Sue's true feelings come to the surface. Contains some language.

Carrie wasn't sure why but there was something going on with Sue, she acted a bit odd the past couple days, she didn't even invite her to sleep in her bed or go to the mall or diner, she just assumed she got busy but you'd think after giving her a scare for being gone that one evening she'd want to keep her by her side constantly.

"I'm going to the library, Sue," Carrie told her Saturday morning.

Sue was on her laptop in the living room, "Ok, have fun," Sue didn't even look at her or wave, just odd, different from her more upbeat self. Carrie shook this off and left, maybe she'd be different later, she wasn't sure if she had a lot of homework or what.

Carrie was going to meet Allyson down the street, she had this strange feeling like she was being followed but it had to be just nerves because she looked all around and saw nothing but a stray dog. Carrie met with Allyson at the fork in the road; the keyed line was still visible around the car. "I am going to kill whoever it was that did that," Allyson vowed, her mother was of course pissed, she knew people in Chamberlain were ignorant but didn't know they would resort to something so juvenile.

Carrie swore she saw Sue's car behind them for a split second but the next time she checked her mirror it was gone. Allyson was proud of Carrie's progress, she had even impressed her grandmother, in some ways it was like she was part of the family. After a morning full of exploding mannequin heads Allyson decided to take Carrie out to celebrate and invited Laurie to come with them but she declined, "You kids have fun."

Chatty and laughing, Carrie and Allyson parked at the diner and were greeted by Sue sitting in the usual booth. Sue smirked slightly, the two do gooders went quiet.

"Sue...," Carrie said, eyes wide.

Allyson cleared her throat, "Hey."

"Charmed," Sue said, not giving her the time of day, she turned attention to Carrie, "I thought you were at the library, Carrie."

"I-I...," Carrie couldn't lie, not with Sue giving her those judging eyes, she looked down at the floor and said, "I went to Haddonfield."

"You went to Haddonfield," Sue repeated.

Allyson smiled a bit and tried breaking the tension, "Technically, Grandmother's house is just outside of Haddonfield..."

"Yeah, I'm sorry, who are you?"

Allyson scratched the back of her head, "Allyson Nelson...you're Sue?"

"Susan. Only family and close friends call me Sue," she caught Carrie looking at her, Carrie hid behind her hair for the remainder of their conversation.

"Ok. Susan. You should know that your sister is quite gifted and well she's safe with me. I never let her out of my sight."

Both Carrie and Sue jerked their heads at the word 'Sister'. Carrie never really properly stated to Allyson what Sue was to her.

"Hm. I see," Sue said, looking at both liars, "Say, Carrie, why don't you order a shake while Allyson and I have a talk outside?" She left some bills on the table.

Allyson found herself practically pushed out the door, she looked back at Carrie to see if she'd offer some assistance, but she watched on helpless.

Allyson felt her stomach knot, but she knew Sue wouldn't hurt her...or at least she really really hoped she wouldn't; both girls were about even height, tall with some reach on them so it could be an even match if it came to blows.

"Ok. What's going on?"

"Look, I'm sorry, you have every right to know what's going on."

Sue glared at her, "You're damn right I do!"

Allyson swallowed, "Have you ever heard of Michael Myers?"

Sue paused, she had heard that name before, a ghost story almost, vengeful lunatic that broke out of the asylum, "What about him?"

"He's been loose for a while now and well my grandmother Laurie Strode has fought him before. We think he'll be back this Halloween but we want to make sure he'll be stopped once and for all."

Sue got angry, she could see clearly what this was, "And you want to use, Carrie? You want her to fight that monster?!"

"B-but she can! Her power! She's gotten so good at using it..."

Sue cut her off, fearful someone nearby would hear, "Shut up!"

Allyson realized the number of people on the street, "Sorry."

Sue approached her and jabbed a finger in her chest, "You have no right."

Allyson glared at her, she could see this dark look in her eye, "Carrie wants to help."

Sue could laugh, "You just want to exploit her. Carrie doesn't hurt people. I can't risk her being seen by the whole town."

Allyson shook her head, she never got angry, she hated confrontation, "I don't want to exploit her. But if she stops him she'll be a hero. Don't you see that?"

Sue folded her arms, "I saw you two sharing a shake in our booth! That's what I saw!"

Allyson wasn't sure how to react to that, "What?"

"You two seem to be joined at the hip. I don't know what she sees in you honestly."

"Your sister can make up her own mind, Sue. About what she wants to do or who she wants to be her friend. I'm her friend."

Sue got a little louder, "We're not sisters, moron. I'm her best friend for your information. So why don't you get in your piece of shit station wagon and go back to your backwards town!"

Allyson went quiet a moment, she was lost after her first sentence, "Wait. You're not sisters?" Sue rolled her eyes, "So you're...wait..."

"What?" Sue sighed.

"You're in love with her."

Sue's face dropped, it was weird, such an out of left field accusation, "Um, excuse me, what?"

Allyson folded her arms, she never acted this smug very often, but the opportunity seemed right, "Well, it's obvious. Don't you think so?"

Sue felt a heat hit the back of her neck, her face was burning, she was fighting back the urge to wring this girl's neck.

Allyson looked her up and down, she wasn't sure whether to laugh or feel sorry for her, "Stay away from me. In fact why don't you stay away from Carrie while you're at it!"

Allyson went back into the diner leaving Sue a fuming red mess, she didn't know what to do now with her head a mess of emotions and cruel thoughts she wanted to lash out.

Sue was glum at home, her mother made them both green tea, she felt like she hadn't caught up with daughter in a while, "Sue, honey, please, what's troubling you?"

Sue looked up from her cup, "It's Carrie."

Her mother looked like she wanted to sigh but disguised it with a slight yawn, "What now? Did you see her mother?"

Sue shook her head, "No. Worse. This girl from Haddonfield."

Sue's mother knew Sue was never prejudice against anyone so it was hard to be sure if she was kidding, "Oh? Who is she?"

"No idea but she's bad news."

Her mother chuckled, "You sound like you're hanging around Chris too much. I'm sure she's not all bad what do her and Carrie do?"

Sue never tried to explain to her mother about Carrie's power, she knew she would never believe her, "I think she's using her, she's pretending to be her friend."

Sue's mother took a sip of her tea and smiled, "I think I know what this is really all about."

Sue was on the edge of her seat, "You do?"

She took Sue's hand and made her look at her, "Honey, I know you've been attached to Carrie for some time now and I've seen the way you take care of her. It's ok, you have my blessing."

Sue was so confused, it was like she was in on some inside joke with that Allyson girl, "Huh?" She strained her forehead.

"Honey, I see the way you two look at each other. I've known for a while now that you like other girls."

Sue raised her eyebrows, alarm bells sounded off in her head, "Mom I..."

"You don't have to hide who you are and I'm sure you don't have to worry about this girl from Haddonfield because I know how Carrie feels about you too. Don't worry, I'm sure she knows what she's doing."

Sue buried her face in her hands, she wanted to scream but managed to force it out internally. She excused herself from the table, she scared her mother when she slipped and caught herself before she fell.

"I need to go get some air!"

She hurried out the door, a stroll around the block always helped clear her head.

Sue walked up the street, she did not need this right now, she thought closely about her relationship, was it odd she wanted to be so close to her? She loved spending time with her. She remembered back to the days she felt bad ignoring her, those days in gym class where Chris would make some crude remark and Sue would just sit there looking at Carrie, seeing her all by herself. She felt so dumb, kicking up leaves, remembering all of the times with Carrie that made her laugh and sometimes where she caught herself looking at her from across the classroom for too long. Come to think of it she did always keep a close eye on her even when they weren't in any class. She felt something different being around her, different than how she felt with Tommy. 'Oh no', she thought, 'Could it really be...' Sue bit her bottom lip hard, she could feel it bleeding, she did care deeply for her, more than she had thought but it was just too much to accept.

Out of the bushes is when she got the fright of her life, Sue had no time to brace herself or try and run, this blur of a woman jumped her; she could smell trash or something on her.

"WHERE IS SHE?"

Sue screamed, she stuck her hands out to block the mad woman's slaps, she ended up on her back, flat on the concrete of the sidewalk with this animal woman on top of her, she had trouble breathing with her stench.

"I SAID: WHERE IS SHE! YOU HARLOT! YOU JEEZEBEL!"

Sue saw her eyes well enough to recognize her, Margaret White! She was back! No one was there to help her, she was on her own, the one time she wished she carried pepper spray.

Margaret grabbed Sue's wrists and mocked her, "YOU STUPID SLUT! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH MY DAUGHTER?!"

Sue didn't see what happened after this, Margaret was just no longer on her, she flew across the sidewalk like she'd been thrown and hit a telephone pole. Sue thought she was having a panic attack, she saw a man's pants, grey, maybe a jumpsuit or work clothes of some sort, she saw how muddy his boots were. She looked up but couldn't see his face, the sun was blinding her.

"T-thank you," she reached up when she saw his hand come towards her only something in his hand shined in the sun. A kitchen knife! He leaned down and prepared his knife hand to stab, it was then she saw his white face with no eyes. Sue screamed and rolled away from him, she picked herself up and ran down the street. She was surprised just how slow she was, you'd think after years of enduring Miss Desjardin's gym class she'd able to run better than this by now. She didn't feel too beat up after her fall but she was so full of adrenaline she didn't clue into any broken joints all she wanted to do was get to Carrie before either of these creeps did!

To be continued!
