A/N I do not own Naruto, Boruto, or anything else that is not owned by me... because I write fanfiction... and no self-respecting Mangaka would write fanfiction... Unless ;)

I know I said this already, but. I was not prepared for the PILES of serotonin reviews would provide! I thought that this wouldn't get reviews, or if it did it would be negative. I am OVERWHELMED by your positivity! I'm so happy I want to scream! So really, thank you.

All I've ever wanted in life is to make other people smile, to make their day just a little bit brighter. I struggle with mental health, and fan fiction has helped me a lot, so I wanted to help someone else in return, even if it's only one person. I wanna make somebody smile. :)

"Talking."

'Thinking.'

English.

Inoichi took the girl to the hospital before going back to work.

A few hours later he received a message telling him she was awake and panicking. She refused to speak or accept treatment and then she ran. Thankfully, the Konoha hospital was a labyrinth, so somebody who doesn't know their way around wouldn't be able to escape easily. But no one could find her.

Once he got to the hospital and joined the search, it was about an hour before he turned a corner and spotted her... In the middle of jumping out of a window.

Her head snapped in his direction, and she just... stared at him. He lifted his hands in surrender. "I'm not here to hurt you, okay? I'm here to help," he said in a placating manner. Her only reaction is frowning deeper. He weighed his options before chancing a step forward.

She bolted out the window.

I have been running through this place for hours. It's rather clear to me now that this is a hospital, but I still don't trust it. If magical super energy is a thing, who says that illusions can't exist as well?

I mean if this was a hospital, why would they build it like a maze?!... Then again I don't really have a very good sense of direction, so it could be me and this is just a normal hospital, but I don't think so!

But anyway, I had been running for hours, until now. 'Finally, a window!' I push it open and put my foot on the sill.

I hear someone in the hall and snap my head toward them. A... 'An Inoichi cosplayer? That's one way to try and get someone's guard down..., I guess?' He spouts some stuff in Japanese in what I suppose is a "calming" manner, but as soon as he steps forward I launch out the window. Propelled by the magic of this bullshit world, I land on a rooftop and yelp in surprise but continue to run.

Soon enough I'm being chased by a rather large group of people.

Now, I'm not an idiot, as much as I call myself dumb or stupid, I'm not an idiot. I have noticed that all the people chasing me are wearing Konoha headbands, and no I have not missed the giant Hokage monument. I'm in denial, and I'm hoping this is just a genju-Illusion. Just an illusion.

Something in my mind clicks and I trip, nearly falling off the building in the process. 'Chakra, Chakra that I sent into my eyes... everything was super slow... I was in a lab and... Orochimaru.' I start to slow down, coming to a full stop. I put a hand over my mouth, 'Crap..., I'm an Uchiha.'

After pursuing the girl for twenty minutes, she suddenly tripped and slowed to a stop. Inoichi approached, but she had no visible reaction. He placed a hand on her shoulder... no reaction. He turned to face the others, "Did someone place her in a genjutsu?"

"I tried, but she kept shrugging them off."

"Yeah! same with me."

Inoichi sighed, "I'll be taking her back to the hospital now." Someone stepped forward, "Wait a minute, why are you taking her to the hospital? She should be going to T&I." Inoichi scrutinized the kunoichi, "She is a child." The woman huffed, "She can outrun several Shinobi and run on buildings easily, she could be a threat to the village." He stared her down, "I don't believe we've met. What's your name and rank?" She gritted her teeth, "Tetsuya Aiko, Chunin." Inoichi stood up a bit straighter and introduced himself, "Yamanaka Inoichi, Jonin." She had the decency to look embarrassed. "I understand she would seem dangerous, but I can assure you that she is a lost and scared child. Now, if you'll excuse me." He picked the kid up and headed back to the hospital.

When I snap back to reality, I'm being carried. I try to squirm out of their hold, but -as is typical- they are stronger than a four-year-old. I turn to glare at the person, but I pause, 'The Inoichi cosplayer? Wait, no, not cosplay. If I'm right, that would mean...' I trail off as we reach the hospital.

I zone out for a bit, to ponder the meaning of life. A hand waving in front of me pulls me back to the present. I'm in a new room now, it looks like a therapist's office probably for kids if the garish and "cutesy" decor is anything to go by. The man says some stuff, but again, I don't speak Japanese. Although, I really wish I did right now.

I give a long-suffering sigh. The ma-... Inoichi asks something, probably along the lines of 'What's wrong?' or 'Everything alright?' I sigh once more and I "have a debate in my head" AKA 'The fuck am I supposed to do?! How the heck am I going to let him know I can't speak his language!? Wouldn't English be a bit suspicious?... Aw, Fluk it.' I've been ignoring him this whole time and he seems to have gotten somewhat frustrated.

I sit up straighter and say "I can't understand you."

Inoichi has never been so confused.

He thought that the girl was ignoring him at first, but then she started to talk and nothing but gibberish came out. "If you don't want to talk you can just say it," he said with a sigh. The girl huffed and spouted more nonsense. "Will you please talk to me, I only want to help.," he spoke with a gentle tone. She started to look frustrated, but she just said more gibberish.

Inoichi began to notice something repeating, an "Ai" sound at the start of most of her... sentences? While they don't make sense there seems to be a... pattern.

'Starting with that "Ai" sound, followed by a "Do" and a strange "Nt," it all seems to be one word. Although occasionally the "Do" is replaced by a "Ka" which is truly perplexing, as it doesn't make sense with any kind of structure I'm aware of. But then again I suppose I'm not a linguist, so who am I to say? What I do know, is that I'm gonna need someone with more experience in this field.'

Inoichi got up and motioned for the girl to stay, before leaving the room in search of assistance.

I'm not dead! Sorry for the long wait, I've been sitting on this chapter for so fricking long trying and trying to make it longer or better or just something and I'm still not satisfied with it! Honestly, with this specific story, I'm pretty sure reviews are the one thing that is keeping me going.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned in the last chapter's footnotes that I had kind of given up on the story by the time I posted the first chapter. That definitely still stands, but I promise I will not abandon the story because I'm not gonna do that to the people reading it. I can't promise that the chapters will be long or that the endings will make any sense. At this point, I feel like I'm screaming into the void whenever I'm trying to write this and it's just not working.

I guess I'm kind of just working on fumes with this story, maybe one day I'll find something that reignites my spark for it on my own again so I don't have to rely on reviews, but until then that is simply a pipe dream.

Again, I promise that one day I will finish this. It might take a while but please bear with me.

Reviews keep this story alive! Please keep criticism respectful. No flames!

Drink some water, go touch some grass, and have a nice day/night! A.M out~

P.S: If it's night right now, please go to sleep!
