Evershade Valley

The Evershade Valley a place where there's been told a lot of friendly ghosts. Under the watchful eye of the mysterious Dark Moon. That was until somebody shattered it and thus making all of the ghosts turn hostile. Eerie fog covered the whole valley.

Lucky awoke with a start as he heard a bang. He opened his eyes and saw that he was on a pillow and then he looked around and saw computer and screens galore. He stared it all in wonder then he heard the door opening and turned his attention to it.

Then a small old man came in. He had swirling glasses, a white lab coat, and he was carrying a dog bowl. He was delighted to see the Dalmatian pup awake.

?: Ah! You're finally awake! Are you ok?

Lucky: Yeah I'm good. Thank you.

?: That's good news I was getting worried.

Before the scientist can say anything else Lucky yelped in surprise.

?: What's the matter? You look like you seen a ghost.

Lucky: You can understand me?!

The scientist looked confused for a second and then understood as he put down the empty dog bowl.

?: Ohhhh you're not from around here. Well here in this world we have lots of a different species that we can communicate than we normally do. See hearing you talk is no surprise to me, so you don't have to worry youngster.

Lucky began to calm down as he started to understand of his situation.

Lucky: Ohh ok. Well to start off my name is Lucky by the way. Who are you?

E. Gadd: A polite one aren't you? Well I'm Professor Elvin Gadd or you can call me E. Gadd for short. Brilliant inventor, a genius, and researcher of the paranormal.

Lucky: Nice to meet you professor. Paranormal? As in you study ghosts?

E. Gadd: Correct young feller. After my last adventure with my ghost hunter I've became somewhat an authority of the field.

Lucky: I forgot to ask where are we?

E. Gadd: You are in one of this world's hidden dark corners and this part is called Evershade Valley and we are in this impenetrable Bunker. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't in serious trouble.

Lucky grew nervous and didn't like the sound of it.

Lucky: What's wrong Professor?

E. Gadd walked in and got into his elevated chair as Lucky got off the pillow and sat in front of him.

E. Gadd: (I tried to find him but I guess he'll have to do.) Well I was studying ghosts as you already know and when I heard that there was a way to study ghosts in a peaceful environment I jumped at the chance and took it. I was having a wonderful time until somebody or something shattered the Dark Moon and turned all the ghosts hostile. The situation got so bad I had to get away to safety.

Lucky: That's terrible! What is the Dark Moon?

E. Gadd pointed to a screen that had an outline of the moon.

E. Gadd: See that there? That's the Dark Moon. It's a mysterious celestial body that has a pacifying effect on all ghosts of the Evershade Valley. It was beautiful until I found this.

E. Gadd pulled out a corner purple fragment and it was coated with electricity. Lucky's eyes grew with wonder.

E. Gadd: This is a fragment of the Dark Moon I found on the way here. It also seems to be charged with negative energy.

Lucky: Whoa. But who or what would do such a thing?

E. Gadd: That's what I'm trying to figure out. I don't know yet. In the meantime I've got inventions for situations like these. You might want to step back a bit.

Lucky did so and a podium popped up and then E. Gadd placed the fragment onto it. Then a few brushes came out and began to brush the fragment until they stopped and the fragment looked pure again.

Then they both heard a whooshing sound outside.

The podium went back down and taking the fragment with it.

Lucky: Wow that's really interesting. But why am I here?

E. Gadd looked from the map on his monitor and focused his attention on Lucky with interest.

E. Gadd: That's what I want to know. How did you get here?

Lucky explained everything back home and that strange portal. By the time he was done E. Gadd pondered.

E. Gadd: Hmm interesting. From what you told me about this portal frame it sounds very rare. But to do so it would take a lot power to do. Do you know anything or anyone who could have such power?

Lucky shook his head and put his head down.

Lucky: I don't even know how my family and friends are doing right now. I bet they're worried about me.

E. Gadd: Hmm. Oh! I've got an idea! How about we help each other out?

Lucky: Huh?

E. Gadd: You help me with my situation and I'll help you find a way to get home.

Lucky perked up and wagged his tail in happiness.

Lucky: Really?! You'll help me?!

E. Gadd: Of course! What are friends for?

Lucky: Thanks Professor! How can I help you?

E. Gadd: Well since you are here anyway. I've got a ghost hunter but I couldn't find him to help with this. So I was wondering if you could not only capture the ghosts of the Evershade Valley but, also help me restore the Dark Moon and bring all the ghosts back to normal along with getting rid of the eerie fog outside. Cause if we don't, I worry that the ghosts here will leave this valley and start attacking worlds to come. So will you help me Lucky?

Lucky thought about it for a minute and then with a satisfied answer.

Lucky: Don't worry Professor! I'll help you stop those ghosts and restore the Dark Moon!

E. Gadd in delight clapped his hands.

E. Gadd: Thank you my Boy. Now then to find the Dark Moon pieces you'll have to get through a mansion where a piece landed nearby I think.

Lucky: Alright where do I go first?

E. Gadd pulled up a monitor with a map of the Evershade Valley and a mansion popped up on the map.

E. Gadd: That there youngster is the Gloomy Manor. It's the one mansion where I had a lab before I escaped when the ghosts got all hostile.

Lucky then grew nervous on how scary it looked. E. Gadd saw this and tried to comfort him.

E. Gadd: What are you scared of sonny? It's only a few harmless ghosts. Well...I mean a few hundred ghosts. And they are not exactly harmless. But on the bright side-- With my brains and your...ah...your...Hmm. We're in bit of a pickle here aren't we?

Lucky: Yeeaah...I don't exactly know how to catch ghosts or where to start on what to do.

E. Gadd: Well the only way out of this mess is to restore the Dark Moon. Which means you are going to need some ghost-hunting gear son!

Lucky: Cool! What do I need?

E. Gadd: Well I did leave my new Poltergust 5000 somewhere in the Gloomy Manor but, I don't think you would be able to use it. Not unless you can stand on your hind legs for moments of time.

Lucky: Actually I can.

E. Gadd: That's good and it spares me the time of making a new Poltergust. But here are the things that you will need.

E. Gadd pulled out a visor that had a glass interface for the eyes.

E. Gadd: I was going to give you the special DS but you look like you couldn't hold it while holding other things but have this instead. This is a customized visor what I like to call the F.S. Or Face Screen. It shows your number of keys, treasure, and special items as you collect. It even shows how much health you have and pulls up a map of the mansion and a cursor of you in case if you are lost. It even allows me to communicate with you while you are exploring.

Lucky puts on the visor and true to E. Gadd's word he did see all the things like he said.

E. Gadd: If you click the button on the right it activates the flashlight.

Lucky did so and it turned on a light just like a flashlight would work, he turned it off and listened for more instructions.

Lucky: Thank you Professor.

E. Gadd: Alright let's test the FS.

E. Gadd pressed a button and it activated a ringtone and Lucky saw a message that said 'Incoming Call From Professor E. Gadd!' and he clicked the answer icon.

Lucky: It works! Awesome!

E. Gadd: Alright young feller let me mark on where the Poltergust 5000's signal is on your map.

Lucky then saw an exclamation point over on one room near the entrance that said Garage.

E. Gadd: That's the Garage. I think that's where I left the Poltergust 5000. Alright! Are you ready? I'm going to zap you to the Gloomy Manor with my largely new and untested Pixelator! Good luck...Lucky!

Before Lucky could acknowledge, the professor pressed the button and the monitor activated and Lucky was zapped and pixelated into the monitor away while E. Gadd waved good luck to him.
