Kelly arrived to Med after several minutes.
"Hey Severide you come to see Casey? Asked April.
"Yes any change?" Asked kelly any improvement.
"Nothing yet, there's Gabby."
"Perfect I'll go see them." She said walking to Matt's room but she had no idea what was waiting for her. She saw Gabby lying on the floor bleeding. "Gabby Gabby Gabby answer come on. Help please I need help! Shouted Severide.
"What's going on?" Maggie came running in. "Oh my god get a stretcher and get Natalie now."
"Come on Gabby come on." Begged Kelly in desperation, Maggie she can't lose her baby they already lost one they can't lose another."
They put Gabby on the gurney and took her to the O.R. Kelly took out his cell phone, he had to tell the rest of the team and her brother.
After a few hours everyone was waiting in the room and no one had any news.
"Kelly, did you see anything?" Asked Antonio worriedly.
"Nothing, I got to the room and found her lying there bleeding, I could feel the baby move but she didn't wake up. He said with his voice cracking.
"Here comes Will," Otis pointed out, making everyone stand up.
"How's my sister?" Asked Dawson the elder, feeling afraid that something bad has happened to his sister and niece, please tell me."
"Gabby lost a lot of blood, and we did an emergency c-section, the baby was suffocating but we were able to save her, she weighs 2.8 pounds and is 53 cm." Said Will.
"And Gabby? How is she? Boden intervenes with a worried tone.
"We had to give her a transfusion but ill you know when you can come in and see her." He said, leaving the room, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
"Let Matt find out and he will be furious." whispered Otis, everyone looked at him with a glare.
"Matt is going to wake up and the first thing he will do is ask about Gabby and her baby." Said Otis. "And they will tell him that they are both fine that his daughter was born earlier but there is no danger." Ordered Boden, everyone nodded, Kelly broke down in Stella's arms.
"Hey relax gabby and her baby are fine, you heard Will." Said Stella rubbing his shoulder.
Enviaste "It's my fault I should have come earlier." He cried out.
"But she's okay, we'll see them later, yeah?" She whispered hugging him.
In Matt's room, he began to slowly open his eyes, dazed, but he closed them again because of the discomfort from the light in the room.
"Ga..gabby." He said in a weak voice, he realized someone was next to him.
"Hey hi, I'm going to get Will. They indicated for one of the nurses to come in. "Dr Halstead."
"What's wrong?"
"Casey woke up asking Gabby, are they going to tell him?"
"No, he denied, I'm going to go check on him, you call Severide and Boden please."
"Understood." He headed to the waiting room where he found everyone still there after all that time. Matt gave a slight sigh following the path.
"Guys I have some news."
"Did something happen with Gabby?" Kelly started to get upset, he didn't want any more bad news.
"Calm down, she is still resting. It's about Matt," she explained.
"What about him?" Boden asked confused.
"He woke up - he finally said it, everyone sighed in relief, The first thing he asked for was Gabby."
"They won't tell him anything about gabby, will they?"
"No, he denied, we will still see how he evolves."
Severide ran out to Matt where he met him with a smile.
"Hey." whispered Matt, where is Gabby and Shay?"
He looked at Will confused and didn't understand anything.
"Kelly can we talk?" He nods while walking out with Will, he closes the door.
"What's wrong? Is something wrong? He mentioned Shay but she's been gone."
"He has amnesia because of the blow and because of the swelling in his brain, he explained, we'll see how it goes these next few days."
"So he doesn't remember that he has a daughter? Asked Kelly worried.
"No." He said sadly
"But if he sees Gabby, do you think he might remember?"
"He will sleep for few more hours and then we will do another tomography, he indicated, those pains are normal and he is not in danger."
Antonio was at Gabby's side, stroking her hand, while she was sleeping soundly.
"I will find the one who did this to you," he whispered, his voice cracking, "I promise, little sister, I'm sorry I didn't protect you."
The door opened and Kelly stepped inside, his eyes going straight to her.
"Has there been any changes?" He asked, coming to Gabby's side.
"Nothing," he whispered, "the baby will be brought in later to meet him, they say she weighs 2,850 and is 53cm."
"Matt has woken up." Kelly said, looking at Antonio and letting the tears flow.
"How is he?" He kept asking for Gabby."
"He has amnesia, he remembers her and he also asked about Shay but he doesn't remember his baby or that Gabby was pregnant." He said in a weak voice.
"My baby, mumbled Gabby waking up, where is my baby?"
"Gabby calm down your baby is fine they managed to save her, said Antonio trying to calm her down, they will bring her back in a while."
"And Matt, do you know anything?" Asked Gabby. Kelly looked at the older Dawson and he nodded.
"He woke up but went back to sleep because he had a headache, he doesn't know what happened to you, they said it was advisable to wait a few days," He explained.
April came in with the stroller where the girl was wrapped in a pink blanket and a pink hat.
"What's her name?" Asked Antonio.
"Emma Elizabeth," said Gabby holding her baby in her arms, Kelly swallowed as her eyes filled with tears.
"Like Shay." She whispered holding Emma's little fingers.
Gabby gave her a small kiss on her forehead, tears rolled down all of their cheeks.
Can I hold her? Asked Severide nervously.
"She is your goddaughter, of course you can." He nodded, carefully Kelly lifted her up and cradled her in his arms. "Hello princess, you are very beautiful, I am your godfather Kelly and I will take care of you as Auntie Shay would have done."
"She would have been the most spoiled kid with Shay as an aunt, she wouldn't have left Emma at all." Antonio laughed.
"That's true." Gabby bursted into tears, Antonio approached her and wrapped her in his arms. I miss her so much."
"I know, I know." whispered Antonio.
"I told her that I wanted to start a family and she said that I should name them after her, she quickly said that she wanted to be the godmother and that she would buy her everything, she would be the most loved baby, she would have loved her so much."
