Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 7 of Temporary Home. There will be fluffy moments between Ash and Aeron while there is a fight going on between Ellen and Jo which Aeron avoids. What will Sam and Dean think when they find out that Ash treats Aeron like a little sister. Some nice fluffy moments. Also an embarrassing moment. I hope that I do alright with this chapter. Without further ado Chapter 7 of Temporary Home.

Chapter 7

Sam, Dean, and Aeron got out of the Impala.

"Los Angeles, California." Dean said with a smile.

Aeron rolled her eyes. "Not setting foot in LA unless it is something that we have to deal with now." Aeron said, shaking her head.

"What's in LA anyway?" Sam asked, looking at his big brother.

"Young girl's been kidnapped by an evil cult." Dean said with a bigger smile.

"Yeah? Girl got a name?"

"Katie Holmes."

Sam laughed. "That's funny. And for you, so bitchy."

They heard the sound of breaking glass and raised voices.

"Of course, on the other hand… catfight." Dean said, blinking in confusion.

"Eh I'm gonna go the other way through the back." Aeron said slipping around the boys heading towards the back of the roadhouse. No way in hell she was going to be dealing with a mother and daughter fighting. She had heard Jo and Ellen fight on countless occasions. She learned at a young age to avoid when the Harvelle's were fighting. You stay out of the way.

"Aeron, where are you going?" Sam asked in confusion.

"You two might not want to go in there." She said as she opened the back door slipping in.

Sam and Dean looked at one another. The two of them shrugged, not heeding Aeron's warning.

SNSNSN

Aeron made it to Ash's door. She brought her hand up and knocked on it loudly.

The door creaked open. Ash stuck his head out and saw Aeron. "Hiding?" He questioned her.

Aeron smiled. "You know me so well Asher."

"Get your skinny ass in here then Annie Oakley."

Aeron slipped into Ash's room. She looked around and shook her head. "You haven't changed the room since I last hid in here."

"Did you think it would?"

Aeron tried to ignore the boxers that laid on the floor. "I guess not." She shook her head.

"Ipod update or you just wanna party?" He questioned looking at her with a knowing look.

Aeron shook her head. "You still have the clothes that I left?"

Ash tossed them to her.

"Thanks." She said, slipping into his bathroom that he had. She changed out of her clothes that she wore which was slightly uncomfortable for her. She just wanted out of the jeans that she wore. She shook her head when she realized the boys only saw her in jackets and tanks and shirts, never a flannel. She buttoned a few of the buttons then tied it under her bust. She came out dressed in her purple flannel, extremely faded blue jean short that resembled daisy dukes. Sadly they used to be jeans until a case had gone south and she had to make them into shorts. She rubbed her head as she walked over to Ash. "Any new music?" She questioned looking at Ash.

Ash looked at her and chuckled. "Nothing you haven't heard."

Aeron chuckled. "Oh come on. You must've gotten something new that I would listen to."

Ash let out a sigh and clicked on a button. "Perhaps this one."

Music from the 70's filled the room.

Aeron grinned. "Old music." She said laughing lightly.

"Only the best for Annie Oakley."

Aeron shoved Ash a little bit. She laughed, shaking her head. "You are a pain in the ass."

"Yeah and you're a pain in my ass."

"Yeah but what would ya do without me?" She questioned shoving him again.

"I have no idea. You're my little sister."

"Sudo." She said, wrapping her arms around his neck looking at his computer as the music blared from his computer.

There was a knock on the door alerting them that someone was there.

Aeron looked at Ash. "You want to get the door, Dr. Badass?"

Ash got up and went towards the door. "Might be Sam and Dean."

Aeron nodded her head. "Without a doubt."

Ash opened the door. "Sam. Dean. What can I do for you?"

"Aeron back here?" Dean questioned.

"Oh yeah she is."

Aeron came up behind Ash. "What's up boys?" She questioned looking at them. Her cheeks were a bit pink due to the fact that they were seeing her in something different. Something that she didn't want to be seen in.

Sam and Dean's eyes widened.

Aeron waved her hand. "Boys?"

Sam swallowed the lump in his throat.

Dean ran a hand through his hair. "We got a case." He told her.

"Oh? Where?" She questioned reaching around Ash grabbing her leather coat.

"Philadelphia."

"Pennsylvania?" She questioned.

"Yeah. Come on and we will tell you on the way." Sam told her trying not to look at her form that was hardly dressed in his eyes.

"Alright." She looked at Ash. "Sorry Asher."

"Hey it's fine. We will hang out some other time." He said, patting her on the arm. "Just don't forget your other clothes."

"I won't."

SNSNSN

Aeron got into the Impala. She got comfortable in the back seat. "So tell me what is up about this case?"

"Jo made this case. In the last 80 years six girls have gone missing." Dean told her.

"Where?"

"In an apartment complex."

"Okay? The girls look like what?"

"They're blonde."

"Jo blonde or me blonde?" She asked.

"Um Jo blonde."

"And you thought that this was wise to take her case?"

"Yes." Sam nodded his head.

"Ellen and her were fighting about it?"

"Yes."

Aeron let out a sigh. She knew what would happen. The boys didn't.

"Aeron you knew that this was going to happen?" Dean asked, looking at her.

"Well duh. I've been around when those two fight. I hide with Ash when that happens. Why do you think that I said you didn't want to go in there."

"Well… Ellen was pretty upset with Jo wanting to go on this hunt."

"Ellen lost everyone. Jo is the last of her family. Hell Ellen gets mad at me for wanting to hunt."

"Oh?"

"Story for a later time."

SPNSPN

Dean parked the car outside of the apartment building.

The three of them got out of the Impala.

Aeron followed the two boys. She had a chance to change her clothes into something that wasn't so embarrassing for her and the boys.

"I feel kind of bad, for snaking Jo's case." Sam softly felt rather guilty for taking the blonde haired girl's case.

"Yeah, maybe she put together a good file. But could you see her out here working on one of these things? I don't think so." Dean said, shaking his head.

"Aeron is with us."

"Well she knows what hunting is about. Jo does not." Dean pointed out to Sam.

Aeron shrugged her shoulders. "He does have a point." She told Sam.

The three of them pulled out their EMF readers.

"You two getting anything?" Dean asked them.

"No, not yet." Sam said, shaking his head.

"Nope sorry Dean." Aeron said, shaking her head.

Sam ran his reader over the light switch. It began to purr. He leaned over. "What's that?"

"What?"

Sam touched the goo. "Holy crap."

Dean came over and touched it as well. "That's ectoplasm. Well, Sam, I think I know what we're dealing with here. It's the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man."

"Oh come on Dean come off it." Aeron said, rolling her eyes.

"Dean, I've only seen this stuff, like, twice. I Mean, to make this stuff you have to be one majorly pissed off spirit." Sam said, rolling his eyes as well.

"Alright, let's find this badass before he snags any more girls."

The three of them exited the apartment and walked down the hallway. They heard voices and they hid.

Aeron blinked. She knew that voice. It was Jo and Jo wasn't even supposed to be here. "Damn it."

"It's so convenient." Jo said.

"Yeah, it's a great building, fixed it up real nice. All the apartments are furnished, too."

"It is so spacious. You know, my friend told me I absolutely have to come and check it out, and I have to admit, she was right. You did a really good job with this place."

Dean stepped out with Aeron and Sam. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"There you are, honey." Jo said, grabbing Dean around the waist. "This is my boyfriend Dean and his buddy Sam and his girlfriend Aeron."

"Good to meetcha. Quite a gal you've got here."

Dean smacked Jo's ass. "Oh yeah, she's a pistol."

"So did you already check out that apartment? The one for rent?" Jo asked him softly.

"Yeah. Yes. Loved it. Heh. Great flow."

"How'd you get in?"

"It was open." Dean said, hoping that he, Sam, and Aeron weren't caught.

"Now, Ed, um when did the last tenant move out?" Jo asked, looking at him.

"Oh about a month ago. Cut and run too. Stuck me for the rent."

"Well. Her loss, our gain! Cause if Dean-o loves it, it's good enough for me."

"Oh, sweetie." Dean smacked her ass again.

Aeron buried her face into Sam's shirt.

Jo pulled out a wad of cash. "We'll take it."

SNSNSN

"I'll flip you for the sofa." Jo told Dean.

"Does your mother even know you're here?" Dean asked her.

"Told her I was going to Vegas."

Aeron shook her head. "You realize how much trouble you will get into Jo."

"Aeron, she lets you go on hunts."

Aeron crossed her arms. "Jo, I am not her daughter. Sudo yes, but you are her daughter."

"You think that she really is gonna buy that?" Dean questioned Jo.

"I'm not an idiot. I got Ash to lay a credit card trail all the way to the casinos."

Aeron groaned. Of course she would bring Ash into this.

"You know, you shouldn't lie to your mom. Shouldn't be here either."

Jo rolled her eyes. "Well, I am. So untwist your boxers and deal with it."

"Where'd you get all that money from, anyways?" Sam asked, looking at Jo.

"Working at the Roadhouse."

"Hunters don't tip that well." Dean said, shaking his head.

"Well, they aren't good at poker, either." Jo snapped back.

Aeron groaned. This was going nowhere and fast.

Dean's phone rang. He answered it. "Yeah." His eyes went wide. "Oh, hi Ellen."

Aeron groaned. Oh this was bad. Very very bad. Aeron looked at Jo and saw the look that Jo had on her face.

"I'm telling her." He said covering the mouthpiece of his cell phone so Ellen didn't hear him.

Aeron shook her head. This was going to end badly. It was going to end worse if Dean lied to Ellen.

"I haven't seen her." Dean lied. He closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Yeah, I'm sure."

Aeron tried not to groan.

"Absolutely." Dean said gruffly. He hung up his phone.

Jo grinned cheerfully.

Aeron shook her head. "Your mother is going to kill you. In fact she is gonna kill you both. You better hope and pray that she doesn't call me."

Jo looked at Aeron. "Oh come on Ryan…"

"Don't Jo. I've been yelled at by your mother before. Hell I've been thrown out of the damn roadhouse because of fighting with her." Aeron threw her arms up in the air. "So don't you dare drag me into this. Drag me into another fight with your mother. You know for a fact that she will win."

Jo looked down. She knew that was true. She was there when Aeron and her mother had gotten into it and it was over a hunt.

SNSNSN

Dean is pacing back and forth, Jo was sitting at the table with the blueprints spread out on the table and flipping a small knife around. Aeron was leaning against the wall polishing her knife that she had on her.

"This place was built in 1924. It was originally a warehouse, converted into apartments a few months ago." Jo explained to them.

"Yeah? What was here before 1924?" Dean questioned looking at Jo.

"Nothing. Empty field." Jo replied.

"So most likely scenario, someone died bloody in the building, and now he's back and raising hell." Sam said, rubbing his face.

"I already checked. In the past eighty two years, zero violent deaths. Unless you count a janitor who slipped on a wet floor." Jo said, looking at Sam. She looked at Dean. "Would you sit down, please?"

Dean sat down with a groan. "So, have you checked police reports, county death records…"

"Obituaries, mortuary reports and seven other sources. I know what I'm doing." Jo snapped at Dean.

"Because you decided to crash one of my hunts before." Aeron said, rolling her eyes.

Dean let out a sigh. "I think the jury's still out on that one. Could you put the knife down?"

Jo put the knife down.

"Okay! So, uh, it's something else, then." Sam let out a sigh.

"Could it be a cursed object?" Aeron asked, looking at the three of them.

"Well, we've got to scan the whole building. Everywhere we can get to, right?" Jo asked, looking at the three of them.

"Right. So. You and I, we'll take the top two floors." Dean told Jo.

"We'd move faster if we split up."

"Oh, this isn't negotiable. Aeron is going with Sam." Dean said, looking at the two young hunters.

"Got it Dean." Aeron said, waving her hand.

SNSNSN

Jo and Dean were walking down a dim hallway. Both of them had EMF readers out.

"So. You gonna buy me dinner?" Jo asked flirting with Dean.

"What are you talking about?" Dean snapped. He wasn't sure about Jo being on this hunt. Hell, when he heard that Jo had snuck onto one of Aaron's hunts, he was scared of what would happen when Ellen found out he lied to her.

"It's just if you're gonna ride me this close it's only decent you buy me dinner." Jo said with a smile.

"Oh, that's hilarious. You know, it's bad enough I lied to your mom, but if you think I'm letting you out of my sight… I don't know if you've noticed, but you're kind of the spirit's type."

"Exactly. But so is Aeron."

"She's red blonde. Not blonde like you Jo." Dean said, shaking his head.

SNSNSN

Aeron and Sam walked down a different set of hallways. Both of them had their EMFs out.

"So you and Jo have history?" Sam asked as they walked.

Aeron slipped one of her hands in her pocket. "Yeah. Got into some trouble with her too."

"She snuck in on one of your hunts?" He asked, looking over at her.

Her lips went into a pout. Her eyes glazed over in thought. "Oh yeah." She nipped her bottom lip with her teeth. "It was a vamp hunt. She was lucky she wasn't killed." She groaned. "She was lucky that I was able to kill that vamp before it took a bite of her."

"And Ellen threw you out of the Roadhouse."

"Oh yeah. Because I didn't send Jo back when I had found out that she was there. Dean doesn't know how much trouble he is going to be in when she finds out that he lied. Jo is gonna be in trouble. But Dean." Aeron shook her head. "He is going to be in more trouble than me."

"I don't doubt it." Sam said with a sigh.

SNSNSN

Dean rubbed his face. "I'm so regretting this."

"You know, I've had it up to here with your crap." Jo snapped.

"Excuse me?"

"You chauvinist crap. You think women can't do the job." Jo hissed.

"Sweetheart, this ain't gender studies. Women can do the job fine. Amateurs can't. You have no experience. What you do have is a bunch of half-baked romances that some barflies put in your head."

Jo rolled her eyes. "No you sound like my mother and Aeron."

"Oh, and that's a bad thing? Because let me tell you…"

"What?"

"Forget it." Dean said, shaking his head. He was tired of explaining to Jo.

Jo let out a frustrated sigh. "No, you started this."

"Jo, you've got options. No one in their right mind chooses this life. My dad started me in this when I was so young… I wish I could do something else."

"You love the job." Jo pointed out.

"Yeah, but I'm a little twisted."

Jo chuckled. "You don't think I'm a little twisted too?"

"Jo, you've got a mother that worries about you. Who wants something more for you? Those are good things. You don't throw things like that away. Might be hard to find later." Dean explained to her.

Jo stood in front of a grating near the floor. She looked at Dean. She turned around gasping.

"What?" Dean asked, looking at her.

"I'm not sure.."

Dean smelled the air. "You smell that?"

Jo sniffed. "What is that, a gas leak?" She asked, confused.

Dean shook his head. "No. Something else. I know it. I just can't put my finger on it."

Jo crouched by the grating. Her EMF went off.

"Mazel Tov. You just found your first spirit."

"It's inside the vent."

Dean crouched beside her. He handed her his flashlight. "Here." He pulled out a screwdriver and unscrewed the grating. He pulled it off the wall. "There's something in there. Here." He reached his arm in and felt around. He pulled out his hand holding out a clump of blonde hair. "Somebody's keeping souvenirs."

SPNSPN

Aeron and Sam were on coffee duty. They let Dean sleep and Jo was busy studying the blueprints that she had. The two of them stopped when they heard sirens.

Sam pulled Aeron close to his body. He looked out the window. "Cops."

Aeron looked at him. "You think another girl went missing?"

Sam looked down at her. "I think so."

"Damn." She muttered. "And Jo is walking into this case blindly."

"Come on, we got to tell them." Sam grabbed onto her wrist and the two of them moved quickly.

The two of them quickly went to the room that they were currently staying at in the apartments.

Sam opened the door and the two of them darted into the room.

Dean looked at them. "Where's the coffee you two?"

"Not important Dean." Aeron said, trying to catch her breath.

"There are cops outside. Another girl disappeared." Sam told them.

"Which means we have bigger problems." Aeron said, running her hand through her hair.

"Damn. I was hoping that this was going to be easier for us." Dean complained.

"Sorry no such luck."

SNSNSN

Sam, Aeron, and Jo were studying the notes. The three of them were going over them a little more urgently than they had done before.

Dean came into the room. "Teresa Ellis, Apartment 2 F. Boyfriend reported her missing around dawn."

"And her apartment?" Jo asked Dean.

"Cracks all over the plaster, walls, ceiling. There was ectoplasm, too."

Aeron groaned. "Well this is just making things worse. A lot worse."

"Well, between that and that tuft of hair. I'd say this sucker's coming from the walls." Sam said, looking at his brother.

"But who is it? Building's history is totally clean." Dean complained.

Jo picked up a picture and showed Aeron.

Aeron nodded her head.

"Well, maybe we're looking in the wrong place." Jo told them.

"What do you mean?" Dean asked her.

"Check this out."

Sam looked at the photo. "An empty field?"

"It's where this building was built. Take a look at the one next door. The windows."

"Bars." Sam said, looking at it closer.

"We're next door to a prison?" Dean said, his eyes widening.

Aeron looked at Jo. "Call Ash."

Jo nodded her head. She pulled out her cell phone.

"A prison. So that will explain some things." Dean said, crossing his arms.

"Perhaps a bit too much." Aeron said, shaking her head. "If there were murderers in the prison who knows how many of them we have to look into. And we have a set time to find out what's going on here. Due to Jo being blonde… Not so sure if the spirit will come after me because I am strawberry blonde."

"Thanks, Ash. And you breathe a word of this to my mom… That's right. I will. With pliers."

Aeron shook her head. That was probably the reason why Ash had agreed to it. Jo had threatened him.

"Okay. Moyamensing prison. Built in 1835, torn down in 1963. And get this. They used to execute people by hanging them in the empty field next door."

"Well then, we need a list. All the people executed there." Sam told her.

"Ash is already on it." Jo said with a smile.

SNSNSN

Sam is scrolling down the long list of names on his laptop.

Aeron looked over Sam's shoulder. "Damn." She said, shaking her head. This was getting worse and worse.

"A hundred fifty seven names?" Sam said with a groan.

"We've gotta narrow that down." Dean told them.

"Yeah."

"Or else we're gonna be digging up a hell of a lot of stuff."

"Haha. Very funny Dean." Aeron said, rolling her eyes. She saw a name that looked familiar to her. She tapped Sam on the shoulder.

Sam looked up at her. "What?"

Aeron pointed to the name Herman Webster Mudgett.

Sam clicked on it frowning. "Herman Webster Mudgett?"

"Yeah?" Jo asked, looking at him.

Sam looked over at Dean. "Wasn't that H.H. Holmes' real name?"

Dean groaned. "You've gotta be kidding me."

"Yep. Holmes was executed at Moyamensing, May 7, 1896." Aeron said, crossing her arms.

"H.H. Holmes himself. Come on, I mean, what are the odds?" Sam asked, looking at the two of them.

"Who is this guy?" Jo asked in confusion.

"The term multi-murderer. They coined it to describe Holmes." Dean said, shaking his head.

"He was America's first serial killer, before anyone truly knew what a serial killer was." Aeron shook her head. She shivered at the thought.

"Yeah, he confessed to twenty seven murders, but some put the death toll at over a hundred." Sam explained.

"And his victim's flavor of choice? Pretty petite blondes. He, uh, he used chloroform to kill 'em." Dean looked at Jo. "Boy, you sure know how to pick 'em."

"Well now we are even in a bigger problem. It didn't matter the shade of blonde." Aeron explained. "So Jo you're not the only one that is in danger."

Jo looked at Aeron. Her eyes widened realizing what Aeron was telling her.

The brothers looked at Aeron. They had pieced together what she was saying.

Aeron locked eyes with Jo. "Sorry Jo."

"What Aeron… We just need to find the bones, salt 'em and burn 'em."

Sam shook his head. "Well, it's not that easy. His body is buried in town, but it's encased in a couple tons of concrete."

"What? Why?" Jo asked in confusion.

"The story goes that he didn't want anybody mutilating his corpse. Cause you know, that's what he used to do." Dean told Jo.

"You know something. We might have an even bigger problem than that." Sam told them.

"How does this get bigger?" Jo asked, looking at Sam.

Aeron groaned. She rubbed her face. "Holmes was apprehended in Boston, Massachusetts."

Sam nodded his head. "Holmes built an apartment building in Chicago. He called it the Murder Castle. The whole place was a death factory, they had, uh, trap doors, acid vats, quick line pits… he built these secret chambers inside the walls. He'd lock his victims in, keep them alive for days. Some he'd suffocate, others he'd let starve to death." Sam explained to Jo.

"So Teresa could still be alive. She could be inside these walls." Jo said, looking at them.

"We need sledgehammers, crowbars. We've got to smash these walls, anywhere thick enough to hide a girl." Dean told them.

Aeron looked at Jo. "Now. Jo, I want you to listen to what I am gonna tell you." She said grabbing onto Jo's arm making her sit down. Aeron stood in front of her. Her arms were crossed.

"What is Aeron?"

Aeron let out a sigh. "You're not gonna finish this."

"What? Why?"

Aeron shook her head. "Don't you dare ask me why, Jo. You know the reason why. You aren't ready for something like this. This will get ya killed and you know it. We aren't gonna use you for bait." She rubbed her face. "We have two blondes and that is too much. He will go after the one that seems more innocent."

"Aeron please."

"No Jo!" Aeron shouted, causing both Dean and Sam to jump. "I am not gonna get a lecture from your mom. I am not gonna get into another fight with her and get permanently thrown out of the Roadhouse."

Jo shook her head. "I wanna help."

Aeron shook her head. "No. This is a dangerous ghost we are dealing with. Jo it could kill you."

"It could kill you too."

"I am a trained hunter. You aren't, Jo. So please just listen to me for once."

"I can't. I want to help. Please let me help."

Aeron looked at Sam and Dean. She rubbed her face. "What do you two think? We are in a bit more trouble having two blondes."

Dean sighed. "Well… if one of us stays with Jo it should be okay."

Aeron looked at Dean. "And who should that be? You or Sam?"

Dean looked at Jo. "I'll go with Jo. You go with Sammy."

Aeron shook her head and put her hands on her hips. "Alright." Aeron ran her hand through her hair. "Keep an eye on her. Please."

"I will. Don't worry."

"I think it's my job. She is not as skilled as we are. Plus she is a sister that I never had." She looked at Sam. "Okay. We got work to do."

SPNSPN

"Okay call us after you and Aeron check the southeast wall." She hung up the phone. She looked at Dean. "Sam's almost done with the first floor. I haven't found jack squat either."

Dean stopped.

"What is it?" Jo asked him.

Dean shook his head. The space was too small for him to go through. "It's too narrow. Can't go any further."

"Let me see."

"What are you…"

Jo squeezed past him.

"Ugh. Should've cleaned the pipes." Dean closed his eyes. He was beginning to hate this idea.

"What?" Jo asked, looking at him.

"I, uh, I wish the pipes were cleaner."

"Shut up. I can fit through there."

"No go. You're not going in there by yourself. Aeron would have my head."

"You got a better idea?"

"You…"

"Uh-huh." She continued down the tight space.

Dean groaned. This was not good. He pulled out his phone and called her. "Where are you?" His eyes widened when he heard what she had said. "No, no, no, no, stay up here." Dean looked at the blueprints of the walls. "Alright. I'm heading to you." He heard what she said next. "What is it? Jo? Jo!" He heard her scream. He ran down to the lower level trying to hear for Jo. "Jo!" He brought the sledge hammer he had back and smashed it into the wall making a large hole. He stuck his head through it and saw Jo's phone laying on the ground. "Shit. Shit." Dean rubbed his head. "Aeron is oh so gonna kill me."

Dean darted back up the hallway. He ran right into Aeron causing her to bump into Sam.

Sam's arms wrapped around Aeron's middle. "Whoa."

"Thanks Sam." Aeron said, looking up at him with a smile.

"He's got Jo."

"What?!" Aeron said with wide eyes.

"How'd that happen?" Sam asked, looking at his brother with wide eyes.

"I wasn't with her. I left her alone. Damn it."

"Hey, hey, look we'll find her alright?"

"Where?" Dean questioned.

"Inside the walls." Sam said like it was a normal thing.

"We've been inside the walls all night. None of the other girls were there, she won't be either."

"We got to find out and fast. Come on." Aeron said, turning on her heels and running quickly.

Sam and Dean followed her.

The three of them were back in the apartment.

"Look. We just gotta take a beat and think about this. Maybe we got Holmes' M.O. wrong." Sam thought that was probably what had happened.

"Yeah, well, we'd better friggin' think fast." Dean complained. His phone began to ring.

Aeron froze. She looked at Dean.

Dean swallowed the lump in his throat. This wasn't good.

"Answer it." Aeron told him.

Dean picked it up. "Yeah." He swallowed the lump in his throat.

"You lied to me. She's there."

"Ellen."

"No. Ash told me everything. Man's a genius, but he folds like a cheap suit. Now you put my damn daughter on the phone."

"She's gonna have to call you back. She's taking care of, uh, feminine business."

Aeron groaned. She smacked her forehead with her hand. Damn it Dean.

"Yeah, right. Where is she? Where is she?!"

"Look, we'll get her back."

"Get her back? Back from what?"

"The spirit we're hunting, it took her."

"Oh my god."

"She'll be okay, I promise."

"You promise. That's not the first time I've heard that from a Winchester. Put Aeron on the phone now."

Dean looked at Aeron.

Aeron's eyes went wide as Dean handed the phone over to her. Aeron took the phone from Dean. "Hi Ellen." Aeron winced. "I tried to send her back. I really did. I yelled at her and told her that she needed to get out of there." Aeron closed her eyes. She swallowed the lump in her throat. "Yeah… yeah… okay… Bye…" She hung up the phone and handed it to him. "She's coming here."

"Damn it." Dean yelled.

"Don't beat yourself up, Dean. There's nothing you could have done." Sam said looking over at his older brother.

"Tell me you've got something." Dean said, looking over at Sam.

"Uh, maybe. Look. You looked at the layout of the Holmes murder castle, there's all the torture chambers inside the walls, right?"

"Right."

"But there's one we haven't considered yet. The one in this basement."

"This building doesn't have a basement."

"You're right, it doesn't. But I just noticed this. Beneath the foundation, it looks like part of an old sewer system that hasn't been used for…"

"Let's go." Dean said, grabbing his jacket and the books.

Aeron shook her head. "I guess follow him."

"Yeah."

The two of them followed Dean out of the room.

SNSNSN

Sam, Dean, and Aeron were outside. Dean and Sam had a metal detector and a shovel. They were looking for where the old sewer line could be.

Sam stopped on the part of the open field. "Here." He said when it started to wine.

Dean dropped his bag and began to dig. He hit the metal trap door.

The two of them opened it.

Aeron looked at the two boys. "Sorry boys this time I'm the bait." She told him.

"No Aeron." Sam said, looking at her with wide eyes.

"Come on boys. Jo's down there. You need something to lure the ghost out."

"It's dangerous for you." Dean said, becoming stubborn.

"I know it is dangerous."

The three of them descended down into the trap door.

Aeron groaned. She waved her hand in front of her face. "I'm just hoping she is still alive."

"She will be."

"You sound so sure of yourself Dean." She got down onto her knees. "Looks like we crawl."

Sam and Dean shared a look.

"No comments." She growled out as she began to crawl through the narrow sewer tunnels.

"You should go first baby bro."

Sam's cheeks flushed.

Dean shoved him first so he would follow Aeron.

The three of them crawled along in the narrow sewers.

Sam tried to keep his line of sight off of Aeron's butt. He couldn't let himself be distracted by how perfect… No.. Sam shook his head. He couldn't look at her like that.

The three of them were now out of the tunnels and they saw Jo. She was alive. That was a good thing.

"Hey!" Dean yelled, firing his gun into Holmes' chest, sending him flying backwards out of sight. "Jo?!"

"I'm here!" She yelled.

Dean quickly went over and found where Jo was.

Sam looked at Aeron.

"Go. See if you can find the other girl."

Sam nodded his head. He moved quickly.

Aeron's grip tightened on her gun.

Sam had found Teresa. "We're gonna get you out of here, alright?" He told her softly.

"Sam!" Dean handed the bar to Sam. "Hang on." He got Jo out of the compartment that she was in. "You alright?"

"Been better. Let's get the hell out of here before he comes back." Jo told them.

"Actually, I don't think you're leaving here just yet."

"What?"

"Dean no." Aeron said, narrowing her eyes at him.

"Aeron come on."

"You aren't using her as bait." Aeron said, narrowing her blue gray eyes at him. "If anyone is gonna be bait. It's gonna be me."

Dean looked at her. "There's no fighting you this is there?"

"No."

Dean looked at Sam who had gotten Teresa out of her cell.

Sam looked at Aeron with wide eyes. She was willing to risk herself? No.

"Sorry there isn't going to be any fighting with me on this. We are not using Jo as bait." Aeron said firmly. "Come on, we 've got work to do."

SNSNSN

Aeron sat in the middle of the chamber. She had given her jacket to Jo to keep her warm. Aeron rubbed her arms trying to get warmth in them.

Holmes appeared behind her and walked forward.

"Now!" Dean yelled at Aeron.

Aeron dived out of the way allowing Sam and Dean to do what they had in mind.

Dean and Sam fire at the walls and several bags unrolled and salt circled Holmes, trapping him.

Sam walked over towards Aeron. He helped her up off of the ground. He saw her shoulder was slightly banged up. "You alright."

Holmes was screaming in pain and anger.

"Scream all you want, you dick, but there's no way you're stepping over that salt!" Jo yelled.

Aeron shook her head. Of course Jo would be mouthy right at that moment.

They sealed the room off.

SNSNSN

Jo, Sam, and Aeron stood next to the entrance to the sewers looking down.

"So? This job as glamorous as you thought it would be?" Sam asked, looking over at Jo.

"Well, except for all the pee-your-pants terror, yeah. Sure. But that Teresa girl's gonna live a life because of us. It's worth it, isn't it?" Jo asked, looking at Sam and Aeron.

"Yeah." Sam nodded his head. "Yeah it is."

"Hey, what if somebody finds that sewer down there, or a storm washes the salt away?"

Aeron shook her head. A small smile came to her lips.

"Both very fine points. Which is why we're waiting here."

"For what?" Jo asked in confusion.

A truck was backing up beeping alerting them that it was coming.

Sam looked over his shoulder with a smile. He was glad that he talked Dean into this. "For that." He waved his hands to get Dean to stop the truck. "Whoa!"

Dean stopped and got out of the cab. He helped his brother set up the cement mixer right over the entrance.

"You ripped off a cement truck?" Jo said in surprise.

"I'll give it back." Dean said with a smile.

"Besides, you gotta do what you have to do." Aeron said with a nod of her head.

Dean watched the cement go into the sewer. "Well, that oughta keep him down there till hell freezes over."

SNSNSN

To their worst fears Ellen ended up showing up. Dean was driving the Impala back to the Roadhouse from Philadelphia. Ellen was sitting next to him. Jo, Aeron and Sam were sitting in the back. Aeron was more on Sam than anything. Her head resting on his shoulder.

Dean glanced over at Ellen. "Boy, you really weren't kidding about flying out, were you?"

Ellen didn't answer.

Sam and Jo exchanged concerned looks.

Aeron wrapped her arms around her middle sadly. Now Dean and Sam were going to get yelled at. She was already yelled at by Ellen. Ellen wasn't pleased with her. Hell she had gotten into a fight with Ellen before Ellen even saw her daughter. Aeron's cheek was slightly red from the hit that Ellen had given to her. But Aeron had taken it like a champ and wasn't going to let Ellen's anger get the best of her. She knew that Ellen was upset, but this time it wasn't a threat of getting kicked out of the roadhouse. She would just let Ellen cool down.

"How about we listen to some music?" Dean flicked on the radio.

Ellen reached and turned it off.

Dean glanced in the back for assistance. He sighed. He knew that he was in more trouble than Aeron had told him that he was going to be in. "This is gonna be a long drive."

Aeron shifted a little bit curling up into Sam.

Jo looked over at Aeron and Sam. She thought that it was cute that the two of them were like that.

Sam looked down at Aeron with a look. He wasn't expecting that. Not having Aeron curled up next to him. He let her because he knew that she was tired.

SNSNSN

Ellen dragged Jo by the elbow into the roadhouse. Dean and Sam had followed them.

Aeron shook her head and stayed outside. Aeron leaned against the Impala. She tiredly ran her hand through her hair.

Sam and Dean came out of the Roadhouse.

"She kicked ya out didn't she?" Aeron questioned.

"Yeah." Dean looked at Aeron. "You knew that was going to happen."

Aeron nodded her head. "Yeah." She shook her head. "You're Not the one that went and met her. She is very pissed off." She pointed to her cheek. "She hit me because she was that mad. All because I wasn't able to stop Jo from doing this case. Even though I tried."

Dean rubbed his face. "I screwed up didn't I?"

"Jo would have done her own thing." Aeron said softly. "It wouldn't have mattered if you tried to send her away."

The three of them leaned against the Impala.

Jo came storming out of the Roadhouse. She glared at Dean and kept on walking.

Dean followed her.

Aeron let out a soft sigh. "Ellen told her."

"Told her what?" Sam asked, looking at her.

"The truth." Aeron said sadly.

"You know the truth?"

"Yeah. Ellen told me a long time ago."

Sam nodded his head. He really didn't want to know the story.

Dean came back with a look on his face.

"Dean?" Sam asked in confusion.

"Let's go." Dean said getting into the driver's side.

Aeron let out a sigh. She got into the back like she always had.

Sam looked back at Jo and then got into the car as well.

Dean pulled away from the roadhouse. "Now I understand why you threatened my dad when you saw him that last time."

Aeron looked out the window. She couldn't even make a comment on that.

That is the end of chapter 7. I hope that you enjoyed this chapter. It was kind of hard to write this chapter for sure. Please leave a review. The next episode The Usual Suspects will be an interesting one to write that is for sure. Because it seems like it is going to be jumping around from place to place. Until next time.
