

"Dear boy are you assuming that I would tamper with the house cup?" said Dumbledor and smiled back at Jakob, who gave him a smile back.

" I'm not assuming anything, headmaster, but they will," Jakob said, gesturing to the sea of students.

Dumbledore looked around and saw that many students thought what Jakob said had a point and gave him the headmaster glares. He also noticed those who stood by his side, glaring at the Slytherin boy.

Dumbledore sighed.

"Very well. I have awarded these three students for clearing a test myself and the rest of the teachers here," Dumbledor gestured to the Teacher's table.

"Put up on the third floor."

Got you taught Jakob.

"So you awarded them points for breaking school rules again?"

Dumbledore looked a bit confused.

"I don't truly understand what you imply, but I say this again, even if they broke one school rule, they-."

"To answer your question, Headmaster." Jakob interrupted him.

"You awarded them, if I remember correctly, 75 house points for taking down a troll, and now you award them 145 points today for breaking another rule. Did not Professor McGonagall say you lose house points if you break the rules?"

Dumbledore started to get annoyed and was about to say something, but another student from Gryffindor rose up.

"Don't talk to the headmaster like that snake! He does what is right. So sit down and stop ruining everything."

Jakob looked back at Dumbledore and smirked. And I won, he thought.

"Who are you calling snake, you bumbling idiot! Jakob heard coming from his own table, and then hell broke.

Students rose up from Gryffindor and Slytherin and started to scream at each other, and The Ravenclaws sat, and the majority began to shout at the Gryffindors after a while of thinking.

The Hufflepuffs either sat down silent or tried to break up the fighting, and Jakob still held eye contact with the headmaster.

When the first spell was cast from the Slytherin table, the spells began to shower from the rival tables. Ravenclaw either joined the Slytherins or hid under their own table And Hufflepuffs, who was in the middle, tried their best not to get hit.

Dumbledore pointed his wand at the students, and a loud boom was heard, making all the students stop what they were doing.

"my decision is final," and with that, the headmaster sat down and looked somehow a little older than he used to.

In the coming weeks, the war with the Gryffindors had begun for real.

Almost all of Ravenclaw's upper years had joined the Slytherins in the attack.

The Hufflepuffs Had first tried to calm the situation by forming groups of four to be some sort of peace Aurors. When they found out they were outnumbered and attacked by the other houses, they quickly decided to withdraw and tried negotiating instead.

Slytherin had the cunning, while the Ravenclaw had the intellect and the plans they formed together made the rash Gryffindors fall victim to their traps. This also made the house point system fall, and only Hufflepuff remained on a steady figure of 170 points while the other houses were now on the minus side as no one really cared.

The teachers had tried their best, but seeing as they lost their prefects to the chaos, they soon tried to put out fire after fire.

When Winter turned to spring, and the weather had become much warmer, sat Draco, Jakob, Pansy, Crabbe and Goyle under a tree close to the black lake.

Pansy was reading her potion book giving small comments to whoever wanted to listen. Draco was polishing the quidditch gear he had gotten from Jakob in a Christmas present.

Crabbe and Goyle sat and switched their last Christmas candy with each other.

Jakob was lying on the grass reading a book his sister had sent him via owl. The book was charmed so that the pages were blank for others than Jakob.

"Honestly, Draco, why are you cleaning that gear again? You have not even used it?" said Pansy, a little irritated that the blond boy would do that rather than be with her.

Draco rolled his eyes.

"Pansy, I have Snape as my godfather. There's nothing in that book that I don't already know."

The girl in question made a humph sound and continued to comment on her findings to Jakob, who nodded and sometimes gave a comment on his own while continuing to read his book.

"Mate, you might want to hide that book now," said Draco in a hushed voice.

"And why would i..." said Jakob but stopped when he saw Amy walking towards them. Jake knowing that she right now was acting as a prefect, got up quickly.

Amy saw that Jacob quickly hid a book and noticed something familiar with it.

Her eyes then widened for a second before returning to her neutral look,

"Mr Quade, I'm here to escort you to a meeting."

Jakob looked a bit confused but knew better than to question the older girl right now and gave his bag containing the book to Draco.

As he followed her, they walked into the castle, and when they rounded a corner, he heard Amy whisper.

"You are not being a naughty boy now, I hope?"

Jakob looked at the fifth year and answered.

"I'm sorry. In which way do you mean?"

Amy glanced at him, giving him a slight smirk.

"That book you tried to hide, I know of it, and so do a lot of other upper years. It's a good read, but I suggest not attempting the magic described in that book."

Jakob nodded and frowned,

"How could you see what type of book it was? It's charmed."

Amy nodded.

"It is, but I have a keen eye."

As they continued to walk, she noted that Jakob wanted to say something.

"Why exactly should I not try anything in that book?" The Slytherin boy asked, glancing at Amy for an answer.

"Don't tell me you..."

"Of course not," said Jake when Amy had halted and observed him to see if he lied,

"Jakob, have you tried any of the magic in that book?"

Jakob looked at the girl, and with a firm voice, he said

"no."

He was not lying, and Amy, with relief, started walking again.

When they stood outside a Door of the DADA classroom, Amy opened it, showed Jake inside, followed him and closed the door.

The room was not like it used to be. The desks were moved to the sides, and one prefect of every house sat in a circle.

Amy took her place beside the Headgirl next to her.

Diana and another boy beside her that was of Gryffindor.

When Jakob walked inside, he got different looks from different people. The Ravenclaws prefect was a boy with brown hair and glasses who gave Jakob a nod while studying him.

The Hufflepuff prefect, another boy, reached out his hand and said with a smile.

"My name is Gabriel Truman. Nice to meet you."

Jakob took his hand and shook it, and greeted back.

The Gryffindor Prefect, who Jakob could see belonged to the Weasley family, glared at Jakob. Jakob gave him one back.

The Gryffindor head boy walked over to him and said, with an outstretched hand.

"My name is Corey Hayden, and I am a head boy working closely with Diana Cowley.

Jakob took his outstretched hand and bowed slightly.

"Pleasure to meet you, Mr Hayden. My name is Jakob Quade."

The head boy nodded and then retook his seat beside Diana, who gave him a smile.

Are they actually friends, or are they just trying to show unity? Thought Jake while he took a seat beside Amy.

Diana walked forward a few steppes and addressed the hall.

"As you know, there has been a... disagreement in these castle halls for some time.

I, together with Hayden here, have agreed that these incidents must stop. Before it gets more out of hand and they close the school.

"Well, he started it," said the Gryffindor prefect, pointing at Jakob.

"Miss Cowley is speaking, and you will not point fingers in this room, Weasley, or you will be removed."

Said the head boy, which made the redhead nod, still casting a glare at the Slytherin boy.

"Thank you, Mr Hayden. Now, as I was saying, we have gathered you all here today to get closure so we can return to how things were before."

The people in the room mumbled their agreement.

They all discussed what punishment would be dished out if students would not follow the rules and how they had to show unity within the circle of prefects and students.

Jakob, who had stood beside Amy, looked on and tried his best to see what type of people these students were and how he could use all the information he got.

"you might wonder why I have invited Mr Quade here today."

Quade looked over to the head boy who had spoken, and Jakob had pondered this question moments before.

"As Mr Weasly said before, this Young Slytherin was the reason this all started.

I have a plan for Mr Quade to end it."

Jakob, who looked a bit affronted by the accusation, raised his hand.

Diana noticed this and answered.

"Yes, Mr Quade?"

Jake took a step forward and inhaled, trying his best not to look nervous.

"I will admit I spoke words, but I don't see how I started this alL. I can say that this injustice that happened not only to Slytherin house but also to the Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs equally."

"I only told the headmaster what we all thought at that moment."

"Are you finished?" Questioned Weasley, glaring once again, and Jakob, who started to get annoyed, looked back.

"You are wearing that prefect badge, and still, you behave like the first years in Gryffindor. But what would someone expect? That badge won't change your last name."

Pearcey, who looked livid, took out his wand, and Jakob did the same,

"Enough!" Yelled the head boy walking over to the Weasleyboy and whispering something. The Gryffindor looked surprised at Hayden and then glared back at Jakob. The Gryffindor prefect then turned and stormed out of the room.

The head boy then turned towards Jakob.

"I see what you mean about how it started, but you should know that what you said to my prefect just now is not accepted at Hogwarts."

The boy looked over to Diana, who gave a slight nod.

"Quade, you will receive detention for one week for disrespecting a prefect."

Jakob nodded, knowing that if he spoke up right now, he would get into more trouble than it was worth, and the most influential people in the school were looking at him now.

Hayden now looked at Quade with a glimmer in his eyes.

"This school year is soon ending, but there will come another."

Diana stepped forwards and handed him a sealed parchment, and said.

"We have discussed with the professor and decided that you will start a new afterschool club next year. As a sign of good faith, you, of course, will have a say in it. And being top of your class, we have something that will suit you."

She smiled slightly, walked back to the other head boy, and said louder.

"twice a week, you will help those that need help with their studying. Think of it as you being a teacher, but instead of a lesson, you will help the students with their homework assignments. You will take on students from your year and the year under and help them if they wish to have it.

Students who risk getting a poor, dreadful, or troll are automatically forced to attend.

You will not take any form of payment for this."

Jakob tried not to glare at his queen.

"And what was my say in this?"

Diana smiled.

"you will be able to choose a classroom that is not always in use, of course."

Jakob was about to say something, but Hayden seemed to know precisely what and cut him off.

"We know this is a lot to ask of you; therefore, you will have someone to help you." Jakob frowned.

"Who is that?" asked the first-year Slytherin.

"we will select one willing to help you, and, no, that person is not going to be from your own house," Hayden said with a smirk.

"We want the answer to which classroom you chose before this school year ends."

Jakob nodded.

"how long do I have to do this?"

Diana smirked and said,

"don't look so disappointed, Mr Quade. See this as an opportunity, not a punishment, and for at least the remainder of your second year here. What you do with this club after the secound year is up to you."

Jakob thought of what the head girl had said and nodded.

As He was not needed anymore, he was dismissed.

Jakob went to his dorm and opened his parchment to read the specifics of the punishment he had been given.

When he was done, he sighed.

"I have to find a classroom, and someone I might or might not tolerate will be working with me."

There would be a note on the noticeboard, and those who applied would be discussed between the head boy and head girl. Then one of them would be chosen. They would know that he would be working with them and that they would be doing this for a year as a show of house unity and receive no bonuses.

Jakob frowned and said out loud.

"Who in the bloody hell would be willing to do this?"

Extra authors note. Jakob can heal wounds. And you might wonder what this boy can actually heal. I can only say that those questions will have an answer in due time. But I will say one thing. He will not be able to bring himself back or anyone else from the dead. That also means that if he is struck by the killing curse, he will die, and if someone chops his head off, he will die.
